Today's Date: ======= Ruth 3:1 ============ Rut 3:1 Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek security for you, that it may be well with you?(nasb) Rut 3:1 Postquam autem reversa est ad socrum suam, audivit ab ea: Filia mea, quæram tibi requiem, et providebo ut bene sit tibi.(vulgate) Rut 3:1 Entonces Noemí, su suegra, le dijo: Hija mía, ¿no he de buscar descanso para ti, para que estés bien?(E) Ruth 3:1 Naomi, sa belle-mère, lui dit: Ma fille, je voudrais assurer ton repos, afin que tu fusses heureuse.(F) Rut 3:1 Und Naemi, ihre Schwiegermutter, sprach zu ihr: Meine Tochter, ich will dir Ruhe schaffen, daß dir's wohl gehe.(D) Rut 3:1 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῇ Νωεμιν ἡ πενθερὰ αὐτῆς θύγατερ οὐ μὴ ζητήσω σοι ἀνάπαυσιν ἵνα εὖ γένηταί σοι(lxx) Rut 3:1 Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek security for you, that it may be well with you?(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:2 ============ Rut 3:2 Now is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maids you were? Behold, he winnows barley at the threshing floor tonight.(nasb) Rut 3:2 Booz iste, cujus puellis in agro juncta es, propinquus noster est, et hac nocte aream hordei ventilat.(vulgate) Rut 3:2 ¿No [es] Boaz nuestro pariente, con cuyas mozas tú has estado? He aquí que esta noche él avienta la parva de las cebadas.(E) Ruth 3:2 Et maintenant Boaz, avec les servantes duquel tu as été, n'est-il pas notre parent? Voici, il doit vanner cette nuit les orges qui sont dans l'aire.(F) Rut 3:2 Nun, der Boas, unser Verwandter, bei des Dirnen du gewesen bist, worfelt diese Nacht Gerste auf seiner Tenne.(D) Rut 3:2 καὶ νῦν οὐχὶ Βοος γνώριμος ἡμῶν οὗ ἦς μετὰ τῶν κορασίων αὐτοῦ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς λικμᾷ τὸν ἅλωνα τῶν κριθῶν ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτί(lxx) Rut 3:2 Now Boaz, whose young women you were with, is he not our relative? In fact, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:3 ============ Rut 3:3 Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.(nasb) Rut 3:3 Lavare igitur, et ungere, et induere cultioribus vestimentis, et descende in aream: non te videat homo, donec esum potumque finierit.(vulgate) Rut 3:3 Te lavarás pues, y te ungirás, y te pondrás tu vestido y bajarás a la era; [pero] no te darás a conocer al varón hasta que él haya acabado de comer y de beber.(E) Ruth 3:3 Lave-toi et oins-toi, puis remets tes habits, et descends à l'aire. Tu ne te feras pas connaître à lui, jusqu'à ce qu'il ait achevé de manger et de boire.(F) Rut 3:3 So bade dich und salbe dich und lege dein Kleid an und gehe hinab auf die Tenne; gib dich dem Manne nicht zu erkennen, bis er ganz gegessen und getrunken hat.(D) Rut 3:3 σὺ δὲ λούσῃ καὶ ἀλείψῃ καὶ περιθήσεις τὸν ἱματισμόν σου ἐπὶ σεαυτῇ καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ἐπὶ τὸν ἅλω μὴ γνωρισθῇς τῷ ἀνδρὶ ἕως οὗ συντελέσαι αὐτὸν πιεῖν καὶ φαγεῖν(lxx) Rut 3:3 Therefore wash yourself and anoint yourself, put on your best garment and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:4 ============ Rut 3:4 It shall be when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies, and you shall go and uncover his feet and lie down; then he will tell you what you shall do."(nasb) Rut 3:4 Quando autem ierit ad dormiendum, nota locum in quo dormiat: veniesque et discooperies pallium, quo operitur a parte pedum, et projicies te, et ibi jacebis: ipse autem dicet quid agere debeas.(vulgate) Rut 3:4 Y cuando él se acostare, observa tú el lugar donde él se acuesta, e irás, y descubrirás sus pies, y te acostarás allí; y él te dirá lo que debes hacer.(E) Ruth 3:4 Et quand il ira se coucher, observe le lieu où il se couche. Ensuite va, découvre ses pieds, et couche-toi. Il te dira lui-même ce que tu as à faire.