Today's Date: ======= Judges 20:1 ============ Jdg 20:1 Then all the sons of Israel from Dan to Beersheba, including the land of Gilead, came out, and the congregation assembled as one man to the Lord at Mizpah.(nas) Jdg 20:1 καὶ ἐξῆλθον πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐξεκκλησιάσθη ἡ συναγωγὴ ὡς ἀνὴρ εἷς ἀπὸ Δαν καὶ ἕως Βηρσαβεε καὶ γῆ τοῦ Γαλααδ πρὸς κύριον εἰς Μασσηφα (lxx) Jdg 20:1 Egressi itaque sunt omnes filii Israël, et pariter congregati, quasi vir unus, de Dan usque Bersabee, et terra Galaad, ad Dominum in Maspha.(vulgate) Judges 20:1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the Congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, vnto the Lord in Mizpeh.(Geneva) Jdg 20:1 Da zogen die Kinder Israel aus und versammelten sich zuhauf wie ein Mann, von Dan bis gen Beer-Seba und vom Lande Gilead zu dem HERRN gen Mizpa;(dhs) Jdg 20:1 So all the children of Israel came out, from Dan to Beersheba, as well as from the land of Gilead, and the congregation gathered together as one man before the Lord at Mizpah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:2 ============ Jdg 20:2 The chiefs of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, took their stand in the assembly of the people of God, 400,000 foot soldiers who drew the sword.(nas) Jdg 20:2 καὶ ἐστάθησαν κατὰ πρόσωπον κυρίου πᾶσαι αἱ φυλαὶ τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ τετρακόσιαι χιλιάδες ἀνδρῶν πεζῶν ἕλκοντες ῥομφαίαν (lxx) Jdg 20:2 Omnesque anguli populorum, et cunctæ tribus Israël in ecclesiam populi Dei convenerunt, quadringenta millia peditum pugnatorum.(vulgate) Judges 20:2 And the chiefe of all the people, and all the tribes of Israel assembled in the Congregation of the people of God foure hundreth thousand footemen that drewe sword.(Geneva) Jdg 20:2 und traten zuhauf die Obersten des ganzen Volks aller Stämme Israels in der Gemeinde Gottes, vierhundertausend Mann zu Fuß, die das Schwert auszogen.(dhs) Jdg 20:2 And the leaders of all the people, all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand foot soldiers who drew the sword.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:3 ============ Jdg 20:3 (Now the sons of Benjamin heard that the sons of Israel had gone up to Mizpah.) And the sons of Israel said, "Tell us, how did this wickedness take place?"(nas) Jdg 20:3 καὶ ἤκουσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ὅτι ἀνέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ εἰς Μασσηφα καὶ ἐλθόντες εἶπαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λαλήσατε ποῦ ἐγένετο ἡ πονηρία αὕτη (lxx) Jdg 20:3 (Nec latuit filios Benjamin quod ascendissent filii Israël in Maspha.) Interrogatusque Levita, maritus mulieris interfectæ, quomodo tantum scelus perpetratum esset,(vulgate) Judges 20:3 (Now the children of Beniamin heard that the children of Israel were gone vp to Mizpeh) Then the children of Israel saide, Howe is this wickednesse committed?(Geneva) Jdg 20:3 Aber die Kinder Benjamin hörten, daß die Kinder Israel hinauf gen Mizpa gezogen waren. Und die Kinder Israel sprachen: Sagt, wie ist das Übel zugegangen?(dhs) Jdg 20:3 (Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpah.) Then the children of Israel said, "Tell us, how did this wicked deed happen?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:4 ============ Jdg 20:4 So the Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said, "I came with my concubine to spend the night at Gibeah which belongs to Benjamin.(nas) Jdg 20:4 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ Λευίτης ὁ ἀνὴρ τῆς γυναικὸς τῆς φονευθείσης καὶ εἶπεν εἰς Γαβαα τῆς Βενιαμιν ἦλθον ἐγὼ καὶ ἡ παλλακή μου τοῦ αὐλισθῆναι (lxx) Jdg 20:4 respondit: Veni in Gabaa Benjamin cum uxore mea, illucque diverti:(vulgate) Judges 20:4 And the same Leuite, the womans husband that was slaine, answered and saide, I came vnto Gibeah that is in Beniamin with my concubine to lodge,(Geneva) Jdg 20:4 Da antwortete der Levit, des Weibes Mann, die erwürgt war, und sprach: Ich kam gen Gibea in Benjamin mit meinem Kebsweibe, über Nacht dazubleiben.