It came to pass in the month of Chislev, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the citadel,(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:2 ============ Neh 1:2 that Hanani, one of my brothers, and some men from Judah came; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped and had survived the captivity, and about Jerusalem.(nas) Neh 1:2 καὶ ἦλθεν Ανανι εἷς ἀπὸ ἀδελφῶν μου αὐτὸς καὶ ἄνδρες Ιουδα καὶ ἠρώτησα αὐτοὺς περὶ τῶν σωθέντων οἳ κατελείφθησαν ἀπὸ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας καὶ περὶ Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) Neh 1:2 Et venit Hanani, unus de fratribus meis, ipse et viri ex Juda: et interrogavi eos de Judæis qui remanserant, et supererant de captivitate, et Jerusalem.(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:2 Came Hanam, one of my brethren, he and the men of Iudah, & I asked them concerning the Iewes that were deliuered, which were of the residue of the captiuitie, and concerning Ierusalem.(Geneva) Neh 1:2 da kam Hanani, einer meiner Brüder, mit etlichen Männern aus Juda. Und ich fragte sie, wie es den Juden ginge, die errettet und übrig waren von der Gefangenschaft, und wie es zu Jerusalem ginge.(dhs) Neh 1:2 that Hanani one of my brethren came with men from Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:3 ============ Neh 1:3 They said to me, "The remnant there in the province who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire."(nas) Neh 1:3 καὶ εἴποσαν πρός με οἱ καταλειπόμενοι οἱ καταλειφθέντες ἀπὸ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας ἐκεῖ ἐν τῇ χώρᾳ ἐν πονηρίᾳ μεγάλῃ καὶ ἐν ὀνειδισμῷ καὶ τείχη Ιερουσαλημ καθῃρημένα καὶ αἱ πύλαι αὐτῆς ἐνεπρήσθησαν ἐν πυρί (lxx) Neh 1:3 Et dixerunt mihi: Qui remanserunt, et relicti sunt de captivitate ibi in provincia, in afflictione magna sunt, et in opprobrio: et murus Jerusalem dissipatus est, et portæ ejus combustæ sunt igni.(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:3 And they sayde vnto me, The residue that are left of the captiuitie there in the prouince, are in great affliction and in reproche, & the wall of Ierusalem is broken downe, & the gates thereof are burnt with fire.(Geneva) Neh 1:3 Und sie sprachen zu mir: Die übrigen von der Gefangenschaft sind daselbst im Lande in großem Unglück und Schmach; die Mauern Jerusalems sind zerbrochen und seine Tore mit Feuer verbrannt.(dhs) Neh 1:3 And they said to me, "The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire."(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:4 ============ Neh 1:4 When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.(nas) Neh 1:4 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἀκοῦσαί με τοὺς λόγους τούτους ἐκάθισα καὶ ἔκλαυσα καὶ ἐπένθησα ἡμέρας καὶ ἤμην νηστεύων καὶ προσευχόμενος ἐνώπιον θεοῦ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ (lxx) Neh 1:4 Cumque audissem verba hujuscemodi, sedi, et flevi, et luxi diebus multis: jejunabam, et orabam ante faciem Dei cæli:(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:4 And when I heard these wordes, I sate downe and wept, and mourned certeine dayes, & I fasted and prayed before the God of heauen,(Geneva) Neh 1:4 Da ich aber solche Worte hörte, saß ich und weinte und trug Leid etliche Tage und fastete und betete vor dem Gott des Himmels(dhs) Neh 1:4 So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:5 ============ Neh 1:5 I said, "I beseech You, O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who preserves the covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments,(nas) Neh 1:5 καὶ εἶπα μὴ δή κύριε ὁ θεὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὁ ἰσχυρὸς ὁ μέγας καὶ ὁ φοβερός φυλάσσων τὴν διαθήκην καὶ τὸ ἔλεος τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτὸν καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Neh 1:5 et dixi: Quæso, Domine Deus cæli fortis, magne atque terribilis, qui custodis pactum et misericordiam cum his qui te diligunt, et custodiunt mandata tua:(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:5 And sayde, O Lorde God of heauen, the great and terrible God, that keepeth couenant and mercy for them that loue him, and obserue his commandements,(Geneva) Neh 1:5 und sprach: Ach HERR, Gott des Himmels, großer und schrecklicher Gott, der da hält den Bund und die Barmherzigkeit denen, die ihn lieben und seine Gebote halten,(dhs) Neh 1:5 And I said: "I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments,(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:6 ============ Neh 1:6 let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Your servants, confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You; I and my father's house have sinned.