Today's Date: ======= Psalm 73:1 ============ Psa 73:1 Surely God is good to Israel, To those who are pure in heart!(nas) Psa 73:1 ψαλμὸς τῷ Ασαφ ὡς ἀγαθὸς τῷ Ισραηλ ὁ θεός τοῖς εὐθέσι τῇ καρδίᾳ (lxx) Psa 73:1 [Vulgate 72:1] canticum Asaph attamen bonus est Israhel Deus his qui mundo sunt corde(vulgate) 1 ׃73 מִזְמ֗וֹר לְאָ֫סָ֥ף אַ֤ךְ ט֖וֹב לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל אֱלֹהִ֗ים לְבָרֵ֥י לֵבָֽב׃ Psalms Psa 73:1 (Ein Psa lm Asaphs.) Israel hat dennoch Gott zum Trost, wer nur reines Herzens ist.(dhs) Psa 73:1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, To such as are pure in heart.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:2 ============ Psa 73:2 But as for me, my feet came close to stumbling, My steps had almost slipped.(nas) Psa 73:2 ἐμοῦ δὲ παρὰ μικρὸν ἐσαλεύθησαν οἱ πόδες παρ᾽ ὀλίγον ἐξεχύθη τὰ διαβήματά μου (lxx) Psa 73:2 [Vulgate 72:2] mei autem paene vacillaverunt pedes paene effusi sunt gressus mei(vulgate) 2 ׃73 וַאֲנִ֗י כִּ֭מְעַט *נטוי **נָטָ֣יוּ רַגְלָ֑י כְּ֝אַ֗יִן *שפכה **שֻׁפְּכ֥וּ אֲשֻׁרָֽי׃ Psalms Psa 73:2 Ich aber hätte schier gestrauchelt mit meinen Füßen; mein Tritt wäre beinahe geglitten.(dhs) Psa 73:2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; My steps had nearly slipped.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:3 ============ Psa 73:3 For I was envious of the arrogant As I saw the prosperity of the wicked.(nas) Psa 73:3 ὅτι ἐζήλωσα ἐπὶ τοῖς ἀνόμοις εἰρήνην ἁμαρτωλῶν θεωρῶν (lxx) Psa 73:3 [Vulgate 72:3] quia aemulatus sum contra iniquos pacem impiorum videns(vulgate) 3 ׃73 כִּֽי־קִ֭נֵּאתִי בַּֽהוֹלְלִ֑ים שְׁל֖וֹם רְשָׁעִ֣ים אֶרְאֶֽה׃ Psalms Psa 73:3 Denn es verdroß mich der Ruhmredigen, da ich sah, daß es den Gottlosen so wohl ging.(dhs) Psa 73:3 For I was envious of the boastful, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:4 ============ Psa 73:4 For there are no pains in their death, And their body is fat.(nas) Psa 73:4 ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἀνάνευσις τῷ θανάτῳ αὐτῶν καὶ στερέωμα ἐν τῇ μάστιγι αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 73:4 [Vulgate 72:4] quod non recogitaverint de morte sua et firma sint vestibula eorum(vulgate) 4 ׃73 כִּ֤י אֵ֖ין חַרְצֻבּ֥וֹת לְמוֹתָ֗ם וּבָרִ֥יא אוּלָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 73:4 Denn sie sind in keiner Gefahr des Todes, sondern stehen fest wie ein Palast.(dhs) Psa 73:4 For there are no pangs in their death, But their strength is firm.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:5 ============ Psa 73:5 They are not in trouble as other men, Nor are they plagued like mankind.(nas) Psa 73:5 ἐν κόποις ἀνθρώπων οὐκ εἰσὶν καὶ μετὰ ἀνθρώπων οὐ μαστιγωθήσονται (lxx) Psa 73:5 [Vulgate 72:5] in labore hominum non sunt et cum hominibus non flagellabuntur(vulgate) 5 ׃73 בַּעֲמַ֣ל אֱנ֣וֹשׁ אֵינֵ֑מוֹ וְעִם־אָ֝דָ֗ם לֹ֣א יְנֻגָּֽעוּ׃ Psalms Psa 73:5 Sie sind nicht in Unglück wie andere Leute und werden nicht wie andere Menschen geplagt.