Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,(nkjv) ======= John 17:2 ============ Jn 17:2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.(nas) Jn 17:2 καθὼς ἔδωκας αὐτῶ ἐξουσίαν πάσης σαρκός, ἵνα πᾶν ὃ δέδωκας αὐτῶ δώσῃ αὐτοῖς ζωὴν αἰώνιον. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:2 sicut dedisti ei potestatem omnis carnis, ut omne, quod dedisti ei, det eis vitam æternam.(vulgate) כַּאֲשֶׁר אַתָּה תַמְשִׁילֵהוּ בְּכָל־בָשָׂר לָתֵת חַיֵּי עוֹלָם לְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּה לּוֹ׃ ב John Jn 17:2 Gleichwie du ihm Macht hast gegeben über alles Fleisch, auf daß er das ewige Leben gebe allen, die du ihm gegeben hast.(dhs) Jn 17:2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.(nkjv) ======= John 17:3 ============ Jn 17:3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.(nas) Jn 17:3 αὕτη δέ ἐστιν ἡ αἰώνιος ζωή, ἵνα γινώσκωσιν σὲ τὸν μόνον ἀληθινὸν θεὸν καὶ ὃν ἀπέστειλας ἰησοῦν χριστόν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:3 Hæc est autem vita æterna: ut cognoscant te, solum Deum verum, et quem misisti Jesum Christum.(vulgate) וּמַה חַיֵּי עוֹלָם אֲשֶׁר יֵדְעוּ אֹתְךָ כִּי אַתָּה לְבַדְּךָ אֶל־אֱמֶת וְאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ אֲשֶׁר שָׁלָחְתָּ׃ ג John Jn 17:3 Das ist aber das ewige Leben, daß sie dich, der du allein wahrer Gott bist, und den du gesandt hast, Jesum Christum, erkennen.(dhs) Jn 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.(nkjv) ======= John 17:4 ============ Jn 17:4 I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.(nas) Jn 17:4 ἐγώ σε ἐδόξασα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, τὸ ἔργον τελειώσας ὃ δέδωκάς μοι ἵνα ποιήσω· (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:4 Ego te clarificavi super terram: opus consummavi, quod dedisti mihi ut faciam:(vulgate) אֶת־כְּבוֹדְךָ גִּדַּלְתִּי בָאָרֶץ כִּלִּיתִי אֶת־הַמְּלָאכָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַתָּה לִּי לַעֲשׂתָהּ׃ ד John Jn 17:4 Ich habe dich verklärt auf Erden und vollendet das Werk, das du mir gegeben hast, daß ich es tun sollte.(dhs) Jn 17:4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.(nkjv) ======= John 17:5 ============ Jn 17:5 Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.(nas) Jn 17:5 καὶ νῦν δόξασόν με σύ, πάτερ, παρὰ σεαυτῶ τῇ δόξῃ ᾗ εἶχον πρὸ τοῦ τὸν κόσμον εἶναι παρὰ σοί. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:5 et nunc clarifica me tu, Pater, apud temetipsum, claritate quam habui, priusquam mundus esset, apud te.~(vulgate) וְעַתָּה כַּבְּדֵנִי־נָא עִמְּךָ אָבִי בַּכָּבוֹד אֲשֶׁר הָיָה־לִי עִמְּךָ טֶרֶם נַעֲשׂוּ שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ׃ ה John Jn 17:5 Und nun verkläre mich du, Vater, bei dir selbst mit der Klarheit, die ich bei dir hatte, ehe die Welt war.(dhs) Jn 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.(nkjv) ======= John 17:6 ============ Jn 17:6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.(nas) Jn 17:6 ἐφανέρωσά σου τὸ ὄνομα τοῖς ἀνθρώποις οὓς ἔδωκάς μοι ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου. σοὶ ἦσαν κἀμοὶ αὐτοὺς ἔδωκας, καὶ τὸν λόγον σου τετήρηκαν. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:6 Manifestavi nomen tuum hominibus, quos dedisti mihi de mundo: tui erant, et mihi eos dedisti: et sermonem tuum servaverunt.