Today's Date: ======= Judges 9:1 ============ Jdg 9:1 And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem to his mother's relatives, and spoke to them and to the whole clan of the household of his mother's father, saying,(nasb) Jdg 9:1 Abiit autem Abimelech filius Jerobaal in Sichem ad fratres matris suæ, et locutus est ad eos, et ad omnem cognationem domus patris matris suæ, dicens:(vulgate) Jueces 9:1 Y se fue Abimelec hijo de Jerobaal a Siquem, a los hermanos de su madre, y habló con ellos, y con toda la familia de la casa del padre de su madre, diciendo:(E) Juges 9:1 Abimélec, fils de Jerubbaal, se rendit à Sichem vers les frères de sa mère, et voici comment il leur parla, ainsi qu'à toute la famille de la maison du père de sa mère:(F) Jdg 9:1 Abimelech aber, der Sohn Jerubbaals, ging hin zu Sichem zu den Brüdern seiner Mutter und redete mit ihnen und mit dem ganzen Geschlecht des Vaterhauses seiner Mutter und sprach:(D) Jdg 9:1 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Αβιμελεχ υἱὸς Ιεροβααλ εἰς Συχεμ πρὸς ἀδελφοὺς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ πρὸς πᾶσαν συγγένειαν οἴκου πατρὸς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ λέγων(lxx) Jdg 9:1 Then Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem, to his mother's brothers, and spoke with them and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:2 ============ Jdg 9:2 "Speak, now, in the hearing of all the leaders of Shechem, 'Which is better for you, that seventy men, all the sons of Jerubbaal, rule over you, or that one man rule over you?' Also, remember that I am your bone and your flesh."(nasb) Jdg 9:2 Loquimini ad omnes viros Sichem: Quid vobis est melius, ut dominentur vestri septuaginta viri omnes filii Jerobaal, an ut dominetur unus vir? simulque considerate quod os vestrum et caro vestra sum.(vulgate) Jueces 9:2 Yo os ruego que habléis a oídos de todos los de Siquem: ¿Qué os parece mejor, que todos los hijos de Jerobaal, setenta hombres, reinen sobre vosotros, o que reine sobre vosotros un solo hombre? Acordaos que yo soy hueso vuestro, y carne vuestra.(E) Juges 9:2 Dites, je vous prie, aux oreilles de tous les habitants de Sichem: Vaut-il mieux pour vous que soixante-dix hommes, tous fils de Jerubbaal, dominent sur vous, ou qu'un seul homme domine sur vous? Et souvenez-vous que je suis votre os et votre chair.(F) Jdg 9:2 Redet doch vor den Ohren aller Männer zu Sichem: was ist euch besser, daß siebzig Männer, alle Kinder Jerubbaals, über euch Herren seien, oder daß ein Mann über euch Herr sei? Gedenkt auch dabei, daß ich euer Gebein und Fleisch bin.(D) Jdg 9:2 λαλήσατε δὴ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν πάντων τῶν ἀνδρῶν Συχεμ τί τὸ ἀγαθὸν ὑμῖν κυριεῦσαι ὑμῶν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας πάντας υἱοὺς Ιεροβααλ ἢ κυριεύειν ὑμῶν ἄνδρα ἕνα καὶ μνήσθητε ὅτι ὀστοῦν ὑμῶν καὶ σὰρξ ὑμῶν εἰμι(lxx) Jdg 9:2 "Please speak in the hearing of all the men of Shechem: 'Which is better for you, that all seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal reign over you, or that one reign over you?' Remember that I am your own flesh and bone."(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:3 ============ Jdg 9:3 And his mother's relatives spoke all these words on his behalf in the hearing of all the leaders of Shechem; and they were inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, "He is our relative."(nasb) Jdg 9:3 Locutique sunt fratres matris ejus de eo ad omnes viros Sichem universos sermones istos, et inclinaverunt cor eorum post Abimelech, dicentes: Frater noster est.