(nas) Neh 1:6 ἔστω δὴ τὸ οὖς σου προσέχον καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ἀνεῳγμένοι τοῦ ἀκοῦσαι προσευχὴν δούλου σου ἣν ἐγὼ προσεύχομαι ἐνώπιόν σου σήμερον ἡμέραν καὶ νύκτα περὶ υἱῶν Ισραηλ δούλων σου καὶ ἐξαγορεύω ἐπὶ ἁμαρτίαις υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἃς ἡμάρτομέν σοι καὶ ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ οἶκος πατρός μου ἡμάρτομεν (lxx) Neh 1:6 fiant aures tuæ auscultantes, et oculi tui aperti, ut audias orationem servi tui, quam ego oro coram te hodie nocte et die pro filiis Israël servis tuis: et confiteor pro peccatis filiorum Israël, quibus peccaverunt tibi: ego et domus patris mei peccavimus,(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:6 I pray thee, let thine eares be attet, & thine eies open, to heare the praier of thy seruat, which I pray before thee dayly, day & night for ye childre of Israel thy seruats, & confesse the sinnes of the children of Israel, which we haue sinned against thee, both I and my fathers house haue sinned:(Geneva) Neh 1:6 laß doch deine Ohren aufmerken und deine Augen offen sein, daß du hörst das Gebet deines Knechtes, das ich nun vor dir bete Tag und Nacht für die Kinder Israel, deine Knechte, und bekenne die Sünden der Kinder Israel, die wir an dir getan haben; und ich und meines Vaters Haus haben auch gesündigt.(dhs) Neh 1:6 please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father's house and I have sinned.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:7 ============ Neh 1:7 We have acted very corruptly against You and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.(nas) Neh 1:7 διαλύσει διελύσαμεν πρὸς σὲ καὶ οὐκ ἐφυλάξαμεν τὰς ἐντολὰς καὶ τὰ προστάγματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ἃ ἐνετείλω τῷ Μωυσῇ παιδί σου (lxx) Neh 1:7 vanitate seducti sumus, et non custodivimus mandatum tuum, et cæremonias, et judicia quæ præcepisti Moysi famulo tuo.(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:7 We haue grieuously sinned against thee, and haue not kept the commandements, nor the statutes, nor the iudgements, which thou commandedst thy seruant Moses.(Geneva) Neh 1:7 Wir haben an dir mißgehandelt, daß wir nicht gehalten haben die Gebote, Befehle und Rechte, die du geboten hast deinem Knecht Mose.(dhs) Neh 1:7 We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:8 ============ Neh 1:8 Remember the word which You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples;(nas) Neh 1:8 μνήσθητι δὴ τὸν λόγον ὃν ἐνετείλω τῷ Μωυσῇ παιδί σου λέγων ὑμεῖς ἐὰν ἀσυνθετήσητε ἐγὼ διασκορπιῶ ὑμᾶς ἐν τοῖς λαοῖς (lxx) Neh 1:8 Memento verbi quod mandasti Moysi servo tuo, dicens: Cum transgressi fueritis, ego dispergam vos in populos:(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:8 I beseeche thee, remember the worde that thou commandedst thy seruant Moses, saying, Ye wil transgresse, and I will scatter you abroade among the people.(Geneva) Neh 1:8 Gedenke aber doch des Wortes, das du deinem Knecht Mose gebotest und sprachst: Wenn ihr euch versündigt, so will ich euch unter die Völker streuen.(dhs) Neh 1:8 Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations;(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:9 ============ Neh 1:9 but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.'(nas) Neh 1:9 καὶ ἐὰν ἐπιστρέψητε πρός με καὶ φυλάξητε τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ ποιήσητε αὐτάς ἐὰν ᾖ ἡ διασπορὰ ὑμῶν ἀπ᾽ ἄκρου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐκεῖθεν συνάξω αὐτοὺς καὶ εἰσάξω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἐξελεξάμην κατασκηνῶσαι τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκεῖ (lxx) Neh 1:9 et si revertamini ad me, et custodiatis præcepta mea, et faciatis ea: etiamsi abducti fueritis ad extrema cæli, inde congregabo vos, et reducam in locum quem elegi ut habitaret nomen meum ibi.