Today's Date: ======= Numbers 17:1 ============ Num 17:1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,(nas) Num 17:1 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων (lxx) Num 17:1 Et locutus est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:(vulgate) 16 ׃17 וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ Numbers Num 17:1 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:(dhs) Num 17:1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:2 ============ Num 17:2 "Speak to the sons of Israel, and get from them a rod for each father's household: twelve rods, from all their leaders according to their fathers' households. You shall write each name on his rod,(nas) Num 17:2 λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ λαβὲ παρ᾽ αὐτῶν ῥάβδον ῥάβδον κατ᾽ οἴκους πατριῶν παρὰ πάντων τῶν ἀρχόντων αὐτῶν κατ᾽ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν δώδεκα ῥάβδους καὶ ἑκάστου τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐπίγραψον ἐπὶ τῆς ῥάβδου αὐτοῦ (lxx) Num 17:2 Loquere ad filios Israël, et accipe ab eis virgas singulas per cognationes suas, a cunctis principibus tribuum, virgas duodecim, et uniuscujusque nomen superscribes virgæ suæ.(vulgate) 17 ׃17 דַּבֵּ֣ר ׀ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְקַ֣ח מֵֽאִתָּ֡ם מַטֶּ֣ה מַטֶּה֩ לְבֵ֨ית אָ֜ב מֵאֵ֤ת כָּל־נְשִֽׂיאֵהֶם֙ לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֔ם שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר מַטּ֑וֹת אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־שְׁמ֔וֹ תִּכְתֹּ֖ב עַל־מַטֵּֽהוּ׃ Numbers Num 17:2 Sage den Kindern Israel und nimm von ihnen zwölf Stecken, von Jeglichem Fürsten seines Vaterhauses einen, und schreib eines jeglichen Namen auf seinen Stecken.(dhs) Num 17:2 "Speak to the children of Israel, and get from them a rod from each father's house, all their leaders according to their fathers' houses--twelve rods. Write each man's name on his rod.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:3 ============ Num 17:3 and write Aaron's name on the rod of Levi; for there is one rod for the head of each of their fathers' households.(nas) Num 17:3 καὶ τὸ ὄνομα Ααρων ἐπίγραψον ἐπὶ τῆς ῥάβδου Λευι ἔστιν γὰρ ῥάβδος μία κατὰ φυλὴν οἴκου πατριῶν αὐτῶν δώσουσιν (lxx) Num 17:3 Nomen autem Aaron erit in tribu Levi, et una virga cunctas seorsum familias continebit:(vulgate) 18 ׃17 וְאֵת֙ שֵׁ֣ם אַהֲרֹ֔ן תִּכְתֹּ֖ב עַל־מַטֵּ֣ה לֵוִ֑י כִּ֚י מַטֶּ֣ה אֶחָ֔ד לְרֹ֖אשׁ בֵּ֥ית אֲבוֹתָֽם׃ Numbers Num 17:3 Aber den Namen Aarons sollst du schreiben auf den Stecken Levis. Denn je für ein Haupt ihrer Vaterhäuser soll ein Stecken sein.(dhs) Num 17:3 And you shall write Aaron's name on the rod of Levi. For there shall be one rod for the head of each father's house.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:4 ============ Num 17:4 You shall then deposit them in the tent of meeting in front of the testimony, where I meet with you.(nas) Num 17:4 καὶ θήσεις αὐτὰς ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου κατέναντι τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἐν οἷς γνωσθήσομαί σοι ἐκεῖ (lxx) Num 17:4 ponesque eas in tabernaculo fœderis coram testimonio, ubi loquar ad te.(vulgate) 19 ׃17 וְהִנַּחְתָּ֖ם בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד לִפְנֵי֙ הָֽעֵד֔וּת אֲשֶׁ֛ר אִוָּעֵ֥ד לָכֶ֖ם שָֽׁמָּה׃ Numbers Num 17:4 Und lege sie in die Hütte des Stifts vor dem Zeugnis, da ich mich euch bezeuge.(dhs) Num 17:4 Then you shall place them in the tabernacle of meeting before the Testimony, where I meet with you.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:5 ============ Num 17:5 It will come about that the rod of the man whom I choose will sprout. Thus I will lessen from upon Myself the grumblings of the sons of Israel, who are grumbling against you."(nas) Num 17:5 καὶ ἔσται ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃν ἐὰν ἐκλέξωμαι αὐτόν ἡ ῥάβδος αὐτοῦ ἐκβλαστήσει καὶ περιελῶ ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὸν γογγυσμὸν τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἃ αὐτοὶ γογγύζουσιν ἐφ᾽ ὑμῖν (lxx) Num 17:5 Quem ex his elegero, germinabit virga ejus: et cohibebo a me querimonias filiorum Israël, quibus contra vos murmurant.