And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant which had been found in the house of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 23:3 ============ 2Ki 23:3 The king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people entered into the covenant.(nasb) 2Ki 23:3 Stetitque rex super gradum: et fœdus percussit coram Domino, ut ambularent post Dominum, et custodirent præcepta ejus, et testimonia, et cæremonias in omni corde, et in tota anima, et suscitarent verba fœderis hujus, quæ scripta erant in libro illo: acquievitque populus pacto.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 23:3 Y el rey se puso en pie junto a la columna, e hizo pacto delante de Jehová, de que irían en pos de Jehová, y guardarían sus mandamientos, y sus testimonios, y sus estatutos con todo [su] corazón y con toda [su] alma, y que cumplirían las palabras del pacto que estaban escritas en aquel libro. Y todo el pueblo confirmó el pacto.(E) 2 Rois 23:3 Le roi se tenait sur l'estrade, et il traita alliance devant l'Eternel, s'engageant à suivre l'Eternel, et à observer ses ordonnances, ses préceptes et ses lois, de tout son coeur et de toute son âme, afin de mettre en pratique les paroles de cette alliance, écrites dans ce livre. Et tout le peuple entra dans l'alliance.(F) 2Ki 23:3 Und der König trat an die Säule und machte einen Bund vor dem HERRN, daß sie sollten wandeln dem HERRN nach und halten seine Gebote, Zeugnisse und Rechte von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, daß sie aufrichteten die Worte dieses Bundes, die geschrieben standen in diesem Buch. And all the people took a stand for the covenant.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 23:4 ============ 2Ki 23:4 Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.(nasb) 2Ki 23:4 Et præcepit rex Helciæ pontifici, et sacerdotibus secundi ordinis, et janitoribus, ut projicerent de templo Domini omnia vasa quæ facta fuerant Baal, et in luco, et universæ militiæ cæli: et combussit ea foris Jerusalem in convalle Cedron, et tulit pulverem eorum in Bethel.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 23:4 Entonces mandó el rey al sumo sacerdote Hilcías, y a los sacerdotes de segundo orden, y a los guardianes de la puerta, que sacasen del templo de Jehová todos los vasos que habían sido hechos para Baal, para Asera, y para todo el ejército del cielo; y los quemó fuera de Jerusalén en el campo de Cedrón, e hizo llevar las cenizas de ellos a Betel.(E) 2 Rois 23:4 Le roi ordonna à Hilkija, le souverain sacrificateur, aux sacrificateurs du second ordre, et à ceux qui gardaient le seuil, de sortir du temple de l'Eternel tous les ustensiles qui avaient été faits pour Baal, pour Astarté, et pour toute l'armée des cieux; et il les brûla hors de Jérusalem, dans les champs du Cédron, et en fit porter la poussière à Béthel.(F) 2Ki 23:4 Und der König gebot dem Hohenpriester Hilkia und den nächsten Priestern nach ihm und den Hütern an der Schwelle, daß sie sollten aus dem Tempel des HERRN tun alle Geräte, die dem Baal und der Aschera und allem Heer des Himmels gemacht waren. Und sie verbrannten sie außen vor Jerusalem im Tal Kidron, und ihr Staub ward getragen gen Beth-El.(D) 2Ki 23:4 καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Χελκια τῷ ἱερεῖ τῷ μεγάλῳ καὶ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν τῆς δευτερώσεως καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὸν σταθμὸν τοῦ ἐξαγαγεῖν ἐκ τοῦ ναοῦ κυρίου πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ πεποιημένα τῷ Βααλ καὶ τῷ ἄλσει καὶ πάσῃ τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ κατέκαυσεν αὐτὰ ἔξω Ιερουσαλημ ἐν σαδημωθ Κεδρων καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν χοῦν αὐτῶν εἰς Βαιθηλ(lxx) 2Ki 23:4 And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 23:5 ============ 2Ki 23:5 He did away with the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had appointed to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah and in the surrounding area of Jerusalem, also those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun and to the moon and to the constellations and to all the host of heaven.(nasb) 2Ki 23:5 Et delevit aruspices quos posuerant reges Juda ad sacrificandum in excelsis per civitates Juda, et in circuitu Jerusalem: et eos qui adolebant incensum Baal, et soli, et lunæ, et duodecim signis, et omni militiæ cæli.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 23:5 Y quitó a los sacerdotes idólatras que habían puesto los reyes de Judá para que quemasen incienso en los lugares altos en las ciudades de Judá, y en los alrededores de Jerusalén; y asimismo a los que quemaban incienso a Baal, al sol y a la luna, y a los signos del zodiaco y a todo el ejército del cielo.(E) 2 Rois 23:5 Il chassa les prêtres des idoles, établis par les rois de Juda pour brûler des parfums sur les hauts lieux dans les villes de Juda et aux environs de Jérusalem, et ceux qui offraient des parfums à Baal, au soleil, à la lune, au zodiaque et à toute l'armée des cieux.