So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. And David's servants came into the land of the sons of Ammon to Hanun to console him.(nasb) 1Ch 19:2 Dixitque David: Faciam misericordiam cum Hanon filio Naas: præstitit enim mihi pater ejus gratiam. Misitque David nuntios ad consolandum eum super morte patris sui. So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. And David's servants came to Hanun in the land of the people of Ammon to comfort him.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 19:3 ============ 1Ch 19:3 But the princes of the sons of Ammon said to Hanun, "Do you think that David is honoring your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Ja, seine Knechte sind gekommen zu dir, zu forschen und umzukehren und zu erkunden das Land.(D) 1Ch 19:3 καὶ εἶπον ἄρχοντες Αμμων πρὸς Αναν μὴ δοξάζων Δαυιδ τὸν πατέρα σου ἐναντίον σου ἀπέστειλέν σοι παρακαλοῦντας οὐχ ὅπως ἐξερευνήσωσιν τὴν πόλιν τοῦ κατασκοπῆσαι τὴν γῆν ἦλθον παῖδες αὐτοῦ πρὸς σέ(lxx) 1Ch 19:3 And the princes of the people of Ammon said to Hanun, "Do you think that David really honors your father because he has sent comforters to you? And he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly humiliated. And the king said, "Wait at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return."(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 19:6 ============ 1Ch 19:6 When the sons of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the sons of Ammon sent 1,000 talents of silver to hire for themselves chariots and horsemen from Mesopotamia, from Aram-maacah and from Zobah.(nasb) 1Ch 19:6 Videntes autem filii Ammon quod injuriam fecissent David, tam Hanon quam reliquus populus, miserunt mille talenta argenti, ut conducerent sibi de Mesopotamia, et de Syria Maacha, et de Soba currus et equites.(vulgate) 1 Crónicas 19:6 Y viendo los hijos de Amón que se habían hecho odiosos a David, Hanún y los hijos de Amón enviaron mil talentos de plata, para tomar a sueldo carros y gente de a caballo de Mesopotamia, de Siria, de Maaca y de Soba.(E) 1 Chroniques 19:6 Les fils d'Ammon virent qu'ils s'étaient rendus odieux à David, et Hanun et les fils d'Ammon envoyèrent mille talents d'argent pour prendre à leur solde des chars et des cavaliers chez les Syriens de Mésopotamie et chez les Syriens de Maaca et de Tsoba.(F) 1Ch 19:6 Da aber die Kinder Ammon sahen, daß sie waren stinkend geworden vor David, sandten sie hin, beide Hanon und die Kinder Ammon, tausend Zentner Silber, Wagen und Reiter zu dingen aus Mesopotamien, aus dem Syrien von Maacha und aus Zoba.(D) 1Ch 19:6 καὶ εἶδον οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων ὅτι ᾐσχύνθη λαὸς Δαυιδ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Αναν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων χίλια τάλαντα ἀργυρίου τοῦ μισθώσασθαι ἑαυτοῖς ἐκ Συρίας Μεσοποταμίας καὶ ἐκ Συρίας Μοοχα καὶ ἐκ Σωβα ἅρματα καὶ ἱππεῖς(lxx) 1Ch 19:6 When the people of Ammon saw that they had made themselves repulsive to David, Hanun and the people of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire for themselves chariots and horsemen from Mesopotamia, from Syrian Maachah, and from Zobah.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 19:7 ============ 1Ch 19:7 So they hired for themselves 32,000 chariots, and the king of Maacah and his people, who came and camped before Medeba. And the sons of Ammon gathered together from their cities and came to battle.(nasb) 1Ch 19:7 Conduxeruntque triginta duo millia curruum, et regem Maacha cum populo ejus. Qui cum venissent, castrametati sunt e regione Medaba. Filii quoque Ammon congregati de urbibus suis venerunt ad bellum.