Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 47:1 ============ Jer 47:1 That which came as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh conquered Gaza.(nasb) Jer 47:1 Quod factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam prophetam contra Palæstinos, antequam percuteret Pharao Gazam.(vulgate) Jeremías 47:1 Palabra de Jehová que vino al profeta Jeremías acerca de los filisteos, antes que Faraón hiriese a Gaza.(E) Jérémie 47:1 La parole de l'Eternel qui fut adressée à Jérémie, le prophète, sur les Philistins, avant que Pharaon frappât Gaza.(F) Jer 47:1 Dies ist das Wort des HERRN, das zum Propheten Jeremia geschah wider die Philister, ehe denn Pharao Gaza schlug.(D) Jer 47:1 ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος παρὰ κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ὕστερον μετὰ τὸ ἀποστεῖλαι αὐτὸν Ναβουζαρδαν τὸν ἀρχιμάγειρον τὸν ἐκ Δαμαν ἐν τῷ λαβεῖν αὐτὸν ἐν χειροπέδαις ἐν μέσῳ ἀποικίας Ιουδα τῶν ἠγμένων εἰς Βαβυλῶνα(lxx) Jer 47:1 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before Pharaoh attacked Gaza.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 47:2 ============ Jer 47:2 Thus says the Lord:" Behold, waters are going to rise from the north And become an overflowing torrent, And overflow the land and all its fullness, The city and those who live in it; And the men will cry out, And every inhabitant of the land will wail.(nasb) Jer 47:2 [Hæc dicit Dominus: Ecce aquæ ascendunt ab aquilone, et erunt quasi torrens inundans, et operient terram et plenitudinem ejus, urbem et habitatores ejus. Clamabunt homines, et ululabunt omnes habitatores terræ,(vulgate) Jeremías 47:2 Así dice Jehová: He aquí que suben aguas del norte, y se tornarán en torrente, e inundarán la tierra y su plenitud, ciudades y moradores de ellas; y los hombres clamarán, y aullará todo morador de la tierra.(E) Jérémie 47:2 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Voici, des eaux s'élèvent du septentrion, Elles sont comme un torrent qui déborde; Elles inondent le pays et ce qu'il contient, Les villes et leurs habitants. Les hommes poussent des cris, Tous les habitants du pays se lamentent,(F) Jer 47:2 So spricht der HERR: Siehe, es kommen Wasser herauf von Mitternacht, die eine Flut machen werden und das Land und was darin ist, die Städte und die, so darin wohnen, wegreißen werden, daß die leute werden schreien und alle Einwohner im Lande heulen(D) Jer 47:2 καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὸν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐλάλησεν τὰ κακὰ ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον(lxx) Jer 47:2 Thus says the Lord: "Behold, waters rise out of the north, And shall be an overflowing flood; They shall overflow the land and all that is in it, The city and those who dwell within; Then the men shall cry, And all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 47:3 ============ Jer 47:3 "Because of the noise of the galloping hoofs of his stallions, The tumult of his chariots, and the rumbling of his wheels, The fathers have not turned back for their children, Because of the limpness of their hands,(nasb) Jer 47:3 a strepitu pompæ armorum, et bellatorum ejus, a commotione quadrigarum ejus, et multitudine rotarum illius. Non respexerunt patres filios manibus dissolutis,(vulgate) Jeremías 47:3 Por el sonido de las uñas de sus fuertes, por el alboroto de sus carros, por el estruendo de sus ruedas, los padres no mirarán a los hijos por la flaqueza de las manos;(E) Jérémie 47:3 A cause du retentissement des sabots de ses puissants chevaux, Du bruit de ses chars et du fracas des roues; Les pères ne se tournent pas vers leurs enfants, Tant les mains sont affaiblies,(F) Jer 47:3 vor dem Getümmel ihrer starken Rosse, so dahertraben, und vor dem Rasseln ihrer Wagen und Poltern ihrer Räder; daß sich die Väter nicht werden umsehen nach den Kindern, so verzagt werden sie sein(D) Jer 47:3 καὶ ἐποίησεν κύριος ὅτι ἡμάρτετε αὐτῷ καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσατε αὐτοῦ τῆς φωνῆς(lxx) Jer 47:3 At the noise of the stamping hooves of his strong horses, At the rushing of his chariots, At the rumbling of his wheels, The fathers will not look back for their children, Lacking courage,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 47:4 ============ Jer 47:4 On account of the day that is coming To destroy all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and Sidon Every ally that is left; For the Lord is going to destroy the Philistines, The remnant of the coastland of Caphtor.