But you are worth ten thousand of us; therefore now it is better that you be ready to help us from the city."(nasb) 2Sa 18:3 Et respondit populus: Non exibis: sive enim fugerimus, non magnopere ad eos de nobis pertinebit: sive media pars ceciderit e nobis, non satis curabunt, quia tu unus pro decem millibus computaris: melius est igitur ut sis nobis in urbe præsidio.(vulgate) 2 Samuel 18:3 Mas el pueblo dijo: No saldrás; porque si nosotros huyéremos, no harán caso de nosotros; y aunque la mitad de nosotros muera, no harán caso de nosotros; pero tú ahora vales tanto como diez mil de nosotros. For if we flee away, they will not care about us; nor if half of us die, will they care about us. But you are worth ten thousand of us now. For you are now more help to us in the city."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 18:4 ============ 2Sa 18:4 Then the king said to them, "Whatever seems best to you I will do." So the king stood beside the gate, and all the people went out by hundreds and thousands.(nasb) 2Sa 18:4 Ad quos rex ait: Quod vobis videtur rectum, hoc faciam. So the king stood beside the gate, and all the people went out by hundreds and by thousands.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 18:5 ============ 2Sa 18:5 The king charged Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, "Deal gently for my sake with the young man Absalom." And all the people heard when the king charged all the commanders concerning Absalom.(nasb) 2Sa 18:5 Et præcepit rex Joab, et Abisai, et Ethai, dicens: Servate mihi puerum Absalom. Et omnis populus audiebat præcipientem regem cunctis principibus pro Absalom.~(vulgate) 2 Samuel 18:5 Y el rey mandó a Joab y a Abisai y a Itai, diciendo: [Tratad] benignamente por amor a mí al joven Absalón. For Absalom was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the thick branches of a great oak. Absalom rode on a mule. The mule went under the thick boughs of a great terebinth tree, and his head caught in the terebinth; so he was left hanging between heaven and earth. Why then did you not strike him there to the ground? For there is nothing hidden from the king, and you yourself would have set yourself against me."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 18:14 ============ 2Sa 18:14 Then Joab said, "I will not waste time here with you." So he took three spears in his hand and thrust them through the heart of Absalom while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.(nasb) 2Sa 18:14 Et ait Joab: Non sicut tu vis, sed aggrediar eum coram te. And thus he said as he walked, "O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom!
