(Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:2 Fecerunt autem ei cœnam ibi, et Martha ministrabat, Lazarus vero unus erat ex discumbentibus cum eo.(vulgate) וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־לוֹ שָׁם מִשְׁתֶּה בָּעָרֶב וּמַרְתָא מְשָׁרַת אֹתוֹ וְאֶלְעָזָר הָיָה אֶחָד מִן־הַיֹּשְׁבִים אֶל־הַשֻּׁלְחָן׃ ב John Jn 12:2 Daselbst machten sie ihm ein Abendmahl, und Martha diente; Lazarus aber war deren einer, die mit ihm zu Tische saßen.(dhs) Jn 12:2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.(nkjv) ======= John 12:3 ============ Jn 12:3 Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.(nas) Jn 12:3 ἡ οὗν μαριὰμ λαβοῦσα λίτραν μύρου νάρδου πιστικῆς πολυτίμου ἤλειψεν τοὺς πόδας τοῦ ἰησοῦ καὶ ἐξέμαξεν ταῖς θριξὶν αὐτῆς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ· ἡ δὲ οἰκία ἐπληρώθη ἐκ τῆς ὀσμῆς τοῦ μύρου. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:3 Maria ergo accepit libram unguenti nardi pistici pretiosi, et unxit pedes Jesu, et extersit pedes ejus capillis suis: et domus impleta est ex odore unguenti.(vulgate) וַתִּקַּח מִרְיָם מִרְקַחַת נֵרְדְּ זַךְ וִיקַר־עֵרֶךְ מְאֹד לִטְרָא אַחַת מִשְׁקָלָהּ וַתִּמְשַׁח אֶת־רַגְלֵי יֵשׁוּעַ וּבְשַׂעֲרֹתֶיהָ נִגְּבָה אֶת־רַגְלָיו וְהַבַּיִת מָלֵא רֵיחַ הַמִּרְקָחַת׃ ג John Jn 12:3 Da nahm Maria ein Pfund Salbe von ungefälschter, köstlicher Narde und salbte die Füße Jesu und trocknete mit ihrem Haar seine Füße; das Haus aber ward voll vom Geruch der Salbe.(dhs) Jn 12:3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.(nkjv) ======= John 12:4 ============ Jn 12:4 But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was intending to betray Him, said,(nas) Jn 12:4 λέγει δὲ ἰούδας ὁ ἰσκαριώτης εἷς [ἐκ] τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ, ὁ μέλλων αὐτὸν παραδιδόναι, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:4 Dixit ergo unus ex discipulis ejus, Judas Iscariotes, qui erat eum traditurus:(vulgate) וְאֶחָד מִתַּלְמִידָיו הוּא יְהוּדָה בֶּן־שִׁמְעוֹן אִישׁ־קְרִיּוֹת אֲשֶׁר אַחֲרֵי־כֵן הִסְגִּירוֹ אָמַר לֵאמֹר׃ ד John Jn 12:4 Da sprach seiner Jünger einer, Judas, Simons Sohn, Ischariot, der ihn hernach verriet:(dhs) Jn 12:4 Then one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said,(nkjv) ======= John 12:5 ============ Jn 12:5 "Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor people?"(nas) Jn 12:5 διὰ τί τοῦτο τὸ μύρον οὐκ ἐπράθη τριακοσίων δηναρίων καὶ ἐδόθη πτωχοῖς; (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:5 Quare hoc unguentum non veniit trecentis denariis, et datum est egenis?(vulgate) עַל־מֶה לֹא־תִמָּכֵר הַמִּרְקַחַת הַזֹּאת בִּשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת דִּינָר לָתֵת לָעֲנִיִּים׃ ה John Jn 12:5 Warum ist diese Salbe nicht verkauft um dreihundert Groschen und den Armen gegeben?(dhs) Jn 12:5 "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?"(nkjv) ======= John 12:6 ============ Jn 12:6 Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it.