(F) Rut 3:4 Wenn er sich dann legt, so merke den Ort, da er sich hin legt, und komm und decke auf zu seinen Füßen und lege dich, so wird er dir wohl sagen, was du tun sollst.(D) Rut 3:4 καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῷ κοιμηθῆναι αὐτόν καὶ γνώσῃ τὸν τόπον ὅπου κοιμᾶται ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐλεύσῃ καὶ ἀποκαλύψεις τὰ πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ κοιμηθήσῃ καὶ αὐτὸς ἀπαγγελεῖ σοι ἃ ποιήσεις(lxx) Rut 3:4 Then it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies; and you shall go in, uncover his feet, and lie down; and he will tell you what you should do."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:5 ============ Rut 3:5 She said to her, "All that you say I will do."(nasb) Rut 3:5 Quæ respondit: Quidquid præceperis, faciam.(vulgate) Rut 3:5 Y ella le respondió: Haré todo lo que tú me dices.(E) Ruth 3:5 Elle lui répondit: Je ferai tout ce que tu as dit.(F) Rut 3:5 Sie sprach zu ihr: Alles, was du mir sagst, will ich tun.(D) Rut 3:5 εἶπεν δὲ Ρουθ πρὸς αὐτήν πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃς ποιήσω(lxx) Rut 3:5 And she said to her, "All that you say to me I will do."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:6 ============ Rut 3:6 So she went down to the threshing floor and did according to all that her mother-in-law had commanded her.(nasb) Rut 3:6 Descenditque in aream, et fecit omnia quæ sibi imperaverat socrus.~(vulgate) Rut 3:6 Descendió, pues, a la era, e hizo todo lo que su suegra le había mandado.(E) Ruth 3:6 Elle descendit à l'aire, et fit tout ce qu'avait ordonné sa belle-mère.(F) Rut 3:6 Sie ging hinab zur Tenne und tat alles, wie ihre Schwiegermutter geboten hatte.(D) Rut 3:6 καὶ κατέβη εἰς τὸν ἅλω καὶ ἐποίησεν κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο αὐτῇ ἡ πενθερὰ αὐτῆς(lxx) Rut 3:6 So she went down to the threshing floor and did according to all that her mother-in-law instructed her.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:7 ============ Rut 3:7 When Boaz had eaten and drunk and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain; and she came secretly, and uncovered his feet and lay down.(nasb) Rut 3:7 Cumque comedisset Booz, et bibisset, et factus esset hilarior, issetque ad dormiendum juxta acervum manipulorum, venit abscondite, et discooperto pallio, a pedibus ejus se projecit.(vulgate) Rut 3:7 Y cuando Boaz hubo comido y bebido, y su corazón estuvo contento, se retiró a dormir a un lado del montón de grano. Entonces ella vino calladamente, y le descubrió los pies y se acostó.(E) Ruth 3:7 Boaz mangea et but, et son coeur était joyeux. Il alla se coucher à l'extrémité d'un tas de gerbes. Ruth vint alors tout doucement, découvrit ses pieds, et se coucha.(F) Rut 3:7 Und da Boas gegessen und getrunken hatte, ward sein Herz guter Dinge, und er kam und legte sich hinter einen Kornhaufen; und sie kam leise und deckte auf zu seinen Füßen und legte sich.(D) Rut 3:7 καὶ ἔφαγεν Βοος καὶ ἠγαθύνθη ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦλθεν κοιμηθῆναι ἐν μερίδι τῆς στοιβῆς ἡ δὲ ἦλθεν κρυφῇ καὶ ἀπεκάλυψεν τὰ πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ(lxx) Rut 3:7 And after Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was cheerful, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain; and she came softly, uncovered his feet, and lay down.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:8 ============ Rut 3:8 It happened in the middle of the night that the man was startled and bent forward; and behold, a woman was lying at his feet.(nasb) Rut 3:8 Et ecce, nocte jam media expavit homo, et conturbatus est: viditque mulierem jacentem ad pedes suos,(vulgate) Rut 3:8 Y aconteció, que a la media noche se estremeció aquel hombre, y palpó; y he aquí, la mujer que estaba acostada a sus pies.