O Absalom, my son, my son!"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:5 ============ 2Sa 19:5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "Today you have covered with shame the faces of all your servants, who today have saved your life and the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines,(nasb) 2Sa 19:5 Ingressus ergo Joab ad regem in domum, dixit: Confudisti hodie vultus omnium servorum tuorum, qui salvam fecerunt animam tuam, et animam filiorum tuorum et filiarum tuarum, et animam uxorum tuarum, et animam concubinarum tuarum.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 19:5 Y entrando Joab en casa al rey, le dijo: Hoy has avergonzado el rostro de todos tus siervos, que hoy han librado tu vida, y la vida de tus hijos y de tus hijas, y la vida de tus esposas, y la vida de tus concubinas,(E) 2 Samuel 19:5 Joab entra dans la chambre où était le roi, et dit: Tu couvres aujourd'hui de confusion la face de tous tes serviteurs, qui ont aujourd'hui sauvé ta vie, celle de tes fils et de tes filles, celle de tes femmes et de tes concubines.(F) 2Sa 19:5 Joab aber kam zum König ins Haus und sprach: Du hast heute schamrot gemacht alle deine Knechte, die heute deine, deiner Söhne, deiner Töchter, deiner Weiber und deiner Kebsweiber Seele errettet haben,(D) 2Sa 19:5 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ιωαβ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα εἰς τὸν οἶκον καὶ εἶπεν κατῄσχυνας σήμερον τὸ πρόσωπον πάντων τῶν δούλων σου τῶν ἐξαιρουμένων σε σήμερον καὶ τὴν ψυχὴν τῶν υἱῶν σου καὶ τῶν θυγατέρων σου καὶ τὴν ψυχὴν τῶν γυναικῶν σου καὶ τῶν παλλακῶν σου(lxx) 2Sa 19:5 Then Joab came into the house to the king, and said, "Today you have disgraced all your servants who today have saved your life, the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives and the lives of your concubines,(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:6 ============ 2Sa 19:6 by loving those who hate you, and by hating those who love you. For you have shown today that princes and servants are nothing to you; for I know this day that if Absalom were alive and all of us were dead today, then you would be pleased.(nasb) 2Sa 19:6 Diligis odientes te, et odio habes diligentes te: et ostendisti hodie quia non curas de ducibus tuis et de servis tuis: et vere cognovi modo, quia si Absalom viveret, et omnes nos occubuissemus, tunc placeret tibi.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 19:6 amando a los que te aborrecen, y aborreciendo a los que te aman: porque hoy has declarado que nada te importan tus príncipes y siervos; pues hoy echo de ver que si Absalón viviera, bien que nosotros todos estuviéramos hoy muertos, entonces estarías contento.(E) 2 Samuel 19:6 Tu aimes ceux qui te haïssent et tu hais ceux qui t'aiment, car tu montres aujourd'hui qu'il n'y a pour toi ni chefs ni serviteurs; et je vois maintenant que, si Absalom vivait et que nous fussions tous morts en ce jour, cela serait agréable à tes yeux.(F) 2Sa 19:6 daß du liebhast, die dich hassen, und haßt, die dich liebhaben. Denn du läßt heute merken, daß dir's nicht gelegen ist an den Hauptleuten und Knechten. Denn ich merke heute wohl: wenn dir nur Absalom lebte und wir heute alle tot wären, das wäre dir recht.(D) 2Sa 19:6 τοῦ ἀγαπᾶν τοὺς μισοῦντάς σε καὶ μισεῖν τοὺς ἀγαπῶντάς σε καὶ ἀνήγγειλας σήμερον ὅτι οὔκ εἰσιν οἱ ἄρχοντές σου οὐδὲ παῖδες ὅτι ἔγνωκα σήμερον ὅτι εἰ Αβεσσαλωμ ἔζη πάντες ἡμεῖς σήμερον νεκροί ὅτι τότε τὸ εὐθὲς ἦν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου(lxx) 2Sa 19:6 in that you love your enemies and hate your friends. For you have declared today that you regard neither princes nor servants; for today I perceive that if Absalom had lived and all of us had died today, then it would have pleased you well.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:7 ============ 2Sa 19:7 Now therefore arise, go out and speak kindly to your servants, for I swear by the Lord, if you do not go out, surely not a man will pass the night with you, and this will be worse for you than all the evil that has come upon you from your youth until now."