(vulgate) הוֹדַעְתִּי אֶת־שִׁמְךָ לַאֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר אֹתָם נָתַתָּה־לִּי מִן־הָעוֹלָם לְךָ הָיוּ וְאַתָּה נְתַתָּם לִי וְהֵם אִמְרָתְךָ יִנְצֹרוּ׃ ו John Jn 17:6 Ich habe deinen Namen offenbart den Menschen, die du mir von der Welt gegeben hast. Sie waren dein, und du hast sie mir gegeben, und sie haben dein Wort behalten.(dhs) Jn 17:6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.(nkjv) ======= John 17:7 ============ Jn 17:7 Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You;(nas) Jn 17:7 νῦν ἔγνωκαν ὅτι πάντα ὅσα δέδωκάς μοι παρὰ σοῦ εἰσιν· (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:7 Nunc cognoverunt quia omnia quæ dedisti mihi, abs te sunt:(vulgate) יֹדְעִים הֵם כַּיּוֹם כִּי־כֻלָּם אֲשֶׁר נָתַתָּה לִּי מֵאִתְּךָ הֵמָּה׃ ז John Jn 17:7 Nun wissen sie, daß alles, was du mir gegeben hast, sei von dir.(dhs) Jn 17:7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You.(nkjv) ======= John 17:8 ============ Jn 17:8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me.(nas) Jn 17:8 ὅτι τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἔδωκάς μοι δέδωκα αὐτοῖς, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔλαβον καὶ ἔγνωσαν ἀληθῶς ὅτι παρὰ σοῦ ἐξῆλθον, καὶ ἐπίστευσαν ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:8 quia verba quæ dedisti mihi, dedi eis: et ipsi acceperunt, et cognoverunt vere quia a te exivi, et crediderunt quia tu me misisti.(vulgate) כִּי שַׂמְתִּי לִפְנֵיהֶם אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר שַׂמְתָּ בְּפִי וְהֵם שָׁמְעוּ וַיַּכִּירוּ בֶאֱמֶת כִּי מֵאִתְּךָ יָצָאתִי וַיַּאֲמִינוּ כִּי אַתָּה שְׁלַחְתָּנִי׃ ח John Jn 17:8 Denn die Worte, die du mir gegeben hast, habe ich ihnen gegeben; und sie haben's angenommen und erkannt wahrhaftig, daß sie glauben, daß du mich gesandt hast.(dhs) Jn 17:8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.(nkjv) ======= John 17:9 ============ Jn 17:9 I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;(nas) Jn 17:9 ἐγὼ περὶ αὐτῶν ἐρωτῶ· οὐ περὶ τοῦ κόσμου ἐρωτῶ ἀλλὰ περὶ ὧν δέδωκάς μοι, ὅτι σοί εἰσιν, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:9 Ego pro eis rogo; non pro mundo rogo, sed pro his quos dedisti mihi: quia tui sunt:(vulgate) וַאֲנִי בַּעֲדָם מַפְגִּיעַ לֹא בְעַד הָעוֹלָם אֶפְגַּע בְּךָ כִּי אִם־בְּעַד אֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר נָתַתָּה לִּי כִּי־לְךָ הֵמָּה׃ ט John Jn 17:9 Ich bitte für sie und bitte nicht für die Welt, sondern für die, die du mir gegeben hast; denn sie sind dein.(dhs) Jn 17:9 I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.(nkjv) ======= John 17:10 ============ Jn 17:10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.(nas) Jn 17:10 καὶ τὰ ἐμὰ πάντα σά ἐστιν καὶ τὰ σὰ ἐμά, καὶ δεδόξασμαι ἐν αὐτοῖς. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:10 et mea omnia tua sunt, et tua mea sunt: et clarificatus sum in eis.(vulgate) וְכָל־שֶׁלִּי שֶׁלָּךְ וְשֶׁלָּךְ שֶׁלִּי אֲשֶׁר בָּם אֶתְפָּאָר׃ י John Jn 17:10 Und alles, was mein ist, das ist dein, und was dein ist, das ist mein; und ich bin in ihnen verklärt.(dhs) Jn 17:10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them.(nkjv) ======= John 17:11 ============ Jn 17:11 I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.(nas) Jn 17:11 καὶ οὐκέτι εἰμὶ ἐν τῶ κόσμῳ, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐν τῶ κόσμῳ εἰσίν, κἀγὼ πρὸς σὲ ἔρχομαι. πάτερ ἅγιε, τήρησον αὐτοὺς ἐν τῶ ὀνόματί σου ᾧ δέδωκάς μοι, ἵνα ὦσιν ἓν καθὼς ἡμεῖς. