Today's Date: ======= Zechariah 5:1 ============ Zec 5:1 Then I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, there was a flying scroll.(nas) Zec 5:1 καὶ ἐπέστρεψα καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δρέπανον πετόμενον (lxx) Zec 5:1 Et conversus sum, et levavi oculos meos, et vidi, et ecce volumen volans.(vulgate) 1 ׃5 וָאָשׁ֕וּב וָאֶשָּׂ֥א עֵינַ֖י וָֽאֶרְאֶ֑ה וְהִנֵּ֖ה מְגִלָּ֥ה עָפָֽה׃ Zechariah Zec 5:1 Und ich hob meine Augen abermals auf und sah, und siehe, da war ein fliegender Brief.(dhs) Zec 5:1 Then I turned and raised my eyes, and saw there a flying scroll.(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:2 ============ Zec 5:2 And he said to me, "What do you see?" And I answered, "I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits and its width ten cubits."(nas) Zec 5:2 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με τί σὺ βλέπεις καὶ εἶπα ἐγὼ ὁρῶ δρέπανον πετόμενον μῆκος πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ πλάτος πήχεων δέκα (lxx) Zec 5:2 Et dixit ad me: Quid tu vides? Et dixi: Ego video volumen volans: longitudo ejus viginti cubitorum, et latitudo ejus decem cubitorum.(vulgate) 2 ׃5 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י מָ֥ה אַתָּ֖ה רֹאֶ֑ה וָאֹמַ֗ר אֲנִ֤י רֹאֶה֙ מְגִלָּ֣ה עָפָ֔ה אָרְכָּהּ֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה וְרָחְבָּ֖הּ עֶ֥שֶׂר בָּאַמָּֽה׃ Zechariah Zec 5:2 Und er sprach zu mir: Was siehst du? Ich aber sprach: Ich sehe einen fliegenden Brief, der ist zwanzig ellen lang und zehn Ellen breit.(dhs) Zec 5:2 And he said to me, "What do you see?" So I answered, "I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits and its width ten cubits."(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:3 ============ Zec 5:3 Then he said to me, "This is the curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears will be purged away according to the writing on the other side.(nas) Zec 5:3 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με αὕτη ἡ ἀρὰ ἡ ἐκπορευομένη ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς διότι πᾶς ὁ κλέπτης ἐκ τούτου ἕως θανάτου ἐκδικηθήσεται καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἐπίορκος ἐκ τούτου ἕως θανάτου ἐκδικηθήσεται (lxx) Zec 5:3 Et dixit ad me: Hæc est maledictio quæ egreditur super faciem omnis terræ: quia omnis fur, sicut ibi scriptum est, judicabitur, et omnis jurans ex hoc similiter judicabitur.(vulgate) 3 ׃5 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י זֹ֚את הָֽאָלָ֔ה הַיּוֹצֵ֖את עַל־פְּנֵ֣י כָל־הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּ֣י כָל־הַגֹּנֵ֗ב מִזֶּה֙ כָּמ֣וֹהָ נִקָּ֔ה וְכָל־הַ֨נִּשְׁבָּ֔ע מִזֶּ֖ה כָּמ֥וֹהָ נִקָּֽה׃ Zechariah Zec 5:3 Und er sprach zu mir: das ist der Fluch, welcher ausgeht über das ganze Land; denn alle Diebe werden nach diesem Briefe ausgefegt, und alle Meineidigen werden nach diesem Briefe ausgefegt.(dhs) Zec 5:3 Then he said to me, "This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth: 'Every thief shall be expelled,' according to this side of the scroll; and, 'Every perjurer shall be expelled,' according to that side of it."(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:4 ============ Zec 5:4 I will make it go forth," declares the Lord of hosts, "and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and consume it with its timber and stones."(nas) Zec 5:4 καὶ ἐξοίσω αὐτό λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ κλέπτου καὶ εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ὀμνύοντος τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐπὶ ψεύδει καὶ καταλύσει ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ συντελέσει αὐτὸν καὶ τὰ ξύλα αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς λίθους αὐτοῦ (lxx) Zec 5:4 Educam illud, dicit Dominus exercituum: et veniet ad domum furis, et ad domum jurantis in nomine meo mendaciter: et commorabitur in medio domus ejus, et consumet eam, et ligna ejus, et lapides ejus.