(vulgate) 20 ׃17 וְהָיָ֗ה הָאִ֛ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶבְחַר־בּ֖וֹ מַטֵּ֣הוּ יִפְרָ֑ח וַהֲשִׁכֹּתִ֣י מֵֽעָלַ֗י אֶת־תְּלֻנּוֹת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥ם מַלִּינִ֖ם עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ Numbers Num 17:5 Und welchen ich erwählen werde, des Stecken wird grünen, daß ich das Murren der Kinder Israel, das sie wider euch murren, stille.(dhs) Num 17:5 And it shall be that the rod of the man whom I choose will blossom; thus I will rid Myself of the complaints of the children of Israel, which they make against you."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:6 ============ Num 17:6 Moses therefore spoke to the sons of Israel, and all their leaders gave him a rod apiece, for each leader according to their fathers' households, twelve rods, with the rod of Aaron among their rods.(nas) Num 17:6 καὶ ἐλάλησεν Μωυσῆς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῶν ῥάβδον τῷ ἄρχοντι τῷ ἑνὶ ῥάβδον κατὰ ἄρχοντα κατ᾽ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν δώδεκα ῥάβδους καὶ ἡ ῥάβδος Ααρων ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ῥάβδων αὐτῶν (lxx) Num 17:6 Locutusque est Moyses ad filios Israël: et dederunt ei omnes principes virgas per singulas tribus: fueruntque virgæ duodecim absque virga Aaron.(vulgate) 21 ׃17 וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וַיִּתְּנ֣וּ אֵלָ֣יו ׀ כָּֽל־נְשִֽׂיאֵיהֶ֡ם מַטֶּה֩ לְנָשִׂ֨יא אֶחָ֜ד מַטֶּ֨ה לְנָשִׂ֤יא אֶחָד֙ לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֔ם שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר מַטּ֑וֹת וּמַטֵּ֥ה אַהֲרֹ֖ן בְּת֥וֹךְ מַטּוֹתָֽם׃ Numbers Num 17:6 Mose redete mit den Kindern Israel, und alle ihre Fürsten gaben ihm zwölf Stecken, ein jeglicher Fürst einen Stecken, nach ihren Vaterhäusern; und der Stecken Aarons war auch unter ihren Stecken.(dhs) Num 17:6 So Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and each of their leaders gave him a rod apiece, for each leader according to their fathers' houses, twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:7 ============ Num 17:7 So Moses deposited the rods before the Lord in the tent of the testimony.(nas) Num 17:7 καὶ ἀπέθηκεν Μωυσῆς τὰς ῥάβδους ἔναντι κυρίου ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου (lxx) Num 17:7 Quas cum posuisset Moyses coram Domino in tabernaculo testimonii,(vulgate) 22 ׃17 וַיַּנַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־הַמַּטֹּ֖ת לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה בְּאֹ֖הֶל הָעֵדֻֽת׃ Numbers Num 17:7 Und Mose legte die Stecken vor den HERRN in der Hütte des Zeugnisses.(dhs) Num 17:7 And Moses placed the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:8 ============ Num 17:8 Now on the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds.(nas) Num 17:8 καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἐπαύριον καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ααρων εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐβλάστησεν ἡ ῥάβδος Ααρων εἰς οἶκον Λευι καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν βλαστὸν καὶ ἐξήνθησεν ἄνθη καὶ ἐβλάστησεν κάρυα (lxx) Num 17:8 sequenti die regressus invenit germinasse virgam Aaron in domo Levi: et turgentibus gemmis eruperant flores, qui, foliis dilatatis, in amygdalas deformati sunt.(vulgate) 23 ׃17 וַיְהִ֣י מִֽמָּחֳרָ֗ת וַיָּבֹ֤א מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־אֹ֣הֶל הָעֵד֔וּת וְהִנֵּ֛ה פָּרַ֥ח מַטֵּֽה־אַהֲרֹ֖ן לְבֵ֣ית לֵוִ֑י וַיֹּ֤צֵֽא פֶ֙רַח֙ וַיָּ֣צֵֽץ צִ֔יץ וַיִּגְמֹ֖ל שְׁקֵדִֽים׃ Numbers Num 17:8 Des Morgens aber, da Mose in die Hütte des Zeugnisses ging, fand er den Stecken Aarons des Hauses Levi grünen und die Blüte aufgegangen und Mandeln tragen.(dhs) Num 17:8 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:9 ============ Num 17:9 Moses then brought out all the rods from the presence of the Lord to all the sons of Israel; and they looked, and each man took his rod.(nas) Num 17:9 καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν Μωυσῆς πάσας τὰς ῥάβδους ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου πρὸς πάντας υἱοὺς Ισραηλ καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἔλαβον ἕκαστος τὴν ῥάβδον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Num 17:9 Protulit ergo Moyses omnes virgas de conspectu Domini ad cunctos filios Israël: videruntque, et receperunt singuli virgas suas.