(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:9 But if ye turne vnto me, & keepe my commandements, and doe them, though your scattering were to the vttermost part of the heauen, yet will I gather you from thence, and will bring you vnto the place that I haue chosen to place my Name there.(Geneva) Neh 1:9 Wo ihr euch aber bekehrt zu mir und haltet meine Gebote und tut sie, und ob ihr verstoßen wäret bis an der Himmel Ende, so will ich euch doch von da versammeln und will euch bringen an den Ort, den ich erwählt habe, daß mein Name daselbst wohne.(dhs) Neh 1:9 but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name.'(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:10 ============ Neh 1:10 They are Your servants and Your people whom You redeemed by Your great power and by Your strong hand.(nas) Neh 1:10 καὶ αὐτοὶ παῖδές σου καὶ λαός σου οὓς ἐλυτρώσω ἐν δυνάμει σου τῇ μεγάλῃ καὶ ἐν τῇ χειρί σου τῇ κραταιᾷ (lxx) Neh 1:10 Et ipsi servi tui, et populus tuus, quos redemisti in fortitudine tua magna, et in manu tua valida.(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:10 Now these are thy seruants and thy people, whome thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy mightie hand.(Geneva) Neh 1:10 Sie sind ja doch deine Knechte und dein Volk, die du erlöst hast durch deine große Kraft und mächtige Hand.(dhs) Neh 1:10 Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 1:11 ============ Neh 1:11 O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man." Now I was the cupbearer to the king. (nas) Neh 1:11 μὴ δή κύριε ἀλλ᾽ ἔστω τὸ οὖς σου προσέχον εἰς τὴν προσευχὴν τοῦ δούλου σου καὶ εἰς τὴν προσευχὴν παίδων σου τῶν θελόντων φοβεῖσθαι τὸ ὄνομά σου καὶ εὐόδωσον δὴ τῷ παιδί σου σήμερον καὶ δὸς αὐτὸν εἰς οἰκτιρμοὺς ἐνώπιον τοῦ ἀνδρὸς τούτου καὶ ἐγὼ ἤμην οἰνοχόος τῷ βασιλεῖ (lxx) Neh 1:11 Obsecro, Domine, sit auris tua attendens ad orationem servi tui, et ad orationem servorum tuorum, qui volunt timere nomen tuum: et dirige servum tuum hodie, et da ei misericordiam ante virum hunc. Ego enim eram pincerna regis.(vulgate) Nehemiah 1:11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let thine eare now hearken to the prayer of thy seruant, and to the prayer of thy seruants, who desire to feare thy Name, & I pray thee, cause thy seruant to prosper this day, and giue him fauour in the presence of this man: for I was the Kings butler.(Geneva) Neh 1:11 Ach HERR, laß deine Ohren aufmerken auf das Gebet deines Knechtes und auf das Gebet deiner Knechte, die da begehren deinen Namen zu fürchten; und laß es deinem Knecht heute gelingen und gib ihm Barmherzigkeit vor diesem Manne! Denn ich war des Königs Schenke.(dhs) Neh 1:11 O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man." For I was the king's cupbearer.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:1 ============ Neh 2:1 And it came about in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, that wine was before him, and I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence.(nas) Neh 2:1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μηνὶ Νισαν ἔτους εἰκοστοῦ Αρθασασθα βασιλεῖ καὶ ἦν ὁ οἶνος ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ καὶ ἔλαβον τὸν οἶνον καὶ ἔδωκα τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἕτερος ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Neh 2:1 Factum est autem in mense Nisan, anno vigesimo Artaxerxis regis: et vinum erat ante eum, et levavi vinum, et dedi regi: et eram quasi languidus ante faciem ejus.(vulgate) Nehemiah 2:1 Nowe in the moneth Nisan in the twentieth yere of king Artahshashte, the wine stoode before him, and I tooke vp the wine, and gaue it vnto the King. nowe I was not before time sad in his presence.(Geneva) Neh 2:1 Im Monat Nisan des zwanzigsten Jahre des Königs Arthahsastha, da Wein vor ihm stand, hob ich den Wein auf und gab dem König; und ich sah traurig vor ihm.(dhs) Neh 2:1 And it came to pass in the month of Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, that I took the wine and gave it to the king.