(dhs) Psa 73:5 They are not in trouble as other men, Nor are they plagued like other men.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:6 ============ Psa 73:6 Therefore pride is their necklace; The garment of violence covers them.(nas) Psa 73:6 διὰ τοῦτο ἐκράτησεν αὐτοὺς ἡ ὑπερηφανία περιεβάλοντο ἀδικίαν καὶ ἀσέβειαν αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 73:6 [Vulgate 72:6] ideo nutriti sunt ad superbiam circumdederunt iniquitatem sibi(vulgate) 6 ׃73 לָ֭כֵן עֲנָקַ֣תְמוֹ גַאֲוָ֑ה יַעֲטָף־שִׁ֝֗ית חָמָ֥ס לָֽמוֹ׃ Psalms Psa 73:6 Darum muß ihr Trotzen köstlich Ding sein, und ihr Frevel muß wohl getan heißen.(dhs) Psa 73:6 Therefore pride serves as their necklace; Violence covers them like a garment.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:7 ============ Psa 73:7 Their eye bulges from fatness; The imaginations of their heart run riot.(nas) Psa 73:7 ἐξελεύσεται ὡς ἐκ στέατος ἡ ἀδικία αὐτῶν διήλθοσαν εἰς διάθεσιν καρδίας (lxx) Psa 73:7 [Vulgate 72:7] processerunt a pinguidine oculi eorum transierunt cogitationes cordis(vulgate) 7 ׃73 יָ֭צָא מֵחֵ֣לֶב עֵינֵ֑מוֹ עָ֝בְר֗וּ מַשְׂכִּיּ֥וֹת לֵבָֽב׃ Psalms Psa 73:7 Ihre Person brüstet sich wie ein fetter Wanst; sie tun, was sie nur gedenken.(dhs) Psa 73:7 Their eyes bulge with abundance; They have more than heart could wish.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:8 ============ Psa 73:8 They mock and wickedly speak of oppression; They speak from on high.(nas) Psa 73:8 διενοήθησαν καὶ ἐλάλησαν ἐν πονηρίᾳ ἀδικίαν εἰς τὸ ὕψος ἐλάλησαν (lxx) Psa 73:8 [Vulgate 72:8] inriserunt et locuti sunt in malitia calumniam de excelso loquentes(vulgate) 8 ׃73 יָמִ֤יקוּ ׀ וִידַבְּר֣וּ בְרָ֣ע עֹ֑שֶׁק מִמָּר֥וֹם יְדַבֵּֽרוּ׃ Psalms Psa 73:8 Sie achten alles für nichts und reden übel davon und reden und lästern hoch her.(dhs) Psa 73:8 They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; They speak loftily.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:9 ============ Psa 73:9 They have set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue parades through the earth.(nas) Psa 73:9 ἔθεντο εἰς οὐρανὸν τὸ στόμα αὐτῶν καὶ ἡ γλῶσσα αὐτῶν διῆλθεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Psa 73:9 [Vulgate 72:9] posuerunt in caelo os suum et lingua eorum deambulavit in terra(vulgate) 9 ׃73 שַׁתּ֣וּ בַשָּׁמַ֣יִם פִּיהֶ֑ם וּ֝לְשׁוֹנָ֗ם תִּֽהֲלַ֥ךְ בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ Psalms Psa 73:9 Was sie reden, daß muß vom Himmel herab geredet sein; was sie sagen, das muß gelten auf Erden.(dhs) Psa 73:9 They set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue walks through the earth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:10 ============ Psa 73:10 Therefore his people return to this place, And waters of abundance are drunk by them.(nas) Psa 73:10 διὰ τοῦτο ἐπιστρέψει ὁ λαός μου ἐνταῦθα καὶ ἡμέραι πλήρεις εὑρεθήσονται αὐτοῖς (lxx) Psa 73:10 [Vulgate 72:10] propterea convertetur populus eius hic et quis plenus invenietur in eis(vulgate) 10 ׃73 לָכֵ֤ן ׀ *ישיב **יָשׁ֣וּב עַמּ֣וֹ הֲלֹ֑ם וּמֵ֥י מָ֝לֵ֗א יִמָּ֥צוּ לָֽמוֹ׃ Psalms Psa 73:10 Darum fällt ihnen ihr Pöbel zu und laufen ihnen zu mit Haufen wie Wasser(dhs) Psa 73:10 Therefore his people return here, And waters of a full cup are drained by them.