(nasb) 2Sa 19:7 Nunc igitur surge, et procede, et alloquens satisfac servis tuis: juro enim tibi per Dominum quod si non exieris, ne unus quidem remansurus sit tecum nocte hac: et pejus erit hoc tibi quam omnia mala quæ venerunt super te ab adolescentia tua usque in præsens.~(vulgate) 2 Samuel 19:7 Levántate pues, ahora, y sal, y habla bondadosamente a tus siervos; porque juro por Jehová, que si no sales, no quedará ni uno contigo esta noche; y esto te será peor que todos los males que te han sobrevenido desde tu juventud hasta ahora.(E) 2 Samuel 19:7 Lève-toi donc, sors, et parle au coeur de tes serviteurs! Car je jure par l'Eternel que, si tu ne sors pas, il ne restera pas un homme avec toi cette nuit; et ce sera pour toi pire que tous les malheurs qui te sont arrivés depuis ta jeunesse jusqu'à présent.(F) 2Sa 19:7 So mache dich nun auf und gehe heraus und rede mit deinen Knechten freundlich. Denn ich schwöre dir bei dem HERRN: Wirst du nicht herausgehen, es wird kein Mann bei dir bleiben diese Nacht über. Das wird dir ärger sein denn alles Übel, das über dich gekommen ist von deiner Jugend auf bis hierher.(D) 2Sa 19:7 καὶ νῦν ἀναστὰς ἔξελθε καὶ λάλησον εἰς τὴν καρδίαν τῶν δούλων σου ὅτι ἐν κυρίῳ ὤμοσα ὅτι εἰ μὴ ἐκπορεύσῃ σήμερον εἰ αὐλισθήσεται ἀνὴρ μετὰ σοῦ τὴν νύκτα ταύτην καὶ ἐπίγνωθι σεαυτῷ καὶ κακόν σοι τοῦτο ὑπὲρ πᾶν τὸ κακὸν τὸ ἐπελθόν σοι ἐκ νεότητός σου ἕως τοῦ νῦν(lxx) 2Sa 19:7 Now therefore, arise, go out and speak comfort to your servants. For I swear by the Lord, if you do not go out, not one will stay with you this night. And that will be worse for you than all the evil that has befallen you from your youth until now."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:8 ============ 2Sa 19:8 So the king arose and sat in the gate. When they told all the people, saying, "Behold, the king is sitting in the gate," then all the people came before the king. Now Israel had fled, each to his tent.(nasb) 2Sa 19:8 Surrexit ergo rex et sedit in porta: et omni populo nuntiatum est quod rex sederet in porta. Venitque universa multitudo coram rege: Israël autem fugit in tabernacula sua.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 19:8 Entonces se levantó el rey, y se sentó a la puerta; y fue declarado a todo el pueblo, diciendo: He aquí el rey está sentado a la puerta. Y vino todo el pueblo delante del rey; mas Israel había huido, cada uno a su tienda.(E) 2 Samuel 19:8 Alors le roi se leva, et il s'assit à la porte. On fit dire à tout le peuple: Voici, le roi est assis à la porte. Et tout le peuple vint devant le roi. Cependant Israël s'était enfui, chacun dans sa tente.(F) 2Sa 19:8 Da machte sich der König auf und setzte sich ins Tor. Und man sagte es allem Volk: Siehe, der König sitzt im Tor. Da kam alles Volk vor den König. Aber Israel war geflohen, ein jeglicher in seine Hütte.(D) 2Sa 19:8 καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν τῇ πύλῃ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀνήγγειλαν λέγοντες ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεὺς κάθηται ἐν τῇ πύλῃ καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ Ισραηλ ἔφυγεν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὰ σκηνώματα αὐτοῦ(lxx) 2Sa 19:8 Then the king arose and sat in the gate. And they told all the people, saying, "There is the king, sitting in the gate." So all the people came before the king. For everyone of Israel had fled to his tent.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:9 ============ 2Sa 19:9 All the people were quarreling throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, "The king delivered us from the hand of our enemies and saved us from the hand of the Philistines, but now he has fled out of the land from Absalom.(nasb) 2Sa 19:9 Omnis quoque populus certabat in cunctis tribubus Israël, dicens: Rex liberavit nos de manu inimicorum nostrorum; ipse salvavit nos de manu Philisthinorum: et nunc fugit de terra propter Absalom.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 19:9 Y todo el pueblo contendía por todas las tribus de Israel, diciendo: El rey nos ha librado de mano de nuestros enemigos, y él nos ha salvado de mano de los filisteos; pero ahora ha huido de la tierra por causa de Absalón.