אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֵ֚ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא־יָדְע֔וּ אֵ֖ת כָּל־מִלְחֲמ֥וֹת כְּנָֽעַן׃ Judges Jdg 3:1 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to test Israel by them (that is, all who had not לְלַמְּדָ֖ם מִלְחָמָ֑ה רַ֥ק אֲשֶׁר־לְפָנִ֖ים לֹ֥א יְדָעֽוּם׃ Judges Jdg 3:2 only in order that the generations of the sons of Israel might be taught war, those who had not experienced it formerly).(nasb) ======= Judges 3:3 ============ Jdg 3:3 Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.(KJV) Judges 3:3 Fiue princes of the Philistims, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, & the Hiuites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-hermon vntill one come to Hamath.(Geneva) Juges 3:3 Ces nations étaient: les cinq princes des Philistins, tous les Cananéens, les Sidoniens, et les Héviens qui habitaient la montagne du Liban, depuis la עַ֖ד לְב֥וֹא חֲמָֽת׃ Judges Jdg 3:3 These nations are: the five lords of the Philistines and all the Canaanites and the Sidonians and the Hivites who lived in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal-hermon as far as Lebo-hamath.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:4 ============ Jdg 3:4 And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.(KJV) Judges 3:4 And these remayned to proue Israel by them, to wit, whether they would obey the commandements of the Lorde, which he commanded their fathers by the hand וַֽיִּהְי֕וּ לְנַסּ֥וֹת בָּ֖ם אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לָדַ֗עַת הֲיִשְׁמְעוּ֙ אֶת־מִצְוֺ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה אֶת־אֲבוֹתָ֖ם בְּיַד־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ Judges Jdg 3:4 They were for testing Israel, to find out if they would obey the commandments of the Lord, which He had commanded their fathers through Moses.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:5 ============ Jdg 3:5 And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:(KJV) Judges 3:5 And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, the Hittites, & the Amorites, and the Perizzites, & the Hiuites, and the Iebusites,(Geneva) Juges 3:5 Et les enfants d'Israël habitèrent au milieu des Cananéens, des Héthiens, des Amoréens, des Phéréziens, des Héviens et des Jébusiens;(FR) 5 ׃3 וּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יָשְׁב֖וּ בְּקֶ֣רֶב הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑י הַחִתִּ֤י וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י וְהַחִוִּ֖י וְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃ Judges Jdg 3:5 The sons of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites;(nasb) ======= Judges 3:6 ============ Jdg 3:6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and אֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ פ Judges Jdg 3:6 and they took their daughters for themselves as wives, and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:7 ============ Jdg 3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.(KJV) Judges 3:7 So the children of Israel did wickedly in the sight of the Lord, & forgate the Lorde their God, and serued Baalim, and Asheroth.(Geneva) Juges 3:7 Les enfants d'Israël firent ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel, ils oublièrent l'Eternel, et ils servirent les The sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asheroth.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:8 ============ Jdg 3:8 Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.(KJV) Judges 3:8 Therefore the wrath of the Lorde was kindled against Israel, and he solde them into the hand of Chushan rishathaim King of Aram-naharaim, and the children of Israel serued Chushan rishathaim eyght yeeres.(Geneva) Juges 3:8 La colère de l'Eternel s'enflamma contre Israël, et il les vendit entre les mains de Cuschan-Rischeathaïm, roi de Mésopotamie. Et les enfants d'Israël furent asservis huit ans à Cuschan-Rischeathaïm.(FR) 8 ׃3 וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֤ף יְהוָה֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַֽיִּמְכְּרֵ֗ם בְּיַד֙ כּוּשַׁ֣ן רִשְׁעָתַ֔יִם מֶ֖לֶךְ אֲרַ֣ם נַהֲרָ֑יִם וַיַּעַבְד֧וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶת־כּוּשַׁ֥ן רִשְׁעָתַ֖יִם שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה שָׁנִֽים׃ Judges Jdg 3:8 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, so that He sold them into the hands of Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the sons of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years. (nasb) ======= Judges 3:9 ============ Jdg 3:9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.