And He will give you the desires of your heart.(nas) Psa 37:4 κατατρύφησον τοῦ κυρίου καὶ δώσει σοι τὰ αἰτήματα τῆς καρδίας σου (lxx) Psa 37:4 [Vulgate 36:4] et delectare in Domino et dabit tibi petitiones cordis tui(vulgate) 4 ׃37 וְהִתְעַנַּ֥ג עַל־יְהוָ֑ה וְיִֽתֶּן־לְ֝ךָ֗ מִשְׁאֲלֹ֥ת לִבֶּֽךָ׃ Psalms Psa 37:4 Habe Deine Lust am HERRN; er wird's wohl machen(dhs) Psa 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:6 ============ Psa 37:6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the noonday.(nas) Psa 37:6 καὶ ἐξοίσει ὡς φῶς τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου καὶ τὸ κρίμα σου ὡς μεσημβρίαν (lxx) Psa 37:6 [Vulgate 36:6] et educet sicut lumen iustitiam tuam et iudicium tuum sicut meridiem(vulgate) 6 ׃37 וְהוֹצִ֣יא כָא֣וֹר צִדְקֶ֑ךָ וּ֝מִשְׁפָּטֶ֗ךָ כַּֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃ Psalms Psa 37:6 und wird deine Gerechtigkeit hervorbringen wie das Licht und dein Recht wie den Mittag.(dhs) Psa 37:6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:7 ============ Psa 37:7 Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.(nas) Psa 37:7 ὑποτάγηθι τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἱκέτευσον αὐτόν μὴ παραζήλου ἐν τῷ κατευοδουμένῳ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀνθρώπῳ ποιοῦντι παρανομίας (lxx) Psa 37:7 [Vulgate 36:7] deleth tace Domino et expecta eum noli contendere adversum eum qui proficit in via sua adversum virum qui facit quae cogitat(vulgate) 7 ׃37 דּ֤וֹם ׀ לַיהוָה֮ וְהִתְח֢וֹלֵ֫ל ל֥וֹ אַל־תִּ֭תְחַר בְּמַצְלִ֣יחַ דַּרְכּ֑וֹ בְּ֝אִ֗ישׁ עֹשֶׂ֥ה מְזִמּֽוֹת׃ Psalms Psa 37:7 Sei stille dem HERRN und warte auf ihn; erzürne dich nicht über den, dem sein Mutwille glücklich fortgeht.(dhs) Psa 37:7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:8 ============ Psa 37:8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.(nas) Psa 37:8 παῦσαι ἀπὸ ὀργῆς καὶ ἐγκατάλιπε θυμόν μὴ παραζήλου ὥστε πονηρεύεσθαι (lxx) Psa 37:8 [Vulgate 36:8] he dimitte iram et relinque furorem noli contendere ut malefacias(vulgate) 8 ׃37 הֶ֣רֶף מֵ֭אַף וַעֲזֹ֣ב חֵמָ֑ה אַל־תִּ֝תְחַ֗ר אַךְ־לְהָרֵֽעַ׃ Psalms Psa 37:8 Steh ab vom Zorn und laß den Grimm, erzürne dich nicht, daß du nicht auch übel tust.(dhs) Psa 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret--it only causes harm.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:9 ============ Psa 37:9 For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land.(nas) Psa 37:9 ὅτι οἱ πονηρευόμενοι ἐξολεθρευθήσονται οἱ δὲ ὑπομένοντες τὸν κύριον αὐτοὶ κληρονομήσουσιν γῆν (lxx) Psa 37:9 [Vulgate 36:9] quoniam qui malefaciunt interibunt expectantes autem Dominum ipsi hereditabunt terram(vulgate) 9 ׃37 כִּֽי־מְ֭רֵעִים יִכָּרֵת֑וּן וְקֹוֵ֥י יְ֝הוָ֗ה הֵ֣מָּה יִֽירְשׁוּ־אָֽרֶץ׃ Psalms Psa 37:9 Denn die Bösen werden ausgerottet; die aber des HERRN harren, werden das Land erben.(dhs) Psa 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:10 ============ Psa 37:10 Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more; And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there.