Today's Date: Jon 1:17 And the Lord appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish three days and three nights.(nasb) Jon 2:1 Et præparavit Dominus piscem grandem ut deglutiret Jonam: et erat Jonas in ventre piscis tribus diebus et tribus noctibus.(vulgate) Jonás 1:17 Pero Jehová había prevenido un gran pez que tragase a Jonás: y estuvo Jonás en el vientre del pez tres días y tres noches.(E) -- ======= Jonah 2:1 ============ Jon 2:1 Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the stomach of the fish,(nasb) Jon 2:2 Et oravit Jonas ad Dominum Deum suum de ventre piscis,(vulgate) Jonás 2:1 Entonces oró Jonás a Jehová su Dios desde el vientre del pez,(E) Jonas 2:1 Jonas, dans le ventre du poisson, pria l'Eternel, son Dieu.(F) Jon 2:1 Und Jona betete zu dem HERRN, seinem Gott, im Leibe des Fisches.(D) Jon 2:1 καὶ προσηύξατο Ιωνας πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῆς κοιλίας τοῦ κήτους(lxx) Jon 2:1 Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish's belly. ======= Jonah 2:2 ============ Jon 2:2 and he said, "I called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. I cried for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice.(nasb) Jon 2:3 et dixit: [Clamavi de tribulatione mea ad Dominum, et exaudivit me; de ventre inferi clamavi, et exaudisti vocem meam.(vulgate) Jonás 2:2 y dijo: Clamé de mi tribulación a Jehová, y Él me oyó; Del vientre del infierno clamé, y mi voz oíste.(E) Jonas 2:2 Il dit: Dans ma détresse, j'ai invoqué l'Eternel, Et il m'a exaucé; Du sein du séjour des morts j'ai crié, Et tu as entendu ma voix.(F) Jon 2:2 Und sprach: Ich rief zu dem HERRN in meiner Angst, und er antwortete mir; ich schrie aus dem Bauche der Hölle, und du hörtest meine Stimme.(D) Jon 2:2 καὶ εἶπεν ἐβόησα ἐν θλίψει μου πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν μου καὶ εἰσήκουσέν μου ἐκ κοιλίας ᾅδου κραυγῆς μου ἤκουσας φωνῆς μου(lxx) Jon 2:2 And he said: "I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, And He answered me. "Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. ======= Jonah 2:3 ============ Jon 2:3 "For You had cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current engulfed me. All Your breakers and billows passed over me.(nasb) Jon 2:4 Et projecisti me in profundum in corde maris, et flumen circumdedit me: omnes gurgites tui, et fluctus tui super me transierunt.(vulgate) Jonás 2:3 Me echaste en el profundo, en medio de los mares, y me rodeó la corriente; Todas tus ondas y tus olas pasaron sobre mí.(E) Jonas 2:3 Tu m'as jeté dans l'abîme, dans le coeur de la mer, Et les courants d'eau m'ont environné; Toutes tes vagues et tous tes flots ont passé sur moi.(F) Jon 2:3 Du warfest mich in die Tiefe mitten im Meer, daß die Fluten mich umgaben; alle deine Wogen und Wellen gingen über mich,(D) Jon 2:3 ἀπέρριψάς με εἰς βάθη καρδίας θαλάσσης καὶ ποταμοί με ἐκύκλωσαν πάντες οἱ μετεωρισμοί σου καὶ τὰ κύματά σου ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ διῆλθον(lxx) Jon 2:3 For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and Your waves passed over me. ======= Jonah 2:4 ============ Jon 2:4 "So I said, 'I have been expelled from Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple.'(nasb) Jon 2:5 Et ego dixi: Abjectus sum a conspectu oculorum tuorum; verumtamen rursus videbo templum sanctum tuum.(vulgate) Jonás 2:4 Y yo dije: Echado soy de delante de tus ojos: Mas aun veré tu santo templo.(E) Jonas 2:4 Je disais: Je suis chassé loin de ton regard! Mais je verrai encore ton saint temple.(F) Jon 2:4 daß ich gedachte, ich wäre von deinen Augen verstoßen, ich würde deinen heiligen Tempel nicht mehr sehen.(D) Jon 2:4 καὶ ἐγὼ εἶπα ἀπῶσμαι ἐξ ὀφθαλμῶν σου ἆρα προσθήσω τοῦ ἐπιβλέψαι πρὸς τὸν ναὸν τὸν ἅγιόν σου(lxx) Jon 2:4 Then I said, 'I have been cast out of Your sight; Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.' ======= Jonah 2:5 ============ Jon 2:5 "Water encompassed me to the point of death. The great deep engulfed me, Weeds were wrapped around my head.(nasb) Jon 2:6 Circumdederunt me aquæ usque ad animam: abyssus vallavit me, pelagus operuit caput meum.(vulgate) Jonás 2:5 Las aguas me rodearon hasta el alma, me rodeó el abismo; Las algas se enredaron a mi cabeza.(E) Jonas 2:5 Les eaux m'ont couvert jusqu'à m'ôter la vie, L'abîme m'a enveloppé, Les roseaux ont entouré ma tête.