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:11 Et jam non sum in mundo, et hi in mundo sunt, et ego ad te venio. Pater sancte, serva eos in nomine tuo, quos dedisti mihi: ut sint unum, sicut et nos.(vulgate) לֹא אֲגוּר עוֹד בָּאָרֶץ וְהֵם גָּרִים בָּאָרֶץ וַאֲנִי בָא אֵלֶיךָ אָבִי קְדֹשִׁי שְׁמֹר בְּשִׁמְךָ אֶת־אֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר נָתַתָּה לִּי לְמַעַן יִהְיוּ אֶחָד כָּמֹנוּ׃ יא John Jn 17:11 Und ich bin nicht mehr in der Welt; sie aber sind in der Welt, und ich komme zu dir. Heiliger Vater, erhalte sie in deinem Namen, die du mir gegeben hast, daß sie eins seien gleichwie wir.(dhs) Jn 17:11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.(nkjv) ======= John 17:12 ============ Jn 17:12 While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.(nas) Jn 17:12 ὅτε ἤμην μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐγὼ ἐτήρουν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῶ ὀνόματί σου ᾧ δέδωκάς μοι, καὶ ἐφύλαξα, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀπώλετο εἰ μὴ ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας, ἵνα ἡ γραφὴ πληρωθῇ. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:12 Cum essem cum eis, ego servabam eos in nomine tuo. Quos dedisti mihi, custodivi: et nemo ex eis periit, nisi filius perditionis, ut Scriptura impleatur.(vulgate) בִּהְיוֹתִי עִמָּהֶם בָּעוֹלָם שָׁמַרְתִּי אֹתָם בִּשְׁמֶךָ כֹּל אֲשֶׁר נָתַתָּה לִּי שָׁמַרְתִּי וְלֹא־אָבַד אֶחָד מֵהֶם זוּלָתִי בֶּן־הָאֲבַדּוֹן לְמַלֹּאת דְּבַר־הַכָּתוּב׃ יב John Jn 17:12 Dieweil ich bei ihnen war in der Welt, erhielt ich sie in deinem Namen. Die du mir gegeben hast, die habe ich bewahrt, und ist keiner von ihnen verloren, als das verlorene Kind, daß die Schrift erfüllet würde.(dhs) Jn 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.(nkjv) ======= John 17:13 ============ Jn 17:13 But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.(nas) Jn 17:13 νῦν δὲ πρὸς σὲ ἔρχομαι, καὶ ταῦτα λαλῶ ἐν τῶ κόσμῳ ἵνα ἔχωσιν τὴν χαρὰν τὴν ἐμὴν πεπληρωμένην ἐν ἑαυτοῖς. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:13 Nunc autem ad te venio: et hæc loquor in mundo, ut habeant gaudium meum impletum in semetipsis.(vulgate) וְעַתָּה הִנְנִי בָא אֵלֶיךָ וְהַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה דִּבַּרְתִּי בָאָרֶץ לְמַלֹּאת נַפְשָׁם שִׂמְחָתִי׃ יג John Jn 17:13 Nun aber komme ich zu dir und rede solches in der Welt, auf daß sie in ihnen haben meine Freude vollkommen.(dhs) Jn 17:13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.(nkjv) ======= John 17:14 ============ Jn 17:14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.(nas) Jn 17:14 ἐγὼ δέδωκα αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον σου, καὶ ὁ κόσμος ἐμίσησεν αὐτούς, ὅτι οὐκ εἰσὶν ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου καθὼς ἐγὼ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:14 Ego dedi eis sermonem tuum, et mundus eos odio habuit, quia non sunt de mundo, sicut et ego non sum de mundo.(vulgate) אֲנִי נָתַתִּי לָהֶם דְּבָרְךָ וְהָעוֹלָם שׂנֵא אֹתָם יַעַן כִּי לֹא מִן־הָעוֹלָם הֵם כַּאֲשֶׁר גַּם־אֲנִי לֹא מִן־הָעוֹלָם אָנִי׃ יד John Jn 17:14 Ich habe ihnen gegeben dein Wort, und die Welt haßte sie; denn sie sind nicht von der Welt, wie ich denn auch nicht von der Welt bin.(dhs) Jn 17:14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.