Today's Date: ======= Judges 21:1 ============ Jdg 21:1 Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpah, saying, "None of us shall give his daughter to Benjamin in marriage."(nas) Jdg 21:1 καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ὤμοσαν ἐν Μασσηφα λέγοντες ἀνὴρ ἐξ ἡμῶν οὐ δώσει θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ τῷ Βενιαμιν εἰς γυναῖκα (lxx) Jdg 21:1 Juraverunt quoque filii Israël in Maspha, et dixerunt: Nullus nostrum dabit filiis Benjamin de filiabus suis uxorem.(vulgate) Judges 21:1 Moreouer, the men of Israel sware in Mizpeh, saying, None of vs shall giue his daughter vnto the Beniamites to wyfe.(Geneva) Jdg 21:1 Aber die Männer Israels hatten zu Mizpa geschworen und gesagt: Niemand soll seine Tochter den Benjaminitern zum Weib geben.(dhs) Jdg 21:1 Now the men of Israel had sworn an oath at Mizpah, saying, "None of us shall give his daughter to Benjamin as a wife."(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:2 ============ Jdg 21:2 So the people came to Bethel and sat there before God until evening, and lifted up their voices and wept bitterly.(nas) Jdg 21:2 καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ λαὸς εἰς Βαιθηλ καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐκεῖ ἕως ἑσπέρας ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἦραν φωνὴν αὐτῶν καὶ ἔκλαυσαν κλαυθμὸν μέγαν (lxx) Jdg 21:2 Veneruntque omnes ad domum Dei in Silo, et in conspectu ejus sedentes usque ad vesperam, levaverunt vocem, et magno ululatu cœperunt flere, dicentes:(vulgate) Judges 21:2 And the people came vnto ye house of God and abode there till euen before God, and lift vp their voyces, and wept with great lamentation,(Geneva) Jdg 21:2 Und das Volk kam gen Beth-El und blieb da bis zum Abend vor Gott, und sie hoben auf ihre Stimme und weinten sehr(dhs) Jdg 21:2 Then the people came to the house of God, and remained there before God till evening. They lifted up their voices and wept bitterly,(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:3 ============ Jdg 21:3 They said, "Why, O Lord, God of Israel, has this come about in Israel, so that one tribe should be missing today in Israel?"(nas) Jdg 21:3 καὶ εἶπαν εἰς τί κύριε θεὲ Ισραηλ ἐγενήθη αὕτη τοῦ ἐπισκεπῆναι σήμερον ἀπὸ Ισραηλ φυλὴν μίαν (lxx) Jdg 21:3 Quare, Domine Deus Israël, factum est hoc malum in populo tuo, ut hodie una tribus auferretur ex nobis?(vulgate) Judges 21:3 And sayde, O Lorde God of Israel, why is this come to passe in Israel, that this day one tribe of Israel should want?(Geneva) Jdg 21:3 und sprachen: O HERR, Gott von Israel, warum ist das geschehen in Israel, daß heute Israel um einen Stamm kleiner geworden ist?(dhs) Jdg 21:3 and said, "O Lord God of Israel, why has this come to pass in Israel, that today there should be one tribe missing in Israel?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:4 ============ Jdg 21:4 It came about the next day that the people arose early and built an altar there and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.(nas) Jdg 21:4 καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἐπαύριον καὶ ὤρθρισεν ὁ λαὸς καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν ὁλοκαυτώσεις καὶ τελείας (lxx) Jdg 21:4 Altera autem die diluculo consurgentes, exstruxerunt altare: obtuleruntque ibi holocausta, et pacificas victimas, et dixerunt:(vulgate) Judges 21:4 And on the morow the people rose vp & made there an altar, and offred burnt offrings and peace offrings.(Geneva) Jdg 21:4 Des andern Morgens machte sich das Volk früh auf und baute da einen Altar und opferte Brandopfer und Dankopfer.(dhs) Jdg 21:4 So it was, on the next morning, that the people rose early and built an altar there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:5 ============ Jdg 21:5 Then the sons of Israel said, "Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who did not come up in the assembly to the Lord?" For they had taken a great oath concerning him who did not come up to the Lord at Mizpah, saying, "He shall surely be put to death."