Today's Date: ======= Joshua 4:1 ============ Jos 4:1 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,(KJV) Joshua 4:1 And when all the people were wholy gone ouer Iorden, (after the Lord had spoken vnto Ioshua, saying,(Geneva) Josué 4:1 Lorsque toute la nation eut achevé de passer le Jourdain, l'Eternel dit à Josué:(FR) 1 ׃4 וַיְהִי֙ כַּאֲשֶׁר־תַּ֣מּוּ כָל־הַגּ֔וֹי לַעֲב֖וֹר אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן פ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ לֵאמֹֽר׃ Joshua Jos 4:1 Now when all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:2 ============ Jos 4:2 Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,(KJV) Joshua 4:2 Take you twelue me out of the people, out of euery tribe a man,(Geneva) Josué 4:2 Prenez douze hommes parmi le peuple, un homme de chaque tribu.(FR) 2 ׃4 קְח֤וּ לָכֶם֙ מִן־הָעָ֔ם שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר אֲנָשִׁ֑ים אִישׁ־אֶחָ֥ד אִישׁ־אֶחָ֖ד מִשָּֽׁבֶט׃ Joshua Jos 4:2 "Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from each tribe,(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:3 ============ Jos 4:3 And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.(KJV) Joshua 4:3 And command you them, saying, Take you hence out of the middes of Iorden, out of the place where the Priestes stoode in a readinesse, twelue stones, which ye shall take away with you, and leaue them in the lodging where you shall lodge this night)(Geneva) Josué 4:3 Donnez-leur cet ordre: Enlevez d'ici, du milieu du Jourdain, de la place où les sacrificateurs se sont arrêtés de pied ferme, douze pierres, que vous emporterez avec vous, et que vous déposerez dans le lieu où vous passerez cette nuit.(FR) 3 ׃4 וְצַוּ֣וּ אוֹתָם֮ לֵאמֹר֒ שְׂאֽוּ־לָכֶ֨ם מִזֶּ֜ה מִתּ֣וֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן מִמַּצַּב֙ רַגְלֵ֣י הַכֹּהֲנִ֔ים הָכִ֖ין שְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה אֲבָנִ֑ים וְהַעֲבַרְתֶּ֤ם אוֹתָם֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם וְהִנַּחְתֶּ֣ם אוֹתָ֔ם בַּמָּל֕וֹן אֲשֶׁר־תָּלִ֥ינוּ ב֖וֹ הַלָּֽיְלָה׃ ס Joshua Jos 4:3 and command them, saying, 'Take up for yourselves twelve stones from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests' feet are standing firm, and carry them over with you and lay them down in the lodging place where you will lodge tonight.'"(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:4 ============ Jos 4:4 Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:(KJV) Joshua 4:4 Then Ioshua called the twelue men, whome he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of euery tribe a man,(Geneva) Josué 4:4 Josué appela les douze hommes qu'il choisit parmi les enfants d'Israël, un homme de chaque tribu.(FR) 4 ׃4 וַיִּקְרָ֣א יְהוֹשֻׁ֗עַ אֶל־שְׁנֵ֤ים הֶֽעָשָׂר֙ אִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֵכִ֖ין מִבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִישׁ־אֶחָ֥ד אִישׁ־אֶחָ֖ד מִשָּֽׁבֶט׃ Joshua Jos 4:4 So Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the sons of Israel, one man from each tribe;(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:5 ============ Jos 4:5 And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:(KJV) Joshua 4:5 And Ioshua said vnto them, Go ouer before the Arke of the Lorde your God, euen through the middes of Iorden, and take vp euery man of you a stone vpon his shoulder acccording vnto the nomber of the tribes of the children of Israel,(Geneva) Josué 4:5 Il leur dit: Passez devant l'arche de l'Eternel, votre Dieu, au milieu du Jourdain, et que chacun de vous charge une pierre sur son épaule, selon le nombre des tribus des enfants d'Israël,(FR) 5 ׃4 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ עִ֠בְרוּ לִפְנֵ֨י אֲר֧וֹן יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם אֶל־תּ֣וֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְהָרִ֨ימוּ לָכֶ֜ם אִ֣ישׁ אֶ֤בֶן אַחַת֙ עַל־שִׁכְמ֔וֹ לְמִסְפַּ֖ר שִׁבְטֵ֥י בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Joshua Jos 4:5 and Joshua said to them, "Cross again to the ark of the Lord your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:6 ============ Jos 4:6 That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?(KJV) Joshua 4:6 That this may bee a signe among you, that whe your children shal aske their fathers in time to come, saying, What meane you by these stones?(Geneva) Josué 4:6 afin que cela soit un signe au milieu de vous. Lorsque vos enfants demanderont un jour: Que signifient pour vous ces pierres?(FR) 6 ׃4 לְמַ֗עַן תִּֽהְיֶ֛ה זֹ֥את א֖וֹת בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑ם כִּֽי־יִשְׁאָל֨וּן בְּנֵיכֶ֤ם מָחָר֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר מָ֛ה הָאֲבָנִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה לָכֶֽם׃ Joshua Jos 4:6 Let this be a sign among you, so that when your children ask later, saying, 'What do these stones mean to you?'(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:7 ============ Jos 4:7 Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.