(nasb) Ecl 10:7 I have seen servants on horses, While princes walk on the ground like servants. (nkjv) Ecl 10:7 Ich sah Knechte auf Rossen, und Fürsten zu Fuß gehen wie Knechte.(dhs) Ecl 10:7 εἶδον δούλους ἐφ᾽ ἵππους καὶ ἄρχοντας πορευομένους ὡς δούλους ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:8 ============ Ecl 10:8 He who digs a pit may fall into it, and a serpent may bite him who breaks through a wall. (nasb) Ecl 10:8 He who digs a pit will fall into it, And whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent. (nkjv) Ecl 10:8 Aber wer eine Grube macht, der wird selbst hineinfallen; und wer den Zaun zerreißt, den wird eine Schlange stechen.(dhs) Ecl 10:8 ὁ ὀρύσσων βόθρον ἐν αὐτῷ ἐμπεσεῖται καὶ καθαιροῦντα φραγμόν δήξεται αὐτὸν ὄφις (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:9 ============ Ecl 10:9 He who quarries stones may be hurt by them, and he who splits logs may be endangered by them. (nasb) Ecl 10:9 He who quarries stones may be hurt by them, And he who splits wood may be endangered by it. (nkjv) Ecl 10:9 Wer Steine wegwälzt, der wird Mühe damit haben; und wer Holz spaltet, der wird davon verletzt werden.(dhs) Ecl 10:9 ἐξαίρων λίθους διαπονηθήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς σχίζων ξύλα κινδυνεύσει ἐν αὐτοῖς (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:10 ============ Ecl 10:10 If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength. Wisdom has the advantage of giving success. (nasb) Ecl 10:10 If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success. (nkjv) Ecl 10:10 Wenn ein Eisen stumpf wird und an der Schneide ungeschliffen bleibt, muß man's mit Macht wieder schärfen; also folgt auch Weisheit dem Fleiß.(dhs) Ecl 10:10 ἐὰν ἐκπέσῃ τὸ σιδήριον καὶ αὐτὸς πρόσωπον ἐτάραξεν καὶ δυνάμεις δυναμώσει καὶ περισσεία τοῦ ἀνδρείου σοφία (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:11 ============ Ecl 10:11 If the serpent bites before being charmed, there is no profit for the charmer. (nkjv) Ecl 10:16 Weh dir, Land, dessen König ein Kind ist, und dessen Fürsten in der Frühe speisen!(dhs) Ecl 10:16 οὐαί σοι πόλις ἧς ὁ βασιλεύς σου νεώτερος καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντές σου ἐν πρωίᾳ ἐσθίουσιν (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:17 ============ Ecl 10:17 Blessed are you, O land, whose king is of nobility and whose princes eat at the appropriate time--for strength and not for drunkenness. (nasb) Ecl 10:17 Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles, And your princes feast at the proper time-- For strength and not for drunkenness! (nkjv) Ecl 10:17 Wohl dir, Land, dessen König edel ist, und dessen Fürsten zu rechter Zeit speisen, zur Stärke und nicht zur Lust!(dhs) Ecl 10:17 μακαρία σύ γῆ ἧς ὁ βασιλεύς σου υἱὸς ἐλευθέρων καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντές σου πρὸς καιρὸν φάγονται ἐν δυνάμει καὶ οὐκ αἰσχυνθήσονται (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:18 ============ Ecl 10:18 Through indolence the rafters sag, and through slackness the house leaks. (nasb) Ecl 10:18 Because of laziness the building decays, And through idleness of hands the house leaks. (nkjv) Ecl 10:18 Denn durch Faulheit sinken die Balken, und durch lässige Hände wird das Haus triefend.(dhs) Ecl 10:18 ἐν ὀκνηρίαις ταπεινωθήσεται ἡ δόκωσις καὶ ἐν ἀργίᾳ χειρῶν στάξει ἡ οἰκία (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:19 ============ Ecl 10:19 Men prepare a meal for enjoyment, and wine makes life merry, and money is the answer to everything. (nasb) Ecl 10:19 A feast is made for laughter, And wine makes merry; But money answers everything. (nkjv) Ecl 10:19 Das macht, sie halten Mahlzeiten, um zu lachen, und der Wein muß die Lebendigen erfreuen, und das Geld muß ihnen alles zuwege bringen.(dhs) Ecl 10:19 εἰς γέλωτα ποιοῦσιν ἄρτον καὶ οἶνος εὐφραίνει ζῶντας καὶ τοῦ ἀργυρίου ἐπακούσεται σὺν τὰ πάντα (lxx) ======= Ecclesiastes 10:20 ============ Ecl 10:20 Furthermore, in your bedchamber do not curse a king, and in your sleeping rooms do not curse a rich man, for a bird of the heavens will carry the sound and the winged creature will make the matter known. (nasb) Ecl 10:20 Do not curse the king, even in your thought; Do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom; For a bird of the air may carry your voice, And a bird in flight may tell the matter.