(nas) Jdg 21:5 καὶ εἶπον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τίς οὐκ ἀνέβη ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ ἀπὸ πασῶν φυλῶν Ισραηλ πρὸς κύριον ὅτι ὁ ὅρκος μέγας ἦν τοῖς οὐκ ἀναβεβηκόσιν πρὸς κύριον εἰς Μασσηφα λέγοντες θανάτῳ θανατωθήσεται (lxx) Jdg 21:5 Quis non ascendit in exercitu Domini de universis tribubus Israël? grandi enim juramento se constrinxerant, cum essent in Maspha, interfici eos qui defuissent.(vulgate) Judges 21:5 Then the children of Israel said, Who is he among all the tribes of Israel, that came not vp with the Congregation vnto the Lorde? For they had made a great othe concerning him that came not vp to the Lord to Mizpeh, saying, Let him die the death.(Geneva) Jdg 21:5 Und die Kinder Israel sprachen: Wer ist irgend von den Stämmen Israels, der nicht mit der Gemeinde ist heraufgekommen zum HERRN? Denn es war ein großer Eid geschehen, daß, wer nicht hinaufkäme zum HERRN gen Mizpa, der sollte des Todes sterben.(dhs) Jdg 21:5 The children of Israel said, "Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who did not come up with the assembly to the Lord?" For they had made a great oath concerning anyone who had not come up to the Lord at Mizpah, saying, "He shall surely be put to death."(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:6 ============ Jdg 21:6 And the sons of Israel were sorry for their brother Benjamin and said, "One tribe is cut off from Israel today.(nas) Jdg 21:6 καὶ παρεκλήθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς Βενιαμιν ἀδελφὸν αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπαν ἐξεκόπη σήμερον φυλὴ μία ἀπὸ Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 21:6 Ductique pœnitentia filii Israël super fratre suo Benjamin, cœperunt dicere: Ablata est tribus una de Israël:(vulgate) Judges 21:6 And the children of Israel were sory for Beniamin their brother, & said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.(Geneva) Jdg 21:6 Und es reute die Kinder Israel über Benjamin, ihre Brüder, und sie sprachen: Heute ist ein Stamm von Israel abgebrochen.(dhs) Jdg 21:6 And the children of Israel grieved for Benjamin their brother, and said, "One tribe is cut off from Israel today.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:7 ============ Jdg 21:7 What shall we do for wives for those who are left, since we have sworn by the Lord not to give them any of our daughters in marriage?" (nas) Jdg 21:7 τί ποιήσωμεν αὐτοῖς τοῖς περισσοῖς τοῖς ὑπολειφθεῖσιν εἰς γυναῖκας καὶ ἡμεῖς ὠμόσαμεν ἐν κυρίῳ τοῦ μὴ δοῦναι αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων ἡμῶν εἰς γυναῖκας (lxx) Jdg 21:7 unde uxores accipient? omnes enim in commune juravimus, non daturos nos his filias nostras.(vulgate) Judges 21:7 How shal we do for wiues to them that remaine, seeing we haue sworne by the Lorde, that we will not giue them of our daughters to wiues?(Geneva) Jdg 21:7 Wie wollen wir ihnen tun, daß die Übriggebliebenen Weiber kriegen? Denn wir haben geschworen bei dem HERRN, daß wir ihnen von unsern Töchtern nicht Weiber geben.(dhs) Jdg 21:7 What shall we do for wives for those who remain, seeing we have sworn by the Lord that we will not give them our daughters as wives?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:8 ============ Jdg 21:8 And they said, "What one is there of the tribes of Israel who did not come up to the Lord at Mizpah?" And behold, no one had come to the camp from Jabesh-gilead to the assembly.(nas) Jdg 21:8 καὶ εἶπαν τίς εἷς ἀπὸ φυλῶν Ισραηλ ὃς οὐκ ἀνέβη πρὸς κύριον εἰς Μασσηφα καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἦλθεν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν ἀπὸ Ιαβις Γαλααδ εἰς τὴν ἐκκλησίαν (lxx) Jdg 21:8 Idcirco dixerunt: Quis est de universis tribubus Israël, qui non ascendit ad Dominum in Maspha? Et ecce inventi sunt habitatores Jabes Galaad in illo exercitu non fuisse.