HERR, strafe mich nicht in deinem Zorn und züchtige mich nicht in deinem Grimm.(dhs) Psa 38:1 A Psalm of David. To bring to remembrance. O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure!(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:2 ============ Psa 38:2 For Your arrows have sunk deep into me, And Your hand has pressed down on me.(nas) Psa 38:2 κύριε μὴ τῷ θυμῷ σου ἐλέγξῃς με μηδὲ τῇ ὀργῇ σου παιδεύσῃς με (lxx) Psa 38:2 [Vulgate 37:3] quia sagittae tuae infixae sunt mihi et tetigit me manus tua(vulgate) 3 ׃38 כִּֽי־חִ֭צֶּיךָ נִ֣חֲתוּ בִ֑י וַתִּנְחַ֖ת עָלַ֣י יָדֶֽךָ׃ Psalms Psa 38:2 Denn deine Pfeile stecken in mir, und deine Hand drückt mich.(dhs) Psa 38:2 For Your arrows pierce me deeply, And Your hand presses me down.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:3 ============ Psa 38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation; There is no health in my bones because of my sin.(nas) Psa 38:3 ὅτι τὰ βέλη σου ἐνεπάγησάν μοι καὶ ἐπεστήρισας ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ τὴν χεῖρά σου (lxx) Psa 38:3 [Vulgate 37:4] non est sanitas in carne mea a facie indignationis tuae non est pax ossibus meis a facie peccati mei(vulgate) 4 ׃38 אֵין־מְתֹ֣ם בִּ֭בְשָׂרִי מִפְּנֵ֣י זַעְמֶ֑ךָ אֵין־שָׁל֥וֹם בַּ֝עֲצָמַ֗י מִפְּנֵ֥י חַטָּאתִֽי׃ Psalms Psa 38:3 Es ist nichts Gesundes an meinem Leibe vor deinem Drohen und ist kein Friede in meinen Gebeinen vor meiner Sünde.(dhs) Psa 38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh Because of Your anger, Nor any health in my bones Because of my sin.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:4 ============ Psa 38:4 For my iniquities are gone over my head; As a heavy burden they weigh too much for me.(nas) Psa 38:4 οὐκ ἔστιν ἴασις ἐν τῇ σαρκί μου ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς ὀργῆς σου οὐκ ἔστιν εἰρήνη τοῖς ὀστέοις μου ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν μου (lxx) Psa 38:4 [Vulgate 37:5] quia iniquitates meae transierunt caput meum quasi onus grave adgravatae sunt super me(vulgate) 5 ׃38 כִּ֣י עֲ֭וֺנֹתַי עָבְר֣וּ רֹאשִׁ֑י כְּמַשָּׂ֥א כָ֝בֵ֗ד יִכְבְּד֥וּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ Psalms Psa 38:4 Denn meine Sünden gehen über mein Haupt; wie eine schwere Last sind sie mir zu schwer geworden.(dhs) Psa 38:4 For my iniquities have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:5 ============ Psa 38:5 My wounds grow foul and fester Because of my folly.(nas) Psa 38:5 ὅτι αἱ ἀνομίαι μου ὑπερῆραν τὴν κεφαλήν μου ὡσεὶ φορτίον βαρὺ ἐβαρύνθησαν ἐπ᾽ ἐμέ (lxx) Psa 38:5 [Vulgate 37:6] conputruerunt et tabuerunt cicatrices meae a facie insipientiae meae(vulgate) 6 ׃38 הִבְאִ֣ישׁוּ נָ֭מַקּוּ חַבּוּרֹתָ֑י מִ֝פְּנֵ֗י אִוַּלְתִּֽי׃ Psalms Psa 38:5 Meine Wunden stinken und eitern vor meiner Torheit.(dhs) Psa 38:5 My wounds are foul and festering Because of my foolishness.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:6 ============ Psa 38:6 I am bent over and greatly bowed down; I go mourning all day long.(nas) Psa 38:6 προσώζεσαν καὶ ἐσάπησαν οἱ μώλωπές μου ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς ἀφροσύνης μου (lxx) Psa 38:6 [Vulgate 37:7] adflictus sum et incurvatus nimis tota die maerens ambulabam(vulgate) 7 ׃38 נַעֲוֵ֣יתִי שַׁחֹ֣תִי עַד־מְאֹ֑ד כָּל־הַ֝יּ֗וֹם קֹדֵ֥ר הִלָּֽכְתִּי׃ Psalms Psa 38:6 Ich gehe krumm und sehr gebückt; den ganzen Tag gehe ich traurig.