(KJV) Judges 3:9 And when the children of Israel cryed vnto the Lorde, the Lord stirred vp a sauiour to ye children of Israel, & he saued them, euen Othniel the sonne of Kenaz, Calebs yonger brother.(Geneva) Juges 3:9 Les enfants d'Israël crièrent à l'Eternel, et l'Eternel leur suscita un libérateur qui les délivra, Othniel, fils de Kenaz, frère cadet de Caleb.(FR) 9 ׃3 וַיִּזְעֲק֤וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה וַיָּ֨קֶם יְהוָ֥ה מוֹשִׁ֛יעַ לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וַיּֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ם אֵ֚ת עָתְנִיאֵ֣ל בֶּן־קְנַ֔ז אֲחִ֥י כָלֵ֖ב הַקָּטֹ֥ן מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ Judges Jdg 3:9 When the sons of Israel cried to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the sons of Israel to deliver them, Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:10 ============ Jdg 3:10 And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.(KJV) Judges 3:10 And the spirite of the Lorde came vpon him, and he iudged Israel, & went out to warre: and the Lord deliuered Chushan rishathaim king of Aram into his hand, and his hand preuailed against Chushan rishathaim.(Geneva) Juges 3:10 L'esprit de l'Eternel fut sur lui. Il devint juge en Israël, et il partit pour la guerre. L'Eternel livra entre ses mains Cuschan-Rischeathaïm, roi de Mésopotamie, et sa main fut puissante contre Cuschan-Rischeathaïm.(FR) 10 ׃3 וַתְּהִ֨י עָלָ֥יו רֽוּחַ־יְהוָה֮ וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֣ט אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וַיֵּצֵא֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה וַיִּתֵּ֤ן יְהוָה֙ בְּיָד֔וֹ אֶת־כּוּשַׁ֥ן רִשְׁעָתַ֖יִם מֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֑ם וַתָּ֣עָז יָד֔וֹ עַ֖ל כּוּשַׁ֥ן רִשְׁעָתָֽיִם׃ Judges Jdg 3:10 The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. When he went out to war, the Lord gave Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand, so that he prevailed over Cushan-rishathaim.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:11 ============ Jdg 3:11 And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.(KJV) Judges 3:11 So the lande had rest fourtie yeeres, and Othniel the sonne of Kenaz dyed.(Geneva) Juges 3:11 Le pays fut en repos pendant quarante ans. Et Othniel, fils de Kenaz, mourut.(FR) 11 ׃3 וַתִּשְׁקֹ֥ט הָאָ֖רֶץ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּ֖מָת עָתְנִיאֵ֥ל בֶּן־קְנַֽז׃ פ Judges Jdg 3:11 Then the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:12 ============ Jdg 3:12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.(KJV) Judges 3:12 Then the children of Israel againe committed wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord strengthened Eglon King of Moab against Israel, because they had committed wickednesse before the Lord.(Geneva) Juges 3:12 Les enfants d'Israël firent encore ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel; et l'Eternel fortifia Eglon, roi de Moab, contre Israël, parce qu'ils avaient fait ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel.(FR) 12 ׃3 וַיֹּסִ֙פוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיְחַזֵּ֨ק יְהוָ֜ה אֶת־עֶגְל֤וֹן מֶֽלֶךְ־מוֹאָב֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַ֛ל כִּֽי־עָשׂ֥וּ אֶת־הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ Judges Jdg 3:12 Now the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:13 ============ Jdg 3:13 And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.(KJV) Judges 3:13 And he gathered vnto him the children of Ammon, and Amalek, & went and smote Israel, and they possessed the citie of palme trees.(Geneva) Juges 3:13 Eglon réunit à lui les fils d'Ammon et les Amalécites, et il se mit en marche. (nasb) ======= Judges 3:15 ============ Jdg 3:15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.(KJV) Judges 3:15 But when the children of Israel cried vnto the Lorde, the Lorde stirred them vp a sauiour, Ehud the sonne of Gera the sonne of Iemini, a man lame of his right hande: and the children of Israel sent a present by him vnto Eglon King of Moab.(Geneva) Juges 3:15 Les enfants d'Israël crièrent à l'Eternel, et l'Eternel leur suscita un libérateur, Ehud, fils de Guéra, Benjamite, qui ne se servait pas de la main droite. Les enfants d'Israël envoyèrent par lui un présent à Eglon, roi de Moab.