(vulgate) 24 ׃17 וַיֹּצֵ֨א מֹשֶׁ֤ה אֶת־כָּל־הַמַּטֹּת֙ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה אֶֽל־כָּל־בְּנֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּרְא֥וּ וַיִּקְח֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ מַטֵּֽהוּ׃ ס Numbers Num 17:9 Und Mose trug die Stecken alle heraus von dem HERRN vor alle Kinder Israel, daß sie es sahen; und ein jeglicher nahm seinen Stecken.(dhs) Num 17:9 Then Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord to all the children of Israel; and they looked, and each man took his rod.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:10 ============ Num 17:10 But the Lord said to Moses, "Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony to be kept as a sign against the rebels, that you may put an end to their grumblings against Me, so that they will not die."(nas) Num 17:10 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἀπόθες τὴν ῥάβδον Ααρων ἐνώπιον τῶν μαρτυρίων εἰς διατήρησιν σημεῖον τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνηκόων καὶ παυσάσθω ὁ γογγυσμὸς αὐτῶν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνωσιν (lxx) Num 17:10 Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen: Refer virgam Aaron in tabernaculum testimonii, ut servetur ibi in signum rebellium filiorum Israël, et quiescant querelæ eorum a me, ne moriantur.(vulgate) 25 ׃17 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה הָשֵׁ֞ב אֶת־מַטֵּ֤ה אַהֲרֹן֙ לִפְנֵ֣י הָעֵד֔וּת לְמִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת לְא֖וֹת לִבְנֵי־מֶ֑רִי וּתְכַ֧ל תְּלוּנֹּתָ֛ם מֵעָלַ֖י וְלֹ֥א יָמֻֽתוּ׃ Numbers Num 17:10 Der HERR sprach aber zu Mose: Trage den Stecken Aarons wieder vor das Zeugnis, daß er verwahrt werde zum Zeichen den ungehorsamen Kindern, daß ihr Murren von mir aufhöre, daß sie nicht sterben.(dhs) Num 17:10 And the Lord said to Moses, "Bring Aaron's rod back before the Testimony, to be kept as a sign against the rebels, that you may put their complaints away from Me, lest they die."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:11 ============ Num 17:11 Thus Moses did; just as the Lord had commanded him, so he did.(nas) Num 17:11 καὶ ἐποίησεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ααρων καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ οὕτως ἐποίησαν (lxx) Num 17:11 Fecitque Moyses sicut præceperat Dominus.(vulgate) 26 ׃17 וַיַּ֖עַשׂ מֹשֶׁ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֧ה יְהוָ֛ה אֹת֖וֹ כֵּ֥ן עָשָֽׂה׃ ס Numbers Num 17:11 Mose tat wie ihm der HERR geboten hatte.(dhs) Num 17:11 Thus did Moses; just as the Lord had commanded him, so he did.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:12 ============ Num 17:12 Then the sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, "Behold, we perish, we are dying, we are all dying!(nas) Num 17:12 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγοντες ἰδοὺ ἐξανηλώμεθα ἀπολώλαμεν παρανηλώμεθα (lxx) Num 17:12 Dixerunt autem filii Israël ad Moysen: Ecce consumpti sumus, omnes perivimus.(vulgate) 27 ׃17 וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר הֵ֥ן גָּוַ֛עְנוּ אָבַ֖דְנוּ כֻּלָּ֥נוּ אָבָֽדְנ[t]וּ׃ Numbers Num 17:12 Und die Kinder Israel sprachen zu Mose: Siehe, wir verderben und kommen um; wir werden alle vertilgt und kommen um.(dhs) Num 17:12 So the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, "Surely we die, we perish, we all perish!(nkjv) ======= Numbers 17:13 ============ Num 17:13 Everyone who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of the Lord, must die. Are we to perish completely?"(nas) Num 17:13 πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῆς σκηνῆς κυρίου ἀποθνῄσκει ἕως εἰς τέλος ἀποθάνωμεν (lxx) Num 17:13 Quicumque accedit ad tabernaculum Domini, moritur. Num usque ad internecionem cuncti delendi sumus?(vulgate) 28 ׃17 כֹּ֣ל הַקָּרֵ֧ב ׀ הַקָּרֵ֛ב אֶל־מִשְׁכַּ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה יָמ֑וּת הַאִ֥ם תַּ֖מְנוּ לִגְוֺֽעַ׃ ס Numbers Num 17:13 Wer sich naht zur Wohnung des HERRN, der stirbt.