(vulgate) Jueces 9:3 Y hablaron por él los hermanos de su madre a oídos de todos los de Siquem todas estas palabras; y el corazón de ellos se inclinó en favor de Abimelec, porque decían: Nuestro hermano [es].(E) Juges 9:3 Les frères de sa mère répétèrent pour lui toutes ces paroles aux oreilles de tous les habitants de Sichem, et leur coeur inclina en faveur d'Abimélec, car ils se disaient: C'est notre frère.(F) Jdg 9:3 Da redeten die Brüder seiner Mutter von ihm alle diese Worte vor den Ohren aller Männer zu Sichem. Und ihr Herz neigte sich Abimelech nach; denn sie gedachten: Er ist unser Bruder.(D) Jdg 9:3 καὶ ἐλάλησαν περὶ αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν πάντων τῶν ἀνδρῶν Συχεμ πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ ἔκλινεν ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν ὀπίσω Αβιμελεχ ὅτι εἶπαν ἀδελφὸς ἡμῶν ἐστιν(lxx) Jdg 9:3 And his mother's brothers spoke all these words concerning him in the hearing of all the men of Shechem; and their heart was inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, "He is our brother."(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:4 ============ Jdg 9:4 They gave him seventy pieces of silver from the house of Baal-berith with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless fellows, and they followed him.(nasb) Jdg 9:4 Dederuntque illi septuaginta pondo argenti de fano Baalberit. Qui conduxit sibi ex eo viros inopes et vagos, secutique sunt eum.(vulgate) Jueces 9:4 Y le dieron setenta [piezas] de plata del templo de Baal-berit, con los cuales Abimelec alquiló hombres ociosos y vagabundos, que le siguieron.(E) Juges 9:4 Ils lui donnèrent soixante-dix sicles d'argent, qu'ils enlevèrent de la maison de Baal-Berith. Abimélec s'en servit pour acheter des misérables et des turbulents, qui allèrent après lui.(F) Jdg 9:4 Und sie gaben ihm siebzig Silberlinge aus dem Haus Baal-Beriths. Und Abimelech dingte damit lose, leichtfertige Männer, die ihm nachfolgten.(D) Jdg 9:4 καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ ἑβδομήκοντα ἀργυρίου ἐξ οἴκου Βααλβεριθ καὶ ἐμισθώσατο ἑαυτῷ Αβιμελεχ ἄνδρας κενοὺς καὶ δειλούς καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ(lxx) Jdg 9:4 So they gave him seventy shekels of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith, with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless men; and they followed him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:5 ============ Jdg 9:5 Then he went to his father's house at Ophrah and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.(nasb) Jdg 9:5 Et venit in domum patris sui in Ephra, et occidit fratres suos filios Jerobaal, septuaginta viros super lapidem unum: remansitque Joatham filius Jerobaal minimus, et absconditus est.~(vulgate) Jueces 9:5 Y viniendo a la casa de su padre en Ofra, mató a sus hermanos los hijos de Jerobaal, setenta varones, sobre una piedra; mas quedó Jotam, el hijo menor de Jerobaal, que se escondió.(E) Juges 9:5 Il vint dans la maison de son père à Ophra, et il tua ses frères, fils de Jerubbaal, soixante-dix hommes, sur une même pierre. Il n'échappa que Jotham, le plus jeune fils de Jerubbaal, car il s'était caché.(F) Jdg 9:5 Und er kam in seines Vaters Haus gen Ophra und erwürgte seine Brüder, die Kinder Jerubbaals, siebzig Mann, auf einem Stein. Es blieb aber übrig Jotham, der jüngste Sohn Jerubbaals; denn er war versteckt.