(nkjv) ======= John 17:15 ============ Jn 17:15 I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.(nas) Jn 17:15 οὐκ ἐρωτῶ ἵνα ἄρῃς αὐτοὺς ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου ἀλλ᾽ ἵνα τηρήσῃς αὐτοὺς ἐκ τοῦ πονηροῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:15 Non rogo ut tollas eos de mundo, sed ut serves eos a malo.(vulgate) וַאֲנִי אֵינֶנִּי מַפְגִּיעַ בַּעֲדָם כִּי תִקָּחֵם מִן־הָעוֹלָם רַק כִּי אִם־תַּצִּילֵם מִן־הָרָע׃ טו John Jn 17:15 Ich bitte nicht, daß du sie von der Welt nehmest, sondern daß du sie bewahrst vor dem Übel.(dhs) Jn 17:15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.(nkjv) ======= John 17:16 ============ Jn 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.(nas) Jn 17:16 ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου οὐκ εἰσὶν καθὼς ἐγὼ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου. Sermo tuus veritas est.(vulgate) קַדֵּשׁ אֹתָם בַּאֲמִתֶּךָ דְּבָרְךָ אֱמֶת׃ יז John Jn 17:17 Heilige sie in deiner Wahrheit; dein Wort ist die Wahrheit.(dhs) Jn 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.(nkjv) ======= John 17:18 ============ Jn 17:18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.(nas) Jn 17:18 καθὼς ἐμὲ ἀπέστειλας εἰς τὸν κόσμον, κἀγὼ ἀπέστειλα αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν κόσμον· (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:18 Sicut tu me misisti in mundum, et ego misi eos in mundum:(vulgate) כַּאֲשֶׁר אַתָּה שְׁלַחְתַּנִי בָעוֹלָם כֵּן אֲנִי שְׁלַחְתִּים בָּעוֹלָם׃ יח John Jn 17:18 Gleichwie du mich gesandt hast in die Welt, so sende ich sie auch in die Welt.(dhs) Jn 17:18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.(nkjv) ======= John 17:19 ============ Jn 17:19 For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.(nas) Jn 17:19 καὶ ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν [ἐγὼ] ἁγιάζω ἐμαυτόν, ἵνα ὦσιν καὶ αὐτοὶ ἡγιασμένοι ἐν ἀληθείᾳ. (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:19 et pro eis ego sanctificabo meipsum: ut sint et ipsi sanctificati in veritate.~(vulgate) וּבַעֲדָם הִקְדַּשְׁתִּי אֶת־נַפְשִׁי וְכֵן גַּם־הֵם אֶת־נַפְשָׁם בֶּאֱמֶת יַקְדִּישׁוּ׃ יט John Jn 17:19 Ich heilige mich selbst für sie, auf daß auch sie geheiligt seien in der Wahrheit.(dhs) Jn 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.(nkjv) ======= John 17:20 ============ Jn 17:20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;(nas) Jn 17:20 οὐ περὶ τούτων δὲ ἐρωτῶ μόνον, ἀλλὰ καὶ περὶ τῶν πιστευόντων διὰ τοῦ λόγου αὐτῶν εἰς ἐμέ, (Nestle-Aland) Jn 17:20 Non pro eis rogo tantum, sed et pro eis qui credituri sunt per verbum eorum in me:(vulgate) אוּלָם לֹא בְּעַד־אֵלֶּה לְבַדָּם אֲנִי מַעְתִּיר לָךְ כִּי אִם־גַּם־בְּעַד אֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר יַאֲמִינוּ בִי עַל־פִּי דְבָרָם׃ כ John Jn 17:20 Ich bitte aber nicht allein für sie, sondern auch für die, so durch ihr Wort an mich glauben werden,(dhs) Jn 17:20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;(nkjv) ======= John 17:21 ============ Jn 17:21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.(nas) Jn 17:21 ἵνα πάντες ἓν ὦσιν, καθὼς σύ, πάτερ, ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν σοί, ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐν ἡμῖν ὦσιν, ἵνα ὁ κόσμος πιστεύῃ ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας.