(dhs) Jdg 20:4 So the Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said, "My concubine and I went into Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin, to spend the night.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:5 ============ Jdg 20:5 But the men of Gibeah rose up against me and surrounded the house at night because of me. They intended to kill me; instead, they ravished my concubine so that she died.(nas) Jdg 20:5 καὶ ἀνέστησαν ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ οἱ ἄνδρες τῆς Γαβαα καὶ ἐκύκλωσαν ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ ἐπὶ τὴν οἰκίαν νυκτός ἐμὲ ἠθέλησαν φονεῦσαι καὶ τὴν παλλακήν μου ἐταπείνωσαν καὶ ἀπέθανεν (lxx) Jdg 20:5 et ecce homines civitatis illius circumdederunt nocte domum in qua manebam, volentes me occidere, et uxorem meam incredibili furore libidinis vexantes, denique mortua est.(vulgate) Judges 20:5 And the men of Gibeah arose against me, and beset the house round about vpon mee by night, thinking to haue slaine me, and haue forced my concubine that she is dead.(Geneva) Jdg 20:5 Da machten sich wider mich auf die Bürger zu Gibea und umgaben mich im Hause des Nachts und gedachten, mich zu erwürgen; und haben mein Kebsweib geschändet, daß sie gestorben ist.(dhs) Jdg 20:5 And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house at night because of me. They intended to kill me, but instead they ravished my concubine so that she died.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:6 ============ Jdg 20:6 And I took hold of my concubine and cut her in pieces and sent her throughout the land of Israel's inheritance; for they have committed a lewd and disgraceful act in Israel.(nas) Jdg 20:6 καὶ ἐκράτησα τὴν παλλακήν μου καὶ ἐμέλισα αὐτὴν καὶ ἀπέστειλα ἐν παντὶ ὁρίῳ κληρονομίας υἱῶν Ισραηλ ὅτι ἐποίησαν ζεμα καὶ ἀπόπτωμα ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 20:6 Quam arreptam, in frustra concidi, misique partes in omnes terminos possessionis vestræ: quia numquam tantum nefas, et tam grande piaculum, factum est in Israël.(vulgate) Judges 20:6 Then I tooke my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the countrey of the inheritance of Israel: for they haue committed abomination and villenie in Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 20:6 Da faßte ich mein Kebsweib und zerstückte es und sandte es in alle Felder des Erbes Israels; denn sie haben einen Mutwillen und eine Torheit getan in Israel.(dhs) Jdg 20:6 So I took hold of my concubine, cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the territory of the inheritance of Israel, because they committed lewdness and outrage in Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:7 ============ Jdg 20:7 Behold, all you sons of Israel, give your advice and counsel here."(nas) Jdg 20:7 ἰδοὺ πάντες ὑμεῖς υἱοὶ Ισραηλ δότε ἑαυτοῖς λόγον καὶ βουλὴν ἐκεῖ (lxx) Jdg 20:7 Adestis, omnes filii Israël: decernite quid facere debeatis.(vulgate) Judges 20:7 Behold, ye are al children of Israel: giue your aduise, and counsell herein.(Geneva) Jdg 20:7 Siehe, da seid ihr Kinder Israel alle; schafft euch Rat und tut hierzu!(dhs) Jdg 20:7 Look! All of you are children of Israel; give your advice and counsel here and now!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:8 ============ Jdg 20:8 Then all the people arose as one man, saying, "Not one of us will go to his tent, nor will any of us return to his house.(nas) Jdg 20:8 καὶ ἀνέστη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὡς ἀνὴρ εἷς λέγοντες οὐκ ἀπελευσόμεθα ἀνὴρ εἰς σκήνωμα αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐπιστρέψομεν ἀνὴρ εἰς οἶκον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 20:8 Stansque omnis populus, quasi unius hominis sermone respondit: Non recedemus in tabernacula nostra, nec suam quisquam intrabit domum:(vulgate) Judges 20:8 Then all the people arose as one man, saying, There shal not a man of vs goe to his tent, neither any turne into his house.