So why have you come to me now when you are in trouble?"(nasb) Jdg 11:7 Quibus ille respondit: Nonne vos estis, qui odistis me, et ejecistis de domo patris mei? et nunc venistis ad me necessitate compulsi.(vulgate) Jueces 11:7 Y Jefté respondió a los ancianos de Galaad: ¿No me habéis aborrecido vosotros, y me echasteis de la casa de mi padre? ¿Por qué, pues, venís ahora a mí cuando estáis en aflicción?(E) Juges 11:7 Jephthé répondit aux anciens de Galaad: N'avez-vous pas eu de la haine pour moi, et ne m'avez-vous pas chassé de la maison de mon père? Pourquoi venez-vous à moi maintenant que vous êtes dans la détresse?(F) Jdg 11:7 Aber Jephthah sprach zu den Ältesten von Gilead: Seid ihr es nicht, die mich hassen und aus meines Vaters Haus gestoßen haben? Und nun kommt ihr zu mir, weil ihr in Trübsal seid?(D) Jdg 11:7 καὶ εἶπεν Ιεφθαε τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις Γαλααδ οὐχὶ ὑμεῖς ἐμισήσατέ με καὶ ἐξεβάλετέ με ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός μου καὶ ἐξαπεστείλατέ με ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν καὶ διὰ τί ἤλθατε πρός με νῦν ἡνίκα χρῄζετε(lxx) Jdg 11:7 So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me, and expel me from my father's house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:8 ============ Jdg 11:8 The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "For this reason we have now returned to you, that you may go with us and fight with the sons of Ammon and become head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."(nasb) Jdg 11:8 Dixeruntque principes Galaad ad Jephte: Ob hanc igitur causam nunc ad te venimus, ut proficiscaris nobiscum, et pugnes contra filios Ammon, sisque dux omnium qui habitant in Galaad.(vulgate) Jueces 11:8 Y los ancianos de Galaad respondieron a Jefté: Por esta misma causa volvemos ahora a ti, para que vengas con nosotros, y pelees contra los hijos de Amón, y nos seas cabeza a todos los que moramos en Galaad.(E) Juges 11:8 Les anciens de Galaad dirent à Jephthé: Nous revenons à toi maintenant, afin que tu marches avec nous, que tu combattes les fils d'Ammon, et que tu sois notre chef, celui de tous les habitants de Galaad.(F) Jdg 11:8 Die Ältesten von Gilead sprachen zu Jephthah: Darum kommen wir nun wieder zu dir, daß du mit uns ziehst und hilfst uns streiten wider die Kinder Ammon und seist unser Haupt über alle, die in Gilead wohnen.(D) Jdg 11:8 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Γαλααδ πρὸς Ιεφθαε διὰ τοῦτο νῦν ἐπεστρέψαμεν πρὸς σέ καὶ πορεύσῃ μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν καὶ παρατάξῃ πρὸς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ ἔσῃ ἡμῖν εἰς ἄρχοντα πᾶσιν τοῖς οἰκοῦσιν Γαλααδ(lxx) Jdg 11:8 And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "That is why we have turned again to you now, that you may go with us and fight against the people of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:9 ============ Jdg 11:9 So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you take me back to fight against the sons of Ammon and the Lord gives them up to me, will I become your head?"(nasb) Jdg 11:9 Jephte quoque dixit eis: Si vere venistis ad me, ut pugnem pro vobis contra filios Ammon, tradideritque eos Dominus in manus meas, ego ero vester princeps?(vulgate) Jueces 11:9 Jefté entonces dijo a los ancianos de Galaad: Si me hacéis volver para que pelee contra los hijos de Amón, y Jehová los entrega delante de mí, ¿seré yo vuestra cabeza?(E) Juges 11:9 Jephthé répondit aux anciens de Galaad: Si vous me ramenez pour combattre les fils d'Ammon, et que l'Eternel les livre devant moi, je serai votre chef.(F) Jdg 11:9 Jephthah sprach zu den Ältesten von Gilead: So ihr mich wieder holet, zu streiten wider die Kinder Ammon, und der HERR sie vor mir dahingeben wird, soll ich dann euer Haupt sein?(D) Jdg 11:9 καὶ εἶπεν Ιεφθαε πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Γαλααδ εἰ ἐπιστρέφετέ με ὑμεῖς παρατάξασθαι ἐν υἱοῖς Αμμων καὶ παραδῷ κύριος αὐτοὺς ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ καὶ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς ἄρχοντα(lxx) Jdg 11:9 So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you take me back home to fight against the people of Ammon, and the Lord delivers them to me, shall I be your head?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:10 ============ Jdg 11:10 The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The Lord is witness between us; surely we will do as you have said."(nasb) Jdg 11:10 Qui responderunt ei: Dominus, qui hæc audit, ipse mediator ac testis est quod nostra promissa faciemus.(vulgate) Jueces 11:10 Y los ancianos de Galaad respondieron a Jefté: Jehová sea testigo entre nosotros, si no hacemos como tú dices.(E) Juges 11:10 Les anciens de Galaad dirent à Jephthé: Que l'Eternel nous entende, et qu'il juge, si nous ne faisons pas ce que tu dis.(F) Jdg 11:10 Die Ältesten von Gilead sprachen zu Jephthah: Der HERR sei Zuhörer zwischen uns, wo wir nicht tun, wie du gesagt hast.(D) Jdg 11:10 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Γαλααδ πρὸς Ιεφθαε κύριος ἔστω ἀκούων ἀνὰ μέσον ἡμῶν εἰ μὴ κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμά σου οὕτως ποιήσομεν(lxx) Jdg 11:10 And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The Lord will be a witness between us, if we do not do according to your words."