Jon 1:2 "Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me."(nasb)
Jon 1:2 Surge, et vade in Niniven, civitatem grandem, et prædica in ea, quia ascendit malitia ejus coram me.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:2 Levántate, y ve a Nínive, la gran ciudad, y pregona contra ella; porque su maldad ha subido delante de mí.(E)

Jon 1:3 But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.(nasb)
Jon 1:3 Et surrexit Jonas, ut fugeret in Tharsis a facie Domini, et descendit in Joppen: et invenit navem euntem in Tharsis, et dedit naulum ejus, et descendit in eam ut iret cum eis in Tharsis a facie Domini.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:3 Y Jonás se levantó para huir de la presencia de Jehová a Tarsis, y descendió a Jope; y halló un navío que partía para Tarsis; y pagando su pasaje, entró en él para irse con ellos a Tarsis de delante de Jehová.(E)

Jon 1:3 Aber Jona machte sich auf und floh vor dem HERRN und wollte gen Tharsis und kam hinab gen Japho. Und da er ein Schiff fand, das gen Tharsis wollte fahren, gab er Fährgeld und trat hinein, daß er mit ihnen gen Tharsis führe vor dem HERRN.(D)
Jon 1:3 καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωνας τοῦ φυγεῖν εἰς Θαρσις ἐκ προσώπου κυρίου καὶ κατέβη εἰς Ιοππην καὶ εὗρεν πλοῖον βαδίζον εἰς Θαρσις καὶ ἔδωκεν τὸ ναῦλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐνέβη εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦ πλεῦσαι μετ᾽ αὐτῶν εἰς Θαρσις ἐκ προσώπου κυρίου(lxx)
Jon 1:3 But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.(nkjv)

Jon 1:4 The Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to break up.(nasb)

Jonás 1:4 Mas Jehová hizo levantar un gran viento en el mar, y se hizo una tan gran tempestad en el mar, que se pensó se rompería la nave.(E)

Jon 1:4 Da ließ der HERR einen großen Wind aufs Meer kommen, und es erhob sich ein großes Ungewitter auf dem Meer, daß man meinte, das Schiff würde zerbrechen.(D)
Jon 1:4 καὶ κύριος ἐξήγειρεν πνεῦμα εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ ἐγένετο κλύδων μέγας ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ καὶ τὸ πλοῖον ἐκινδύνευεν συντριβῆναι(lxx)
Jon 1:4 But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.(nkjv)

Jon 1:5 Then the sailors became afraid and every man cried to his god, and they threw the cargo which was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone below into the hold of the ship, lain down and fallen sound asleep.(nasb)
Jon 1:5 Et timuerunt nautæ, et clamaverunt viri ad deum suum, et miserunt vasa quæ erant in navi, in mare, ut alleviaretur ab eis; et Jonas descendit ad interiora navis, et dormiebat sopore gravi.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:5 Y los marineros tuvieron miedo, y cada uno clamaba a su dios; y echaron al mar los enseres que [había] en la nave, para descargarla de ellos. Pero Jonás se había bajado a los lados del buque, y se había echado a dormir.(E)
Jonas 1:5 Les mariniers eurent peur, ils implorèrent chacun leur dieu, et ils jetèrent dans la mer les objets qui étaient sur le navire, afin de le rendre plus léger. Jonas descendit au fond du navire, se coucha, et s'endormit profondément.(F)

Jon 1:5 Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep.(nkjv)

Jon 1:6 So the captain approached him and said, "How is it that you are sleeping? Get up, call on your god. Perhaps your god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish."(nasb)
Jon 1:6 Et accessit ad eum gubernator, et dixit ei: Quid tu sopore deprimeris? surge, invoca Deum tuum, si forte recogitet Deus de nobis, et non pereamus.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:6 Y el maestre de la nave vino a él y le dijo: ¿Qué tienes, dormilón? Levántate, y clama a tu Dios; quizá Dios tendrá compasión de nosotros, y no pereceremos.(E)
Jonas 1:6 Le pilote s'approcha de lui, et lui dit: Pourquoi dors-tu? Lève-toi, invoque ton Dieu! peut-être voudra-t-il penser à nous, et nous ne périrons pas.(F)
Jon 1:6 Da trat zu ihm der Schiffsherr und sprach zu ihm: Was schläfst du? Stehe auf, rufe deinen Gott an! ob vielleicht Gott an uns gedenken wollte, daß wir nicht verdürben.(D)
Jon 1:6 καὶ προσῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ πρωρεὺς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ τί σὺ ῥέγχεις ἀνάστα καὶ ἐπικαλοῦ τὸν θεόν σου ὅπως διασώσῃ ὁ θεὸς ἡμᾶς καὶ μὴ ἀπολώμεθα(lxx)
Jon 1:6 So the captain came to him, and said to him, "What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish."(nkjv)

