And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.(KJV) Judges 7:3 Now therefore proclaime in the audience of the people, and say, Who so is timerous or fearefull, let him returne, and depart earely from mount Gilead; there returned of the people which were at mount Gilead, two and twentie thousand: so ten thousand remayned.(Geneva) Juges 7:3 Publie donc ceci aux oreilles du peuple: Que celui qui est craintif et qui a peur s'en retourne et s'éloigne de la montagne de Galaad. Vingt-deux mille hommes parmi le peuple s'en retournèrent, et il en resta dix mille.(FR) 3 ׃7 וְעַתָּ֗ה קְרָ֨א נָ֜א בְּאָזְנֵ֤י הָעָם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר מִֽי־יָרֵ֣א וְחָרֵ֔ד יָשֹׁ֥ב וְיִצְפֹּ֖ר מֵהַ֣ר הַגִּלְעָ֑ד וַיָּ֣שָׁב מִן־הָעָ֗ם עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ אֶ֔לֶף וַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת אֲלָפִ֖ים נִשְׁאָֽרוּ׃ ס Judges Jdg 7:3 Now therefore come, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, 'Whoever is afraid and trembling, let him return and depart from Mount Gilead.'" So 22,000 people returned, but 10,000 remained.(nasb) ======= Judges 7:4 ============ Jdg 7:4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.(KJV) Judges 7:4 And the Lord said vnto Gideon, The people are yet too many: bring them downe vnto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and of whome I say vnto thee, This man shal goe with thee, the same shal go with thee: and of whomsoeuer I say vnto thee, This man shal not goe with thee, the same shal not go.(Geneva) Juges 7:4 L'Eternel dit à Gédéon: Le peuple est encore trop nombreux. And the Lord said to Gideon, "You shall separate everyone who laps the water with his tongue as a dog laps, as well as everyone who kneels to drink."(nasb) ======= Judges 7:6 ============ Jdg 7:6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.(KJV) Judges 7:6 And the nomber of them that lapped by putting their handes to their mouthes, were three hundreth men: but all the remnant of the people kneeled downe vpo their knees to drinke water.(Geneva) Juges 7:6 Ceux qui lapèrent l'eau en la portant à la bouche avec leur main furent au nombre de trois cents hommes, et tout le reste du peuple se mit à genoux pour boire.(FR) 6 ׃7 וַיְהִ֗י מִסְפַּ֞ר הַֽמֲלַקְקִ֤ים בְּיָדָם֙ אֶל־פִּיהֶ֔ם שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת אִ֑ישׁ וְכֹל֙ יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם כָּרְע֥וּ עַל־בִּרְכֵיהֶ֖ם לִשְׁתּ֥וֹת מָֽיִם׃ ס Judges Jdg 7:6 Now the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was 300 men; but all the rest of the people kneeled to drink water.(nasb) ======= Judges 7:7 ============ Jdg 7:7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.(KJV) Judges 7:7 Then the Lorde sayde vnto Gideon, By these three hundreth men that lapped, will I saue you, and deliuer the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go euery man vnto his place.(Geneva) Juges 7:7 Et l'Eternel dit à Gédéon: C'est par les trois cents hommes qui ont lapé, que je vous sauverai et que je livrerai Madian entre tes mains. Que tout le reste du peuple s'en aille chacun chez soi.(FR) 7 ׃7 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־גִּדְע֗וֹן בִּשְׁלֹשׁ֩ מֵא֨וֹת הָאִ֤ישׁ הַֽמֲלַקְקִים֙ אוֹשִׁ֣יעַ אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְנָתַתִּ֥י אֶת־מִדְיָ֖ן בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ וְכָל־הָעָ֔ם יֵלְכ֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ לִמְקֹמֽוֹ׃ Judges Jdg 7:7 The Lord said to Gideon, "I will deliver you with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other people go, each man to his home."(nasb) ======= Judges 7:8 ============ Jdg 7:8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.