(Geneva) Jdg 20:8 Da machte sich alles Volk auf wie ein Mann und sprach: Es soll niemand in seine Hütte gehen noch in sein Haus kehren;(dhs) Jdg 20:8 So all the people arose as one man, saying, "None of us will go to his tent, nor will any turn back to his house;(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:9 ============ Jdg 20:9 But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up against it by lot.(nas) Jdg 20:9 καὶ νῦν τοῦτο τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ποιηθήσεται τῇ Γαβαα ἀναβησόμεθα ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν ἐν κλήρῳ (lxx) Jdg 20:9 sed hoc contra Gabaa in commune faciamus.(vulgate) Judges 20:9 But now this is that thing which we will do to Gibeah: we wil goe vp by lot against it,(Geneva) Jdg 20:9 sondern das wollen wir jetzt tun wider Gibea:(dhs) Jdg 20:9 but now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: We will go up against it by lot.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:10 ============ Jdg 20:10 And we will take 10 men out of 100 throughout the tribes of Israel, and 100 out of 1,000, and 1,000 out of 10,000 to supply food for the people, that when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, they may punish them for all the disgraceful acts that they have committed in Israel."(nas) Jdg 20:10 πλὴν λημψόμεθα δέκα ἄνδρας τοῖς ἑκατὸν εἰς πάσας φυλὰς Ισραηλ καὶ ἑκατὸν τοῖς χιλίοις καὶ χιλίους τοῖς μυρίοις λαβεῖν ἐπισιτισμὸν τοῦ ποιῆσαι ἐλθεῖν αὐτοὺς εἰς Γαβαα Βενιαμιν ποιῆσαι αὐτῇ κατὰ πᾶν τὸ ἀπόπτωμα ὃ ἐποίησεν ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 20:10 Decem viri eligantur e centum ex omnibus tribubus Israël, et centum de mille, et mille de decem millibus, ut comportent exercitui cibaria, et possimus pugnare contra Gabaa Benjamin, et reddere ei pro scelere, quod meretur.(vulgate) Judges 20:10 And we wil take ten men of the hundreth throughout al the tribes of Israel, & an hundreth of the thousand, and a thousand of ten thousand to bring vitaile for the people that they may do (when they come to Gibeah of Beniamin) according to all the villeny, that it hath done in Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 20:10 laßt uns losen und nehmen zehn Mann von hundert, und hundert von tausend, und tausend von zehntausend aus allen Stämmen Israels, daß sie Speise nehmen für das Volk, daß es komme und tue mit Gibea-Benjamin nach all seiner Torheit, die es in Israel getan hat.(dhs) Jdg 20:10 We will take ten men out of every hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, a hundred out of every thousand, and a thousand out of every ten thousand, to make provisions for the people, that when they come to Gibeah in Benjamin, they may repay all the vileness that they have done in Israel."(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:11 ============ Jdg 20:11 Thus all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, united as one man.(nas) Jdg 20:11 καὶ συνήχθη πᾶς ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ εἰς τὴν πόλιν ὡς ἀνὴρ εἷς (lxx) Jdg 20:11 Convenitque universus Israël ad civitatem, quasi homo unus eadem mente, unoque consilio.~(vulgate) Judges 20:11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against the citie, knit together, as one man.(Geneva) Jdg 20:11 Also versammelten sich zu der Stadt alle Männer Israels, wie ein Mann verbunden.(dhs) Jdg 20:11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, united together as one man.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:12 ============ Jdg 20:12 Then the tribes of Israel sent men through the entire tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What is this wickedness that has taken place among you?(nas) Jdg 20:12 καὶ ἀπέστειλαν αἱ φυλαὶ Ισραηλ ἄνδρας ἐν πάσῃ φυλῇ Βενιαμιν λέγοντες τίς ἡ πονηρία αὕτη ἡ γενομένη ἐν ὑμῖν (lxx) Jdg 20:12 Et miserunt nuntios ad omnem tribum Benjamin, qui dicerent: Cur tantum nefas in vobis repertum est?(vulgate) Judges 20:12 And the tribes of Israel sent men through al the tribe of Beniamin, saying, What wickednesse is this that is committed among you?