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:11 ============ Psa 73:11 They say, "How does God know? And is there knowledge with the Most High?"(nas) Psa 73:11 καὶ εἶπαν πῶς ἔγνω ὁ θεός καὶ εἰ ἔστιν γνῶσις ἐν τῷ ὑψίστῳ (lxx) Psa 73:11 [Vulgate 72:11] et dixerunt quomodo novit Deus et si est scientia in Excelso(vulgate) 11 ׃73 וְֽאָמְר֗וּ אֵיכָ֥ה יָדַֽע־אֵ֑ל וְיֵ֖שׁ דֵּעָ֣ה בְעֶלְיֽוֹן׃ Psalms Psa 73:11 und sprechen: "Was sollte Gott nach jenen fragen? Was sollte der Höchste ihrer achten?"(dhs) Psa 73:11 And they say, "How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?"(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:12 ============ Psa 73:12 Behold, these are the wicked; And always at ease, they have increased in wealth.(nas) Psa 73:12 ἰδοὺ οὗτοι ἁμαρτωλοὶ καὶ εὐθηνοῦνται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα κατέσχον πλούτου (lxx) Psa 73:12 [Vulgate 72:12] ecce isti impii et abundantes in saeculo multiplicaverunt divitias(vulgate) 12 ׃73 הִנֵּה־אֵ֥לֶּה רְשָׁעִ֑ים וְשַׁלְוֵ֥י ע֝וֹלָ֗ם הִשְׂגּוּ־חָֽיִל׃ Psalms Psa 73:12 Siehe, das sind die Gottlosen; die sind glücklich in der Welt und werden reich.(dhs) Psa 73:12 Behold, these are the ungodly, Who are always at ease; They increase in riches.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:13 ============ Psa 73:13 Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure And washed my hands in innocence;(nas) Psa 73:13 καὶ εἶπα ἄρα ματαίως ἐδικαίωσα τὴν καρδίαν μου καὶ ἐνιψάμην ἐν ἀθῴοις τὰς χεῖράς μου (lxx) Psa 73:13 [Vulgate 72:13] ergone frustra mundavi cor meum et lavi in innocentia manus meas(vulgate) 13 ׃73 אַךְ־רִ֭יק זִכִּ֣יתִי לְבָבִ֑י וָאֶרְחַ֖ץ בְּנִקָּי֣וֹן כַּפָּֽי׃ Psalms Psa 73:13 Soll es denn umsonst sein, daß mein Herz unsträflich lebt und ich meine Hände in Unschuld wasche,(dhs) Psa 73:13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, And washed my hands in innocence.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:14 ============ Psa 73:14 For I have been stricken all day long And chastened every morning.(nas) Psa 73:14 καὶ ἐγενόμην μεμαστιγωμένος ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν καὶ ὁ ἔλεγχός μου εἰς τὰς πρωίας (lxx) Psa 73:14 [Vulgate 72:14] et fui flagellatus tota die et increpatio mea in matutinis(vulgate) 14 ׃73 וָאֱהִ֣י נָ֭גוּעַ כָּל־הַיּ֑וֹם וְ֝תוֹכַחְתִּ֗י לַבְּקָרִֽים׃ Psalms Psa 73:14 ich bin geplagt täglich, und meine Strafe ist alle Morgen da?(dhs) Psa 73:14 For all day long I have been plagued, And chastened every morning.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:15 ============ Psa 73:15 If I had said, "I will speak thus," Behold, I would have betrayed the generation of Your children.