(nas) Psa 37:10 καὶ ἔτι ὀλίγον καὶ οὐ μὴ ὑπάρξῃ ὁ ἁμαρτωλός καὶ ζητήσεις τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ εὕρῃς (lxx) Psa 37:10 [Vulgate 36:10] vav adhuc enim modicum et non erit impius et cogitabis de loco eius et non subsistet(vulgate) 10 ׃37 וְע֣וֹד מְ֭עַט וְאֵ֣ין רָשָׁ֑ע וְהִתְבּוֹנַ֖נְתָּ עַל־מְקוֹמ֣וֹ וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ׃ Psalms Psa 37:10 Es ist noch um ein kleines, so ist der Gottlose nimmer; und wenn du nach seiner Stätte sehen wirst, wird er weg sein.(dhs) Psa 37:10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:11 ============ Psa 37:11 But the humble will inherit the land And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.(nas) Psa 37:11 οἱ δὲ πραεῖς κληρονομήσουσιν γῆν καὶ κατατρυφήσουσιν ἐπὶ πλήθει εἰρήνης (lxx) Psa 37:11 [Vulgate 36:11] mites autem hereditabunt terram et delectabuntur in multitudine pacis(vulgate) 11 ׃37 וַעֲנָוִ֥ים יִֽירְשׁוּ־אָ֑רֶץ וְ֝הִתְעַנְּג֗וּ עַל־רֹ֥ב שָׁלֽוֹם׃ Psalms Psa 37:11 Aber die Elenden werden das Land erben und Lust haben in großem Frieden.(dhs) Psa 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:12 ============ Psa 37:12 The wicked plots against the righteous And gnashes at him with his teeth.(nas) Psa 37:12 παρατηρήσεται ὁ ἁμαρτωλὸς τὸν δίκαιον καὶ βρύξει ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν τοὺς ὀδόντας αὐτοῦ (lxx) Psa 37:12 [Vulgate 36:12] zai cogitat impius de iusto et frendet adversum eum dentibus suis(vulgate) 12 ׃37 זֹמֵ֣ם רָ֭שָׁע לַצַּדִּ֑יק וְחֹרֵ֖ק עָלָ֣יו שִׁנָּֽיו׃ Psalms Psa 37:12 Der Gottlose droht dem Gerechten und beißt seine Zähne zusammen über ihn.(dhs) Psa 37:12 The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:13 ============ Psa 37:13 The Lord laughs at him, For He sees his day is coming.(nas) Psa 37:13 ὁ δὲ κύριος ἐκγελάσεται αὐτόν ὅτι προβλέπει ὅτι ἥξει ἡ ἡμέρα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Psa 37:13 [Vulgate 36:13] Dominus deridebit eum videns quod venit dies eius(vulgate) 13 ׃37 אֲדֹנָ֥י יִשְׂחַק־ל֑וֹ כִּֽי־רָ֝אָ֗ה כִּֽי־יָבֹ֥א יוֹמֽוֹ׃ Psalms Psa 37:13 Aber der HERR lacht sein; denn er sieht, daß sein Tag kommt.(dhs) Psa 37:13 The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:14 ============ Psa 37:14 The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow To cast down the afflicted and the needy, To slay those who are upright in conduct.(nas) Psa 37:14 ῥομφαίαν ἐσπάσαντο οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί ἐνέτειναν τόξον αὐτῶν τοῦ καταβαλεῖν πτωχὸν καὶ πένητα τοῦ σφάξαι τοὺς εὐθεῖς τῇ καρδίᾳ (lxx) Psa 37:14 [Vulgate 36:14] heth gladium evaginaverunt impii tetenderunt arcum suum ut percutiant egenum et pauperem et interficiant rectos in via(vulgate) 14 ׃37 חֶ֤רֶב ׀ פָּֽתְח֣וּ רְשָׁעִים֮ וְדָרְכ֢וּ קַ֫שְׁתָּ֥ם לְ֭הַפִּיל עָנִ֣י וְאֶבְי֑וֹן לִ֝טְב֗וֹחַ יִשְׁרֵי־דָֽרֶךְ׃ Psalms Psa 37:14 Die Gottlosen ziehen das Schwert aus und spannen ihren Bogen, daß sie fällen den Elenden und Armen und schlachten die Frommen.(dhs) Psa 37:14 The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:15 ============ Psa 37:15 Their sword will enter their own heart, And their bows will be broken.(nas) Psa 37:15 ἡ ῥομφαία αὐτῶν εἰσέλθοι εἰς τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ τόξα αὐτῶν συντριβείησαν (lxx) Psa 37:15 [Vulgate 36:15] gladius eorum ingrediatur in cor eorum et arcus eorum confringantur(vulgate) 15 ׃37 חַ֭רְבָּם תָּב֣וֹא בְלִבָּ֑ם וְ֝קַשְּׁתוֹתָ֗ם תִּשָּׁבַֽרְנָה׃ Psalms Psa 37:15 Aber ihr Schwert wird in ihr Herz gehen, und ihr Bogen wird zerbrechen.