(nas) Jn 12:6 εἶπεν δὲ τοῦτο οὐχ ὅτι περὶ τῶν πτωχῶν ἔμελεν αὐτῶ ἀλλ᾽ ὅτι κλέπτης ἦν καὶ τὸ γλωσσόκομον ἔχων τὰ βαλλόμενα ἐβάσταζεν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:6 Dixit autem hoc, non quia de egenis pertinebat ad eum, sed quia fur erat, et loculos habens, ea quæ mittebantur, portabat.(vulgate) וְהוּא דִּבֶּר כָזֹאת לֹא מִדַּאֲגָתוֹ לָעֲנִיִּים רַק יַעַן כִּי־גַנָּב הָיָה וַאֲרוֹן אוֹצָרָם בְּיָדוֹ וְנָשָׂא מֵאֲשֶׁר נָתוּן בּוֹ׃ ו John Jn 12:6 Das sagte er aber nicht, daß er nach den Armen fragte; sondern er war ein Dieb und hatte den Beutel und trug, was gegeben ward.(dhs) Jn 12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.(nkjv) ======= John 12:7 ============ Jn 12:7 Therefore Jesus said, "Let her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of My burial.(nas) Jn 12:7 εἶπεν οὗν ὁ ἰησοῦς, ἄφες αὐτήν, ἵνα εἰς τὴν ἡμέραν τοῦ ἐνταφιασμοῦ μου τηρήσῃ αὐτό· (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:7 Dixit ergo Jesus: Sinite illam ut in diem sepulturæ meæ servet illud.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר יֵשׁוּעַ הַנַּח־לָהּ לְיוֹם קְבֻרָתִי הֵכִינָה זֹאת׃ ז John Jn 12:7 Da sprach Jesus: Laß sie in Frieden! Solches hat sie behalten zum Tage meines Begräbnisses.(dhs) Jn 12:7 But Jesus said, "Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial.(nkjv) ======= John 12:8 ============ Jn 12:8 For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me."(nas) Jn 12:8 τοὺς πτωχοὺς γὰρ πάντοτε ἔχετε μεθ᾽ ἑαυτῶν, ἐμὲ δὲ οὐ πάντοτε ἔχετε. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:8 Pauperes enim semper habetis vobiscum: me autem non semper habetis.(vulgate) כִּי אֶת־הָעֲנִיִּים תִּמְצְאוּ לִפְנֵיכֶם תָּמִיד וְאֹתִי לֹא תִמְצְאוּ תָּמִיד לִפְנֵיכֶם׃ ח John Jn 12:8 Denn Arme habt ihr allezeit bei euch; mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit.(dhs) Jn 12:8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always."(nkjv) ======= John 12:9 ============ Jn 12:9 The large crowd of the Jews then learned that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead.(nas) Jn 12:9 ἔγνω οὗν [ὁ] ὄχλος πολὺς ἐκ τῶν ἰουδαίων ὅτι ἐκεῖ ἐστιν, καὶ ἦλθον οὐ διὰ τὸν ἰησοῦν μόνον ἀλλ᾽ ἵνα καὶ τὸν λάζαρον ἴδωσιν ὃν ἤγειρεν ἐκ νεκρῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:9 Cognovit ergo turba multa ex Judæis quia illic est, et venerunt, non propter Jesum tantum, sed ut Lazarum viderent, quem suscitavit a mortuis.~(vulgate) וְרַבִּים מִן־הַיְּהוּדִים שָׁמְעוּ כִּי הוּא שָׁם וַיָּבֹאוּ לֹא־בַעֲבוּר יֵשׁוּעַ לְבַדּוֹ כִּי אִם־גַּם־לִרְאוֹת אֶת־אֶלְעָזָר אֲשֶׁר הֶחֱיָה מִן־הַמֵּתִים׃ ט John Jn 12:9 Da erfuhr viel Volks der Juden, daß er daselbst war; und sie kamen nicht um Jesu willen allein, sondern daß sie auch Lazarus sähen, welchen er von den Toten auferweckt hatte.(dhs) Jn 12:9 Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.(nkjv) ======= John 12:10 ============ Jn 12:10 But the chief priests planned to put Lazarus to death also;(nas) Jn 12:10 ἐβουλεύσαντο δὲ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἵνα καὶ τὸν λάζαρον ἀποκτείνωσιν, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:10 Cogitaverunt autem principes sacerdotum ut et Lazarum interficerent:(vulgate) וַיִּוָּעֲצוּ רָאשֵׁי הַכֹּהֲנִים לַהֲרֹג גַּם אֶת־אֶלְעָזָר׃ י John Jn 12:10 Aber die Hohenpriester trachteten darnach, daß sie auch Lazarus töteten;(dhs) Jn 12:10 But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also,(nkjv) ======= John 12:11 ============ Jn 12:11 because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and were believing in Jesus.