And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.(KJV) Numbers 22:4 Therfore Moab said vnto the Elders of Midian, Nowe shall this multitude licke vp all that are round about vs, as an oxe licketh vp ye grasse of the fielde: and Balak the sonne of Zippor was King of the Moabites at that time.(Geneva) Nombres 22:4 Moab dit aux anciens de Madian: Cette multitude va dévorer tout ce qui nous entoure, comme le boeuf broute la verdure des champs. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time.(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:5 ============ Num 22:5 He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:(KJV) Numbers 22:5 Hee sent messengers therefore vnto Balaam the sonne of Beor to Pethor (which is by the riuer of the lande of the children of his folke) to call him, saying, Beholde, there is a people come out of Egypt, which couer the face of the earth, and lye ouer against me.(Geneva) Nombres 22:5 Il envoya des messagers auprès de Balaam, fils de Beor, à Pethor sur le fleuve, dans le pays des fils de son peuple, afin de l'appeler et de lui dire: Voici, un peuple est sorti d'Egypte, il couvre la surface de la terre, et il habite vis-à-vis de moi.(FR) 5 ׃22 וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח מַלְאָכִ֜ים אֶל־בִּלְעָ֣ם בֶּן־בְּע֗וֹר פְּ֠תוֹרָה אֲשֶׁ֧ר עַל־הַנָּהָ֛ר אֶ֥רֶץ בְּנֵי־עַמּ֖וֹ לִקְרֹא־ל֑וֹ לֵאמֹ֗ר הִ֠נֵּה עַ֣ם יָצָ֤א מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙ הִנֵּ֤ה כִסָּה֙ אֶת־עֵ֣ין הָאָ֔רֶץ וְה֥וּא יֹשֵׁ֖ב מִמֻּלִֽי׃ Numbers Num 22:5 So he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, at Pethor, which is near the River, in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying, "Behold, a people came out of Egypt; behold, they cover the surface of the land, and they are living opposite me.(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:6 ============ Num 22:6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.(KJV) Numbers 22:6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, and curse me this people (for they are stronger then I) so it may be that I shall be able to smite them, and to driue them out of the land: for I knowe that hee, whome thou blessest, is blessed, and he whom thou cursest, shall be cursed.(Geneva) Nombres 22:6 Viens, je te prie, maudis-moi ce peuple, car il est plus puissant que moi; peut-être ainsi pourrai-je le battre et le chasserai-je du pays, car je sais que celui que tu bénis est béni, et que celui que tu maudis est maudit.(FR) 6 ׃22 וְעַתָּה֩ לְכָה־נָּ֨א אָֽרָה־לִּ֜י אֶת־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֗ה כִּֽי־עָצ֥וּם הוּא֙ מִמֶּ֔נִּי אוּלַ֤י אוּכַל֙ נַכֶּה־בּ֔וֹ וַאֲגָרְשֶׁ֖נּוּ מִן־הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּ֣י יָדַ֗עְתִּי אֵ֤ת אֲשֶׁר־תְּבָרֵךְ֙ מְבֹרָ֔ךְ וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּאֹ֖ר יוּאָֽר׃ Numbers Num 22:6 Now, therefore, please come, curse this people for me since they are too mighty for me; perhaps I may be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed."(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:7 ============ Num 22:7 And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak.(KJV) Numbers 22:7 And the Elders of Moab, and the Elders of Midian departed, hauing the reward of the soothsaying in their hande, and they came vnto Balaam, and tolde him the wordes of Balak.(Geneva) Nombres 22:7 Les anciens de Moab et les anciens de Madian partirent, ayant avec eux des présents pour le devin. Ils arrivèrent auprès de Balaam, et lui rapportèrent les paroles de Balak.(FR) 7 ׃22 וַיֵּ֨לְכ֜וּ זִקְנֵ֤י מוֹאָב֙ וְזִקְנֵ֣י מִדְיָ֔ן וּקְסָמִ֖ים בְּיָדָ֑ם וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ אֶל־בִּלְעָ֔ם וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ אֵלָ֖יו דִּבְרֵ֥י בָלָֽק׃ Numbers Num 22:7 So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the fees for divination in their hand; and they came to Balaam and repeated Balak's words to him.(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:8 ============ Num 22:8 And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.(KJV) Numbers 22:8 Who answered them, Tary here this night, and I will giue you an answere, as the Lorde shall say vnto mee. Et les chefs de Moab restèrent chez Balaam.(FR) 8 ׃22 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם לִ֤ינוּ פֹה֙ הַלַּ֔יְלָה וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֤י אֶתְכֶם֙ דָּבָ֔ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר יְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י וַיֵּשְׁב֥וּ שָׂרֵֽי־מוֹאָ֖ב עִם־בִּלְעָֽם׃ Numbers Num 22:8 He said to them, "Spend the night here, and I will bring word back to you as the Lord may speak to me." And the leaders of Moab stayed with Balaam.(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:9 ============ Num 22:9 And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee?(KJV) Numbers 22:9 Then God came vnto Balaam, and sayde, What men are these with thee?(Geneva) Nombres 22:9 Dieu vint à Balaam, et dit: Qui sont ces hommes que tu as chez toi?(FR) 9 ׃22 וַיָּבֹ֥א אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶל־בִּלְעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מִ֛י הָאֲנָשִׁ֥ים הָאֵ֖[t]לֶּה עִמָּֽךְ׃ Numbers Num 22:9 Then God came to Balaam and said, "Who are these men with you?"