(dhs) Psa 37:15 Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:16 ============ Psa 37:16 Better is the little of the righteous Than the abundance of many wicked.(nas) Psa 37:16 κρεῖσσον ὀλίγον τῷ δικαίῳ ὑπὲρ πλοῦτον ἁμαρτωλῶν πολύν (lxx) Psa 37:16 [Vulgate 36:16] teth melius est parum iusto quam divitiae impiorum multae(vulgate) 16 ׃37 טוֹב־מְ֭עַט לַצַּדִּ֑יק מֵ֝הֲמ֗וֹן רְשָׁעִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ Psalms Psa 37:16 Das wenige, das ein Gerechter hat, ist besser als das große Gut vieler Gottlosen.(dhs) Psa 37:16 A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:17 ============ Psa 37:17 For the arms of the wicked will be broken, But the Lord sustains the righteous.(nas) Psa 37:17 ὅτι βραχίονες ἁμαρτωλῶν συντριβήσονται ὑποστηρίζει δὲ τοὺς δικαίους κύριος (lxx) Psa 37:17 [Vulgate 36:17] quia brachia impiorum confringentur sublevat autem iustos Dominus(vulgate) 17 ׃37 כִּ֤י זְרוֹע֣וֹת רְ֭שָׁעִים תִּשָּׁבַ֑רְנָה וְסוֹמֵ֖ךְ צַדִּיקִ֣ים יְהוָֽה׃ Psalms Psa 37:17 Denn der Gottlosen Arm wird zerbrechen; aber der HERR erhält die Gerechten.(dhs) Psa 37:17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:18 ============ Psa 37:18 The Lord knows the days of the blameless, And their inheritance will be forever.(nas) Psa 37:18 γινώσκει κύριος τὰς ὁδοὺς τῶν ἀμώμων καὶ ἡ κληρονομία αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἔσται (lxx) Psa 37:18 [Vulgate 36:18] ioth novit Dominus diem inmaculatorum et hereditas eorum aeterna erit(vulgate) 18 ׃37 יוֹדֵ֣עַ יְ֭הוָה יְמֵ֣י תְמִימִ֑ם וְ֝נַחֲלָתָ֗ם לְעוֹלָ֥ם תִּהְיֶֽה׃ Psalms Psa 37:18 Der HERR kennt die Tage der Frommen, und ihr Gut wird ewiglich bleiben.(dhs) Psa 37:18 The Lord knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:19 ============ Psa 37:19 They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine they will have abundance.(nas) Psa 37:19 οὐ καταισχυνθήσονται ἐν καιρῷ πονηρῷ καὶ ἐν ἡμέραις λιμοῦ χορτασθήσονται (lxx) Psa 37:19 [Vulgate 36:19] non confundentur in tempore malo et in diebus famis saturabuntur(vulgate) 19 ׃37 לֹֽא־יֵ֭בֹשׁוּ בְּעֵ֣ת רָעָ֑ה וּבִימֵ֖י רְעָב֣וֹן יִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃ Psalms Psa 37:19 Sie werden nicht zu Schanden in der bösen Zeit, und in der Teuerung werden sie genug haben.(dhs) Psa 37:19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:20 ============ Psa 37:20 But the wicked will perish; And the enemies of the Lord will be like the glory of the pastures, They vanish--like smoke they vanish away.(nas) Psa 37:20 ὅτι οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἀπολοῦνται οἱ δὲ ἐχθροὶ τοῦ κυρίου ἅμα τῷ δοξασθῆναι αὐτοὺς καὶ ὑψωθῆναι ἐκλιπόντες ὡσεὶ καπνὸς ἐξέλιπον (lxx) Psa 37:20 [Vulgate 36:20] caph quia impii peribunt et inimici Domini gloriantes ut monocerotes consumentur sicut fumus consumitur(vulgate) 20 ׃37 כִּ֤י רְשָׁעִ֨ים ׀ יֹאבֵ֗דוּ וְאֹיְבֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה כִּיקַ֣ר כָּרִ֑ים כָּל֖וּ בֶעָשָׁ֣ן כָּֽלוּ׃ Psalms Psa 37:20 Denn die Gottlosen werden umkommen; und die Feinde des HERRN, wenn sie gleich sind wie köstliche Aue, werden sie doch vergehen, wie der Rauch vergeht.