(nas) Jn 12:11 ὅτι πολλοὶ δι᾽ αὐτὸν ὑπῆγον τῶν ἰουδαίων καὶ ἐπίστευον εἰς τὸν ἰησοῦν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:11 quia multi propter illum abibant ex Judæis, et credebant in Jesum.(vulgate) כִּי בִּגְלָלוֹ אָזְלוּ יְהוּדִים רַבִּים וַיַּאֲמִינוּ בְּיֵשׁוּעַ׃ יא John Jn 12:11 denn um seinetwillen gingen viele Juden hin und glaubten an Jesus.(dhs) Jn 12:11 because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.(nkjv) ======= John 12:12 ============ Jn 12:12 On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,(nas) Jn 12:12 τῇ ἐπαύριον ὁ ὄχλος πολὺς ὁ ἐλθὼν εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, ἀκούσαντες ὅτι ἔρχεται ὁ ἰησοῦς εἰς ἱεροσόλυμα, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:12 In crastinum autem, turba multa quæ venerat ad diem festum, cum audissent quia venit Jesus Jerosolymam,(vulgate) וַיְהִי מִמָּחֳרָת כִּשְׁמֹעַ רַבִּים מִן־הָעָם מִן־עוֹלֵי הָרֶגֶל כִּי יֵשׁוּעַ בָּא יְרוּשָׁלָיְמָה׃ יב John Jn 12:12 Des andern Tages, da viel Volks, das aufs Fest gekommen war, hörte, daß Jesus käme gen Jerusalem,(dhs) Jn 12:12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,(nkjv) ======= John 12:13 ============ Jn 12:13 took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, "Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel."(nas) Jn 12:13 ἔλαβον τὰ βαΐα τῶν φοινίκων καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς ὑπάντησιν αὐτῶ, καὶ ἐκραύγαζον, ὡσαννά· εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου, [καὶ] ὁ βασιλεὺς τοῦ ἰσραήλ. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:13 acceperunt ramos palmarum, et processerunt obviam ei, et clamabant: Hosanna, benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini, rex Israël.(vulgate) וַיִּקְחוּ כַפּוֹת תְּמָרִים בְּיָדָם וַיֵּצְאוּ לִקְרָאתוֹ וַיָּרִיעוּ הוֹשַׁע־נָא בָּרוּךְ הַבָּא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֹה מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ יג John Jn 12:13 nahmen sie Palmenzweige und gingen hinaus ihm entgegen und schrieen: Hosianna! Gelobt sei, der da kommt in dem Namen des HERRN, der König von Israel!(dhs) Jn 12:13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: "Hosanna! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!' The King of Israel!"(nkjv) ======= John 12:14 ============ Jn 12:14 Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written,(nas) Jn 12:14 εὑρὼν δὲ ὁ ἰησοῦς ὀνάριον ἐκάθισεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτό, καθώς ἐστιν γεγραμμένον, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:14 Et invenit Jesus asellum, et sedit super eum, sicut scriptum est:(vulgate) וַיִּמְצָא יֵשׁוּעַ עַיִר וַיִּרְכַּב עָלָיו כַּכָּתוּב׃ יד John Jn 12:14 Jesus aber fand ein Eselein und ritt darauf; wie denn geschrieben steht:(dhs) Jn 12:14 Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:(nkjv) ======= John 12:15 ============ Jn 12:15 "FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY'S COLT."