(Geneva) Jdg 20:12 Und die Stämme Israels sandten Männer zu allen Geschlechtern Benjamins und ließen ihnen sagen: Was ist das für eine Bosheit, die bei euch geschehen ist?(dhs) Jdg 20:12 Then the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What is this wickedness that has occurred among you?(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:13 ============ Jdg 20:13 Now then, deliver up the men, the worthless fellows in Gibeah, that we may put them to death and remove this wickedness from Israel." But the sons of Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brothers, the sons of Israel.(nas) Jdg 20:13 καὶ νῦν δότε τοὺς ἄνδρας υἱοὺς παρανόμων τοὺς ἐν Γαβαα καὶ θανατώσομεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐκκαθαριοῦμεν πονηρίαν ἀπὸ Ισραηλ καὶ οὐκ εὐδόκησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἀκοῦσαι τῆς φωνῆς τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 20:13 Tradite homines de Gabaa, qui hoc flagitium perpetrarunt, ut moriantur, et auferatur malum de Israël. Qui noluerunt fratrum suorum filiorum Israël audire mandatum:(vulgate) Judges 20:13 Nowe therefore deliuer vs those wicked men which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away euill from Israel: but the children of Beniamin would not obey the voyce of their brethren the children of Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 20:13 So gebt nun her die Männer, die bösen Buben zu Gibea, daß wir sie töten und das Übel aus Israel tun! But the children of Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brethren, the children of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:14 ============ Jdg 20:14 The sons of Benjamin gathered from the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the sons of Israel.(nas) Jdg 20:14 καὶ συνήχθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἀπὸ τῶν πόλεων αὐτῶν εἰς Γαβαα ἐξελθεῖν εἰς παράταξιν πρὸς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 20:14 sed ex cunctis urbibus, quæ sortis suæ erant, convenerunt in Gabaa, ut illis ferrent auxilium, et contra universum populum Israël dimicarent.(vulgate) Judges 20:14 But ye children of Beniamin gathered them selues together out of the cities vnto Gibeah, to come out and fight against the children of Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 20:14 sondern versammelten sich aus den Städten gen Gibea, auszuziehen in den Streit wider die Kinder Israel.(dhs) Jdg 20:14 Instead, the children of Benjamin gathered together from their cities to Gibeah, to go to battle against the children of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:15 ============ Jdg 20:15 From the cities on that day the sons of Benjamin were numbered, 26,000 men who draw the sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah who were numbered, 700 choice men.(nas) Jdg 20:15 καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀπὸ τῶν πόλεων εἴκοσι τρεῖς χιλιάδες ἀνὴρ ἕλκων ῥομφαίαν ἐκτὸς τῶν οἰκούντων τὴν Γαβαα οἳ ἐπεσκέπησαν ἑπτακόσιοι ἄνδρες ἐκλεκτοὶ (lxx) Jdg 20:15 Inventique sunt viginti quinque millia de Benjamin educentium gladium, præter habitatores Gabaa,(vulgate) Judges 20:15 And ye children of Beniamin were nombred at that time out of the cities sixe and twenty thousand men that drewe sworde, beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were nombred seuen hundreth chosen men.(Geneva) Jdg 20:15 Und wurden des Tages gezählt der Kinder Benjamin aus den Städten sechsundzwanzigtausend Mann, die das Schwert auszogen, ohne die Bürger zu Gibea, deren wurden siebenhundert gezählt, auserlesene Männer.(dhs) Jdg 20:15 And from their cities at that time the children of Benjamin numbered twenty-six thousand men who drew the sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who numbered seven hundred select men.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:16 ============ Jdg 20:16 Out of all these people 700 choice men were left-handed; each one could sling a stone at a hair and not miss.