(dhs) Psa 38:6 I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:7 ============ Psa 38:7 For my loins are filled with burning, And there is no soundness in my flesh.(nas) Psa 38:7 ἐταλαιπώρησα καὶ κατεκάμφθην ἕως τέλους ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν σκυθρωπάζων ἐπορευόμην (lxx) Psa 38:7 [Vulgate 37:8] quia lumbi mei repleti sunt ignominia et non est sanitas in carne mea(vulgate) 8 ׃38 כִּֽי־כְ֭סָלַי מָלְא֣וּ נִקְלֶ֑ה וְאֵ֥ין מְ֝תֹ֗ם בִּבְשָׂרִֽי׃ Psalms Psa 38:7 Denn meine Lenden verdorren ganz, und ist nichts Gesundes an meinem Leibe.(dhs) Psa 38:7 For my loins are full of inflammation, And there is no soundness in my flesh.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:8 ============ Psa 38:8 I am benumbed and badly crushed; I groan because of the agitation of my heart.(nas) Psa 38:8 ὅτι αἱ ψύαι μου ἐπλήσθησαν ἐμπαιγμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἴασις ἐν τῇ σαρκί μου (lxx) Psa 38:8 [Vulgate 37:9] evigilavi et adflictus sum nimis rugiebam a gemitu cordis mei(vulgate) 9 ׃38 נְפוּג֣וֹתִי וְנִדְכֵּ֣יתִי עַד־מְאֹ֑ד שָׁ֝אַ֗גְתִּי מִֽנַּהֲמַ֥ת לִבִּֽי׃ Psalms Psa 38:8 Es ist mir gar anders denn zuvor, und ich bin sehr zerstoßen. Ich heule vor Unruhe meines Herzens.(dhs) Psa 38:8 I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:9 ============ Psa 38:9 Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You.(nas) Psa 38:9 ἐκακώθην καὶ ἐταπεινώθην ἕως σφόδρα ὠρυόμην ἀπὸ στεναγμοῦ τῆς καρδίας μου (lxx) Psa 38:9 [Vulgate 37:10] Domine in conspectu tuo omne desiderium meum et gemitus meus a te non est absconditus(vulgate) 10 ׃38 אֲֽדנָ֗[t]י נֶגְדְּךָ֥ כָל־תַּאֲוָתִ֑י וְ֝אַנְחָתִ֗י מִמְּךָ֥ לֹא־נִסְתָּֽרָה׃ Psalms Psa 38:9 HERR, vor dir ist alle meine Begierde, und mein Seufzen ist dir nicht verborgen.(dhs) Psa 38:9 Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:10 ============ Psa 38:10 My heart throbs, my strength fails me; And the light of my eyes, even that has gone from me.(nas) Psa 38:10 κύριε ἐναντίον σου πᾶσα ἡ ἐπιθυμία μου καὶ ὁ στεναγμός μου ἀπὸ σοῦ οὐκ ἐκρύβη (lxx) Psa 38:10 [Vulgate 37:11] cor meum fluctuabat dereliquit me fortitudo mea et lux oculorum meorum etiam ipsa non est mecum(vulgate) 11 ׃38 לִבִּ֣י סְ֭חַרְחַר עֲזָבַ֣נִי כֹחִ֑י וְֽאוֹר־עֵינַ֥י גַּם־הֵ֝֗ם אֵ֣ין אִתִּֽי׃ Psalms Psa 38:10 Mein Herz bebt, meine Kraft hat mich verlassen, und das Licht meiner Augen ist nicht bei mir.(dhs) Psa 38:10 My heart pants, my strength fails me; As for the light of my eyes, it also has gone from me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:11 ============ Psa 38:11 My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague; And my kinsmen stand afar off.(nas) Psa 38:11 ἡ καρδία μου ἐταράχθη ἐγκατέλιπέν με ἡ ἰσχύς μου καὶ τὸ φῶς τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν μου καὶ αὐτὸ οὐκ ἔστιν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ (lxx) Psa 38:11 [Vulgate 37:12] cari mei et amici mei quasi contra lepram meam steterunt et vicini mei longe steterunt(vulgate) 12 ׃38 אֹֽהֲבַ֨י ׀ וְרֵעַ֗י מִנֶּ֣גֶד נִגְעִ֣י יַעֲמֹ֑דוּ וּ֝קְרוֹבַ֗י מֵרָחֹ֥ק עָמָֽדוּ׃ Psalms Psa 38:11 Meine Lieben und Freunde treten zurück und scheuen meine Plage, und meine Nächsten stehen ferne.