Thus the name of the place was called Hormah.(nasb) ======= Numbers 21:4 ============ Num 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.(KJV) Numbers 21:4 After, they departed from the mount Hor by the way of the red Sea, to compasse the land of Edom: and the people were sore grieued because of the way.(Geneva) Nombres 21:4 Ils partirent de la montagne de Hor par le chemin de la mer Rouge, pour contourner le pays d'Edom. Le peuple s'impatienta en route,(FR) 4 ׃21 וַיִּסְע֞וּ מֵהֹ֤ר הָהָר֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יַם־ס֔וּף לִסְבֹ֖ב אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ אֱד֑וֹם וַתִּקְצַ֥ר נֶֽפֶשׁ־הָעָ֖ם בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ Numbers Num 21:4 Then they set out from Mount Hor by the way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the people became impatient because of the journey.(nasb) ======= Numbers 21:5 ============ Num 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.(KJV) Numbers 21:5 And the people spake against God and against Moses, saying, Wherefore haue ye brought vs out of Egypt, to die in the wildernesse? for here is neither bread nor water, & our soule lotheth this light bread.(Geneva) Nombres 21:5 et parla contre Dieu et contre Moïse: Pourquoi nous avez-vous fait monter hors d'Egypte, pour que nous mourions dans le désert? car il n'y a point de pain, et il n'y a point d'eau, et notre âme est dégoûtée de cette misérable nourriture.(FR) 5 ׃21 וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר הָעָ֗ם בֵּֽאלֹהִים֮ וּבְמֹשֶׁה֒ לָמָ֤ה הֶֽעֱלִיתֻ֙נוּ֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם לָמ֖וּת בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר כִּ֣י אֵ֥ין לֶ֙חֶם֙ וְאֵ֣ין מַ֔יִם וְנַפְשֵׁ֣נוּ קָ֔צָה בַּלֶּ֖חֶם הַקְּלֹקֵֽל׃ Numbers Num 21:5 The people spoke against God and Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this miserable food." And Moses prayed for the people.(KJV) Numbers 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses & said, We haue sinned: for wee haue spoken against the Lord, and against thee: pray to the Lorde, that he take away the serpents from vs: and Moses prayed for the people.(Geneva) Nombres 21:7 Le peuple vint à Moïse, et dit: Nous avons péché, car nous avons parlé contre l'Eternel et contre toi. And Moses interceded for the people.(nasb) ======= Numbers 21:8 ============ Num 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.(KJV) Numbers 21:8 And the Lord said vnto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it vp for a signe, that as many as are bitten, may looke vpon it, and liue.(Geneva) Nombres 21:8 L'Eternel dit à Moïse: Fais-toi un serpent brûlant, et place-le sur une perche; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live."(nasb) ======= Numbers 21:9 ============ Num 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.(KJV) Numbers 21:9 So Moses made a serpent of brasse, and set it vp for a signe: and when a serpent had bitten a man, then he looked to the serpent of brasse, and liued.(Geneva) Nombres 21:9 Moïse fit un serpent d'airain, et le plaça sur une perche; We will not turn off into field or vineyard; we will not drink water from wells. We will go by the king's highway until we have passed through your border."(nasb) ======= Numbers 21:23 ============ Num 21:23 And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.(KJV) Numbers 21:23 But Sihon gaue Israel no licence to passe through his countrey, but Sihon assembled all his people, and went out against Israel into the wildernesse: and he came to Iahoz, and fought against Israel.(Geneva) Nombres 21:23 Sihon n'accorda point à Israël le passage sur son territoire; il rassembla tout son peuple, et sortit à la rencontre d'Israël, dans le désert; il vint à Jahats, et combattit Israël.(FR) 23 ׃21 וְלֹא־נָתַ֨ן סִיחֹ֣ן אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ עֲבֹ֣ר בִּגְבֻלוֹ֒ וַיֶּאֱסֹ֨ף סִיחֹ֜ן אֶת־כָּל־עַמּ֗וֹ וַיֵּצֵ֞א לִקְרַ֤את יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ הַמִּדְבָּ֔רָה וַיָּבֹ֖א יָ֑הְצָה וַיִּלָּ֖חֶם בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Numbers Num 21:23 But Sihon would not permit Israel to pass through his border.