(KJV) Judges 7:8 So the people tooke vitailes with them, & their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel, euery man vnto his tent, and reteined the three hundreth men: and the hoste of Midian was beneath him in a valley.(Geneva) Juges 7:8 On prit les vivres du peuple et ses trompettes. Puis Gédéon renvoya tous les hommes d'Israël chacun dans sa tente, et il retint les trois cents hommes. And Gideon sent all the other men of Israel, each to his tent, but retained the 300 men; and the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.(nasb) ======= Judges 7:9 ============ Jdg 7:9 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.(KJV) Judges 7:9 And the same night the Lord sayde vnto him, Arise, get thee downe vnto the hoste: for I haue deliuered it into thine hand.(Geneva) Juges 7:9 L'Eternel dit à Gédéon pendant la nuit: Lève-toi, descends au camp, car je l'ai livré entre tes mains.(FR) 9 ׃7 וֽ͏ַיְהִי֙ בַּלַּ֣יְלָה הַה֔וּא וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ יְהוָ֔ה ק֖וּם רֵ֣ד בַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה כִּ֥י נְתַתִּ֖יו בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃ Judges Jdg 7:9 Now the same night it came about that the Lord said to him, "Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hands.(nasb) ======= Judges 7:10 ============ Jdg 7:10 But if thou fear to go down, go thou with Phurah thy servant down to the host:(KJV) Judges 7:10 But if thou feare to go downe, then go thou, and Phurah thy seruant downe to the hoste,(Geneva) Juges 7:10 Si tu crains de descendre, descends-y avec Pura, ton serviteur.(FR) 10 ׃7 וְאִם־יָרֵ֥א אַתָּ֖ה לָרֶ֑דֶת רֵ֥ד אַתָּ֛ה וּפֻרָ֥ה נַעַרְךָ֖ אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ Judges Jdg 7:10 But if you are afraid to go down, go with Purah your servant down to the camp,(nasb) ======= Judges 7:11 ============ Jdg 7:11 And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thine hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.(KJV) Judges 7:11 And thou shalt hearken what they say, and so shal thine handes be strong to go downe vnto the hoste. Then went he downe and Phurah his seruant vnto the outside of the souldiers that were in the hoste.(Geneva) Juges 7:11 Tu écouteras ce qu'ils diront, et après cela tes mains seront fortifiées: descends donc au camp. So he went with Purah his servant down to the outposts of the army that was in the camp.(nasb) ======= Judges 7:12 ============ Jdg 7:12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.(KJV) Judges 7:12 And the Midianites, and the Amalekites and all they of the East, lay in the valley like grashoppers in multitude, and their camels were without nomber, as the sande which is by the sea side for multitude.(Geneva) Juges 7:12 Madian, Amalek, et tous les fils de l'Orient, étaient répandus dans la vallée comme une multitude de sauterelles, et leurs chameaux étaient innombrables comme le sable qui est sur le bord de la mer.(FR) 12 ׃7 וּמִדְיָ֨ן וַעֲמָלֵ֤ק וְכָל־בְּנֵי־קֶ֙דֶם֙ נֹפְלִ֣ים בָּעֵ֔מֶק כָּאַרְבֶּ֖ה לָרֹ֑ב וְלִגְמַלֵּיהֶם֙ אֵ֣ין מִסְפָּ֔ר כַּח֛וֹל שֶׁעַל־שְׂפַ֥ת הַיָּ֖ם לָרֹֽב׃ Judges Jdg 7:12 Now the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the sons of the east were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as numerous as the sand on the seashore.(nasb) ======= Judges 7:13 ============ Jdg 7:13 And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.(KJV) Judges 7:13 And when Gideon was come, beholde, a man tolde a dreame vnto his neighbour, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dreame, & lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled from aboue into the hoste of Midian, & came vnto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and ouerturned it, that the tent fell downe.(Geneva) Juges 7:13 Gédéon arriva; et voici, un homme racontait à son camarade un songe. Il disait: J'ai eu un songe; et voici, un gâteau de pain d'orge roulait dans le camp de Madian; il est venu heurter jusqu'à la tente, et elle est tombée; il l'a retournée sens dessus dessous, et elle a été renversée.