(dhs) Psa 38:11 My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague, And my relatives stand afar off.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:12 ============ Psa 38:12 Those who seek my life lay snares for me; And those who seek to injure me have threatened destruction, And they devise treachery all day long.(nas) Psa 38:12 οἱ φίλοι μου καὶ οἱ πλησίον μου ἐξ ἐναντίας μου ἤγγισαν καὶ ἔστησαν καὶ οἱ ἔγγιστά μου ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἔστησαν (lxx) Psa 38:12 [Vulgate 37:13] et inruebant quaerentes animam meam et investigantes mala mihi loquebantur insidias et dolos tota die meditabantur(vulgate) 13 ׃38 וַיְנַקְשׁ֤וּ ׀ מְבַקְשֵׁ֬י נַפְשִׁ֗י וְדֹרְשֵׁ֣י רָ֭עָתִי דִּבְּר֣וּ הַוּ֑וֹת וּ֝מִרְמ֗וֹת כָּל־הַיּ֥וֹם יֶהְגּֽוּ׃ Psalms Psa 38:12 Und die mir nach dem Leben trachten, stellen mir nach; und die mir übelwollen, reden, wie sie Schaden tun wollen, und gehen mit eitel Listen um.(dhs) Psa 38:12 Those also who seek my life lay snares for me; Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction, And plan deception all the day long.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:13 ============ Psa 38:13 But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute man who does not open his mouth.(nas) Psa 38:13 καὶ ἐξεβιάσαντο οἱ ζητοῦντες τὴν ψυχήν μου καὶ οἱ ζητοῦντες τὰ κακά μοι ἐλάλησαν ματαιότητας καὶ δολιότητας ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἐμελέτησαν (lxx) Psa 38:13 [Vulgate 37:14] ego autem quasi surdus non audiebam et quasi mutus non aperiebam os meum(vulgate) 14 ׃38 וַאֲנִ֣י כְ֭חֵרֵשׁ לֹ֣א אֶשְׁמָ֑ע וּ֝כְאִלֵּ֗ם לֹ֣א יִפְתַּח־פִּֽיו׃ Psalms Psa 38:13 Ich aber muß sein wie ein Tauber und nicht hören, und wie ein Stummer, der seinen Mund nicht auftut,(dhs) Psa 38:13 But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:14 ============ Psa 38:14 Yes, I am like a man who does not hear, And in whose mouth are no arguments.(nas) Psa 38:14 ἐγὼ δὲ ὡσεὶ κωφὸς οὐκ ἤκουον καὶ ὡσεὶ ἄλαλος οὐκ ἀνοίγων τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Psa 38:14 [Vulgate 37:15] et eram quasi homo non audiens nec habens in ore suo redargutiones(vulgate) 15 ׃38 וָאֱהִ֗י כְּ֭אִישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־שֹׁמֵ֑עַ וְאֵ֥ין בְּ֝פִ֗יו תּוֹכָֽחוֹת׃ Psalms Psa 38:14 und muß sein wie einer, der nicht hört und der keine Widerrede in seinem Munde hat.(dhs) Psa 38:14 Thus I am like a man who does not hear, And in whose mouth is no response.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:15 ============ Psa 38:15 For I hope in You, O Lord; du, HERR, mein Gott, wirst erhören.(dhs) Psa 38:15 For in You, O Lord, I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:16 ============ Psa 38:16 For I said, "May they not rejoice over me, Who, when my foot slips, would magnify themselves against me."