(D) Jdg 9:5 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ εἰς Εφραθα καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ υἱοὺς Ιεροβααλ ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἐπὶ λίθον ἕνα καὶ κατελείφθη Ιωαθαν υἱὸς Ιεροβααλ ὁ νεώτερος ὅτι ἐκρύβη(lxx) Jdg 9:5 Then he went to his father's house at Ophrah and killed his brothers, the seventy sons of Jerubbaal, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, because he hid himself.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:6 ============ Jdg 9:6 All the men of Shechem and all Beth-millo assembled together, and they went and made Abimelech king, by the oak of the pillar which was in Shechem.(nasb) Jdg 9:6 Congregati sunt autem omnes viri Sichem, et universæ familiæ urbis Mello: abieruntque et constituerunt regem Abimelech, juxta quercum quæ stabat in Sichem.(vulgate) Jueces 9:6 Y reunidos todos los de Siquem con toda la casa de Milo, fueron y eligieron a Abimelec por rey, cerca de la llanura del pilar que [estaba] en Siquem.(E) Juges 9:6 Tous les habitants de Sichem et toute la maison de Millo se rassemblèrent; ils vinrent, et proclamèrent roi Abimélec, près du chêne planté dans Sichem.(F) Jdg 9:6 Und es versammelten sich alle Männer von Sichem und das ganze Haus Millo, gingen hin und machten Abimelech zum König bei der hohen Eiche, die zu Sichem steht.(D) Jdg 9:6 καὶ συνήχθησαν πάντες ἄνδρες Σικιμων καὶ πᾶς οἶκος Βηθμααλων καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν τὸν Αβιμελεχ πρὸς τῇ βαλάνῳ τῇ εὑρετῇ τῆς στάσεως τῆς ἐν Σικιμοις(lxx) Jdg 9:6 And all the men of Shechem gathered together, all of Beth Millo, and they went and made Abimelech king beside the terebinth tree at the pillar that was in Shechem.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:7 ============ Jdg 9:7 Now when they told Jotham, he went and stood on the top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted his voice and called out. Thus he said to them, "Listen to me, O men of Shechem, that God may listen to you.(nasb) Jdg 9:7 Quod cum nuntiatum esset Joatham, ivit, et stetit in vertice montis Garizim: elevataque voce, clamavit, et dixit: Audite me, viri Sichem; ita audiat vos Deus.(vulgate) Jueces 9:7 Y cuando se lo dijeron a Jotam, fue y se puso en la cumbre del monte de Gerizim, y alzando su voz clamó, y les dijo: Oídme, varones de Siquem; que Dios os oiga.(E) Juges 9:7 Jotham en fut informé. Il alla se placer sur le sommet de la montagne de Garizim, et voici ce qu'il leur cria à haute voix: Ecoutez-moi, habitants de Sichem, et que Dieu vous écoute!(F) Jdg 9:7 Da das angesagt ward dem Jotham, ging er hin und trat auf die Höhe des Berges Garizim und hob auf seine Stimme, rief und sprach zu ihnen: Hört mich, ihr Männer zu Sichem, daß euch Gott auch höre!(D) Jdg 9:7 καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τῷ Ιωαθαν καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ κορυφὴν ὄρους Γαριζιν καὶ ἐπῆρεν τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔκλαυσεν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἀκούσατέ μου ἄνδρες Σικιμων καὶ ἀκούσεται ὑμῶν ὁ θεός(lxx) Jdg 9:7 Now when they told Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted his voice and cried out. And he said to them: "Listen to me, you men of Shechem, That God may listen to you!(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:8 ============ Jdg 9:8 Once the trees went forth to anoint a king over them, and they said to the olive tree, 'Reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:8 Ierunt ligna, ut ungerent super se regem: dixeruntque olivæ: Impera nobis.(vulgate) Jueces 9:8 Fueron los árboles a elegir rey sobre sí, y dijeron al olivo: Reina sobre nosotros.