(nas) Psa 73:15 εἰ ἔλεγον διηγήσομαι οὕτως ἰδοὺ τῇ γενεᾷ τῶν υἱῶν σου ἠσυνθέτηκα (lxx) Psa 73:15 [Vulgate 72:15] dixi si narravero sic ecce generationem filiorum tuorum reliqui(vulgate) 15 ׃73 אִם־אָ֭מַרְתִּי אֲסַפְּרָ֥ה כְמ֑וֹ הִנֵּ֤ה ד֭וֹר בָּנֶ֣יךָ בָגָֽדְתִּי׃ Psalms Psa 73:15 Ich hätte auch schier so gesagt wie sie; aber siehe, damit hätte ich verdammt alle meine Kinder, die je gewesen sind.(dhs) Psa 73:15 If I had said, "I will speak thus," Behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:16 ============ Psa 73:16 When I pondered to understand this, It was troublesome in my sight(nas) Psa 73:16 καὶ ὑπέλαβον τοῦ γνῶναι τοῦτο κόπος ἐστὶν ἐναντίον μου (lxx) Psa 73:16 [Vulgate 72:16] et cogitavi ut intellegerem istud labor est in oculis meis(vulgate) 16 ׃73 וָֽ֭אֲחַשְּׁבָה לָדַ֣עַת זֹ֑את עָמָ֖ל *היא **ה֣וּא בְעֵינָֽי׃ Psalms Psa 73:16 Ich dachte ihm nach, daß ich's begreifen möchte; aber es war mir zu schwer,(dhs) Psa 73:16 When I thought how to understand this, It was too painful for me--(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:17 ============ Psa 73:17 Until I came into the sanctuary of God; Then I perceived their end.(nas) Psa 73:17 ἕως εἰσέλθω εἰς τὸ ἁγιαστήριον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ συνῶ εἰς τὰ ἔσχατα αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 73:17 [Vulgate 72:17] donec veniam ad sanctuaria Dei intellegam in novissimo eorum(vulgate) 17 ׃73 עַד־אָ֭בוֹא אֶל־מִקְדְּשֵׁי־אֵ֑ל אָ֝בִ֗ינָה לְאַחֲרִיתָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 73:17 bis daß ich ging in das Heiligtum Gottes und merkte auf ihr Ende.(dhs) Psa 73:17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:18 ============ Psa 73:18 Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction.(nas) Psa 73:18 πλὴν διὰ τὰς δολιότητας ἔθου αὐτοῖς κατέβαλες αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ ἐπαρθῆναι (lxx) Psa 73:18 [Vulgate 72:18] verumtamen in lubrico posuisti eos deiecisti eos ad interitum(vulgate) 18 ׃73 אַ֣ךְ בַּ֭חֲלָקוֹת תָּשִׁ֣ית לָ֑מוֹ הִ֝פַּלְתָּ֗ם לְמַשּׁוּאֽוֹת׃ Psalms Psa 73:18 Ja, du setzest sie aufs Schlüpfrige und stürzest sie zu Boden.(dhs) Psa 73:18 Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:19 ============ Psa 73:19 How they are destroyed in a moment! They are utterly swept away by sudden terrors!(nas) Psa 73:19 πῶς ἐγένοντο εἰς ἐρήμωσιν ἐξάπινα ἐξέλιπον ἀπώλοντο διὰ τὴν ἀνομίαν αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 73:19 [Vulgate 72:19] quomodo vastati sunt subito defecerunt consumpti sunt quasi non sint(vulgate) 19 ׃73 אֵ֤יךְ הָי֣וּ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה כְרָ֑גַע סָ֥פוּ תַ֝֗מּוּ מִן־בַּלָּהֽוֹת׃ Psalms Psa 73:19 Wie werden sie so plötzlich zunichte! Sie gehen unter und nehmen ein Ende mit Schrecken.(dhs) Psa 73:19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:20 ============ Psa 73:20 Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when aroused, You will despise their form.