(E) 2 Samuel 19:9 Et dans toutes les tribus d'Israël, tout le peuple était en contestation, disant: Le roi nous a délivrés de la main de nos ennemis, c'est lui qui nous a sauvés de la main des Philistins; et maintenant il a dû fuir du pays devant Absalom.(F) 2Sa 19:9 Und es zankte sich alles Volk in allen Stämmen Israels und sprachen: Der König hat uns errettet von der Hand unsrer Feinde und erlöste uns von der Philister Hand und hat müssen aus dem Lande fliehen vor Absalom.(D) 2Sa 19:9 καὶ ἦν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς κρινόμενος ἐν πάσαις φυλαῖς Ισραηλ λέγοντες ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυιδ ἐρρύσατο ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν ἡμῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξείλατο ἡμᾶς ἐκ χειρὸς ἀλλοφύλων καὶ νῦν πέφευγεν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Αβεσσαλωμ(lxx) 2Sa 19:9 Now all the people were in a dispute throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, "The king saved us from the hand of our enemies, he delivered us from the hand of the Philistines, and now he has fled from the land because of Absalom.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:10 ============ 2Sa 19:10 However, Absalom, whom we anointed over us, has died in battle. Now therefore, why do you say nothing about bringing back the king?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:11 ============ 2Sa 19:11 Then King David sent to Zadok and Abiathar the priests, saying, "Speak to the elders of Judah, saying, 'Why are you the last to bring the king back to his house, since the word of all Israel has come to the king, even to his house?(nasb) 2Sa 19:11 Rex vero David misit ad Sadoc et Abiathar sacerdotes, dicens: Loquimini ad majores natu Juda, dicentes: Cur venitis novissimi ad reducendum regem in domum suam? Why then are you the last to bring back the king?'(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:13 ============ 2Sa 19:13 Say to Amasa, 'Are you not my bone and my flesh? May God do so to me, and more also, if you will not be commander of the army before me continually in place of Joab.'"(nasb) 2Sa 19:13 Et Amasæ dicite: Nonne os meum, et caro mea es? hæc faciat mihi Deus, et hæc addat, si non magister militiæ fueris coram me omni tempore pro Joab.~(vulgate) 2 Samuel 19:13 Asimismo diréis a Amasa: ¿No [eres] tú también hueso mío y carne mía? Así me haga Dios, y así me añada, si no has de ser general del ejército delante de mí para siempre, en lugar de Joab.(E) 2 Samuel 19:13 Vous direz aussi à Amasa: N'es-tu pas mon os et ma chair? God do so to me, and more also, if you are not commander of the army before me continually in place of Joab.' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:14 ============ 2Sa 19:14 Thus he turned the hearts of all the men of Judah as one man, so that they sent word to the king, saying, "Return, you and all your servants."(nasb) 2Sa 19:14 Et inclinavit cor omnium virorum Juda quasi viri unius: miseruntque ad regem, dicentes: Revertere tu, et omnes servi tui.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 19:14 Así inclinó el corazón de todos los varones de Judá, como el de un solo hombre, para que enviasen [a decir] al rey: Vuelve tú, y todos tus siervos.(E) 2 Samuel 19:14 David fléchit le coeur de tous ceux de Juda, comme s'ils n'eussent été qu'un seul homme; et ils envoyèrent dire au roi: Reviens, toi, et tous tes serviteurs.(F) 2Sa 19:14 Und er neigte das Herz aller Männer Juda's wie eines Mannes; und sie sandten hin zum König: Komm wieder, du und alle deine Knechte!(D) 2Sa 19:14 καὶ ἔκλινεν τὴν καρδίαν παντὸς ἀνδρὸς Ιουδα ὡς ἀνδρὸς ἑνός καὶ ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα λέγοντες ἐπιστράφητι σὺ καὶ πάντες οἱ δοῦλοί σου(lxx) 2Sa 19:14 So he swayed the hearts of all the men of Judah, just as the heart of one man, so that they sent this word to the king: "Return, you and all your servants!"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:15 ============ 2Sa 19:15 The king then returned and came as far as the Jordan. Why then did you treat us with contempt? Was it not our advice first to bring back our king?"