(E) Juges 9:8 Les arbres partirent pour aller oindre un roi et le mettre à leur tête. Ils dirent à l'olivier: Règne sur nous.(F) Jdg 9:8 Die Bäume gingen hin, daß sie einen König über sich salbten, und sprachen zu dem Ölbaum: Sei unser König!(D) Jdg 9:8 πορευόμενα ἐπορεύθη τὰ ξύλα τοῦ χρῖσαι ἐφ᾽ ἑαυτὰ βασιλέα καὶ εἶπον τῇ ἐλαίᾳ βασίλευσον ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν(lxx) Jdg 9:8 "The trees once went forth to anoint a king over them. And they said to the olive tree, 'Reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:9 ============ Jdg 9:9 But the olive tree said to them, 'Shall I leave my fatness with which God and men are honored, and go to wave over the trees?'(nasb) Jdg 9:9 Quæ respondit: Numquid possum deserere pinguedinem meam, qua et dii utuntur et homines, et venire ut inter ligna promovear?(vulgate) Jueces 9:9 Mas el olivo respondió: ¿He de dejar mi aceite, con el cual por mí honran a Dios y a los hombres, para ir a ser grande sobre los árboles?(E) Juges 9:9 Mais l'olivier leur répondit: Renoncerais-je à mon huile, qui m'assure les hommages de Dieu et des hommes, pour aller planer sur les arbres?(F) Jdg 9:9 Aber der Ölbaum antwortete ihnen: Soll ich meine Fettigkeit lassen, die beide, Götter und Menschen, an mir preisen, und hingehen, daß ich schwebe über den Bäumen?(D) Jdg 9:9 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ ἐλαία μὴ ἀπολείψασα τὴν πιότητά μου ἐν ᾗ δοξάσουσι τὸν θεὸν ἄνδρες πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων(lxx) Jdg 9:9 But the olive tree said to them, 'Should I cease giving my oil, With which they honor God and men, And go to sway over trees?'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:10 ============ Jdg 9:10 Then the trees said to the fig tree, 'You come, reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:10 Dixeruntque ligna ad arborem ficum: Veni, et super nos regnum accipe.(vulgate) Jueces 9:10 Y dijeron los árboles a la higuera: Anda tú, reina sobre nosotros.(E) Juges 9:10 Et les arbres dirent au figuier: Viens, toi, règne sur nous.(F) Jdg 9:10 Da sprachen die Bäume zum Feigenbaum: Komm du und sei unser König!(D) Jdg 9:10 καὶ εἶπον τὰ ξύλα τῇ συκῇ δεῦρο βασίλευσον ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν(lxx) Jdg 9:10 "Then the trees said to the fig tree, 'You come and reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:11 ============ Jdg 9:11 But the fig tree said to them, 'Shall I leave my sweetness and my good fruit, and go to wave over the trees?'(nasb) Jdg 9:11 Quæ respondit eis: Numquid possum deserere dulcedinem meam, fructusque suavissimos, et ire ut inter cetera ligna promovear?(vulgate) Jueces 9:11 Y respondió la higuera: ¿He de dejar mi dulzura y mi buen fruto, para ir a ser grande sobre los árboles?(E) Juges 9:11 Mais le figuier leur répondit: Renoncerais-je à ma douceur et à mon excellent fruit, pour aller planer sur les arbres?(F) Jdg 9:11 Aber der Feigenbaum sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich meine Süßigkeit und meine gute Frucht lassen und hingehen, daß ich über den Bäumen schwebe?(D) Jdg 9:11 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ συκῆ μὴ ἀπολείψασα ἐγὼ τὴν γλυκύτητά μου καὶ τὰ γενήματά μου τὰ ἀγαθὰ πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων(lxx) Jdg 9:11 But the fig tree said to them, 'Should I cease my sweetness and my good fruit, And go to sway over trees?'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:12 ============ Jdg 9:12 Then the trees said to the vine, 'You come, reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:12 Locutaque sunt ligna ad vitem: Veni, et impera nobis.