(nasb) Jer 47:4 pro adventu diei in quo vastabuntur omnes Philisthiim, et dissipabitur Tyrus et Sidon cum omnibus reliquis auxiliis suis: depopulatus est enim Dominus Palæstinos, reliquias insulæ Cappadociæ.(vulgate) Jeremías 47:4 A causa del día que viene para destrucción de todos los filistos, para cortar de Tiro y de Sidón a todo ayudador que queda vivo; porque Jehová destruirá a los filisteos, al resto de la isla de Caftor.(E) Jérémie 47:4 Parce que le jour arrive où seront détruits tous les Philistins, Exterminés tous ceux qui servaient encore d'auxiliaires à Tyr et à Sidon; Car l'Eternel va détruire les Philistins, Les restes de l'île de Caphtor.(F) Jer 47:4 vor dem Tage, so da kommt, zu verstören alle Philister und auszureuten Tyrus und Sidon samt ihren andern Gehilfen. Denn der HERR wird die Philister, die das übrige sind aus der Insel Kaphthor, verstören.(D) Jer 47:4 ἰδοὺ ἔλυσά σε ἀπὸ τῶν χειροπέδων τῶν ἐπὶ τὰς χεῖράς σου εἰ καλὸν ἐναντίον σου ἐλθεῖν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ εἰς Βαβυλῶνα ἧκε καὶ θήσω τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου ἐπὶ σέ(lxx) Jer 47:4 Because of the day that comes to plunder all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains; For the Lord shall plunder the Philistines, The remnant of the country of Caphtor.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 47:5 ============ Jer 47:5 "Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon has been ruined. O remnant of their valley, How long will you gash yourself?(nasb) Jer 47:5 Venit calvitium super Gazam; conticuit Ascalon, et reliquiæ vallis earum: usquequo concideris?(vulgate) Jeremías 47:5 Sobre Gaza vino mesadura, Ascalón fue cortada, y el resto de su valle; ¿hasta cuándo te sajarás?(E) Jérémie 47:5 Gaza est devenue chauve, Askalon est dans le silence, le reste de leur plaine aussi. Jusques à quand te feras-tu des incisions? -(F) Jer 47:5 Gaza wird kahl werden, und Askalon samt den übrigen in ihren Gründen wird verderbt. Wie lange ritzest du dich?(D) Jer 47:5 εἰ δὲ μή ἀπότρεχε καὶ ἀνάστρεψον πρὸς Γοδολιαν υἱὸν Αχικαμ υἱοῦ Σαφαν ὃν κατέστησεν βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐν γῇ Ιουδα καὶ οἴκησον μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ λαοῦ ἐν γῇ Ιουδα εἰς ἅπαντα τὰ ἀγαθὰ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου τοῦ πορευθῆναι πορεύου καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος δῶρα καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτόν(lxx) Jer 47:5 Baldness has come upon Gaza, Ashkelon is cut off With the remnant of their valley. How long will you cut yourself?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 47:6 ============ Jer 47:6 "Ah, sword of the Lord, How long will you not be quiet? Withdraw into your sheath; Be at rest and stay still.(nasb) Jer 47:6 O mucro Domini, usquequo non quiesces? ingredere in vaginam tuam, refrigerare, et sile.(vulgate) Jeremías 47:6 Oh espada de Jehová, ¿hasta cuándo reposarás? Vuélvete a tu vaina, reposa y sosiégate.(E) Jérémie 47:6 Ah! épée de l'Eternel, quand te reposeras-tu? Rentre dans ton fourreau, Arrête, et sois tranquille! -(F) Jer 47:6 O du Schwert des HERRN, wann willst du doch aufhören? Fahre doch in deine Scheide und ruhe und sei still!(D) Jer 47:6 καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς Γοδολιαν εἰς Μασσηφα καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ καταλειφθέντος ἐν τῇ γῇ(lxx) Jer 47:6 "O you sword of the Lord, How long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scabbard, Rest and be still!(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 47:7 ============ Jer 47:7 "How can it be quiet, When the Lord has given it an order? Against Ashkelon and against the seacoast-- There He has assigned it."(nasb) Jer 47:7 Quomodo quiescet, cum Dominus præceperit ei adversus Ascalonem, et adversus maritimas ejus regiones, ibique condixerit illi?](vulgate) Jeremías 47:7 ¿Cómo reposarás si Jehová te ha enviado contra Ascalón y contra la ribera del mar? Allí te puso.(E) Jérémie 47:7 Comment te reposerais-tu? L'Eternel lui donne ses ordres, C'est contre Askalon et la côte de la mer qu'il la dirige.(F) Jer 47:7 Aber wie kannst du aufhören, weil der HERR dir Befehl getan hat wider die Anfurt am Meer bestellt?(D) Jer 47:7 καὶ ἤκουσαν πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως τῆς ἐν ἀγρῷ αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτῶν ὅτι κατέστησεν βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος τὸν Γοδολιαν ἐν τῇ γῇ καὶ παρεκατέθετο αὐτῷ ἄνδρας καὶ γυναῖκας αὐτῶν οὓς οὐκ ἀπῴκισεν εἰς Βαβυλῶνα(lxx) Jer 47:7 How can it be quiet, Seeing the Lord has given it a charge Against Ashkelon and against the seashore?