(vulgate) Judges 21:8 Also they saide, Is there any of the tribes of Israel that came not vp to Mizpeh to the Lord? and beholde, there came none of Iabesh Gilead vnto the hoste and to the Congregation.(Geneva) Jdg 21:8 Und sprachen: Wer ist irgend von den Stämmen Israels, die nicht hinaufgekommen sind zum HERRN gen Mizpa? And, in fact, no one had come to the camp from Jabesh Gilead to the assembly.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:9 ============ Jdg 21:9 For when the people were numbered, behold, not one of the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead was there.(nas) Jdg 21:9 καὶ ἐπεσκέπη ὁ λαός καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἐκεῖ ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ οἰκούντων Ιαβις Γαλααδ (lxx) Jdg 21:9 (Eo quoque tempore cum essent in Silo, nullus ex eis ibi repertus est.)~(vulgate) Judges 21:9 For when the people were vewed; beholde, none of the inhabitants of Iabesh Gilead were there.(Geneva) Jdg 21:9 Denn sie zählten das Volk, und siehe, da war kein Bürger da von Jabes in Gilead.(dhs) Jdg 21:9 For when the people were counted, indeed, not one of the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead was there.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:10 ============ Jdg 21:10 And the congregation sent 12,000 of the valiant warriors there, and commanded them, saying, "Go and strike the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead with the edge of the sword, with the women and the little ones.(nas) Jdg 21:10 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἐκεῖ ἡ συναγωγὴ δώδεκα χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν ἀπὸ υἱῶν τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ ἐνετείλαντο αὐτοῖς λέγοντες πορεύεσθε καὶ πατάξατε τοὺς οἰκοῦντας Ιαβις Γαλααδ ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας (lxx) Jdg 21:10 Miserunt itaque decem millia viros robustissimos, et præceperunt eis: Ite, et percutite habitatores Jabes Galaad in ore gladii, tam uxores quam parvulos eorum.(vulgate) Judges 21:10 Therefore the Congregation sent thither twelue thousande men of the most valiant, and commaunded them, saying, Goe, and smite the inhabitants of Iabesh Gilead with the edge of the sword, both women, and children.(Geneva) Jdg 21:10 Da sandte die Gemeinde zwölftausend Mann dahin von streitbaren Männern und geboten ihnen und sprachen: Geht hin und schlagt mit der Schärfe des Schwerts die Bürger zu Jabes in Gilead mit Weib und Kind.(dhs) Jdg 21:10 So the congregation sent out there twelve thousand of their most valiant men, and commanded them, saying, "Go and strike the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead with the edge of the sword, including the women and children.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:11 ============ Jdg 21:11 This is the thing that you shall do: you shall utterly destroy every man and every woman who has lain with a man."(nas) Jdg 21:11 καὶ τοῦτο ποιήσετε πᾶν ἄρσεν καὶ πᾶσαν γυναῖκα εἰδυῖαν κοίτην ἄρσενος ἀναθεματιεῖτε τὰς δὲ παρθένους περιποιήσεσθε καὶ ἐποίησαν οὕτως (lxx) Jdg 21:11 Et hoc erit quod observare debebitis: omne generis masculini, et mulieres quæ cognoverunt viros, interficite; virgines autem reservate.(vulgate) Judges 21:11 And this is it that ye shall do: ye shall vtterly destroye all the males and all the women that haue lien by men.(Geneva) Jdg 21:11 Doch also sollt ihr tun: alles, was männlich ist, und alle Weiber, die beim Mann gelegen haben, verbannt.(dhs) Jdg 21:11 And this is the thing that you shall do: You shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman who has known a man intimately."