(vulgate) Jueces 9:12 Dijeron luego los árboles a la vid: Pues ven tú, reina sobre nosotros.(E) Juges 9:12 Et les arbres ἡμῶν(lxx) Jdg 9:12 "Then the trees said to the vine, 'You come and reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:13 ============ Jdg 9:13 But the vine said to them, 'Shall I leave my new wine, which cheers God and men, and go to wave over the trees?'(nasb) Jdg 9:13 Quæ respondit eis: Numquid possum deserere vinum meum, quod lætificat Deum et homines, et inter ligna cetera promoveri?(vulgate) Jueces 9:13 Y la vid les respondió: ¿He de dejar mi mosto, que alegra a Dios y a los hombres, por ir a ser grande sobre los árboles?(E) Juges 9:13 Mais la vigne leur répondit: Renoncerais-je à mon vin, qui réjouit Dieu et les hommes, pour aller planer sur les arbres?(F) Jdg 9:13 Aber der Weinstock sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich meinen Most lassen, der Götter und Menschen fröhlich macht, und hingehen, daß ich über den Bäumen schwebe?(D) Jdg 9:13 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ ἄμπελος μὴ ἀπολείψασα τὸν οἶνόν μου τὸν εὐφραίνοντα θεὸν καὶ ἀνθρώπους πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων(lxx) Jdg 9:13 But the vine said to them, 'Should I cease my new wine, Which cheers both God and men, And go to sway over trees?'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:14 ============ Jdg 9:14 Finally all the trees said to the bramble, 'You come, reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:14 Dixeruntque omnia ligna ad rhamnum: Veni, et impera super nos.(vulgate) Jueces 9:14 Dijeron entonces todos los árboles al escaramujo: Anda tú, reina sobre nosotros.(E) Juges 9:14 Alors tous les arbres dirent au buisson d'épines: Viens, toi, règne sur nous.(F) Jdg 9:14 Da sprachen die Bäume zum Dornbusch: Komm du und sei unser König!(D) Jdg 9:14 καὶ εἶπαν πάντα τὰ ξύλα τῇ ῥάμνῳ δεῦρο σὺ βασίλευσον ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν(lxx) Jdg 9:14 "Then all the trees said to the bramble, 'You come and reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:15 ============ Jdg 9:15 The bramble said to the trees, 'If in truth you are anointing me as king over you, come and take refuge in my shade; but if not, may fire come out from the bramble and consume the cedars of Lebanon.'(nasb) Jdg 9:15 Quæ respondit eis: Si vere me regem vobis constituitis, venite, et sub umbra mea requiescite: si autem non vultis, egrediatur ignis de rhamno, et devoret cedros Libani.(vulgate) Jueces 9:15 Y el escaramujo respondió a los árboles: Si en verdad me elegís por rey sobre vosotros, venid, y aseguraos debajo de mi sombra; y si no, fuego salga del escaramujo que devore los cedros del Líbano.(E) Juges 9:15 Et le buisson d'épines répondit aux arbres: Si c'est de bonne foi que vous voulez m'oindre pour votre roi, venez, réfugiez-vous sous mon ombrage; sinon, un feu sortira du buisson d'épines, et dévorera les cèdres du Liban.(F) Jdg 9:15 Und der Dornbusch sprach zu den Bäumen: Ist's wahr, daß ihr mich zum König salbt über euch, so kommt und vertraut euch unter meinen Schatten; wo nicht, so gehe Feuer aus dem Dornbusch und verzehre die Zedern Libanons.(D) Jdg 9:15 καὶ εἶπεν ἡ ῥάμνος πρὸς τὰ ξύλα εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ χρίετέ με ὑμεῖς τοῦ βασιλεύειν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς δεῦτε ὑπόστητε ἐν τῇ σκιᾷ μου καὶ εἰ μή ἐξέλθῃ πῦρ ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ καταφάγῃ τὰς κέδρους τοῦ Λιβάνου(lxx) Jdg 9:15 And the bramble said to the trees, 'If in truth you anoint me as king over you, Then come and take shelter in my shade; But if not, let fire come out of the bramble And devour the cedars of Lebanon!