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:11 ============ Jdg 11:11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them; and Jephthah spoke all his words before the Lord at Mizpah.(nasb) Jdg 11:11 Abiit itaque Jephte cum principibus Galaad, fecitque eum omnis populus principem sui. Now therefore, restore those lands peaceably."(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:14 ============ Jdg 11:14 But Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the sons of Ammon,(nasb) Jdg 11:14 Per quos rursum mandavit Jephte, et imperavit eis ut dicerent regi Ammon:(vulgate) Jueces 11:14 Y Jefté volvió a enviar otros embajadores al rey de los amonitas,(E) Juges 11:14 Jephthé envoya de nouveau des messagers au roi des fils d'Ammon,(F) Jdg 11:14 Jephthah aber sandte noch mehr Boten zum König der Kinder Ammon,(D) Jdg 11:14 καὶ προσέθηκεν ἔτι Ιεφθαε καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους πρὸς βασιλέα υἱῶν Αμμων(lxx) Jdg 11:14 So Jephthah again sent messengers to the king of the people of Ammon,(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:15 ============ Jdg 11:15 and they said to him, "Thus says Jephthah, 'Israel did not take away the land of Moab nor the land of the sons of Ammon.(nasb) Jdg 11:15 Hæc dicit Jephte: Non tulit Israël terram Moab, nec terram filiorum Ammon:(vulgate) Jueces 11:15 para decirle: Jefté ha dicho así: Israel no tomó tierra de Moab, ni tierra de los hijos de Amón:(E) Juges 11:15 pour lui dire: Ainsi parle Jephthé: Israël ne s'est point emparé du pays de Moab, ni du pays des fils d'Ammon.(F) Jdg 11:15 die sprachen zu ihm: So spricht Jephthah: Israel hat kein Land genommen, weder den Moabitern noch den Kindern Ammon.(D) Jdg 11:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ οὕτω λέγει Ιεφθαε οὐκ ἔλαβεν Ισραηλ τὴν γῆν Μωαβ καὶ τὴν γῆν υἱῶν Αμμων(lxx) Jdg 11:15 and said to him, "Thus says Jephthah: 'Israel did not take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the people of Ammon;(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:16 ============ Jdg 11:16 For when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh,(nasb) Jdg 11:16 sed quando de Ægypto conscenderunt, ambulavit per solitudinem usque ad mare Rubrum, et venit in Cades.(vulgate) Jueces 11:16 Mas subiendo Israel de Egipto, anduvo por el desierto hasta el Mar Rojo, y llegó a Cades.(E) Juges 11:16 Car lorsque Israël est monté d'Egypte, il a marché dans le désert jusqu'à la mer Rouge, et il est arrivé à Kadès.(F) Jdg 11:16 Denn da sie aus Ägypten zogen, wandelte Israel durch die Wüste bis ans Schilfmeer und kam gen Kades(D) Jdg 11:16 ὅτι ἐν τῷ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτοὺς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἐπορεύθη Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἕως θαλάσσης Σιφ καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς Καδης(lxx) Jdg 11:16 for when Israel came up from Egypt, they walked through the wilderness as far as the Red Sea and came to Kadesh.(nkjv) ======= Judges 11:17 ============ Jdg 11:17 then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Please let us pass through your land," but the king of Edom would not listen. And they also sent to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained at Kadesh.(nasb) Jdg 11:17 Misitque nuntios ad regem Edom, dicens: Dimitte me ut transeam per terram tuam. Qui noluit acquiescere precibus ejus. Misit quoque ad regem Moab, qui et ipse transitum præbere contempsit. Mansit itaque in Cades,(vulgate) Jueces 11:17 Entonces Israel envió embajadores al rey de Edom, diciendo: Yo te ruego que me dejes pasar por tu tierra. Mas el rey de Edom no los escuchó. Envió también al rey de Moab; el cual tampoco quiso. Also blieb Israel in Kades(D) Jdg 11:17 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ισραηλ ἀγγέλους πρὸς βασιλέα Εδωμ λέγων παρελεύσομαι δὴ ἐν τῇ γῇ σου καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν βασιλεὺς Εδωμ καὶ πρὸς βασιλέα Μωαβ ἀπέστειλεν καὶ οὐκ εὐδόκησεν καὶ ἐκάθισεν Ισραηλ ἐν Καδης(lxx) Jdg 11:17 Then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Please let me pass through your land." But the king of Edom would not heed. And in like manner they sent to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. Exinde mos increbruit in Israël, et consuetudo servata est,(vulgate) Jueces 11:39 Y aconteció que pasados los dos meses ella volvió a su padre, quien hizo con ella [conforme] a su voto que había hecho. Y ella nunca conoció varón.(E) Juges 11:39 Au bout des deux mois, elle revint vers son père, et il accomplit sur elle le voeu qu'il avait fait. Elle n'avait point connu d'homme. Dès lors s'établit en Israël la coutume(F) Jdg 11:39 Und nach zwei Monaten kam sie wieder zu ihrem Vater. Und er tat ihr, wie er gelobt hatte; und sie war nie eines Mannes schuldig geworden. Und es ward eine Gewohnheit in Israel,(D) Jdg 11:39 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τέλει τῶν δύο μηνῶν καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτῆς καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐν αὐτῇ τὴν εὐχὴν αὐτοῦ ἣν ηὔξατο καὶ αὐτὴ οὐκ ἔγνω ἄνδρα καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς πρόσταγμα ἐν Ισραηλ(lxx) Jdg 11:39 And it was so at the end of two months that she returned to her father, and he carried out his vow with her which he had vowed. She knew no man.
