Today's Date: ======= Jonah 3:1 ============ Jon 3:1 Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying,(nasb) Jon 3:1 Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jonam secundo, dicens:(vulgate) Jonás 3:1 Y vino palabra de Jehová segunda vez a Jonás, diciendo:(E) Jonas 3:1 La parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Jonas une seconde fois, en ces mots:(F) Jon 3:1 Und es geschah das Wort des HERRN zum andernmal zu Jona und sprach:(D) Jon 3:1 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιωναν ἐκ δευτέρου λέγων(lxx) Jon 3:1 Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying,(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:2 ============ Jon 3:2 "Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you."(nasb) Jon 3:2 Surge, et vade in Niniven, civitatem magnam, et prædica in ea prædicationem quam ego loquor ad te.(vulgate) Jonás 3:2 Levántate y ve a Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y predica en ella el mensaje que yo te diré. (E) Jonas 3:2 Lève-toi, va à Ninive, la grande ville, et proclames-y la publication que je t'ordonne!(F) Jon 3:2 Mache dich auf, gehe in die große Stadt Ninive und predige ihr die Predigt, die ich dir sage!(D) Jon 3:2 ἀνάστηθι καὶ πορεύθητι εἰς Νινευη τὴν πόλιν τὴν μεγάλην καὶ κήρυξον ἐν αὐτῇ κατὰ τὸ κήρυγμα τὸ ἔμπροσθεν ὃ ἐγὼ ἐλάλησα πρὸς σέ(lxx) Jon 3:2 "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you."(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:3 ============ Jon 3:3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three days' walk.(nasb) Jon 3:3 Et surrexit Jonas, et abiit in Niniven juxta verbum Domini: et Ninive erat civitas magna, itinere trium dierum.(vulgate) Jonás 3:3 Y se levantó Jonás, y fue a Nínive, conforme a la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.(E) Jonas 3:3 Et Jonas se leva, et alla à Ninive, selon la parole de l'Eternel. Or Ninive était une très grande ville, de trois jours de marche.(F) Jon 3:3 Da machte sich Jona auf und ging hin gen Ninive, wie der HERR gesagt hatte. Ninive aber war eine große Stadt vor Gott, drei Tagereisen groß.(D) Jon 3:3 καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωνας καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Νινευη καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἡ δὲ Νινευη ἦν πόλις μεγάλη τῷ θεῷ ὡσεὶ πορείας ὁδοῦ ἡμερῶν τριῶν(lxx) Jon 3:3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:4 ============ Jon 3:4 Then Jonah began to go through the city one day's walk; and he cried out and said, "Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown."(nasb) Jon 3:4 Et cœpit Jonas introire in civitatem itinere diei unius: et clamavit, et dixit: Adhuc quadraginta dies, et Ninive subvertetur.(vulgate) Jonás 3:4 Y comenzó Jonás a entrar por la ciudad, camino de un día, y pregonaba diciendo: De aquí a cuarenta días Nínive será destruida.(E) Jonas 3:4 Jonas fit d'abord dans la ville une journée de marche; il criait et disait: Encore quarante jours, et Ninive est détruite!(F) Jon 3:4 Und da Jona anfing hineinzugehen eine Tagereise in die Stadt, predigte er und sprach: Es sind noch vierzig Tage, so wird Ninive untergehen.(D) Jon 3:4 καὶ ἤρξατο Ιωνας τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν πόλιν ὡσεὶ πορείαν ἡμέρας μιᾶς καὶ ἐκήρυξεν καὶ εἶπεν ἔτι τρεῖς ἡμέραι καὶ Νινευη καταστραφήσεται(lxx) Jon 3:4 And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:5 ============ Jon 3:5 Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them.(nasb) Jon 3:5 Et crediderunt viri Ninivitæ in Deum, et prædicaverunt jejunium, et vestiti sunt saccis, a majore usque ad minorem.(vulgate) Jonás 3:5 Y los hombres de Nínive creyeron a Dios, y pregonaron ayuno, y se vistieron de cilicio desde el mayor de ellos hasta el menor de ellos.(E) Jonas 3:5 Les gens de Ninive crurent à Dieu, ils publièrent un jeûne, et se revêtirent de sacs, depuis les plus grands jusqu'aux plus petits.(F) Jon 3:5 Da glaubten die Leute zu Ninive an Gott und ließen predigen, man sollte fasten, und zogen Säcke an, beide, groß und klein.(D) Jon 3:5 καὶ ἐνεπίστευσαν οἱ ἄνδρες Νινευη τῷ θεῷ καὶ ἐκήρυξαν νηστείαν καὶ ἐνεδύσαντο σάκκους ἀπὸ μεγάλου αὐτῶν ἕως μικροῦ αὐτῶν(lxx) Jon 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:6 ============ Jon 3:6 When the word reached the king of Nineveh, he arose from his throne, laid aside his robe from him, covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes.(nasb) Jon 3:6 Et pervenit verbum ad regem Ninive: et surrexit de solio suo, et abjecit vestimentum suum a se, et indutus est sacco, et sedit in cinere.(vulgate) Jonás 3:6 Y llegó la noticia hasta el rey de Nínive, y se levantó de su silla, y echó de sí su vestidura, y se cubrió de cilicio, y se sentó sobre ceniza.(E) Jonas 3:6 La chose parvint au roi de Ninive; il se leva de son trône, ôta son manteau, se couvrit d'un sac, et s'assit sur la cendre.