(KJV) Joshua 4:7 Then ye may answere them, That the waters of Iorden were cut off before the Arke of the couenant of the Lord: for when it passed through Iorden, the waters of Iorden were cut off: therefore these stones are a memoriall vnto the children of Israel for euer.(Geneva) Josué 4:7 vous leur direz: Les eaux du Jourdain ont été coupées devant l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel; lorsqu'elle passa le Jourdain, les eaux du Jourdain ont été coupées, et ces pierres seront à jamais un souvenir pour les enfants d'Israël.(FR) 7 ׃4 וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֣ם לָהֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִכְרְת֜וּ מֵימֵ֤י הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ מִפְּנֵי֙ אֲר֣וֹן בְּרִית־יְהוָ֔ה בְּעָבְרוֹ֙ בַּיַּרְדֵּ֔ן נִכְרְת֖וּ מֵ֣י הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְ֠הָיוּ הָאֲבָנִ֨ים הָאֵ֧לֶּה לְזִכָּר֛וֹן לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ Joshua Jos 4:7 then you shall say to them, 'Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off.' So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever."(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:8 ============ Jos 4:8 And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.(KJV) Joshua 4:8 Then ye children of Israel did euen so as Ioshua had commanded, & tooke vp twelue stones out of the mids of Iorden as ye Lord had said vnto Ioshua, according to the nomber of the tribes of the children of Israel, & caried them away with them vnto the lodging, & layd them down there.(Geneva) Josué 4:8 Les enfants d'Israël firent ce que Josué leur avait ordonné. Ils enlevèrent douze pierres du milieu du Jourdain, comme l'Eternel l'avait dit à Josué, selon le nombre des tribus des enfants d'Israël, ils les emportèrent avec eux, et les déposèrent dans le lieu où ils devaient passer la nuit.(FR) 8 ׃4 וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵ֣ן בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֘ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֣ה יְהוֹשֻׁעַ֒ וַיִּשְׂא֡וּ שְׁתֵּֽי־עֶשְׂרֵ֨ה אֲבָנִ֜ים מִתּ֣וֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ לְמִסְפַּ֖ר שִׁבְטֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיַּעֲבִר֤וּם עִמָּם֙ אֶל־הַמָּל֔וֹן וַיַּנִּח֖וּם שָֽׁם׃ Joshua Jos 4:8 Thus the sons of Israel did as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, just as the Lord spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel; and they carried them over with them to the lodging place and put them down there.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:9 ============ Jos 4:9 And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.(KJV) Joshua 4:9 And Ioshua set vp twelue stones in the middes of Iorden, in the place where the feete of the Priests, which bare the Arke of the couenant stood, & there haue they cotinued vnto this day.(Geneva) Josué 4:9 Josué dressa aussi douze pierres au milieu du Jourdain, à la place où s'étaient arrêtés les pieds des sacrificateurs qui portaient l'arche de l'alliance; et elles y sont restées jusqu'à ce jour.(FR) 9 ׃4 וּשְׁתֵּ֧ים עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה אֲבָנִ֗ים הֵקִ֣ים יְהוֹשֻׁעַ֮ בְּת֣וֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּן֒ תַּ֗חַת מַצַּב֙ רַגְלֵ֣י הַכֹּהֲנִ֔ים נֹשְׂאֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן הַבְּרִ֑ית וַיִּ֣הְיוּ שָׁ֔ם עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ Joshua Jos 4:9 Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan at the place where the feet of the priests who carried the ark of the covenant were standing, and they are there to this day.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:10 ============ Jos 4:10 For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.(KJV) Joshua 4:10 So the Priests, which bare ye Arke, stoode in the middes of Iorden, vntill euery thing was finished that ye Lorde had comanded Ioshua to say vnto the people, according to all that Moses charged Ioshua: then the people hasted & went ouer.(Geneva) Josué 4:10 Les sacrificateurs qui portaient l'arche se tinrent au milieu du Jourdain jusqu'à l'entière exécution de ce que l'Eternel avait ordonné à Josué de dire au peuple, selon tout ce que Moïse avait prescrit à Josué. Et le peuple se hâta de passer.(FR) 10 ׃4 וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֞ים נֹשְׂאֵ֣י הָאָר֗וֹן עֹמְדִים֮ בְּת֣וֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּן֒ עַ֣ד תֹּ֣ם כָּֽל־הַ֠דָּבָר אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֨ה יְהוָ֤ה אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ לְדַבֵּ֣ר אֶל־הָעָ֔ם כְּכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ וַיְמַהֲר֥וּ הָעָ֖ם וֽ͏ַיַּעֲבֹֽרוּ׃ Joshua Jos 4:10 For the priests who carried the ark were standing in the middle of the Jordan until everything was completed that the Lord had commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua. And the people hurried and crossed;(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:11 ============ Jos 4:11 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.