~(vulgate) 4 ׃5 הוֹצֵאתִ֗יהָ נְאֻם֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּבָ֙אָה֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ית הַגַּנָּ֔ב וְאֶל־בֵּ֛ית הַנִּשְׁבָּ֥ע בִּשְׁמִ֖י לַשָּׁ֑קֶר וְלָ֙נֶה֙ בְּת֣וֹךְ בֵּית֔וֹ וְכִלַּ֖תּוּ וְאֶת־עֵצָ֥יו וְאֶת־אֲבָנָֽיו׃ Zechariah Zec 5:4 Ich will ihn ausgehen lassen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, daß er soll kommen über das Haus des Diebes und über das Haus derer, die bei meinem Namen fälschlich schwören; er soll bleiben in ihrem Hause und soll's verzehren samt seinem Holz und Steinen.(dhs) Zec 5:4 "I will send out the curse," says the Lord of hosts; "It shall enter the house of the thief And the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It shall remain in the midst of his house And consume it, with its timber and stones."(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:5 ============ Zec 5:5 Then the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, "Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth."(nas) Zec 5:5 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ λαλῶν ἐν ἐμοὶ καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ἀνάβλεψον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ἰδὲ τί τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον τοῦτο (lxx) Zec 5:5 Et egressus est angelus qui loquebatur in me, et dixit ad me: Leva oculos tuos, et vide quid est hoc quod egreditur.(vulgate) 5 ׃5 וַיֵּצֵ֕א הַמַּלְאָ֖ךְ הַדֹּבֵ֣ר בִּ֑י וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י שָׂ֣א נָ֤א עֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ וּרְאֵ֔ה מָ֖ה הַיּוֹצֵ֥את הַזֹּֽאת׃ Zechariah Zec 5:5 Und der Engel, der mit mir redete, ging heraus und sprach zu mir: Hebe deine Augen auf und siehe! Was geht da heraus?(dhs) Zec 5:5 Then the angel who talked with me came out and said to me, "Lift your eyes now, and see what this is that goes forth."(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:6 ============ Zec 5:6 I said, "What is it?" And he said, "This is the ephah going forth." Again he said, "This is their appearance in all the land(nas) Zec 5:6 καὶ εἶπα τί ἐστιν καὶ εἶπεν τοῦτο τὸ μέτρον τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον καὶ εἶπεν αὕτη ἡ ἀδικία αὐτῶν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ (lxx) Zec 5:6 Et dixi: Quidnam est? Et ait: Hæc est amphora egrediens. Et dixit: Hæc est oculus eorum in universa terra.(vulgate) 6 ׃5 וָאֹמַ֖ר מַה־הִ֑יא וַיֹּ֗אמֶר זֹ֤את הָֽאֵיפָה֙ הַיּוֹצֵ֔את וַיֹּ֕אמֶר זֹ֥את עֵינָ֖ם בְּכָל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Zechariah Zec 5:6 Und ich sprach: Was ist's? Er aber sprach: Ein Epha geht heraus, und sprach: Das ist ihre Gestalt im ganzen Lande.(dhs) Zec 5:6 So I asked, "What is it?" And he said, "It is a basket that is going forth." He also said, "This is their resemblance throughout the earth:(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:7 ============ Zec 5:7 (and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah."(nas) Zec 5:7 καὶ ἰδοὺ τάλαντον μολίβου ἐξαιρόμενον καὶ ἰδοὺ μία γυνὴ ἐκάθητο ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ μέτρου (lxx) Zec 5:7 Et ecce talentum plumbi portabatur, et ecce mulier una sedens in medio amphoræ.(vulgate) 7 ׃5 וְהִנֵּ֛ה כִּכַּ֥ר עֹפֶ֖רֶת נִשֵּׂ֑את וְזֹאת֙ אִשָּׁ֣ה אַחַ֔ת יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת בְּת֥וֹךְ הָאֵיפָֽה׃ Zechariah Zec 5:7 Und siehe, es hob sich ein Zentner Blei; und da war ein Weib, das saß im Epha.(dhs) Zec 5:7 Here is a lead disc lifted up, and this is a woman sitting inside the basket";(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:8 ============ Zec 5:8 Then he said, "This is Wickedness!" And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and cast the lead weight on its opening.