(nas) Psa 38:16 ὅτι ἐπὶ σοί κύριε ἤλπισα σὺ εἰσακούσῃ κύριε ὁ θεός μου (lxx) Psa 38:16 [Vulgate 37:17] quia dixi ne forte insultent mihi et cum vacillaverint pedes mei super me magnificentur(vulgate) 17 ׃38 כִּֽי־אָ֭מַרְתִּי פֶּן־יִשְׂמְחוּ־לִ֑י בְּמ֥וֹט רַ֝גְלִ֗י עָלַ֥י הִגְדִּֽילוּ׃ Psalms Psa 38:16 Denn ich denke: Daß sie sich ja nicht über mich freuen! Wenn mein Fuß wankte, würden sie sich hoch rühmen wider mich.(dhs) Psa 38:16 For I said, "Hear me, lest they rejoice over me, Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:17 ============ Psa 38:17 For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me.(nas) Psa 38:17 ὅτι εἶπα μήποτε ἐπιχαρῶσίν μοι οἱ ἐχθροί μου καὶ ἐν τῷ σαλευθῆναι πόδας μου ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ ἐμεγαλορρημόνησαν (lxx) Psa 38:17 [Vulgate 37:18] quia ego ad plagas paratus et dolor meus contra me est semper(vulgate) 18 ׃38 כִּֽי־אֲ֭נִי לְצֶ֣לַע נָכ֑וֹן וּמַכְאוֹבִ֖י נֶגְדִּ֣י תָמִֽיד׃ Psalms Psa 38:17 Denn ich bin zu Leiden gemacht, und mein Schmerz ist immer vor mir.(dhs) Psa 38:17 For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:18 ============ Psa 38:18 For I confess my iniquity; I am full of anxiety because of my sin.(nas) Psa 38:18 ὅτι ἐγὼ εἰς μάστιγας ἕτοιμος καὶ ἡ ἀλγηδών μου ἐνώπιόν μου διὰ παντός (lxx) Psa 38:18 [Vulgate 37:19] quia iniquitatem meam adnuntio sollicitus ero pro peccato meo(vulgate) 19 ׃38 כִּֽי־עֲוֺנִ֥י אַגִּ֑יד אֶ֝דְאַ֗ג מֵ֖חַטָּאתִֽי׃ Psalms Psa 38:18 Denn ich zeige meine Missetat an und sorge wegen meiner Sünde.(dhs) Psa 38:18 For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:19 ============ Psa 38:19 But my enemies are vigorous and strong, And many are those who hate me wrongfully.(nas) Psa 38:19 ὅτι τὴν ἀνομίαν μου ἐγὼ ἀναγγελῶ καὶ μεριμνήσω ὑπὲρ τῆς ἁμαρτίας μου (lxx) Psa 38:19 [Vulgate 37:20] inimici autem mei viventes confortati sunt et multiplicati sunt odientes me mendaciter(vulgate) 20 ׃38 וְֽ֭אֹיְבַי חַיִּ֣ים עָצֵ֑מוּ וְרַבּ֖וּ שֹׂנְאַ֣י שָֽׁקֶר׃ Psalms Psa 38:19 Aber meine Feinde leben und sind mächtig; die mich unbillig hassen, derer ist viel.(dhs) Psa 38:19 But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong; And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:20 ============ Psa 38:20 And those who repay evil for good, They oppose me, because I follow what is good.(nas) Psa 38:20 οἱ δὲ ἐχθροί μου ζῶσιν καὶ κεκραταίωνται ὑπὲρ ἐμέ καὶ ἐπληθύνθησαν οἱ μισοῦντές με ἀδίκως (lxx) Psa 38:20 [Vulgate 37:21] et qui reddunt malum pro bono adversabantur mihi quia sequebar bonum(vulgate) 21 ׃38 וּמְשַׁלְּמֵ֣י רָ֭עָה תַּ֣חַת טוֹבָ֑ה יִ֝שְׂטְנ֗וּנִי תַּ֣חַת *רדופי־**רָֽדְפִי־טֽוֹב׃ Psalms Psa 38:20 Und die mir Arges tun um Gutes, setzen sich wider mich, darum daß ich an dem Guten halte.(dhs) Psa 38:20 Those also who render evil for good, They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 38:21 ============ Psa 38:21 Do not forsake me, O Lord; O my God, do not be far from me!(nas) Psa 38:21 οἱ ἀνταποδιδόντες κακὰ ἀντὶ ἀγαθῶν ἐνδιέβαλλόν με ἐπεὶ κατεδίωκον δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἀπέρριψάν με τὸν ἀγαπητὸν ὡσεὶ νεκρὸν ἐβδελυγμένον (lxx) Psa 38:21 [Vulgate 37:22] ne derelinquas me Domine Deus meus ne elongeris a me(vulgate) 22 ׃38 אַל־תַּֽעַזְבֵ֥נִי יְהוָ֑ה אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י אַל־תִּרְחַ֥ק מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ Psalms Psa 38:21 Verlaß mich nicht, HERR!