(F) Jon 3:6 Und da das vor den König zu Ninive kam, stand er auf von seinem Thron und legte seinen Purpur ab und hüllte einen Sack um sich und setzte sich in die Asche(D) Jon 3:6 καὶ ἤγγισεν ὁ λόγος πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα τῆς Νινευη καὶ ἐξανέστη ἀπὸ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ καὶ περιείλατο τὴν στολὴν αὐτοῦ ἀφ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ καὶ περιεβάλετο σάκκον καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ σποδοῦ(lxx) Jon 3:6 Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:7 ============ Jon 3:7 He issued a proclamation and it said, "In Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let man, beast, herd, or flock taste a thing. Do not let them eat or drink water.(nasb) Jon 3:7 Et clamavit, et dixit in Ninive ex ore regis et principum ejus, dicens: Homines, et jumenta, et boves, et pecora non gustent quidquam: nec pascantur, et aquam non bibant.(vulgate) Jonás 3:7 E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandato del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua;(E) Jonas 3:7 Et il fit faire dans Ninive cette publication, par ordre du roi et de ses grands; Que les hommes et les bêtes, les boeufs et les brebis, ne goûtent de rien, ne paissent point, et ne boivent point d'eau!(F) Jon 3:7 und ließ ausrufen und sagen zu Ninive nach Befehl des Königs und seiner Gewaltigen also: Es sollen weder Mensch noch Vieh, weder Ochsen noch Schafe Nahrung nehmen, und man soll sie nicht weiden noch sie Wasser trinken lassen;(D) Jon 3:7 καὶ ἐκηρύχθη καὶ ἐρρέθη ἐν τῇ Νινευη παρὰ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ παρὰ τῶν μεγιστάνων αὐτοῦ λέγων οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ οἱ βόες καὶ τὰ πρόβατα μὴ γευσάσθωσαν μηδὲν μηδὲ νεμέσθωσαν μηδὲ ὕδωρ πιέτωσαν(lxx) Jon 3:7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:8 ============ Jon 3:8 But both man and beast must be covered with sackcloth; and let men call on God earnestly that each may turn from his wicked way and from the violence which is in his hands.(nasb) Jon 3:8 Et operiantur saccis homines et jumenta, et clament ad Dominum in fortitudine: et convertatur vir a via sua mala, et ab iniquitate quæ est in manibus eorum.(vulgate) Jonás 3:8 y que se cubran de cilicio los hombres y los animales, y clamen a Dios fuertemente: y conviértase cada uno de su mal camino, de la rapiña que [está] en sus manos.(E) Jonas 3:8 Que les hommes et les bêtes soient couverts de sacs, qu'ils crient à Dieu avec force, et qu'ils reviennent tous de leur mauvaise voie et des actes de violence dont leurs mains sont coupables!(F) Jon 3:8 und sollen Säcke um sich hüllen, beide, Menschen und Vieh, und zu Gott rufen heftig; und ein jeglicher bekehre sich von seinem bösen Wege und vom Frevel seiner Hände.(D) Jon 3:8 καὶ περιεβάλοντο σάκκους οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ ἀνεβόησαν πρὸς τὸν θεὸν ἐκτενῶς καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς ἀδικίας τῆς ἐν χερσὶν αὐτῶν λέγοντες(lxx) Jon 3:8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:9 ============ Jon 3:9 Who knows, God may turn and relent and withdraw His burning anger so that we will not perish."(nasb) Jon 3:9 Quis scit si convertatur et ignoscat Deus, et revertatur a furore iræ suæ, et non peribimus?(vulgate) Jonás 3:9 ¿Quién sabe [si] se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?(E) Jonas 3:9 Qui sait si Dieu ne reviendra pas et ne se repentira pas, et s'il ne renoncera pas à son ardente colère, en sorte que nous ne périssions point?(F) Jon 3:9 Wer weiß? Es möchte Gott wiederum gereuen und er sich wenden von seinem grimmigen Zorn, daß wir nicht verderben.(D) Jon 3:9 τίς οἶδεν εἰ μετανοήσει ὁ θεὸς καὶ ἀποστρέψει ἐξ ὀργῆς θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀπολώμεθα(lxx) Jon 3:9 Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:10 ============ Jon 3:10 When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them. And He did not do it.(nasb) Jon 3:10 Et vidit Deus opera eorum, quia conversi sunt de via sua mala: et misertus est Deus super malitiam quam locutus fuerat ut faceret eis, et non fecit.(vulgate) Jonás 3:10 Y vio Dios lo que hicieron, que se convirtieron de su mal camino; y se arrepintió del mal que había dicho que les había de hacer, y no [lo] hizo.(E) Jonas 3:10 Dieu vit qu'ils agissaient ainsi et qu'ils revenaient de leur mauvaise voie. Alors Dieu se repentit du mal qu'il avait résolu de leur faire, et il ne le fit pas.(F) Jon 3:10 Da aber Gott sah ihre Werke, daß sie sich bekehrten von ihrem bösen Wege, reute ihn des Übels, das er geredet hatte ihnen zu tun, und tat's nicht.(D) Jon 3:10 καὶ εἶδεν ὁ θεὸς τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν ὅτι ἀπέστρεψαν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁδῶν αὐτῶν τῶν πονηρῶν καὶ μετενόησεν ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ τῇ κακίᾳ ᾗ ἐλάλησεν τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησεν(lxx) Jon 3:10 Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 4:1 ============ top of the page