(E) Ruth 3:8 Au milieu de la nuit, cet homme eut une frayeur; il se pencha, et voici, une femme était couchée à ses pieds.(F) Rut 3:8 Da es nun Mitternacht ward, erschrak der Mann und beugte sich vor; und siehe, ein Weib lag zu seinen Füßen.(D) Rut 3:8 ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ μεσονυκτίῳ καὶ ἐξέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ καὶ ἐταράχθη καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ κοιμᾶται πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ(lxx) Rut 3:8 Now it happened at midnight that the man was startled, and turned himself; and there, a woman was lying at his feet.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:9 ============ Rut 3:9 He said, "Who are you?" And she answered, "I am Ruth your maid. So spread your covering over your maid, for you are a close relative."(nasb) Rut 3:9 et ait illi: Quæ es? Illaque respondit: Ego sum Ruth ancilla tua: expande pallium tuum super famulam tuam, quia propinquus es.(vulgate) Rut 3:9 Entonces él dijo: ¿Quién eres? Y ella respondió: Yo soy Ruth tu sierva; extiende el borde de tu capa sobre tu sierva, por cuanto [eres] pariente redentor.(E) Ruth 3:9 Il dit: Qui es-tu? Elle répondit: Je suis Ruth, ta servante; étends ton aile sur ta servante, car tu as droit de rachat.(F) Rut 3:9 Und er sprach: Wer bist du? Sie antwortete: Ich bin Rut deine Magd. Breite deine Decke über deine Magd; denn du bist der Erbe.(D) Rut 3:9 εἶπεν δέ τίς εἶ σύ ἡ δὲ εἶπεν ἐγώ εἰμι Ρουθ ἡ δούλη σου καὶ περιβαλεῖς τὸ πτερύγιόν σου ἐπὶ τὴν δούλην σου ὅτι ἀγχιστεὺς εἶ σύ(lxx) Rut 3:9 And he said, "Who are you?" So she answered, "I am Ruth, your maidservant. Take your maidservant under your wing, for you are a close relative."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:10 ============ Rut 3:10 Then he said, "May you be blessed of the Lord, my daughter. You have shown your last kindness to be better than the first by not going after young men, whether poor or rich.(nasb) Rut 3:10 Et ille: Benedicta, inquit, es a Domino, filia, et priorem misericordiam posteriore superasti: quia non est secuta juvenes, pauperes sive divites.(vulgate) Rut 3:10 Y él dijo: Bendita [seas] tú de Jehová, hija mía; [pues] has hecho mejor tu postrera gracia que la primera, no yendo tras los jóvenes, sean pobres o ricos.(E) Ruth 3:10 Et il dit: Sois bénie de l'Eternel, ma fille! Ce dernier trait témoigne encore plus en ta faveur que le premier, car tu n'as pas recherché des jeunes gens, pauvres ou riches.(F) Rut 3:10 Er aber sprach: Gesegnet seist du dem HERRN, meine Tochter! Du hast deine Liebe hernach besser gezeigt den zuvor, daß du bist nicht den Jünglingen nachgegangen, weder reich noch arm.(D) Rut 3:10 καὶ εἶπεν Βοος εὐλογημένη σὺ τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ θύγατερ ὅτι ἠγάθυνας τὸ ἔλεός σου τὸ ἔσχατον ὑπὲρ τὸ πρῶτον τὸ μὴ πορευθῆναί σε ὀπίσω νεανιῶν εἴτοι πτωχὸς εἴτοι πλούσιος(lxx) Rut 3:10 Then he said, "Blessed are you of the Lord, my daughter! For you have shown more kindness at the end than at the beginning, in that you did not go after young men, whether poor or rich.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:11 ============ Rut 3:11 Now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you whatever you ask, for all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence.(nasb) Rut 3:11 Noli ergo metuere, sed quidquid dixeris mihi, faciam tibi. Scit enim omnis populus, qui habitat intra portas urbis meæ, mulierem te esse virtutis.(vulgate) Rut 3:11 Ahora, pues, no temas, hija mía: yo haré contigo lo que me pidas, pues toda la gente de mi pueblo sabe que eres una mujer virtuosa.