(nas) Jdg 20:16 ἐκ παντὸς λαοῦ ἀμφοτεροδέξιοι πάντες οὗτοι σφενδονῆται ἐν λίθοις πρὸς τρίχα καὶ οὐκ ἐξαμαρτάνοντες (lxx) Jdg 20:16 qui septingenti erant viri fortissimi, ita sinistra ut dextra præliantes: et sic fundis lapides ad certum jacientes, ut capillum quoque possent percutere, et nequaquam in alteram partem ictus lapidis deferretur.(vulgate) Judges 20:16 Of all this people were seuen hundreth chosen men, being left handed: all these could sling stones at an heare breadth, and not faile.(Geneva) Jdg 20:16 Und unter allem diesem Volk waren siebenhundert Mann auserlesen, die links waren und konnten mit der Schleuder ein Haar treffen, daß sie nicht fehlten.(dhs) Jdg 20:16 Among all this people were seven hundred select men who were left-handed; every one could sling a stone at a hair's breadth and not miss.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:17 ============ Jdg 20:17 Then the men of Israel besides Benjamin were numbered, 400,000 men who draw the sword; all these were men of war. (nas) Jdg 20:17 καὶ ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ ἐπεσκέπησαν ἐκτὸς τοῦ Βενιαμιν τετρακόσιαι χιλιάδες ἀνδρῶν ἑλκόντων ῥομφαίαν πάντες οὗτοι ἄνδρες παρατάξεως (lxx) Jdg 20:17 Virorum quoque Israël, absque filiis Benjamin, inventa sunt quadringenta millia educentium gladium, et paratorum ad pugnam.~(vulgate) Judges 20:17 Also the men of Israel, beside Beniamin, were nombred foure hundreth thousande men that drew sword, euen all men of warre.(Geneva) Jdg 20:17 Aber derer von Israel (ohne die von Benjamin) wurden gezählt vierhunderttausend Mann, die das Schwert führten, und alle streitbare Männer.(dhs) Jdg 20:17 Now besides Benjamin, the men of Israel numbered four hundred thousand men who drew the sword; all of these were men of war.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:18 ============ Jdg 20:18 Now the sons of Israel arose, went up to Bethel, and inquired of God and said, "Who shall go up first for us to battle against the sons of Benjamin?" Then the Lord said, "Judah shall go up first."(nas) Jdg 20:18 καὶ ἀνέστησαν καὶ ἀνέβησαν εἰς Βαιθηλ καὶ ἠρώτησαν ἐν τῷ θεῷ καὶ εἶπαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τίς ἀναβήσεται ἡμῖν ἐν ἀρχῇ εἰς παράταξιν πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν καὶ εἶπεν κύριος Ιουδας ἐν ἀρχῇ ἀναβήσεται ἀφηγούμενος (lxx) Jdg 20:18 Qui surgentes venerunt in domum Dei, hoc est, in Silo: consulueruntque Deum, atque dixerunt: Quis erit in exercitu nostro princeps certaminis contra filios Benjamin? Quibus respondit Dominus: Judas sit dux vester.(vulgate) Judges 20:18 And the children of Israel arose, and went vp to the house of God, and asked of God, saying, Which of vs shal goe vp first to fight against the children of Beniamin? And the Lord said, Iudah shalbe first.(Geneva) Jdg 20:18 Die machten sich auf und zogen hinauf gen Beth-el und fragten Gott und sprachen: Wer soll vor uns hinaufziehen, den Streit anzufangen mit den Kindern Benjamin? Der HERR sprach: Juda soll anfangen.(dhs) Jdg 20:18 Then the children of Israel arose and went up to the house of God to inquire of God. They said, "Which of us shall go up first to battle against the children of Benjamin?" And the Lord said, "Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver them into your hand."(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:29 ============ Jdg 20:29 So Israel set men in ambush around Gibeah.(nas) Jdg 20:29 καὶ ἔθηκαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἔνεδρα τῇ Γαβαα κύκλῳ (lxx) Jdg 20:29 Posueruntque filii Israël insidias per circuitum urbis Gabaa:(vulgate) Judges 20:29 And Israel set men to lie in waite round about Gibeah.(Geneva) Jdg 20:29 Und die Kinder Israel stellten einen Hinterhalt auf Gibea umher.(dhs) Jdg 20:29 Then Israel set men in ambush all around Gibeah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:30 ============ Jdg 20:30 The sons of Israel went up against the sons of Benjamin on the third day and arrayed themselves against Gibeah as at other times.