Jon 1:7 Each man said to his mate, "Come, let us cast lots so we may learn on whose account this calamity has struck us." So they cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.(nasb)
Jon 1:7 Et dixit vir ad collegam suum: Venite et mittamus sortes, et sciamus quare hoc malum sit nobis. Et miserunt sortes, et cecidit sors super Jonam.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:7 Y dijeron cada uno a su compañero: Venid, y echemos suertes, para saber por quién nos ha venido este mal. Y echaron suertes, y la suerte cayó sobre Jonás.(E)
Jonas 1:7 Et ils se dirent l'un à l'autre: Venez, et tirons au sort, pour savoir qui nous attire ce malheur. Ils tirèrent au sort, et le sort tomba sur Jonas.(F)

Jon 1:7 καὶ εἶπεν ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ δεῦτε βάλωμεν κλήρους καὶ ἐπιγνῶμεν τίνος ἕνεκεν ἡ κακία αὕτη ἐστὶν ἐν ἡμῖν καὶ ἔβαλον κλήρους καὶ ἔπεσεν ὁ κλῆρος ἐπὶ Ιωναν(lxx)
Jon 1:7 And they said to one another, "Come, let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this trouble has come upon us." So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.(nkjv)

Jon 1:8 Then they said to him, "Tell us, now! On whose account has this calamity struck us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?"(nasb)
Jon 1:8 Et dixerunt ad eum: Indica nobis cujus causa malum istud sit nobis: quod est opus tuum? quæ terra tua, et quo vadis? vel ex quo populo es tu?(vulgate)
Jonás 1:8 Entonces le dijeron ellos: Decláranos ahora por qué nos ha venido este mal. ¿Qué oficio tienes, y de dónde vienes? ¿Cuál [es] tu tierra, y de qué pueblo [eres]?(E)
Jonas 1:8 Alors ils lui dirent: Dis-nous qui nous attire ce malheur. Quelles sont tes affaires, et d'où viens-tu? Quel est ton pays, et de quel peuple es-tu?(F)
Jon 1:8 Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Sage uns, warum geht es uns so übel? was ist dein Gewerbe, und wo kommst du her? Aus welchem Lande bist du, und von welchem Volk bist du?(D)
Jon 1:8 καὶ εἶπον πρὸς αὐτόν ἀπάγγειλον ἡμῖν τίνος ἕνεκεν ἡ κακία αὕτη ἐστὶν ἐν ἡμῖν τίς σου ἡ ἐργασία ἐστίν καὶ πόθεν ἔρχῃ καὶ ἐκ ποίας χώρας καὶ ἐκ ποίου λαοῦ εἶ σύ(lxx)
Jon 1:8 Then they said to him, "Please tell us! For whose cause is this trouble upon us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you?"(nkjv)

Jon 1:9 He said to them, "I am a Hebrew, and I fear the Lord God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land."(nasb)
Jon 1:9 Et dixit ad eos: Hebræus ego sum, et Dominum Deum cæli ego timeo, qui fecit mare et aridam.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:9 Y él les respondió: Soy hebreo, y temo a Jehová, Dios de los cielos, que hizo el mar y la tierra.(E)
Jonas 1:9 Il leur répondit: Je suis Hébreu, et je crains l'Eternel, le Dieu des cieux, qui a fait la mer et la terre.(F)
Jon 1:9 Er sprach zu ihnen: Ich bin ein Hebräer und fürchte den HERRN, den Gott des Himmels, welcher gemacht hat das Meer und das Trockene.(D)
Jon 1:9 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς δοῦλος κυρίου ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ τὸν κύριον θεὸν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐγὼ σέβομαι ὃς ἐποίησεν τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ τὴν ξηράν(lxx)
Jon 1:9 So he said to them, "I am a Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land."(nkjv)

Jon 1:10 Then the men became extremely frightened and they said to him, "How could you do this?" For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.(nasb)
Jon 1:10 Et timuerunt viri timore magno, et dixerunt ad eum: Quid hoc fecisti? cognoverunt enim viri quod a facie Domini fugeret, quia indicaverat eis.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:10 Y aquellos hombres temieron sobremanera, y le dijeron: ¿Por qué has hecho esto? Porque ellos entendieron que huía de delante de Jehová, porque él se los había declarado.(E)
Jonas 1:10 Ces hommes eurent une grande frayeur, et ils lui dirent: Pourquoi as-tu fait cela? Car ces hommes savaient qu'il fuyait loin de la face de l'Eternel, parce qu'il le leur avait déclaré.(F)
Jon 1:10 Da fürchteten sich die Leute sehr und sprachen zu ihm: Warum hast du denn solches getan? denn sie wußten, daß er vor dem HERRN floh; denn er hatte es ihnen gesagt.(D)
Jon 1:10 καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν οἱ ἄνδρες φόβον μέγαν καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτόν τί τοῦτο ἐποίησας διότι ἔγνωσαν οἱ ἄνδρες ὅτι ἐκ προσώπου κυρίου ἦν φεύγων ὅτι ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτοῖς(lxx)
Jon 1:10 Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, "Why have you done this?" For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.(nkjv)