(nas) Jn 12:15 μὴ φοβοῦ, θυγάτηρ σιών· ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεύς σου ἔρχεται, καθήμενος ἐπὶ πῶλον ὄνου. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:15 Noli timere, filia Sion: ecce rex tuus venit sedens super pullum asinæ.(vulgate) אַל־תִּירְאִי בַּת־צִיּוֹן הִנֵּה מַלְכֵּךְ יָבוֹא לָךְ רֹכֵב עַל־עַיִר בֶּן־אֲתֹנוֹת׃ טו John Jn 12:15 "Fürchte dich nicht du Tochter Zion! Siehe, dein König kommt, reitend auf einem Eselsfüllen."(dhs) Jn 12:15 "Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey's colt."(nkjv) ======= John 12:16 ============ Jn 12:16 These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things to Him.(nas) Jn 12:16 ταῦτα οὐκ ἔγνωσαν αὐτοῦ οἱ μαθηταὶ τὸ πρῶτον, ἀλλ᾽ ὅτε ἐδοξάσθη ἰησοῦς τότε ἐμνήσθησαν ὅτι ταῦτα ἦν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶ γεγραμμένα καὶ ταῦτα ἐποίησαν αὐτῶ. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:16 Hæc non cognoverunt discipuli ejus primum: sed quando glorificatus est Jesus, tunc recordati sunt quia hæc erant scripta de eo, et hæc fecerunt ei.(vulgate) וְכָל־זֹאת לֹא־הֵבִינוּ תַלְמִידָיו בַּתְּחִילָּה אַךְ כַּאֲשֶׁר לֻקַּח יֵשׁוּעַ אַחַר כָּבוֹד זָכְרוּ אָז כִּי־כֹה כָּתוּב עָלָיו וְכֹה גַם־עֲשׂוּ לוֹ׃ טז John Jn 12:16 Solches verstanden seine Jünger zuvor nicht; sondern da Jesus verklärt ward, da dachten sie daran, daß solches von ihm geschrieben war und sie solches ihm getan hatten.(dhs) Jn 12:16 His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.(nkjv) ======= John 12:17 ============ Jn 12:17 So the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead, continued to testify about Him.(nas) Jn 12:17 ἐμαρτύρει οὗν ὁ ὄχλος ὁ ὢν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ὅτε τὸν λάζαρον ἐφώνησεν ἐκ τοῦ μνημείου καὶ ἤγειρεν αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:17 Testimonium ergo perhibebat turba, quæ erat cum eo quando Lazarum vocavit de monumento, et suscitavit eum a mortuis.(vulgate) וְהָעָם אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ אִתּוֹ הֵעִידוּ בְפִיהֶם כִּי קָרָא אֶת־אֶלְעָזָר מִן־קִבְרוֹ וַיְחַיֵּהוּ מִן־הַמֵּתִים׃ יז John Jn 12:17 Das Volk aber, das mit ihm war, da er Lazarus aus dem Grabe rief und von den Toten auferweckte, rühmte die Tat.(dhs) Jn 12:17 Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness.(nkjv) ======= John 12:18 ============ Jn 12:18 For this reason also the people went and met Him, because they heard that He had performed this sign.(nas) Jn 12:18 διὰ τοῦτο [καὶ] ὑπήντησεν αὐτῶ ὁ ὄχλος ὅτι ἤκουσαν τοῦτο αὐτὸν πεποιηκέναι τὸ σημεῖον. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:18 Propterea et obviam venit ei turba: quia audierunt fecisse hoc signum.(vulgate) וְעַל־כֵּן יָצְאוּ הָעָם לִקְרָאתוֹ אַחֲרֵי שָׁמְעָם כִּי עָשָׂה אֶת־הָאוֹת הַזֶּה׃ יח John Jn 12:18 Darum ging ihm auch das Volk entgegen, da sie hörten, er hätte solches Zeichen getan.