(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:12 ============ Jdg 21:12 And they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead 400 young virgins who had not known a man by lying with him; and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.(nas) Jdg 21:12 καὶ εὗρον ἀπὸ οἰκούντων Ιαβις Γαλααδ τετρακοσίας νεάνιδας παρθένους αἵτινες οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ἄνδρα εἰς κοίτην ἄρσενος καὶ ἤνεγκαν αὐτὰς εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν εἰς Σηλων τὴν ἐν γῇ Χανααν (lxx) Jdg 21:12 Inventæque sunt de Jabes Galaad quadringentæ virgines, quæ nescierunt viri thorum: et adduxerunt eas ad castra in Silo, in terram Chanaan.(vulgate) Judges 21:12 And they found among the inhabitants of Iabesh Gilead foure hundreth maides, virgins that had knowne no man by lying with any male: and they brought them vnto the hoste to Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.(Geneva) Jdg 21:12 Und sie fanden bei den Bürgern zu Jabes in Gilead vierhundert Dirnen, die Jungfrauen waren und bei keinem Mann gelegen hatten; die brachten sie ins Lager gen Silo, das da liegt im Lande Kanaan.(dhs) Jdg 21:12 So they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead four hundred young virgins who had not known a man intimately; and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:13 ============ Jdg 21:13 Then the whole congregation sent word and spoke to the sons of Benjamin who were at the rock of Rimmon, and proclaimed peace to them.(nas) Jdg 21:13 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν ἐν τῇ πέτρᾳ Ρεμμων καὶ ἐκάλεσαν αὐτοὺς εἰς εἰρήνην (lxx) Jdg 21:13 Miseruntque nuntios ad filios Benjamin, qui erant in petra Remmon, et præceperunt eis, ut eos susciperent in pace.(vulgate) Judges 21:13 Then the whole Congregation sent and spake with the children of Beniamin that were in the rocke of Rimmon, and called peaceably vnto them:(Geneva) Jdg 21:13 Da sandte die ganze Gemeinde hin und ließ reden mit den Kindern Benjamin, die im Fels Rimmon waren, und sagten ihnen Frieden zu.(dhs) Jdg 21:13 Then the whole congregation sent word to the children of Benjamin who were at the rock of Rimmon, and announced peace to them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:14 ============ Jdg 21:14 Benjamin returned at that time, and they gave them the women whom they had kept alive from the women of Jabesh-gilead; yet they were not enough for them.(nas) Jdg 21:14 καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Βενιαμιν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτοῖς οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὰς γυναῖκας ἃς ἐζωοποίησαν ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων Ιαβις Γαλααδ καὶ ἤρεσεν αὐτοῖς οὕτως (lxx) Jdg 21:14 Veneruntque filii Benjamin in illo tempore, et datæ sunt eis uxores de filiabus Jabes Galaad: alias autem non repererunt, quas simili modo traderent.(vulgate) Judges 21:14 And Beniamin came againe at that time, and they gaue them wiues which they had saued aliue of the women of Iabesh Gilead: but they had not so ynough for them.(Geneva) Jdg 21:14 Also kamen die Kinder Benjamin wieder zu der Zeit. Und sie gaben ihnen die Weiber, die sie hatten erhalten von den Weibern zu Jabes in Gilead; aber es waren ihrer nicht genug für sie.(dhs) Jdg 21:14 So Benjamin came back at that time, and they gave them the women whom they had saved alive of the women of Jabesh Gilead; and yet they had not found enough for them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:15 ============ Jdg 21:15 And the people were sorry for Benjamin because the Lord had made a breach in the tribes of Israel.(nas) Jdg 21:15 καὶ ὁ λαὸς παρεκλήθη ἐπὶ τῷ Βενιαμιν ὅτι ἐποίησεν κύριος διακοπὴν ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 21:15 Universusque Israël valde doluit, et egit pœnitentiam super interfectione unius tribus ex Israël.