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:16 ============ Jdg 9:16 "Now therefore, if you have dealt in truth and integrity in making Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have dealt with him as he deserved"(nasb) Jdg 9:16 Nunc igitur, si recte et absque peccato constituistis super vos regem Abimelech, et bene egistis cum Jerobaal, et cum domo ejus, et reddidistis vicem beneficiis ejus, qui pugnavit pro vobis,(vulgate) Jueces 9:16 Ahora pues, si con verdad y con integridad habéis procedido en hacer rey a Abimelec, y si lo habéis hecho bien con Jerobaal y con su casa, y si le habéis pagado conforme a la obra de sus manos(E) Juges 9:16 Maintenant, est-ce de bonne foi et avec intégrité que vous avez agi en proclamant roi Abimélec? avez-vous eu de la bienveillance pour Jerubbaal et sa maison? l'avez-vous traité selon les services qu'il a rendus? -(F) Jdg 9:16 Habt ihr nun recht und redlich getan, daß ihr Abimelech zum König gemacht habt; und habt ihr wohl getan an Jerubbaal und an seinem Hause und habt ihm getan, wie er um euch verdient hat(D) Jdg 9:16 καὶ νῦν εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ τελειότητι ἐποιήσατε καὶ ἐβασιλεύσατε τὸν Αβιμελεχ καὶ εἰ ἀγαθωσύνην ἐποιήσατε μετὰ Ιεροβααλ καὶ μετὰ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰ ὡς ἀνταπόδοσις χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐποιήσατε αὐτῷ(lxx) Jdg 9:16 "Now therefore, if you have acted in truth and sincerity in making Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done to him as he deserves--(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:17 ============ Jdg 9:17 for my father fought for you and risked his life and delivered you from the hand of Midian;(nasb) Jdg 9:17 et animam suam dedit periculis, ut erueret vos de manu Madian,(vulgate) Jueces 9:17 (Pues que mi padre peleó por vosotros, y expuso su vida por libraros de mano de Madián;(E) Juges 9:17 Car mon père a combattu pour vous, il a exposé sa vie, et il vous a délivrés de la main de Madian;(F) Jdg 9:17 (denn mein Vater hat gestritten um euretwillen und seine Seele dahingeworfen von sich, daß er euch errettete von der Midianiter Hand;(D) Jdg 9:17 ὡς παρετάξατο ὁ πατήρ μου ὑπὲρ But Zebul said to him, "You are seeing the shadow of the mountains as if they were men."(nasb) Jdg 9:36 Cumque vidisset populum Gaal, dixit ad Zebul: Ecce de montibus multitudo descendit. Is this not the people whom you despised? Then he said to the people who were with him, "What you have seen me do, hurry and do likewise."(nasb) Jdg 9:48 ascendit in montem Selmon cum omni populo suo: et arrepta securi, præcidit arboris ramum, impositumque ferens humero, dixit ad socios: Quod me videtis facere, cito facite.(vulgate) Jueces 9:48 Entonces subió Abimelec al monte de Salmón, él y toda la gente que con él estaba; y tomó Abimelec un hacha en su mano, y cortó una rama de los árboles, y levantándola se la puso sobre sus hombros, diciendo al pueblo que estaba con él: Lo que me habéis visto hacer, apresuraos y haced lo mismo.(E) Juges 9:48 Alors Abimélec monta sur la montagne de Tsalmon, lui et tout le peuple qui était avec lui. Auf den flohen alle Männer und Weiber und alle Bürger der Stadt und schlossen hinter sich zu und stiegen auf das Dach des Turms.