(nas) Jdg 20:30 καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ συνῆψαν πρὸς τὴν Γαβαα ὡς ἅπαξ καὶ ἅπαξ (lxx) Jdg 20:30 et tertia vice, sicut semel et bis, contra Benjamin exercitum produxerunt.(vulgate) Judges 20:30 And the children of Israel went vp against the children of Beniamin the third day, and put theselues in aray against Gibeah, as at other times.(Geneva) Jdg 20:30 Und zogen also die Kinder Israel hinauf des dritten Tages gegen die Kinder Benjamin und stellten sich wider Gibea wie zuvor zweimal.(dhs) Jdg 20:30 And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in battle array against Gibeah as at the other times.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:31 ============ Jdg 20:31 The sons of Benjamin went out against the people and were drawn away from the city, and they began to strike and kill some of the people as at other times, on the highways, one of which goes up to Bethel and the other to Gibeah, and in the field, about thirty men of Israel.(nas) Jdg 20:31 καὶ ἐξῆλθον οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν εἰς συνάντησιν τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἐξεκενώθησαν τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἤρξαντο πατάσσειν ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ τραυματίας ὡς ἅπαξ καὶ ἅπαξ ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς ἥ ἐστιν μία ἀναβαίνουσα εἰς Βαιθηλ καὶ μία εἰς Γαβαα ἐν ἀγρῷ ὡς τριάκοντα ἄνδρας ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 20:31 Sed et filii Benjamin audacter eruperunt de civitate, et fugientes adversarios longius persecuti sunt, ita ut vulnerarent ex eis sicut primo die et secundo, et cæderent per duas semitas vertentes terga, quarum una ferebatur in Bethel et altera in Gabaa, atque prosternerent triginta circiter viros:(vulgate) Judges 20:31 Then the children of Beniamin comming out against the people, were drawen from the citie: and they began to smite of ye people and kill as at other times, euen by the wayes in the fielde (whereof one goeth vp to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah) vpon a thirtie men of Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 20:31 Da fuhren die Kinder Benjamin heraus, dem Volk entgegen, und wurden losgerissen von der Stadt und fingen an zu schlagen und zu verwunden etliche vom Volk, wie zuvor zweimal, im Felde auf zwei Straßen, deren eine gen Beth-El, die andere gen Gibea geht, bei dreißig Mann in Israel.(dhs) Jdg 20:31 So the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city. Qui fugam arte simulantes inierunt consilium ut abstraherent eos de civitate, et quasi fugientes ad supradictas semitas perducerent.(vulgate) Judges 20:32 (For the children of Beniamin sayd, They are fallen before vs, as at the first. But the children of Israel saide, Let vs flee and plucke them away from the citie vnto the hie wayes)(Geneva) Jdg 20:32 Da gedachten die Kinder Benjamin: Sie sind geschlagen vor uns wie vorhin. Aber die Kinder Israel sprachen: Laßt uns fliehen, daß wir sie von der Stadt reißen auf die Straßen!(dhs) Jdg 20:32 And the children of Benjamin said, "They are defeated before us, as at first." But the children of Israel said, "Let us flee and draw them away from the city to the highways."(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:33 ============ Jdg 20:33 Then all the men of Israel arose from their place and arrayed themselves at Baal-tamar; and the men of Israel in ambush broke out of their place, even out of Maareh-geba.(nas) Jdg 20:33 καὶ πᾶς ἀνὴρ ἀνέστη ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ καὶ συνῆψαν ἐν Βααλθαμαρ καὶ τὸ ἔνεδρον Ισραηλ ἐπήρχετο ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Μααραγαβε (lxx) Jdg 20:33 Omnes itaque filii Israël surgentes de sedibus suis, tetenderunt aciem in loco qui vocatur Baalthamar. Insidiæ quoque, quæ circa urbem erant, paulatim se aperire cœperunt,(vulgate) Judges 20:33 And all the men of Israel rose vp out of their place, and put themselues in aray at Baal-tamar: and the men that lay in wayte of the Israelites came forth of their place, euen out of the medowes of Gibeah,(Geneva) Jdg 20:33 Da machten sich auf alle Männer von Israel von ihrem Ort und stellten sich zu Baal-Thamar. Und der Hinterhalt Israels brach hervor an seinem Ort, von der Höhle Geba,(dhs) Jdg 20:33 So all the men of Israel rose from their place and put themselves in battle array at Baal Tamar. Then Israel's men in ambush burst forth from their position in the plain of Geba.