(E) Ruth 3:11 Maintenant, ma fille, ne crains point; je ferai pour toi tout ce que tu diras; car toute la porte de mon peuple sait que tu es une femme vertueuse.(F) Rut 3:11 Nun, meine Tochter, fürchte dich nicht. Alles was du sagst, will ich dir tun; denn die ganze Stadt meines Volkes weiß, daß du ein tugendsam Weib bist.(D) Rut 3:11 καὶ νῦν θύγατερ μὴ φοβοῦ πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃς ποιήσω σοι οἶδεν γὰρ πᾶσα φυλὴ λαοῦ μου ὅτι γυνὴ δυνάμεως εἶ σύ(lxx) Rut 3:11 And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you request, for all the people of my town know that you are a virtuous woman.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:12 ============ Rut 3:12 Now it is true I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I.(nasb) Rut 3:12 Nec abnuo me propinquum, sed est alius me propinquior.(vulgate) Rut 3:12 Y ahora, aunque es cierto que yo [soy tu] pariente redentor, con todo eso hay un pariente redentor más cercano que yo.(E) Ruth 3:12 Il est bien vrai que j'ai droit de rachat, mais il en existe un autre plus proche que moi.(F) Rut 3:12 Nun, es ist wahr, daß ich der Erbe bin; aber es ist einer näher denn ich.(D) Rut 3:12 καὶ ὅτι ἀληθῶς ἀγχιστεὺς ἐγώ εἰμι καί γε ἔστιν ἀγχιστεὺς ἐγγίων ὑπὲρ ἐμέ(lxx) Rut 3:12 Now it is true that I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:13 ============ Rut 3:13 Remain this night, and when morning comes, if he will redeem you, good; let him redeem you. But if he does not wish to redeem you, then I will redeem you, as the Lord lives. Lie down until morning."(nasb) Rut 3:13 Quiesce hac nocte: et facto mane, si te voluerit propinquitatis jure retinere, bene res acta est: sin autem ille noluerit, ego te absque ulla dubitatione suscipiam, vivit Dominus. Dormi usque mane.(vulgate) Rut 3:13 Quédate esta noche, y cuando sea de día, si él te redimiere, bien, que te redima; mas si él no te quisiere redimir, yo te redimiré, vive Jehová. Descansa, pues, hasta la mañana.(E) Ruth 3:13 Passe ici la nuit. Et demain, s'il veut user envers toi du droit de rachat, à la bonne heure, qu'il le fasse; mais s'il ne lui plaît pas d'en user envers toi, j'en userai, moi, l'Eternel est vivant! Reste couchée jusqu'au matin.(F) Rut 3:13 Bleibe über Nacht. Morgen, so er dich nimmt, wohl; gelüstet's ihn aber nicht, dich zu nehmen, so will ich dich nehmen, so wahr der HERR lebt. Schlaf bis zum Morgen.(D) Rut 3:13 αὐλίσθητι τὴν νύκτα καὶ ἔσται τὸ πρωί ἐὰν ἀγχιστεύσῃ σε ἀγαθόν ἀγχιστευέτω ἐὰν δὲ μὴ βούληται ἀγχιστεῦσαί σε ἀγχιστεύσω σε ἐγώ ζῇ κύριος κοιμήθητι ἕως πρωί(lxx) Rut 3:13 Stay this night, and in the morning it shall be that if he will perform the duty of a close relative for you--good; let him do it. But if he does not want to perform the duty for you, then I will perform the duty for you, as the Lord lives! Lie down until morning."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:14 ============ Rut 3:14 So she lay at his feet until morning and rose before one could recognize another; and he said, "Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor."(nasb) Rut 3:14 Dormivit itaque ad pedes ejus, usque ad noctis abscessum. Surrexit itaque antequam homines se cognoscerent mutuo, et dixit Booz: Cave ne quis noverit quod huc veneris.(vulgate) Rut 3:14 Y ella durmió a sus pies hasta la mañana, y se levantó antes que alguno pudiese reconocer al otro. Y él dijo: Que no se sepa que vino mujer a la era.(E) Ruth 3:14 Elle resta couchée à ses pieds jusqu'au matin, et elle se leva avant qu'on pût se reconnaître l'un l'autre. Boaz dit: Qu'on ne sache pas qu'une femme est entrée dans l'aire.(F) Rut 3:14 Und sie schlief bis zum Morgen zu seinen Füßen. Und sie stand auf, ehe denn einer den andern erkennen konnte; und er gedachte, daß nur niemand innewerde, daß das Weib in die Tenne gekommen sei.