How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah.(nas) Psa 4:2 ἐν τῷ ἐπικαλεῖσθαί με εἰσήκουσέν μου ὁ θεὸς τῆς δικαιοσύνης μου ἐν θλίψει ἐπλάτυνάς μοι οἰκτίρησόν με καὶ εἰσάκουσον τῆς προσευχῆς μου (lxx) Psa 4:2 Filii hominum, usquequo gravi corde? ut quid diligitis vanitatem, et quæritis mendacium?(vulgate) 3 ׃4 בְּנֵ֥י אִ֡ישׁ עַד־מֶ֬ה כְבוֹדִ֣י לִ֭כְלִמָּה תֶּאֱהָב֣וּן רִ֑יק תְּבַקְשׁ֖וּ כָזָ֣ב סֶֽלָה׃ Psalms Psa 4:2 Liebe Herren, wie lange soll meine Ehre geschändet werden? Wie habt ihr das Eitle so lieb und die Lüge so gern! (Sela.)(dhs) Psa 4:2 How long, O you sons of men, Will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness And seek falsehood? Selah(nkjv) ======= Psalm 4:3 ============ Psa 4:3 But know that the Lord has set apart the godly man for Himself; The Lord hears when I call to Him.(nas) Psa 4:3 υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι ἵνα τί ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος διάψαλμα (lxx) Psa 4:3 Et scitote quoniam mirificavit Dominus sanctum suum; Dominus exaudiet me cum clamavero ad eum.(vulgate) 4 ׃4 וּדְע֗וּ כִּֽי־הִפְלָ֣ה יְ֭הוָה חָסִ֣יד ל֑וֹ יְהוָ֥ה יִ֝שְׁמַ֗ע בְּקָרְאִ֥י אֵלָֽיו׃ Psalms Psa 4:3 Erkennet doch, daß der HERR seine Heiligen wunderbar führt; der HERR hört, wenn ich ihn anrufe.(dhs) Psa 4:3 But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lord will hear when I call to Him.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 4:4 ============ Psa 4:4 Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.(nas) Psa 4:4 καὶ γνῶτε ὅτι ἐθαυμάστωσεν κύριος τὸν ὅσιον αὐτοῦ κύριος εἰσακούσεταί μου ἐν τῷ κεκραγέναι με πρὸς αὐτόν (lxx) Psa 4:4 Irascimini, et nolite peccare; quæ dicitis in cordibus vestris, in cubilibus vestris compungimini.(vulgate) 5 ׃4 רִגְז֗וּ וְֽאַל־תֶּ֫חֱטָ֥אוּ אִמְר֣וּ בִ֭לְבַבְכֶם עַֽל־מִשְׁכַּבְכֶ֗ם וְדֹ֣מּוּ סֶֽלָה׃ Psalms Psa 4:4 Zürnet ihr, so sündiget nicht. Redet mit eurem Herzen auf dem Lager und harret. (Sela.)(dhs) Psa 4:4 Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah(nkjv) ======= Psalm 4:5 ============ Psa 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in the Lord.(nas) Psa 4:5 ὀργίζεσθε καὶ μὴ ἁμαρτάνετε λέγετε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς κοίταις ὑμῶν κατανύγητε διάψαλμα (lxx) Psa 4:5 Sacrificate sacrificium justitiæ, et sperate in Domino. Multi dicunt: Quis ostendit nobis bona?(vulgate) 6 ׃4 זִבְח֥וּ זִבְחֵי־צֶ֑דֶק וּ֝בִטְח֗וּ אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃ Psalms Psa 4:5 Opfert Gerechtigkeit und hoffet auf den HERRN.(dhs) Psa 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 4:6 ============ Psa 4:6 Many are saying, "Who will show us any good?" Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord!(nas) Psa 4:6 θύσατε θυσίαν δικαιοσύνης καὶ ἐλπίσατε ἐπὶ κύριον (lxx) Psa 4:6 Signatum est super nos lumen vultus tui, Domine: dedisti lætitiam in corde meo.(vulgate) 7 ׃4 רַבִּ֥ים אֹמְרִים֮ מִֽי־יַרְאֵ֢נ֫וּ ט֥וֹב נְֽסָה־עָ֭לֵינוּ א֨וֹר פָּנֶ֬יךָ יְהוָֽה׃ Psalms Psa 4:6 Viele sagen: "Wer wird uns Gutes sehen lassen?" Aber, HERR, erhebe über uns das Licht deines Antlitzes!(dhs) Psa 4:6 There are many who say, "Who will show us any good?" Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 4:7 ============ Psa 4:7 You have put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound.(nas) Psa 4:7 πολλοὶ λέγουσιν τίς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθά ἐσημειώθη ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς τὸ φῶς τοῦ προσώπου σου κύριε (lxx) Psa 4:7 A fructu frumenti, vini, et olei sui, multiplicati sunt.(vulgate) 8 ׃4 נָתַ֣תָּה שִׂמְחָ֣ה בְלִבִּ֑י מֵעֵ֬ת דְּגָנָ֖ם וְתִֽירוֹשָׁ֣ם רָֽבּוּ׃ Psalms Psa 4:7 Du erfreuest mein Herz, ob jene gleich viel Wein und Korn haben.(dhs) Psa 4:7 You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 4:8 ============ Psa 4:8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety.(nas) Psa 4:8 ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ κοιμηθήσομαι καὶ ὑπνώσω ὅτι σύ κύριε κατὰ μόνας ἐπ᾽ ἐλπίδι κατῴκισάς με (lxx) Psa 4:8 In pace in idipsum dormiam, et requiescam;(vulgate) 9 ׃4 בְּשָׁל֣וֹם יַחְדָּו֮ אֶשְׁכְּבָ֢ה וְאִ֫ישָׁ֥ן כִּֽי־אַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה לְבָדָ֑ד לָ֝בֶ֗טַח תּוֹשִׁיבֵֽנִי׃ Psalms Psa 4:8 Ich liege und schlafe ganz mit Frieden; denn allein du, HERR, hilfst mir, daß ich sicher wohne.(dhs) Psa 4:8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 5:1 ============ top of the page