(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:10 ============ Num 22:10 And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying,(KJV) Numbers 22:10 And Baalam said vnto God, Balak ye sonne of Zippor, king of Moab hath set vnto me, saying,(Geneva) Nombres 22:10 Balaam répondit à Dieu: Balak, fils de Tsippor, roi de Moab, les a envoyés pour me dire:(FR) 10 ׃22 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר בִּלְעָ֖ם אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים בָּלָ֧ק בֶּן־צִפֹּ֛ר מֶ֥לֶךְ מוֹאָ֖ב שָׁלַ֥ח אֵלָֽי׃ Numbers Num 22:10 Balaam said to God, "Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent word to me,(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:11 ============ Num 22:11 Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out.(KJV) Numbers 22:11 Beholde, there is a people come out of Egypt and couereth the face of the earth: come nowe, curse them for my sake: so it may be that I shalbe able to ouercome them in battell, and to driue them out.(Geneva) Nombres 22:11 Voici, un peuple est sorti d'Egypte, et il couvre la surface de la terre; now come, curse them for me; perhaps I may be able to fight against them and drive them out.'"(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:12 ============ Num 22:12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.(KJV) Numbers 22:12 And God said vnto Balaam, Go not thou with them, neither curse the people, for they are blessed.(Geneva) Nombres 22:12 Dieu dit à Balaam: Tu n'iras point avec eux; viens, je te prie, maudis-moi ce peuple.(FR) 17 ׃22 כִּֽי־כַבֵּ֤ד אֲכַבֶּדְךָ֙ מְאֹ֔ד וְכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־תֹּאמַ֥ר אֵלַ֖י אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֑ה וּלְכָה־נָּא֙ קָֽבָה־לִּ֔י אֵ֖ת הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּֽה׃ Numbers Num 22:17 for I will indeed honor you richly, and I will do whatever you say to me. Please come then, curse this people for me.'"(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:18 ============ Num 22:18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.(KJV) Numbers 22:18 And Balaam answered, and sayde vnto the seruants of Balak, If Balak woulde giue me his house full of siluer and golde, I can not goe beyonde the worde of the Lorde my God, to doe lesse or more.(Geneva) Nombres 22:18 Balaam répondit et dit aux serviteurs de Balak: Quand Balak me donnerait sa maison pleine d'argent et d'or, je ne pourrais faire aucune chose, ni petite ni grande, contre l'ordre de l'Eternel, mon Dieu.(FR) 18 ׃22 וַיַּ֣עַן בִּלְעָ֗ם וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־עַבְדֵ֣י בָלָ֔ק אִם־יִתֶּן־לִ֥י בָלָ֛ק מְלֹ֥א בֵית֖וֹ כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֑ב לֹ֣א אוּכַ֗ל לַעֲבֹר֙ אֶת־פִּי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔י לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת קְטַנָּ֖ה א֥וֹ גְדוֹלָֽה׃ Numbers Num 22:18 Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, "Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything, either small or great, contrary to the command of the Lord my God.(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:19 ============ Num 22:19 Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.(KJV) Numbers 22:19 But nowe, I pray you, tary here this night, that I may wit, what the Lorde will say vnto mee more.(Geneva) Nombres 22:19 Maintenant, je vous prie, restez ici cette nuit, et je saurai ce que l'Eternel me dira encore.(FR) 19 ׃22 וְעַתָּ֗ה שְׁב֨וּ נָ֥א בָזֶ֛ה גַּם־אַתֶּ֖ם הַלָּ֑יְלָה וְאֵ֣דְעָ֔ה מַה־יֹּסֵ֥ף יְהוָ֖ה דַּבֵּ֥ר עִמִּֽי׃ Numbers Num 22:19 Now please, you also stay here tonight, and I will find out what else the Lord will speak to me."(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:20 ============ Num 22:20 And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.(KJV) Numbers 22:20 And God came vnto Balaam by night, and sayd vnto him, If the men come to call thee, rise vp, and goe with them: but onely what thing I say vnto thee, that shalt thou doe.(Geneva) Nombres 22:20 Dieu vint à Balaam pendant la nuit, et lui dit: Puisque ces hommes sont venus pour t'appeler, lève-toi, va avec eux; mais tu feras ce que je te dirai.(FR) 20 ׃22 וַיָּבֹ֨א אֱלֹהִ֥ים ׀ אֶל־בִּלְעָם֮ לַיְלָה֒ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ אִם־לִקְרֹ֤א לְךָ֙ בָּ֣אוּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֔ים ק֖וּם לֵ֣ךְ אִתָּ֑ם וְאַ֗ךְ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר־אֲדַבֵּ֥ר אֵלֶ֖יךָ אֹת֥וֹ תַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ Numbers Num 22:20 God came to Balaam at night and said to him, "If the men have come to call you, rise up and go with them; but only the word which I speak to you shall you do."(nasb) ======= Numbers 22:21 ============ Num 22:21 And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.(KJV) Numbers 22:21 So Balaam rose vp early, and sadled his asse, and went with the princes of Moab.(Geneva) Nombres 22:21 Balaam se leva le matin, sella son ânesse, et partit avec les chefs de Moab.(FR) 21 ׃22 וַיָּ֤קָם בִּלְעָם֙ בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וַֽיַּחֲבֹ֖שׁ אֶת־אֲתֹנ֑וֹ וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ עִם־שָׂרֵ֥י מוֹאָֽב׃ Numbers Num 22:21 So Balaam arose in the morning, and saddled his donkey and went with the leaders of Moab. (nasb) ======= Numbers 22:22 ============ Num 22:22 And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.(KJV) Numbers 22:22 And ye wrath of God was kindled, because he went: and the Angel of the Lord stood in the way to be against him, as he rode vpon his asse, & his two seruants were with him.(Geneva) Nombres 22:22 La colère de Dieu s'enflamma, parce qu'il était parti; et l'ange de l'Eternel se plaça sur le chemin, pour lui résister. Why did you not come to me?