(D) Rut 3:14 καὶ ἐκοιμήθη πρὸς ποδῶν αὐτοῦ ἕως πρωί ἡ δὲ ἀνέστη πρὸ τοῦ ἐπιγνῶναι ἄνδρα τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν Βοος μὴ γνωσθήτω ὅτι ἦλθεν γυνὴ εἰς τὸν ἅλωνα(lxx) Rut 3:14 So she lay at his feet until morning, and she arose before one could recognize another. Then he said, "Do not let it be known that the woman came to the threshing floor."(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:15 ============ Rut 3:15 Again he said, "Give me the cloak that is on you and hold it." So she held it, and he measured six measures of barley and laid it on her. Then she went into the city.(nasb) Rut 3:15 Et rursum: Expande, inquit, pallium tuum, quo operiris, et tene utraque manu. Qua extendente, et tenente, mensus est sex modios hordei, et posuit super eam. Quæ portans ingressa est civitatem,(vulgate) Rut 3:15 Después le dijo: Dame el lienzo que [traes] sobre ti, y sostenlo. Y sosteniéndolo ella, él midió seis [medidas] de cebada, y [las] puso sobre ella; y ella se fue a la ciudad.(E) Ruth 3:15 Et il ajouta: Donne le manteau qui est sur toi, et tiens-le. Elle le tint, et il mesura six mesures d'orge, qu'il chargea sur elle. Puis il rentra dans la ville.(F) Rut 3:15 Und sprach: Lange her den Mantel, den du anhast, und halt ihn. Und sie hielt ihn. Und er maß sechs Maß Gerste und legte es auf sie. Und er kam in die Stadt.(D) Rut 3:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ φέρε τὸ περίζωμα τὸ ἐπάνω σου καὶ ἐκράτησεν αὐτό καὶ ἐμέτρησεν ἓξ κριθῶν καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν πόλιν(lxx) Rut 3:15 Also he said, "Bring the shawl that is on you and hold it." And when she held it, he measured six ephahs of barley, and laid it on her. Then she went into the city.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:16 ============ Rut 3:16 When she came to her mother-in-law, she said, "How did it go, my daughter?" And she told her all that the man had done for her.(nasb) Rut 3:16 et venit ad socrum suam. Quæ dixit ei: Quid egisti, filia? Narravitque ei omnia, quæ sibi fecisset homo.(vulgate) Rut 3:16 Y cuando llegó a [donde estaba] su suegra, ésta le dijo: ¿Qué, pues, hija mía? Y ella le contó todo lo que aquel varón había hecho por ella.(E) Ruth 3:16 Ruth revint auprès de sa belle-mère, et Naomi dit: Est-ce toi, ma fille? Ruth lui raconta tout ce que cet homme avait fait pour elle.(F) Rut 3:16 Sie aber kam zu ihrer Schwiegermutter; die sprach: Wie steht's mit dir, meine Tochter? Und sie sagte ihr alles, was ihr der Mann getan hatte,(D) Rut 3:16 καὶ Ρουθ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτῆς ἡ δὲ εἶπεν τίς εἶ θύγατερ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν αὐτῇ ὁ ἀνήρ(lxx) Rut 3:16 So when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, "Is that you, my daughter?" Then she told her all that the man had done for her.(nkjv) ======= Ruth 3:17 ============ Rut 3:17 She said, "These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said, 'Do not go to your mother-in-law empty-handed.'"(nasb) Rut 3:17 Et ait: Ecce sex modios hordei dedit mihi, et ait: Nolo vacuam te reverti ad socrum tuam.(vulgate) Rut 3:17 Y dijo: Estas seis [medidas] de cebada me dio, diciéndome: Para que no vayas a tu suegra con las manos vacías.(E) Ruth 3:17 Elle dit: Il m'a donné ces six mesures d'orge, en disant: Tu ne retourneras pas à vide vers ta belle-mère.(F) Rut 3:17 und sprach: Diese sechs Maß Gerste gab er mir; denn er sprach: Du sollst nicht leer zu deiner Schwiegermutter kommen.(D) Rut 3:17 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ τὰ ἓξ τῶν κριθῶν ταῦτα ἔδωκέν μοι ὅτι εἶπεν πρός με μὴ εἰσέλθῃς κενὴ πρὸς τὴν πενθεράν σου(lxx) Rut 3:17 And she said, "These six ephahs of barley he gave me; for he said to me, 'Do not go empty-handed to your mother-in-law.'