(nas) Zec 5:8 καὶ εἶπεν αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ ἀνομία καὶ ἔρριψεν αὐτὴν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ μέτρου καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸν λίθον τοῦ μολίβου εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς (lxx) Zec 5:8 Et dixit: Hæc est impietas. Et projecit eam in medio amphoræ, et misit massam plumbeam in os ejus.(vulgate) 8 ׃5 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ זֹ֣את הָרִשְׁעָ֔ה וַיַּשְׁלֵ֥ךְ אֹתָ֖הּ אֶל־תּ֣וֹךְ הָֽאֵיפָ֑ה וַיַּשְׁלֵ֛ךְ אֶת־אֶ֥בֶן הָעֹפֶ֖רֶת אֶל־פִּֽיהָ׃ ס Zechariah Zec 5:8 Er aber sprach: Das ist die Gottlosigkeit. Und er warf sie in das Epha und warf den Klumpen Blei oben aufs Loch.(dhs) Zec 5:8 then he said, "This is Wickedness!" And he thrust her down into the basket, and threw the lead cover over its mouth.(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:9 ============ Zec 5:9 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.(nas) Zec 5:9 καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δύο γυναῖκες ἐκπορευόμεναι καὶ πνεῦμα ἐν ταῖς πτέρυξιν αὐτῶν καὶ αὗται εἶχον πτέρυγας ὡς πτέρυγας ἔποπος καὶ ἀνέλαβον τὸ μέτρον ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ (lxx) Zec 5:9 Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi: et ecce duæ mulieres egredientes: et spiritus in alis earum, et habebant alas quasi alas milvi, et levaverunt amphoram inter terram et cælum.(vulgate) 9 ׃5 וָאֶשָּׂ֨א עֵינַ֜י וָאֵ֗רֶא וְהִנֵּה֩ שְׁתַּ֨יִם נָשִׁ֤ים יֽוֹצְאוֹת֙ וְר֣וּחַ בְּכַנְפֵיהֶ֔ם וְלָהֵ֥נָּה כְנָפַ֖יִם כְּכַנְפֵ֣י הַחֲסִידָ֑ה וַתִּשֶּׂ֙אנָה֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֵיפָ֔ה בֵּ֥ין הָאָ֖רֶץ וּבֵ֥ין הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ Zechariah Zec 5:9 Und ich hob meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, zwei Weiber gingen heraus und hatten Flügel, die der Wind trieb, es waren aber Flügel wie Storchflügel; und sie führten das Epha zwischen Erde und Himmel.(dhs) Zec 5:9 Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were two women, coming with the wind in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between earth and heaven.(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:10 ============ Zec 5:10 I said to the angel who was speaking with me, "Where are they taking the ephah?"(nas) Zec 5:10 καὶ εἶπα πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον τὸν λαλοῦντα ἐν ἐμοί ποῦ αὗται ἀποφέρουσιν τὸ μέτρον (lxx) Zec 5:10 Et dixi ad angelum qui loquebatur in me: Quo istæ deferunt amphoram?(vulgate) 10 ׃5 וָאֹמַ֕ר אֶל־הַמַּלְאָ֖ךְ הַדֹּבֵ֣ר בִּ֑י אָ֛נָה הֵ֥מָּה מֽוֹלִכ֖וֹת אֶת־הָאֵיפָֽה׃ Zechariah Zec 5:10 Und ich sprach zu dem Engel, der mit mir redete: Wo führen die das Epha hin?(dhs) Zec 5:10 So I said to the angel who talked with me, "Where are they carrying the basket?"(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 5:11 ============ Zec 5:11 Then he said to me, "To build a temple for her in the land of Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal."(nas) Zec 5:11 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με οἰκοδομῆσαι αὐτῷ οἰκίαν ἐν γῇ Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἑτοιμάσαι καὶ θήσουσιν αὐτὸ ἐκεῖ ἐπὶ τὴν ἑτοιμασίαν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Zec 5:11 Et dixit ad me: Ut ædificetur ei domus in terra Sennaar, et stabiliatur, et ponatur ibi super basem suam.(vulgate) 11 ׃5 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י לִבְנֽוֹת־לָ֥הֿ בַ֖יִת בְּאֶ֣רֶץ שִׁנְעָ֑ר וְהוּכַ֛ן וְהֻנִּ֥יחָה שָּׁ֖ם עַל־מְכֻנָתָֽהּ׃ ס Zechariah Zec 5:11 Er aber sprach zu mir: Daß ihm ein Haus gebaut werde im Lande Sinear und bereitet und es daselbst gesetzt werde auf seinen Boden.(dhs) Zec 5:11 And he said to me, "To build a house for it in the land of Shinar; when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its base."(nkjv) ======= Zechariah 6:1 ============ top of the page