(vulgate) 1 Crónicas 19:7 Y tomaron a sueldo treinta y dos mil carros, y al rey de Maaca y a su pueblo, los cuales vinieron y acamparon delante de Medeba. Y se juntaron también los hijos de Amón de sus ciudades, y vinieron a la guerra.(E) 1 Chroniques 19:7 Ils prirent à leur solde trente-deux mille chars et le roi de Maaca avec son peuple, lesquels vinrent camper devant Médeba. Und die Kinder Ammon sammelten sich aus ihren Städten und kamen zum Streit.(D) 1Ch 19:7 καὶ ἐμισθώσαντο ἑαυτοῖς δύο καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδας ἁρμάτων καὶ τὸν βασιλέα Μωχα καὶ τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦλθον καὶ παρενέβαλον κατέναντι Μαιδαβα καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων συνήχθησαν ἐκ τῶν πόλεων αὐτῶν καὶ ἦλθον εἰς τὸ πολεμῆσαι(lxx) 1Ch 19:7 So they hired for themselves thirty-two thousand chariots, with the king of Maachah and his people, who came and encamped before Medeba. Die Könige aber, die gekommen waren, hielten im Felde besonders.(D) 1Ch 19:9 καὶ ἐξῆλθον οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων καὶ παρατάσσονται εἰς πόλεμον παρὰ τὸν πυλῶνα τῆς πόλεως καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς οἱ ἐλθόντες παρενέβαλον καθ᾽ ἑαυτοὺς ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ(lxx) 1Ch 19:9 Then the people of Ammon came out and put themselves in battle array before the gate of the city, and the kings who had come were by themselves in the field.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 19:10 ============ 1Ch 19:10 Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him in front and in the rear, he selected from all the choice men of Israel and they arrayed themselves against the Arameans.(nasb) 1Ch 19:10 Igitur Joab, intelligens bellum ex adverso et post tergum contra se fieri, elegit viros fortissimos de universo Israël, et perrexit contra Syrum.(vulgate) 1 Crónicas 19:10 Y viendo Joab que la batalla estaba contra él por el frente y por la retaguardia, escogió de los más aventajados que había en Israel, y ordenó [su escuadrón] contra los sirios.(E) 1 Chroniques 19:10 Joab vit qu'il avait à combattre par devant et par derrière. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.(nasb) 1Ch 19:15 Porro filii Ammon videntes quod fugisset Syrus, ipsi quoque fugerunt Abisai fratrem ejus, et ingressi sunt civitatem: reversusque est etiam Joab in Jerusalem.(vulgate) 1 Crónicas 19:15 Y los hijos de Amón, viendo que los sirios habían huido, huyeron también ellos delante de Abisai su hermano, y entraron en la ciudad. Thus the Arameans were not willing to help the sons of Ammon anymore.(nasb) 1Ch 19:19 Videntes autem servi Adarezer se ab Israël esse superatos, transfugerunt ad David, et servierunt ei: noluitque ultra Syria auxilium præbere filiis Ammon.(vulgate) 1 Crónicas 19:19 Y viendo los sirios de Hadad-ezer que habían caído delante de Israel, concertaron paz con David, y fueron sus siervos; y nunca más quiso el sirio ayudar a los hijos de Amón.(E) 1 Chroniques 19:19 Les serviteurs d'Hadarézer, se voyant battus par Israël, firent la paix avec David et lui furent assujettis. Und die Syrer wollten den Kindern Ammon nicht mehr helfen.(D) 1Ch 19:19 καὶ εἶδον παῖδες Αδρααζαρ ὅτι ἐπταίκασιν ἀπὸ προσώπου Ισραηλ καὶ διέθεντο μετὰ Δαυιδ καὶ ἐδούλευσαν αὐτῷ καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν Σύρος τοῦ βοηθῆσαι τοῖς υἱοῖς Αμμων ἔτι(lxx) 1Ch 19:19 And when the servants of Hadadezer saw that they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became his servants.