~(vulgate) Judges 21:15 And the people were sorie for Beniamin, because the Lord had made a breach in the tribes of Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 21:15 Da reute es das Volk über Benjamin, daß der HERR einen Riß gemacht hatte in den Stämmen Israels.(dhs) Jdg 21:15 And the people grieved for Benjamin, because the Lord had made a void in the tribes of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:16 ============ Jdg 21:16 Then the elders of the congregation said, "What shall we do for wives for those who are left, since the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?"(nas) Jdg 21:16 καὶ εἶπον οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τῆς συναγωγῆς τί ποιήσωμεν τοῖς περισσοῖς εἰς γυναῖκας ὅτι ἠφανίσθη ἀπὸ Βενιαμιν γυνή (lxx) Jdg 21:16 Dixeruntque majores natu: Quid faciemus reliquis, qui non acceperunt uxores? omnes in Benjamin feminæ conciderunt,(vulgate) Judges 21:16 Therefore the Elders of the Congregation said, How shall we doe for wiues to the remnant? for the women of Beniamin are destroyed.(Geneva) Jdg 21:16 Und die Ältesten der Gemeinde sprachen: Was wollen wir tun, daß die Übriggebliebenen Weiber kriegen? Denn die Weiber in Benjamin sind vertilgt.(dhs) Jdg 21:16 Then the elders of the congregation said, "What shall we do for wives for those who remain, since the women of Benjamin have been destroyed?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:17 ============ Jdg 21:17 They said, "There must be an inheritance for the survivors of Benjamin, so that a tribe will not be blotted out from Israel.(nas) Jdg 21:17 καὶ εἶπαν κληρονομία διασῳζομένων τῷ Βενιαμιν καὶ οὐκ ἐξαλειφθήσεται φυλὴ ἀπὸ Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 21:17 et magna nobis cura, ingentique studio providendum est, ne una tribus deleatur ex Israël.(vulgate) Judges 21:17 And they saide, there must be an inheritance for them that be escaped of Beniamin, that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 21:17 Und sie sprachen: Die übrigen von Benjamin müssen ja ihr Erbe behalten, daß nicht ein Stamm ausgetilgt werde von Israel.(dhs) Jdg 21:17 And they said, "There must be an inheritance for the survivors of Benjamin, that a tribe may not be destroyed from Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:18 ============ Jdg 21:18 But we cannot give them wives of our daughters." For the sons of Israel had sworn, saying, "Cursed is he who gives a wife to Benjamin."(nas) Jdg 21:18 ὅτι ἡμεῖς οὐ δυνησόμεθα δοῦναι αὐτοῖς γυναῖκας ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων ἡμῶν ὅτι ὠμόσαμεν ἐν υἱοῖς Ισραηλ λέγοντες ἐπικατάρατος ὁ διδοὺς γυναῖκα τῷ Βενιαμιν (lxx) Jdg 21:18 Filias enim nostras eis dare non possumus, constricti juramento et maledictione qua diximus: Maledictus qui dederit de filiabus suis uxorem Benjamin.(vulgate) Judges 21:18 Howbeit we may not giue them wiues of our daughters: for the childre of Israel had sworne, saying, Cursed be he that giueth a wise to Beniamin.(Geneva) Jdg 21:18 Und wir können ihnen unsre Töchter nicht zu Weibern geben; denn die Kinder Israel haben geschworen und gesagt: Verflucht sei, wer den Benjaminitern ein Weib gibt!(dhs) Jdg 21:18 However, we cannot give them wives from our daughters, for the children of Israel have sworn an oath, saying, 'Cursed be the one who gives a wife to Benjamin.' "(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:19 ============ Jdg 21:19 So they said, "Behold, there is a feast of the Lord from year to year in Shiloh, which is on the north side of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and on the south side of Lebonah."(nas) Jdg 21:19 καὶ εἶπαν ἰδοὺ δὴ ἑορτὴ κυρίου ἐν Σηλων ἀφ᾽ ἡμερῶν εἰς ἡμέρας ἥ ἐστιν ἀπὸ βορρᾶ τῆς Βαιθηλ κατ᾽ ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου ἐπὶ τῆς ὁδοῦ τῆς ἀναβαινούσης ἀπὸ Βαιθηλ εἰς Συχεμ καὶ ἀπὸ νότου τῆς Λεβωνα (lxx) Jdg 21:19 Ceperuntque consilium, atque dixerunt: Ecce solemnitas Domini est in Silo anniversaria, quæ sita est ad septentrionem urbis Bethel, et ad orientalem plagam viæ, quæ de Bethel tendit ad Sichimam, et ad meridiem oppidi Lebona.