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:34 ============ Jdg 20:34 When ten thousand choice men from all Israel came against Gibeah, the battle became fierce; but Benjamin did not know that disaster was close to them.(nas) Jdg 20:34 καὶ ἦλθον ἐξ ἐναντίας Γαβαα δέκα χιλιάδες ἀνδρῶν ἐκλεκτῶν ἐκ παντὸς Ισραηλ καὶ παράταξις βαρεῖα καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ὅτι φθάνει ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς ἡ κακία (lxx) Jdg 20:34 et ab occidentali urbis parte procedere. Sed et alia decem millia virorum de universo Israël, habitatores urbis ad certamina provocabant. Ingravatumque est bellum contra filios Benjamin: et non intellexerunt quod ex omni parte illis instaret interitus.(vulgate) Judges 20:34 And they came ouer against Gibeah, ten thousande chosen men of all Israel, and the battell was sore: for they knewe not that the euill was neere them.(Geneva) Jdg 20:34 und kamen gen Gibea zehntausend Mann, auserlesen aus ganz Israel, daß der Streit hart ward; sie aber wußten nicht, daß sie das Unglück treffen würde.(dhs) Jdg 20:34 And ten thousand select men from all Israel came against Gibeah, and the battle was fierce. But the Benjamites did not know that disaster was upon them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:35 ============ Jdg 20:35 And the Lord struck Benjamin before Israel, so that the sons of Israel destroyed 25,100 men of Benjamin that day, all who draw the sword.(nas) Jdg 20:35 καὶ ἐπάταξεν κύριος τὸν Βενιαμιν ἐνώπιον υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ διέφθειραν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐκ τοῦ Βενιαμιν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε χιλιάδας καὶ ἑκατὸν ἄνδρας πάντες οὗτοι εἷλκον ῥομφαίαν (lxx) Jdg 20:35 Percussitque eos Dominus in conspectu filiorum Israël, et interfecerunt ex eis in illo die viginti quinque millia, et centum viros, omnes bellatores et educentes gladium.~(vulgate) Judges 20:35 And the Lord smote Beniamin before Israel, and the children of Israel destroyed of the Beniamites the same day fiue and twenty thousand and an hundreth men: all they could handle the sword.(Geneva) Jdg 20:35 Also schlug der HERR den Benjamin vor den Kindern Israel, daß die Kinder Israel auf den Tag verderbten fünfundzwanzigtausend und hundert Mann in Benjamin, die alle das Schwert führten.(dhs) Jdg 20:35 The Lord defeated Benjamin before Israel. And the children of Israel destroyed that day twenty-five thousand one hundred Benjamites; all these drew the sword.(nkjv) ======= Judges 20:36 ============ Jdg 20:36 So the sons of Benjamin saw that they were defeated. When the men of Israel gave ground to Benjamin because they relied on the men in ambush whom they had set against Gibeah,(nas) Jdg 20:36 καὶ εἶδον οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ὅτι ἐπλήγησαν καὶ ἔδωκεν ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ τόπον τῷ Βενιαμιν ὅτι ἤλπισαν πρὸς τὸ ἔνεδρον ὃ ἔθηκαν ἐπὶ τὴν Γαβαα (lxx) Jdg 20:36 Filii autem Benjamin cum se inferiores esse vidissent, cœperunt fugere. Quod cernentes filii Israël, dederunt eis ad fugiendum locum, ut ad præparatas insidias devenirent, quas juxta urbem posuerant.(vulgate) Judges 20:36 So the children of Beniamin sawe that they were striken downe: for the men of Israel gaue place to the Beniamites, because they trusted to the men that lay in waite, which they had laide beside Gibeah.(Geneva) Jdg 20:36 Denn da die Kinder Benjamin sahen, daß sie geschlagen waren, gaben ihnen die Männer Israels Raum; denn sie verließen sich auf den Hinterhalt, den sie bei Gibea aufgestellt hatten.(dhs) Jdg 20:36 So the children of Benjamin saw that they were defeated.