(FR) 13 ׃7 וַיָּבֹ֣א גִדְע֔וֹן וְהִ֨נֵּה־אִ֔ישׁ מְסַפֵּ֥ר לְרֵעֵ֖הוּ חֲל֑וֹם וַיֹּ֜אמֶר הִנֵּ֧ה חֲל֣וֹם חָלַ֗מְתִּי וְהִנֵּ֨ה *צלול **צְלִ֜יל לֶ֤חֶם שְׂעֹרִים֙ מִתְהַפֵּךְ֙ בְּמַחֲנֵ֣ה מִדְיָ֔ן וַיָּבֹ֣א עַד־הָ֠אֹהֶל וַיַּכֵּ֧הוּ וַיִּפֹּ֛ל וַיַּהַפְכֵ֥הוּ לְמַ֖עְלָה וְנָפַ֥ל הָאֹֽהֶל׃ Judges Jdg 7:13 When Gideon came, behold, a man was relating a dream to his friend. And he said, "Behold, I had a dream; a loaf of barley bread was tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down so that the tent lay flat."(nasb) ======= Judges 7:14 ============ Jdg 7:14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host.(KJV) Judges 7:14 And his fellow answered, and sayde, This is nothing els saue the sworde of Gideon the sonne of Ioash a man of Israel: for into his hande hath God deliuered Midian and all the hoste.(Geneva) Juges 7:14 Son camarade répondit, et dit: Ce n'est pas autre chose que l'épée de Gédéon, fils de Joas, homme d'Israël; Dieu a livré entre ses mains Madian et tout le camp.(FR) 14 ׃7 וַיַּ֨עַן רֵעֵ֤הוּ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֵ֣ין זֹ֔את בִּלְתִּ֗י אִם־חֶ֛רֶב גִּדְע֥וֹן בֶּן־יוֹאָ֖שׁ אִ֣ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל נָתַ֤ן הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ בְּיָד֔וֹ אֶת־מִדְיָ֖ן וְאֶת־כָּל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ פ Judges Jdg 7:14 His friend replied, "This is nothing less than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given Midian and all the camp into his hand."(nasb) ======= Judges 7:15 ============ Jdg 7:15 And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.(KJV) Judges 7:15 When Gideon heard the dreame tolde, and the interpretation of the same, he worshipped, and returned vnto the hoste of Israel, & said, Vp: for the Lord hath deliuered into your hande the hoste of Midian.(Geneva) Juges 7:15 Lorsque Gédéon eut entendu le récit du songe et son explication, il se prosterna, revint au camp d'Israël, et dit: Levez-vous, car l'Eternel a livré entre vos mains le camp de Madian.(FR) 15 ׃7 וַיְהִי֩ כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ גִּדְע֜וֹן אֶת־מִסְפַּ֧ר הַחֲל֛וֹם וְאֶת־שִׁבְר֖וֹ וַיִּשְׁתָּ֑חוּ וַיָּ֙שָׁב֙ אֶל־מַחֲנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ק֔וּמוּ כִּֽי־נָתַ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה בְּיֶדְכֶ֖ם אֶת־מַחֲנֵ֥ה מִדְיָֽן׃ Judges Jdg 7:15 When Gideon heard the account of the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, "Arise, for the Lord has given the camp of Midian into your hands."(nasb) ======= Judges 7:16 ============ Jdg 7:16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.(KJV) Judges 7:16 And hee deuided the three hundreth men into three bandes, and gaue euery man a trumpet in his hande with emptie pitchers, and lampes within the pitchers.(Geneva) Juges 7:16 Il divisa en trois corps les trois cents hommes, et il leur remit à tous des trompettes et des cruches vides, avec des flambeaux dans les cruches.(FR) 16 ׃7 וַיַּ֛חַץ אֶת־שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת הָאִ֖ישׁ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה רָאשִׁ֑ים וַיִּתֵּ֨ן שׁוֹפָר֤וֹת בְּיַד־כֻּלָּם֙ וְכַדִּ֣ים רֵקִ֔ים וְלַפִּדִ֖ים בְּת֥וֹךְ הַכַּדִּֽים׃ Judges Jdg 7:16 He divided the 300 men into three companies, and he put trumpets and empty pitchers into the hands of all of them, with torches inside the pitchers.(nasb) ======= Judges 7:17 ============ Jdg 7:17 And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do.(KJV) Judges 7:17 And he sayd vnto them, Looke on me, and do likewise, when I come to the side of the hoste: euen as I do, so do you.(Geneva) Juges 7:17 Il leur dit: Vous me regarderez et vous ferez comme moi.