(dhs) Jn 12:18 For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this sign.(nkjv) ======= John 12:19 ============ Jn 12:19 So the Pharisees said to one another, "You see that you are not doing any good; look, the world has gone after Him."(nas) Jn 12:19 οἱ οὗν φαρισαῖοι εἶπαν πρὸς ἑαυτούς, θεωρεῖτε ὅτι οὐκ ὠφελεῖτε οὐδέν· ἴδε ὁ κόσμος ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ ἀπῆλθεν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:19 Pharisæi ergo dixerunt ad semetipsos: Videtis quia nihil proficimus? ecce mundus totus post eum abiit.~(vulgate) וְהַפְּרוּשִׁים אָמְרוּ אִישׁ אֶל־אָחִיו הַרְאִיתֶם כִּי יְדֵיכֶם לֹא תַעֲשֶׂינָה תּוּשִׁיָּה וְאַחֲרָיו כָּל־אָדָם יִמְשֹׁךְ׃ יט John Jn 12:19 Die Pharisäer aber sprachen untereinander: Ihr sehet, daß ihr nichts ausrichtet; siehe, alle Welt läuft ihm nach!(dhs) Jn 12:19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, "You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!"(nkjv) ======= John 12:20 ============ Jn 12:20 Now there were some Greeks among those who were going up to worship at the feast;(nas) Jn 12:20 ἦσαν δὲ ἕλληνές τινες ἐκ τῶν ἀναβαινόντων ἵνα προσκυνήσωσιν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ· (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:20 Erant autem quidam gentiles, ex his qui ascenderant ut adorarent in die festo.(vulgate) וּבְתוֹךְ עוֹלֵי הָרֶגֶל לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹת נִמְצְאוּ גַּם־יְוָנִים׃ כ John Jn 12:20 Es waren aber etliche Griechen unter denen, die hinaufgekommen waren, daß sie anbeten auf dem Fest.(dhs) Jn 12:20 Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.(nkjv) ======= John 12:21 ============ Jn 12:21 these then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and began to ask him, saying, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus."(nas) Jn 12:21 οὖτοι οὗν προσῆλθον φιλίππῳ τῶ ἀπὸ βηθσαϊδὰ τῆς γαλιλαίας, καὶ ἠρώτων αὐτὸν λέγοντες, κύριε, θέλομεν τὸν ἰησοῦν ἰδεῖν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:21 Hi ergo accesserunt ad Philippum, qui erat a Bethsaida Galilææ, et rogabant eum, dicentes: Domine, volumus Jesum videre.(vulgate) וְהֵם בָּאוּ אֶל־פִּילִפּוֹס אִישׁ בֵּית־צַיְדָה מִן־הַגָּלִיל וַיְחַלּוּ אֶת־פָּנָיו לֵאמֹר אֲדֹנֵינוּ חֲפֵצִים אֲנַחְנוּ לִרְאוֹת אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ׃ כא John Jn 12:21 Die traten zu Philippus, der von Bethsaida aus Galiläa war, baten ihn und sprachen: Herr, wir wollten Jesum gerne sehen.(dhs) Jn 12:21 Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus."(nkjv) ======= John 12:22 ============ Jn 12:22 Philip came and told Andrew; Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus.(nas) Jn 12:22 ἔρχεται ὁ φίλιππος καὶ λέγει τῶ ἀνδρέᾳ· ἔρχεται ἀνδρέας καὶ φίλιππος καὶ λέγουσιν τῶ ἰησοῦ. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes.(nas) Jn 12:35 εἶπεν οὗν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, ἔτι μικρὸν χρόνον τὸ φῶς ἐν ὑμῖν ἐστιν. περιπατεῖτε ὡς τὸ φῶς ἔχετε, ἵνα μὴ σκοτία ὑμᾶς καταλάβῃ· καὶ ὁ περιπατῶν ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ οὐκ οἶδεν ποῦ ὑπάγει. Wer in der Finsternis wandelt, der weiß nicht, wo er hingeht.