(F) 2Ki 23:5 Und er tat ab die Götzenpfaffen, welche die Könige Juda's hatten eingesetzt, zu räuchern auf den Höhen in den Städten Juda's und um Jerusalem her, auch die Räucherer des Baal und der Sonne und des Mondes und der Planeten und alles Heeres am Himmel.(D) 2Ki 23:5 καὶ κατέπαυσεν τοὺς χωμαριμ οὓς ἔδωκαν βασιλεῖς Ιουδα καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ τοῖς περικύκλῳ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τοὺς θυμιῶντας τῷ Βααλ καὶ τῷ ἡλίῳ καὶ τῇ σελήνῃ καὶ τοῖς μαζουρωθ καὶ πάσῃ τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ οὐρανοῦ(lxx) 2Ki 23:5 Then he removed the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places all around Jerusalem, and those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the constellations, and to all the host of heaven.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 23:6 ============ 2Ki 23:6 He brought out the Asherah from the house of the Lord outside Jerusalem to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and ground it to dust, and threw its dust on the graves of the common people.(nasb) 2Ki 23:6 Et efferri fecit lucum de domo Domini foras Jerusalem in convalle Cedron, et combussit eum ibi, et redegit in pulverem, et projecit super sepulchra vulgi.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 23:6 También sacó la imagen de Asera fuera de la casa de Jehová, fuera de Jerusalén, al torrente de Cedrón, y la quemó en el torrente de Cedrón, y la redujo a polvo, y echó el polvo de ella sobre los sepulcros de los hijos del pueblo.(E) 2 Rois 23:6 Il sortit de la maison de l'Eternel l'idole d'Astarté, qu'il transporta hors de Jérusalem vers le torrent de Cédron; il la brûla au torrent de Cédron et la réduisit en poussière, et il en jeta la poussière sur les sépulcres des enfants du peuple.(F) 2Ki 23:6 Und ließ das Ascherabild aus dem Hause des HERRN führen hinaus vor Jerusalem an den Bach Kidron und verbrannte es am Bach Kidron und machte es zu Staub und man warf den Staub auf die Gräber der gemeinen Leute.(D) 2Ki 23:6 καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν τὸ ἄλσος ἐξ οἴκου κυρίου ἔξωθεν Ιερουσαλημ εἰς τὸν χειμάρρουν Κεδρων καὶ κατέκαυσεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ χειμάρρῳ Κεδρων καὶ ἐλέπτυνεν εἰς χοῦν καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸν χοῦν αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν τάφον τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ λαοῦ(lxx) 2Ki 23:6 And he brought out the wooden image from the house of the Lord, to the Brook Kidron outside Jerusalem, burned it at the Brook Kidron and ground it to ashes, and threw its ashes on the graves of the common people.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 23:7 ============ 2Ki 23:7 He also broke down the houses of the male cult prostitutes which were in the house of the Lord, where the women were weaving hangings for the Asherah.(nasb) 2Ki 23:7 Destruxit quoque ædiculas effeminatorum quæ erant in domo Domini, pro quibus mulieres texebant quasi domunculas luci.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 23:7 Además derribó las casas de los sodomitas que [estaban] en la casa de Jehová, en las cuales las mujeres tejían pabellones para Asera.(E) 2 Rois 23:7 Il abattit les maisons des prostitués qui étaient dans la maison de l'Eternel, et où les femmes tissaient des tentes pour Astarté.(F) 2Ki 23:7 Und er brach ab die Häuser der Hurer, die an dem Hause des HERRN waren, darin die Weiber wirkten Häuser für die Aschera.(D) 2Ki 23:7 καὶ καθεῖλεν τὸν οἶκον τῶν καδησιμ τῶν ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου οὗ αἱ γυναῖκες ὕφαινον ἐκεῖ χεττιιν τῷ ἄλσει(lxx) 2Ki 23:7 Then he tore down the ritual booths of the perverted persons that were in the house of the Lord, where the women wove hangings for the wooden image.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 23:8 ============ 2Ki 23:8 Then he brought all the priests from the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba; and he broke down the high places of the gates which were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on one’s left at the city gate.(nasb) 2Ki 23:8 Congregavitque omnes sacerdotes de civitatibus Juda, et contaminavit excelsa ubi sacrificabant sacerdotes de Gabaa usque Bersabee, et destruxit aras portarum in introitu ostii Josue principis civitatis, quod erat ad sinistram portæ civitatis.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 23:8 E hizo venir a todos los sacerdotes de las ciudades de Judá, y profanó los lugares altos donde los sacerdotes quemaban incienso, desde Geba hasta Beerseba; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 23:12 ============ 2Ki 23:12 The altars which were on the roof, the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord, the king broke down;