(FR) 15 ׃3 וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ אֶל־יְהוָה֒ וַיָּקֶם֩ יְהוָ֨ה לָהֶ֜ם מוֹשִׁ֗יעַ אֶת־אֵה֤וּד בֶּן־גֵּרָא֙ בֶּן־הַיְמִינִ֔י אִ֥ישׁ אִטֵּ֖ר יַד־יְמִינ֑וֹ וַיִּשְׁלְח֨וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל בְּיָדוֹ֙ מִנְחָ֔ה לְעֶגְל֖וֹן מֶ֥לֶךְ מוֹאָֽב׃ Judges Jdg 3:15 But when the sons of Israel cried to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for them, Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. And the sons of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:16 ============ Jdg 3:16 But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.(KJV) Judges 3:16 And Ehud made him a dagger with two edges of a cubite length, and he did gird it vnder his rayment vpon his right thigh,(Geneva) Juges 3:16 Ehud se fit une épée à deux tranchants, longue d'une coudée, et il la ceignit sous ses vêtements, au côté droit.(FR) 16 ׃3 וַיַּעַשׂ֩ ל֨וֹ אֵה֜וּד חֶ֗רֶב וְלָ֛הּ שְׁנֵ֥י פֵי֖וֹת גֹּ֣מֶד אָרְכָּ֑הּ וַיַּחְגֹּ֤ר אוֹתָהּ֙ מִתַּ֣חַת לְמַדָּ֔יו עַ֖ל יֶ֥רֶךְ יְמִינֽוֹ׃ Judges Jdg 3:16 Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length, and he bound it on his right thigh under his cloak.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:17 ============ Jdg 3:17 And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.(KJV) Judges 3:17 And he presented ye gift vnto Eglon King of Moab (and Eglon was a very fat man)(Geneva) Juges 3:17 Il offrit le présent à Eglon, roi de Moab: or Eglon était un homme très gras.(FR) 17 ׃3 וַיַּקְרֵב֙ אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֔ה לְעֶגְל֖וֹן מֶ֣לֶךְ מוֹאָ֑ב וְעֶגְל֕וֹן אִ֥ישׁ בָּרִ֖יא מְאֹֽד׃ Judges Jdg 3:17 He presented the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was a very fat man.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:18 ============ Jdg 3:18 And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.(KJV) Judges 3:18 And when he had now presented the present, he sent away the people that bare ye present,(Geneva) Juges 3:18 Lorsqu'il eut achevé d'offrir le présent, il renvoya les gens qui l'avaient apporté.(FR) 18 ׃3 וַֽיְהִי֙ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר כִּלָּ֔ה לְהַקְרִ֖יב אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֑ה וַיְשַׁלַּח֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם נֹשְׂאֵ֖י הַמִּנְחָֽה׃ Judges Jdg 3:18 It came about when he had finished presenting the tribute, that he sent away the people who had carried the tribute.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:19 ============ Jdg 3:19 But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.(KJV) Judges 3:19 But he turned againe from the quarris, that were by Gilgal, & said, I haue a secret errand vnto thee, O King. Who said, Keepe silence: and all that stoode about him, went out from him.(Geneva) Juges 3:19 Il revint lui-même depuis les carrières près de Guilgal, et il dit: O roi! j'ai quelque chose de secret à te dire. Le roi dit: Silence! Et tous ceux qui étaient auprès de lui sortirent.(FR) 19 ׃3 וְה֣וּא שָׁ֗ב מִן־הַפְּסִילִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶת־הַגִּלְגָּ֔ל וַיֹּ֕אמֶר דְּבַר־סֵ֥תֶר לִ֛י אֵלֶ֖יךָ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הָ֔ס וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙ מֵֽעָלָ֔יו כָּל־הָעֹמְדִ֖ים עָלָֽיו׃ Judges Jdg 3:19 But he himself turned back from the idols which were at Gilgal, and said, "I have a secret message for you, O king." And he said, "Keep silence." And all who attended him left him.(nasb) ======= Judges 3:20 ============ Jdg 3:20 And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.(KJV) Judges 3:20 Then Ehud came vnto him. (and he sate alone in a sommer parler, which he had) and Ehud said, I haue a message vnto thee from God. Then he arose out of his throne,(Geneva) Juges 3:20 Ehud l'aborda comme il était assis seul dans sa chambre d'été, et il dit: J'ai une parole de Dieu pour toi. Eglon se leva de son siège.(FR) 20 ׃3 וְאֵה֣וּד ׀ בָּ֣א אֵלָ֗יו וְהֽוּא־יֹ֠שֵׁב בַּעֲלִיַּ֨ת הַמְּקֵרָ֤ה אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ֙ לְבַדּ֔וֹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵה֔וּד דְּבַר־אֱלֹהִ֥ים לִ֖י אֵלֶ֑יךָ וַיָּ֖קָם מֵעַ֥ל הַכִּסֵּֽא׃ Judges Jdg 3:20 Ehud came to him while he was sitting alone in his cool roof chamber. And Ehud said, "I have a message from God for you."