======= Jonah 1:11 ============
Jon 1:11 So they said to him, "What should we do to you that the sea may become calm for us?"--for the sea was becoming increasingly stormy.(nasb)
Jon 1:11 Et dixerunt ad eum: Quid faciemus tibi, et cessabit mare a nobis? quia mare ibat, et intumescebat.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:11 Y le dijeron: ¿Qué te haremos, para que el mar se nos aquiete? porque el mar se embravecía más y más.(E)
Jonas 1:11 Ils lui dirent: Que te ferons-nous, pour que la mer se calme envers nous? Car la mer était de plus en plus orageuse.(F)

Jon 1:11 Then they said to him, "What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm for us?"--for the sea was growing more tempestuous.(nkjv)

Jon 1:12 He said to them, "Pick me up and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will become calm for you, for I know that on account of me this great storm has come upon you."(nasb)
Jon 1:12 Et dixit ad eos: Tollite me, et mittite in mare, et cessabit mare a vobis: scio enim ego quoniam propter me tempestas hæc grandis venit super vos.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:12 Él les respondió: Tomadme, y echadme al mar, y el mar se os aquietará; porque yo sé que por mi causa [ha venido] esta grande tempestad sobre vosotros.(E)
Jonas 1:12 Il leur répondit: Prenez-moi, et jetez-moi dans la mer, et la mer se calmera envers vous; car je sais que c'est moi qui attire sur vous cette grande tempête.(F)
Jon 1:12 Er sprach zu ihnen: Nehmt mich und werft mich ins Meer, so wird euch das Meer still werden. Denn ich weiß, daß solch groß Ungewitter über euch kommt um meinetwillen.(D)

Jon 1:12 And he said to them, "Pick me up and throw me into the sea; then the sea will become calm for you. For I know that this great tempest is because of me."(nkjv)

Jon 1:13 However, the men rowed desperately to return to land but they could not, for the sea was becoming even stormier against them.(nasb)
Jon 1:13 Et remigabant viri ut reverterentur ad aridam, et non valebant, quia mare ibat, et intumescebat super eos.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:13 Y aquellos hombres trabajaron por tornar la nave a tierra; mas no pudieron, porque el mar iba a más, y se embravecía sobre ellos.(E)
Jonas 1:13 Ces hommes ramaient pour gagner la terre, mais ils ne le purent, parce que la mer s'agitait toujours plus contre eux.(F)
Jon 1:13 Und die Leute trieben, daß sie wieder zu Lande kämen; aber sie konnten nicht, denn das Meer fuhr ungestüm wider sie.(D)

Jon 1:13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to return to land, but they could not, for the sea continued to grow more tempestuous against them.(nkjv)

Jon 1:14 Then they called on the Lord and said, "We earnestly pray, O Lord, do not let us perish on account of this man's life and do not put innocent blood on us; for You, O Lord, have done as You have pleased."(nasb)
Jon 1:14 Et clamaverunt ad Dominum, et dixerunt: Quæsumus, Domine, ne pereamus in anima viri istius, et ne des super nos sanguinem innocentem: quia tu, Domine, sicut voluisti, fecisti.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:14 Entonces clamaron a Jehová, y dijeron: Te rogamos oh Jehová, te rogamos, no dejes que perezcamos por la vida de este hombre, ni pongas sobre nosotros la sangre inocente: porque tú, oh Jehová, has hecho como has querido.(E)
Jonas 1:14 Alors ils invoquèrent l'Eternel, et dirent: O Eternel, ne nous fais pas périr à cause de la vie de cet homme, et ne nous charge pas du sang innocent! Car toi, Eternel, tu fais ce que tu veux.(F)
Jon 1:14 Da riefen sie zu dem HERRN und sprachen: Ach HERR, laß uns nicht verderben um dieses Mannes Seele willen und rechne uns nicht zu unschuldig Blut! denn du, HERR, tust, wie dir's gefällt.(D)
Jon 1:14 καὶ ἀνεβόησαν πρὸς κύριον καὶ εἶπαν μηδαμῶς κύριε μὴ ἀπολώμεθα ἕνεκεν τῆς ψυχῆς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τούτου καὶ μὴ δῷς ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς αἷμα δίκαιον ὅτι σύ κύριε ὃν τρόπον ἐβούλου πεποίηκας(lxx)
Jon 1:14 Therefore they cried out to the Lord and said, "We pray, O Lord, please do not let us perish for this man's life, and do not charge us with innocent blood; for You, O Lord, have done as it pleased You."(nkjv)

Jon 1:15 So they picked up Jonah, threw him into the sea, and the sea stopped its raging.(nasb)
Jon 1:15 Et tulerunt Jonam, et miserunt in mare: et stetit mare a fervore suo.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:15 Y tomaron a Jonás, y lo echaron al mar; y el mar se aquietó de su furia.(E)

Jon 1:16 Then the men feared the Lord greatly, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows.(nasb)
Jon 1:16 Et timuerunt viri timore magno Dominum: et immolaverunt hostias Domino, et voverunt vota.(vulgate)
Jonás 1:16 Y temieron aquellos hombres a Jehová con gran temor; y ofrecieron sacrificio a Jehová, y prometieron votos.(E)
Jonas 1:16 Ces hommes furent saisis d'une grande crainte de l'Eternel, et ils offrirent un sacrifice à l'Eternel, et firent des voeux.(F)