(dhs) Jn 12:35 Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.(nkjv) ======= John 12:36 ============ Jn 12:36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light." These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them.(nas) Jn 12:36 ὡς τὸ φῶς ἔχετε, πιστεύετε εἰς τὸ φῶς, ἵνα υἱοὶ φωτὸς γένησθε. ταῦτα ἐλάλησεν ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἐκρύβη ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν. These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.(nkjv) ======= John 12:37 ============ Jn 12:37 But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him.(nas) Jn 12:37 τοσαῦτα δὲ αὐτοῦ σημεῖα πεποιηκότος ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν οὐκ ἐπίστευον εἰς αὐτόν, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:37 Cum autem tanta signa fecisset coram eis, non credebant in eum;(vulgate) וְהֵם לֹא הֶאֱמִינוּ לוֹ אַף כִּי־עָשָׂה אֹתוֹת רַבִּים לִפְנֵיהֶם׃ לז John Jn 12:37 Solches redete Jesus und ging weg und verbarg sich vor ihnen. Und ob er wohl solche Zeichen vor ihnen getan hatte, glaubten sie doch nicht an ihn,(dhs) Jn 12:37 But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him,(nkjv) ======= John 12:38 ============ Jn 12:38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke. "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE LORD BEEN REVEALED?"(nas) Jn 12:38 ἵνα ὁ λόγος ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου πληρωθῇ ὃν εἶπεν, κύριε, τίς ἐπίστευσεν τῇ ἀκοῇ ἡμῶν; καὶ ὁ βραχίων κυρίου τίνι ἀπεκαλύφθη; (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:38 ut sermo Isaiæ prophetæ impleretur, quem dixit: [Domine, quis credidit auditui nostro? et brachium Domini cui revelatum est?](vulgate) לְמַלֹּאת דְּבַר יְשַׁעְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא אֲשֶׁר אָמָר יְהוָֹה מִי הֶאֱמִין לִשְׁמֻעָתֵנוּ וּזְרוֹעַ יְהוָֹה עַל־מִי נִגְלָתָה׃ לח John Jn 12:38 auf daß erfüllet werde der Spruch des Propheten Jesaja, den er sagte: "HERR, wer glaubt unserm Predigen? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"(nkjv) ======= John 12:39 ============ Jn 12:39 For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again,(nas) Jn 12:39 διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἠδύναντο πιστεύειν, ὅτι πάλιν εἶπεν ἠσαΐας, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 12:39 Propterea non poterant credere, quia iterum dixit Isaias:(vulgate) וְעַל־כֵּן לְהַאֲמִין לֹא יָכֹלוּ כִּי יְשַׁעְיָהוּ הוֹסִיף לֵאמֹר׃ לט John Jn 12:39 Darum konnten sie nicht glauben, denn Jesaja sagte abermals:(dhs) Jn 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:(nkjv) ======= John 12:40 ============ Jn 12:40 "HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM."(nas) Jn 12:40 τετύφλωκεν αὐτῶν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς καὶ ἐπώρωσεν αὐτῶν τὴν καρδίαν, ἵνα μὴ ἴδωσιν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς καὶ νοήσωσιν τῇ καρδίᾳ καὶ στραφῶσιν, καὶ ἰάσομαι αὐτούς.