(vulgate) Judges 21:19 Therefore they said, Beholde, there is a feast of the Lord euery yere in Shiloh in a place, which is on the Northside of Beth-el, and on the Eastside of the way that goeth vp from Beth-el to Shechem, and on the South of Lebonah.(Geneva) Jdg 21:19 Und sie sprachen: Siehe, es ist ein Jahrfest des HERRN zu Silo, das mitternachtwärts liegt von Beth-El, gegen der Sonne Aufgang von der Straße, da man hinaufgeht von Beth-El gen Sichem, und mittagswärts liegt von Lebona.(dhs) Jdg 21:19 Then they said, "In fact, there is a yearly feast of the Lord in Shiloh, which is north of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and south of Lebonah."(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:20 ============ Jdg 21:20 And they commanded the sons of Benjamin, saying, "Go and lie in wait in the vineyards,(nas) Jdg 21:20 καὶ ἐνετείλαντο τοῖς υἱοῖς Βενιαμιν λέγοντες πορεύεσθε ἐνεδρεύσατε ἐν τοῖς ἀμπελῶσιν (lxx) Jdg 21:20 Præceperuntque filiis Benjamin, atque dixerunt: Ite, ad latitate in vineis.(vulgate) Judges 21:20 Therefore they commaunded the children of Beniamin, saying, Goe, and lye in waite in the vineyardes.(Geneva) Jdg 21:20 Und sie geboten den Kindern Benjamin und sprachen: Gehet hin und lauert in den Weinbergen.(dhs) Jdg 21:20 Therefore they instructed the children of Benjamin, saying, "Go, lie in wait in the vineyards,(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:21 ============ Jdg 21:21 and watch; and behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to take part in the dances, then you shall come out of the vineyards and each of you shall catch his wife from the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.(nas) Jdg 21:21 καὶ ὄψεσθε καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐὰν ἐξέλθωσιν αἱ θυγατέρες τῶν οἰκούντων Σηλων χορεύειν ἐν τοῖς χοροῖς καὶ ἐξελεύσεσθε ἐκ τῶν ἀμπελώνων καὶ ἁρπάσατε ἑαυτοῖς ἀνὴρ γυναῖκα ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων Σηλων καὶ πορεύεσθε εἰς γῆν Βενιαμιν (lxx) Jdg 21:21 Cumque videritis filias Silo ad ducendos choros ex more procedere, exite repente de vineis, et rapite ex eis singuli uxores singulas, et pergite in terram Benjamin.(vulgate) Judges 21:21 And when ye see that the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come ye out of the vineyards, and catche you euery man a wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and goe into the land of Beniamin.(Geneva) Jdg 21:21 Wenn ihr dann seht, daß die Töchter Silos heraus mit Reigen zum Tanz gehen, so fahret hervor aus den Weinbergen und nehme ein jeglicher sich ein Weib von den Töchtern Silos und gehet hin ins Land Benjamin.(dhs) Jdg 21:21 and watch; and just when the daughters of Shiloh come out to perform their dances, then come out from the vineyards, and every man catch a wife for himself from the daughters of Shiloh; then go to the land of Benjamin.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:22 ============ Jdg 21:22 It shall come about, when their fathers or their brothers come to complain to us, that we shall say to them, 'Give them to us voluntarily, because we did not take for each man of Benjamin a wife in battle, nor did you give them to them, else you would now be guilty.'"(nas) Jdg 21:22 καὶ ἔσται ὅταν ἔλθωσιν οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν ἢ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτῶν κρίνεσθαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐροῦμεν αὐτοῖς ἔλεος ποιήσατε ἡμῖν αὐτάς ὅτι οὐκ ἐλάβομεν ἀνὴρ γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ παρατάξει ὅτι οὐχ ὑμεῖς ἐδώκατε αὐτοῖς ὡς καιρὸς πλημμελήσατε (lxx) Jdg 21:22 Cumque venerint patres earum, ac fratres, et adversum vos queri cœperint atque jurgari, dicemus eis: Miseremini eorum: non enim rapuerunt eas jure bellantium atque victorum: sed rogantibus ut acciperent, non dedistis, et a vestra parte peccatum est.