(D) Jdg 9:51 καὶ πύργος ἰσχυρὸς ἦν ἐν μέσῳ τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἔφυγον ἐκεῖ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἔκλεισαν ἔξωθεν αὐτῶν καὶ ἀνέβησαν ἐπὶ τὸ δῶμα τοῦ πύργου(lxx) Jdg 9:51 But there was a strong tower in the city, and all the men and women--all the people of the city--fled there and shut themselves in; then they went up to the top of the tower.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:52 ============ Jdg 9:52 So Abimelech came to the tower and fought against it, and approached the entrance of the tower to burn it with fire.(nasb) Jdg 9:52 Accedensque Abimelech juxta turrim, pugnabat fortiter: et appropinquans ostio, ignem supponere nitebatur:(vulgate) Jueces 9:52 Y vino Abimelec a la torre, y combatiéndola, se acercó a la puerta de la torre para prenderle fuego.(E) Juges 9:52 Abimélec parvint jusqu'à la tour; il l'attaqua, et s'approcha de la porte pour y mettre le feu.(F) Jdg 9:52 Da kam Abimelech zum Turm und stritt dawider und nahte sich zur Tür des Turms, daß er ihn mit Feuer verbrannte.(D) Jdg 9:52 καὶ ἦλθεν Αβιμελεχ ἕως τοῦ πύργου καὶ παρετάξαντο αὐτῷ καὶ ἤγγισεν Αβιμελεχ ἕως τῆς θύρας τοῦ πύργου τοῦ ἐμπρῆσαι αὐτὸν ἐν πυρί(lxx) Jdg 9:52 So Abimelech came as far as the tower and fought against it; and he drew near the door of the tower to burn it with fire.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:53 ============ Jdg 9:53 But a certain woman threw an upper millstone on Abimelech's head, crushing his skull.(nasb) Jdg 9:53 et ecce una mulier fragmen molæ desuper jaciens, illisit capiti Abimelech, et confregit cerebrum ejus.(vulgate) Jueces 9:53 Pero una mujer dejó caer un pedazo de una rueda de molino sobre la cabeza de Abimelec y le quebró el cráneo.(E) Juges 9:53 Alors une femme lança sur la tête d'Abimélec un morceau de meule de moulin, et lui brisa le crâne.(F) Jdg 9:53 Aber ein Weib warf einen Mühlstein Abimelech auf den Kopf und zerbrach ihm den Schädel.(D) Jdg 9:53 καὶ ἔρριψεν γυνὴ μία κλάσμα ἐπιμυλίου ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν Αβιμελεχ καὶ ἔκλασεν τὸ κρανίον αὐτοῦ(lxx) Jdg 9:53 But a certain woman dropped an upper millstone on Abimelech's head and crushed his skull.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:54 ============ Jdg 9:54 Then he called quickly to the young man, his armor bearer, and said to him, "Draw your sword and kill me, so that it will not be said of me, 'A woman slew him.'" So the young man pierced him through, and he died.(nasb) Jdg 9:54 Qui vocavit cito armigerum suum, et ait ad eum: Evagina gladium tuum, et percute me, ne forte dicatur quod a femina interfectus sim. Qui jussa perficiens, interfecit eum.(vulgate) Jueces 9:54 Y luego llamó él a su escudero, y le dijo: Saca tu espada y mátame, para que no se diga de mí: Una mujer lo mató. Y su escudero le atravesó, y murió.(E) Juges 9:54 Aussitôt il appela le jeune homme qui portait ses armes, et lui dit: Tire ton épée, et donne-moi la mort, de peur qu'on ne dise de moi: C'est une femme qui l'a tué. Le jeune homme le perça, et il mourut.(F) Jdg 9:54 Da rief Abimelech eilend dem Diener, der seine Waffen trug, und sprach zu ihm: Zieh dein Schwert aus und töte mich, daß man nicht von mir sage: Ein Weib hat ihn erwürgt. Da durchstach ihn sein Diener, und er starb.(D) Jdg 9:54 καὶ ἐβόησεν ταχὺ πρὸς τὸ παιδάριον τὸ αἶρον τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ σπάσον τὴν ῥομφαίαν μου καὶ θανάτωσόν με μήποτε εἴπωσιν γυνὴ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐξεκέντησεν αὐτὸν τὸ παιδάριον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπέθανεν(lxx) Jdg 9:54 Then he called quickly to the young man, his armorbearer, and said to him, "Draw your sword and kill me, lest men say of me, 'A woman killed him.'