(F) Jon 2:5 Wasser umgaben mich bis an mein Leben, die Tiefe umringte mich; Schilf bedeckte mein Haupt.(D) Jon 2:5 περιεχύθη ὕδωρ μοι ἕως ψυχῆς ἄβυσσος ἐκύκλωσέν με ἐσχάτη ἔδυ ἡ κεφαλή μου εἰς σχισμὰς ὀρέων(lxx) Jon 2:5 The waters surrounded me, even to my soul; The deep closed around me; Weeds were wrapped around my head. ======= Jonah 2:6 ============ Jon 2:6 "I descended to the roots of the mountains. The earth with its bars was around me forever, But You have brought up my life from the pit, O Lord my God.(nasb) Jon 2:7 Ad extrema montium descendi; terræ vectes concluserunt me in æternum: et sublevabis de corruptione vitam meam, Domine Deus meus.(vulgate) Jonás 2:6 Descendí a los cimientos de los montes; La tierra echó sus cerraduras sobre mí para siempre: Mas tú sacaste mi vida de la corrupción, oh Jehová Dios mío.(E) Jonas 2:6 Je suis descendu jusqu'aux racines des montagnes, Les barres de la terre m'enfermaient pour toujours; Mais tu m'as fait remonter vivant de la fosse, Eternel, mon Dieu!(F) Jon 2:6 Ich sank hinunter zu der Berge Gründen, die Erde hatte mich verriegelt ewiglich; aber du hast mein Leben aus dem Verderben geführt, HERR, mein Gott.(D) Jon 2:6 κατέβην εἰς γῆν ἧς οἱ μοχλοὶ αὐτῆς κάτοχοι αἰώνιοι καὶ ἀναβήτω φθορὰ ζωῆς μου κύριε ὁ θεός μου(lxx) Jon 2:6 I went down to the moorings of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed behind me forever; Yet You have brought up my life from the pit, O Lord, my God. ======= Jonah 2:7 ============ Jon 2:7 "While I was fainting away, I remembered the Lord, And my prayer came to You, Into Your holy temple.(nasb) Jon 2:8 Cum angustiaretur in me anima mea, Domini recordatus sum: ut veniat ad te oratio mea, ad templum sanctum tuum.(vulgate) Jonás 2:7 Cuando mi alma desfallecía en mí, me acordé de Jehová; Y mi oración entró hasta ti en tu santo templo.(E) Jonas 2:7 Quand mon âme était abattue au dedans de moi, Je me suis souvenu de l'Eternel, Et ma prière est parvenue jusqu'à toi, Dans ton saint temple.(F) Jon 2:7 Da meine Seele bei mir verzagte, gedachte ich an den HERRN; und mein Gebet kam zu dir in deinen heiligen Tempel.(D) Jon 2:7 ἐν τῷ ἐκλείπειν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὴν ψυχήν μου τοῦ κυρίου ἐμνήσθην καὶ ἔλθοι πρὸς σὲ ἡ προσευχή μου εἰς ναὸν ἅγιόν σου(lxx) Jon 2:7 "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple. ======= Jonah 2:8 ============ Jon 2:8 "Those who regard vain idols Forsake their faithfulness,(nasb) Jon 2:9 Qui custodiunt vanitates frustra, misericordiam suam derelinquunt.(vulgate) Jonás 2:8 Los que guardan las vanidades ilusorias, su misericordia abandonan.(E) Jonas 2:8 Ceux qui s'attachent à de vaines idoles Eloignent d'eux la miséricorde.(F) Jon 2:8 Die da halten an dem Nichtigen, verlassen ihre Gnade.(D) Jon 2:8 φυλασσόμενοι μάταια καὶ ψευδῆ ἔλεος αὐτῶν ἐγκατέλιπον(lxx) Jon 2:8 "Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy. ======= Jonah 2:9 ============ Jon 2:9 But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the Lord."(nasb) Jon 2:10 Ego autem in voce laudis immolabo tibi: quæcumque vovi, reddam pro salute Domino.](vulgate) Jonás 2:9 Pero yo con voz de acción de gracias te ofreceré sacrificios; Pagaré lo que prometí. La salvación [pertenece] a Jehová.(E) Jonas 2:9 Pour moi, je t'offrirai des sacrifices avec un cri d'actions de grâces, J'accomplirai les voeux que j'ai faits: Le salut vient de l'Eternel.(F) Jon 2:9 Ich aber will mit Dank dir opfern, mein Gelübde will ich bezahlen; denn die Hilfe ist des HERRN.(D) Jon 2:9 ἐγὼ δὲ μετὰ φωνῆς αἰνέσεως καὶ ἐξομολογήσεως θύσω σοι ὅσα ηὐξάμην ἀποδώσω σοι σωτηρίου τῷ κυρίῳ(lxx) Jon 2:9 But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord." ======= Jonah 2:10 ============ Jon 2:10 Then the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.(nasb) Jon 2:11 Et dixit Dominus pisci, et evomuit Jonam in aridam.(vulgate) Jonás 2:10 Y mandó Jehová al pez, y vomitó a Jonás en [tierra] seca.(E) Jonas 2:10 L'Eternel parla au poisson, et le poisson vomit Jonas sur la terre.(F) Jon 2:10 Und der HERR sprach zum Fisch, und der spie Jona aus ans Land.(D) Jon 2:10 καὶ προσετάγη τῷ κήτει καὶ ἐξέβαλεν τὸν Ιωναν ἐπὶ τὴν ξηράν(lxx) Jon 2:10 So the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land. ======= Jonah 3:1 ============ top of the page