(nas) Psa 73:20 ὡσεὶ ἐνύπνιον ἐξεγειρομένου κύριε ἐν τῇ πόλει σου τὴν εἰκόνα αὐτῶν ἐξουδενώσεις (lxx) Psa 73:20 [Vulgate 72:20] quasi somnium evigilantis Domine in civitate tua imaginem eorum ad nihilum rediges(vulgate) 20 ׃73 כַּחֲל֥וֹם מֵהָקִ֑יץ אֲ֝דֹנָי בָּעִ֤יר ׀ צַלְמָ֬ם תִּבְזֶֽה׃ Psalms Psa 73:20 Wie ein Traum, wenn einer erwacht, so machst du, HERR, ihr Bild in der Stadt verschmäht.(dhs) Psa 73:20 As a dream when one awakes, So, Lord, when You awake, You shall despise their image.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:21 ============ Psa 73:21 When my heart was embittered And I was pierced within,(nas) Psa 73:21 ὅτι ἐξεκαύθη ἡ καρδία μου καὶ οἱ νεφροί μου ἠλλοιώθησαν (lxx) Psa 73:21 [Vulgate 72:21] quia contractum est cor meum et lumbi mei velut ignis fumigans(vulgate) 21 ׃73 כִּ֭י יִתְחַמֵּ֣ץ לְבָבִ֑י וְ֝כִלְיוֹתַ֗י אֶשְׁתּוֹנָֽן׃ Psalms Psa 73:21 Da es mir wehe tat im Herzen und mich stach in meine Nieren,(dhs) Psa 73:21 Thus my heart was grieved, And I was vexed in my mind.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:22 ============ Psa 73:22 Then I was senseless and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.(nas) Psa 73:22 καὶ ἐγὼ ἐξουδενωμένος καὶ οὐκ ἔγνων κτηνώδης ἐγενόμην παρὰ σοί (lxx) Psa 73:22 [Vulgate 72:22] et ego insipiens et nescius(vulgate) 22 ׃73 וַאֲנִי־בַ֭עַר וְלֹ֣א אֵדָ֑ע בְּ֝הֵמ֗וֹת הָיִ֥יתִי עִמָּֽךְ׃ Psalms Psa 73:22 da war ich ein Narr und wußte nichts; ich war wie ein Tier vor dir.(dhs) Psa 73:22 I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:23 ============ Psa 73:23 Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand.(nas) Psa 73:23 καὶ ἐγὼ διὰ παντὸς μετὰ σοῦ ἐκράτησας τῆς χειρὸς τῆς δεξιᾶς μου (lxx) Psa 73:23 [Vulgate 72:23] quasi iumentum factus sum apud te et eram semper tecum(vulgate) 23 ׃73 וַאֲנִ֣י תָמִ֣יד עִמָּ֑ךְ אָ֝חַ֗זְתָּ בְּיַד־יְמִינִֽי׃ Psalms Psa 73:23 Dennoch bleibe ich stets an dir; denn du hältst mich bei meiner rechten Hand,(dhs) Psa 73:23 Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:24 ============ Psa 73:24 With Your counsel You will guide me, And afterward receive me to glory.(nas) Psa 73:24 ἐν τῇ βουλῇ σου ὡδήγησάς με καὶ μετὰ δόξης προσελάβου με (lxx) Psa 73:24 [Vulgate 72:24] et tenebas manum dexteram meam in consilium tuum deduces me et postea in gloria suscipies me(vulgate) 24 ׃73 בַּעֲצָתְךָ֥ תַנְחֵ֑נִי וְ֝אַחַ֗ר כָּב֥וֹד תִּקָּחֵֽנִי׃ Psalms Psa 73:24 du leitest mich nach deinem Rat und nimmst mich endlich in Ehren an.(dhs) Psa 73:24 You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 73:25 ============ Psa 73:25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.(nas) Psa 73:25 τί γάρ μοι ὑπάρχει ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ καὶ παρὰ σοῦ τί ἠθέλησα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Psa 73:25 [Vulgate 72:25] quid mihi est in caelo et tecum nolui in terra(vulgate) 25 ׃73 מִי־לִ֥י בַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְ֝עִמְּךָ֗ לֹא־חָפַ֥צְתִּי בָאָֽרֶץ׃ Psalms Psa 73:25 Wenn ich nur dich habe, so frage ich nichts nach Himmel und Erde.(dhs) Psa 73:25 Whom have I in heaven but You?