(vulgate) Judges 21:22 And when their fathers or their brethren come vnto vs to complaine, we wil say vnto them, Haue pitie on them for our sakes, because we reserued not to eche man his wife in the warre, and because ye haue not giuen vnto them hitherto, ye haue sinned.(Geneva) Jdg 21:22 Wenn aber ihre Väter oder Brüder kommen, mit uns zu rechten, wollen wir zu ihnen sagen: Gönnt sie uns; denn wir hatten nicht für jeden ein Weib genommen im Streit. Auch habt nicht ihr sie ihnen gegeben; sonst wäret ihr jetzt schuldig.(dhs) Jdg 21:22 Then it shall be, when their fathers or their brothers come to us to complain, that we will say to them, 'Be kind to them for our sakes, because we did not take a wife for any of them in the war; for it is not as though you have given the women to them at this time, making yourselves guilty of your oath.' "(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:23 ============ Jdg 21:23 The sons of Benjamin did so, and took wives according to their number from those who danced, whom they carried away. And they went and returned to their inheritance and rebuilt the cities and lived in them.(nas) Jdg 21:23 καὶ ἐποίησαν οὕτως οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ ἔλαβον γυναῖκας εἰς ἀριθμὸν αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν χορευουσῶν ὧν ἥρπασαν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ὑπέστρεψαν εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτῶν καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν τὰς πόλεις καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐν αὐταῖς (lxx) Jdg 21:23 Feceruntque filii Benjamin ut sibi fuerat imperatum: et juxta numerum suum, rapuerunt sibi de his quæ ducebant choros, uxores singulas: abieruntque in possessionem suam ædificantes urbes, et habitantes in eis.(vulgate) Judges 21:23 And the children of Beniamin did so, and tooke wiues of them that danced according to their nomber: which they tooke, and went away, and returned to their inheritance, and repaired the cities and dwelt in them.(Geneva) Jdg 21:23 Die Kinder Benjamin taten also und nahmen Weiber nach ihrer Zahl von den Reigen, die sie raubten, und zogen hin und wohnten in ihrem Erbteil und bauten die Städte und wohnten darin.(dhs) Jdg 21:23 And the children of Benjamin did so; they took enough wives for their number from those who danced, whom they caught. Then they went and returned to their inheritance, and they rebuilt the cities and dwelt in them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:24 ============ Jdg 21:24 The sons of Israel departed from there at that time, every man to his tribe and family, and each one of them went out from there to his inheritance.(nas) Jdg 21:24 καὶ περιεπάτησαν ἐκεῖθεν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀνὴρ εἰς φυλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰς συγγένειαν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξῆλθον ἐκεῖθεν ἀνὴρ εἰς κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 21:24 Filii quoque Israël reversi sunt per tribus et familias in tabernacula sua.(vulgate) Judges 21:24 So the children of Israel departed thence at that time, euery man to his tribe, and to his familie, and went out from thence euery man to his inheritance.(Geneva) Jdg 21:24 Auch die Kinder Israel machten sich von dannen zu der Zeit, ein jeglicher zu seinem Stamm und zu seinem Geschlecht, und zogen von da aus, ein jeglicher zu seinem Erbteil.(dhs) Jdg 21:24 So the children of Israel departed from there at that time, every man to his tribe and family; they went out from there, every man to his inheritance.(nkjv) ======= Judges 21:25 ============ Jdg 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