(dhs) Psa 37:20 But the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the Lord, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:21 ============ Psa 37:21 The wicked borrows and does not pay back, But the righteous is gracious and gives.(nas) Psa 37:21 δανείζεται ὁ ἁμαρτωλὸς καὶ οὐκ ἀποτείσει ὁ δὲ δίκαιος οἰκτίρει καὶ διδοῖ (lxx) Psa 37:21 [Vulgate 36:21] lameth fenus accipit impius et non reddit iustus autem donat et tribuit(vulgate) 21 ׃37 לֹוֶ֣ה רָ֭שָׁע וְלֹ֣א יְשַׁלֵּ֑ם וְ֝צַדִּ֗יק חוֹנֵ֥ן וְנוֹתֵֽן׃ Psalms Psa 37:21 Der Gottlose borgt und bezahlt nicht; der Gerechte aber ist barmherzig und gibt.(dhs) Psa 37:21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:22 ============ Psa 37:22 For those blessed by Him will inherit the land, But those cursed by Him will be cut off.(nas) Psa 37:22 ὅτι οἱ εὐλογοῦντες αὐτὸν κληρονομήσουσι γῆν οἱ δὲ καταρώμενοι αὐτὸν ἐξολεθρευθήσονται (lxx) Psa 37:22 [Vulgate 36:22] quia qui benedicti fuerint ab eo hereditabunt terram et qui maledicti interibunt(vulgate) 22 ׃37 כִּ֣י מְ֭בֹרָכָיו יִ֣ירְשׁוּ אָ֑רֶץ וּ֝מְקֻלָּלָ֗יו יִכָּרֵֽתוּ׃ Psalms Psa 37:22 Denn seine Gesegneten erben das Land; aber seine Verfluchten werden ausgerottet.(dhs) Psa 37:22 For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth, But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:23 ============ Psa 37:23 The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way.(nas) Psa 37:23 παρὰ κυρίου τὰ διαβήματα ἀνθρώπου κατευθύνεται καὶ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ θελήσει (lxx) Psa 37:23 [Vulgate 36:23] mem a Domino gressus viri firmantur et viam eius volet(vulgate) 23 ׃37 מֵ֭יְהוָה מִֽצְעֲדֵי־גֶ֥בֶר כּוֹנָ֗נוּ וְדַרְכּ֥וֹ יֶחְפָּֽץ׃ Psalms Psa 37:23 Von dem HERRN wird solches Mannes Gang gefördert, und er hat Lust an seinem Wege.(dhs) Psa 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:24 ============ Psa 37:24 When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.(nas) Psa 37:24 ὅταν πέσῃ οὐ καταραχθήσεται ὅτι κύριος ἀντιστηρίζει χεῖρα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Psa 37:24 [Vulgate 36:24] cum ceciderit non adlidetur quia Dominus sustentat manum eius(vulgate) 24 ׃37 כִּֽי־יִפֹּ֥ל לֹֽא־יוּטָ֑ל כִּֽי־יְ֝הוָ֗ה סוֹמֵ֥ךְ יָדֽוֹ׃ Psalms Psa 37:24 Fällt er, so wird er nicht weggeworfen; denn der HERR hält ihn bei der Hand.(dhs) Psa 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 37:25 ============ Psa 37:25 I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descendants begging bread.(nas) Psa 37:25 νεώτερος ἐγενόμην καὶ γὰρ ἐγήρασα καὶ οὐκ εἶδον δίκαιον ἐγκαταλελειμμένον οὐδὲ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ζητοῦν ἄρτους (lxx) Psa 37:25 [Vulgate 36:25] nun puer fui siquidem senui et non vidi iustum derelictum neque semen eius quaerens panem(vulgate) 25 ׃37 נַ֤עַר ׀ הָיִ֗יתִי גַּם־זָ֫קַ֥נְתִּי וְֽלֹא־רָ֭אִיתִי צַדִּ֣יק נֶעֱזָ֑ב וְ֝זַרְע֗וֹ מְבַקֶּשׁ־לָֽחֶם׃ Psalms Psa 37:25 Ich bin jung gewesen und alt geworden und habe noch nie gesehen den Gerechten verlassen oder seinen Samen nach Brot gehen.(dhs) Psa 37:25 I have been young, and now am old;