(KJV) Joshua 4:11 When all the people were cleane passed ouer, the Arke of the Lord went ouer also, and the Priests before the people.(Geneva) Josué 4:11 Lorsque וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים לִפְנֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃ Joshua Jos 4:11 and when all the people had finished crossing, the ark of the Lord and the priests crossed before the people.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:12 ============ Jos 4:12 And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:(KJV) Joshua 4:12 And the sonnes of Reuben, & the sonnes of Gad, and halfe the tribe of Manasseh went ouer before the children of Israel armed, as Moses had charged them.(Geneva) Josué 4:12 Les fils de Ruben, les fils de Gad, et la לִפְנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר דִּבֶּ֥ר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מֹשֶֽׁה׃ Joshua Jos 4:12 The sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over in battle array before the sons of Israel, just as Moses had spoken to them;(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:13 ============ Jos 4:13 About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.(KJV) Joshua 4:13 Euen fourty thousand prepared for warre, went before the Lord vnto battel, into ye plaine of Iericho.(Geneva) Josué 4:13 Environ quarante mille hommes, équipés pour la guerre Joshua Jos 4:13 about 40,000 equipped for war, crossed for battle before the Lord to the desert plains of Jericho.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:14 ============ Jos 4:14 On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.(KJV) Joshua 4:14 That day the Lord magnified Ioshua in the sight of all Israel, and they feared him, as the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; so that they revered him, just as they had revered Moses all the days of his life.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:15 ============ Jos 4:15 And the LORD the Lord said to Joshua,(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:16 ============ Jos 4:16 Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.(KJV) Joshua 4:16 Commande the Priests אֶת־הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים נֹשְׂאֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן הָעֵד֑וּת וְיַעֲל֖וּ מִן־הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ Joshua Jos 4:16 "Command the priests who carry the ark of the testimony that they come up from the Jordan."(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:17 ============ Jos 4:17 Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan.(KJV) Joshua 4:17 Ioshua therefore commanded the Priests, saying, Come ye vp out of commanded the priests, saying, "Come up from the Jordan."(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:18 ============ Jos 4:18 And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.(KJV) Joshua 4:18 And when the Priests that bare the Arke of the couenant of ye Lorde were come vp out of the middes of Iorden, and assoone as the soles of the Priests feete were set on the dry land, the waters of Iorde returned vnto their place, & flowed ouer all the bankes thereof, as they did before.(Geneva) Josué 4:18 Lorsque les sacrificateurs qui portaient l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel furent sortis du milieu du Jourdain, et que la plante de leurs pieds se posa sur le sec, les eaux du Jourdain retournèrent à leur place, et se répandirent comme auparavant sur tous ses bords.(FR) 18 ׃4 וַ֠יְהִי *בעלות **כַּעֲל֨וֹת הַכֹּהֲנִ֜ים נֹשְׂאֵ֨י אֲר֤וֹן בְּרִית־יְהוָה֙ מִתּ֣וֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן נִתְּק֗וּ כַּפּוֹת֙ רַגְלֵ֣י הַכֹּהֲנִ֔ים אֶ֖ל הֶחָרָבָ֑ה וַיָּשֻׁ֤בוּ מֵֽי־הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ לִמְקוֹמָ֔ם וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ כִתְמוֹל־שִׁלְשׁ֖וֹם עַל־כָּל־גְּדוֹתָֽיו׃ Joshua Jos 4:18 It came about when the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord had come up from the middle of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up to the dry ground, that the waters of the Jordan returned to their place, and went over all its banks as before.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:19 ============ Jos 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.(KJV) Joshua 4:19 So the people came vp out of Iorden the tenth day of the first moneth, and pitched in Gilgal, in the Eastside of Iericho.(Geneva) Josué 4:19 Le peuple sortit du Jourdain le dixième jour du premier mois, et il campa à the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth of the first month and camped at Gilgal on the eastern edge of Jericho.(nasb) ======= Joshua 4:20 ============ Jos 4:20 And those twelve stones, which לֵאמֹ֑ר אֲשֶׁר֩ יִשְׁאָל֨וּן בְּנֵיכֶ֤ם מָחָר֙ אֶת־אֲבוֹתָ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר מָ֖ה הָאֲבָנִ֥ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ Joshua Jos 4:21 He said to the sons of Israel, "When your children ask their fathers in time to come,
