There was not a more handsome person than he among the children of Israel. From his shoulders upward he was taller than any of the people.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 9:3 ============ 1Sa 9:3 Now the donkeys of Kish, Saul's father, were lost. So Kish said to his son Saul, "Take now with you one of the servants, and arise, go search for the donkeys."(nasb) 1Sa 9:3 Perierant autem asinæ Cis patris Saul: et dixit Cis ad Saul filium suum: Tolle tecum unum de pueris, et consurgens vade, et quære asinas. And Kish said to his son Saul, "Please, take one of the servants with you, and arise, go and look for the donkeys."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 9:4 ============ 1Sa 9:4 He passed through the hill country of Ephraim and passed through the land of Shalishah, but they did not find them. Then they passed through the land of Shaalim, but they were not there. Now let us go there, perhaps he can tell us about our journey on which we have set out."(nasb) 1Sa 9:6 Qui ait ei: Ecce vir Dei est in civitate hac, vir nobilis: omne quod loquitur, sine ambiguitate venit. Nunc ergo eamus illuc, si forte indicet nobis de via nostra, propter quam venimus.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 9:6 Y él le respondió: He aquí ahora [hay] en esta ciudad un hombre de Dios, que [es] varón insigne; todo lo que él dice, sucede sin falta. So let us go there; perhaps he can show us the way that we should go."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 9:7 ============ 1Sa 9:7 Then Saul said to his servant, "But behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread is gone from our sack and there is no present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?"(nasb) 1Sa 9:7 Dixitque Saul ad puerum suum: Ecce ibimus: quid feremus ad virum Dei? panis defecit in sitarciis nostris, et sportulam non habemus ut demus homini Dei, nec quidquam aliud.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 9:7 Y Saúl respondió a su criado: Vamos ahora: ¿mas qué llevaremos al varón? Denn das Brot ist dahin aus unserm Sack; so haben wir sonst keine Gabe, die wir dem Mann Gottes bringen. Was haben wir?(D) 1Sa 9:7 καὶ εἶπεν Σαουλ τῷ παιδαρίῳ αὐτοῦ τῷ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰδοὺ πορευσόμεθα καὶ τί οἴσομεν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ ὅτι οἱ ἄρτοι ἐκλελοίπασιν ἐκ τῶν ἀγγείων ἡμῶν καὶ πλεῖον οὐκ ἔστιν μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν εἰσενεγκεῖν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ τὸ ὑπάρχον ἡμῖν(lxx) 1Sa 9:7 Then Saul said to his servant, "But look, if we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread in our vessels is all gone, and there is no present to bring to the man of God. Zu denselben sprachen sie: Ist der Seher hier?(D) 1Sa 9:11 αὐτῶν ἀναβαινόντων τὴν ἀνάβασιν τῆς πόλεως καὶ αὐτοὶ εὑρίσκουσιν τὰ κοράσια ἐξεληλυθότα ὑδρεύσασθαι ὕδωρ καὶ λέγουσιν αὐταῖς εἰ ἔστιν ἐνταῦθα ὁ βλέπων(lxx) 1Sa 9:11 As they went up the hill to the city, they met some young women going out to draw water, and said to them, "Is the seer here?"(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 9:12 ============ 1Sa 9:12 They answered them and said, "He is; see, he is ahead of you. Hurry now; for today he came to this city, because there is a sacrifice of the people today on the high place.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 9:13 ============ 1Sa 9:13 As soon as you enter the city you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat, for the people will not eat until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited will eat. Now therefore, go up for you will find him at once."(nasb) 1Sa 9:13 Ingredientes urbem, statim invenietis eum antequam ascendat excelsum ad vescendum, neque enim comesurus est populus donec ille veniat: quia ipse benedicit hostiæ, et deinceps comedunt qui vocati sunt. Nunc ergo conscendite, quia hodie reperietis eum.~(vulgate) 1 Samuel 9:13 Y cuando entrareis en la ciudad, le encontraréis luego, antes que suba al lugar alto a comer; pues el pueblo no comerá hasta que él haya venido, porque él es quien bendice el sacrificio; y después comerán los convidados. Subid, pues, ahora, porque ahora le hallaréis.(E) 1 Samuel 9:13 Quand vous serez entrés dans la ville, vous le trouverez avant qu'il monte au haut lieu pour manger; car le peuple ne mangera point qu'il ne soit arrivé, parce qu'il doit bénir le sacrifice; après quoi, les conviés mangeront. Montez donc, car maintenant vous le trouverez.(F) 1Sa 9:13 Wenn ihr in die Stadt kommt, so werdet ihr ihn finden, ehe denn er hinaufgeht auf die Höhe, zu essen. Denn das Volk wird nicht essen, bis er komme, sintemal er segnet das Opfer; darnach essen die, so geladen sind. Darum geht hinauf, denn jetzt werdet ihr ihn eben antreffen.(D) 1Sa 9:13 ὡς ἂν εἰσέλθητε τὴν πόλιν οὕτως εὑρήσετε αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ πόλει πρὶν ἀναβῆναι αὐτὸν εἰς Βαμα τοῦ φαγεῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ φάγῃ ὁ λαὸς ἕως τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν αὐτόν ὅτι οὗτος εὐλογεῖ τὴν θυσίαν καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐσθίουσιν οἱ ξένοι καὶ νῦν ἀνάβητε ὅτι διὰ τὴν ἡμέραν εὑρήσετε αὐτόν(lxx) 1Sa 9:13 As soon as you come into the city, you will surely find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited will eat. Now therefore, go up, for about this time you will find him."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 9:14 ============ 1Sa 9:14 So they went up to the city. As they came into the city, behold, Samuel was coming out toward them to go up to the high place.(nasb) 1Sa 9:14 Et ascenderunt in civitatem. Cumque illi ambularent in medio urbis, apparuit Samuel egrediens obviam eis, ut ascenderet in excelsum.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 9:14 Ellos entonces subieron a la ciudad; y cuando en medio de la ciudad estuvieron, he aquí Samuel que delante de ellos salía para subir al lugar alto.(E) 1 Samuel 9:14 Et ils montèrent à la ville. And for whom is all that is desirable in Israel? "(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 9:24 ============ 1Sa 9:24 Then the cook took up the leg with what was on it and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, "Here is what has been reserved! Set it before you and eat, because it has been kept for you until the appointed time, since I said I have invited the people." So Saul ate with Samuel that day.(nasb) 1Sa 9:24 Levavit autem cocus armum, et posuit ante Saul. Dixitque Samuel: Ecce quod remansit: pone ante te, et comede, quia de industria servatum est tibi quando populum vocavi. And Samuel said, "Here it is, what was kept back. It was set apart for you. Eat; for until this time it has been kept for you, since I said I invited the people."
