Then Satan answered the Lord and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it."(nasb) ======= Job 2:3 ============ Job 2:3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.(KJV) Job 2:3 And the Lord sayd vnto Satan, Hast thou not considered my seruant Iob, how none is like him in the earth? an vpright and iust man, one that feareth God, and escheweth euill? for yet he continueth in his vprightnesse, although thou mouedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.(Geneva) Job 2:3 L'Eternel dit à Satan: As-tu remarqué mon serviteur Job? Il n'y a personne comme lui sur la terre; c'est un homme intègre et droit, craignant Dieu, et se détournant du mal. Il demeure ferme dans son intégrité, et tu m'excites à le perdre sans motif.(FR) 3 ׃2 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־הַשָּׂטָ֗ן הֲשַׂ֣מְתָּ לִבְּךָ֮ אֶל־עַבְדִּ֣י אִיּוֹב֒ כִּי֩ אֵ֨ין כָּמֹ֜הוּ בָּאָ֗רֶץ אִ֣ישׁ תָּ֧ם וְיָשָׁ֛ר יְרֵ֥א אֱלֹהִ֖ים וְסָ֣ר מֵרָ֑ע וְעֹדֶ֙נּוּ֙ מַחֲזִ֣יק בְּתֻמָּת֔וֹ וַתְּסִיתֵ֥נִי ב֖וֹ לְבַלְּע֥וֹ חִנָּֽם׃ Job Job 2:3 The Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause."(nasb) ======= Job 2:4 ============ Job 2:4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.(KJV) Job 2:4 And Satan answered the Lorde, and sayde, Skin for skin, and all that euer a man hath, will he giue for his life.(Geneva) Job 2:4 Et Satan répondit à l'Eternel: Peau pour peau! tout ce que possède un homme, il le donne pour sa vie.(FR) 4 ׃2 וַיַּ֧עַן הַשָּׂטָ֛ן אֶת־יְהוָ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑ר ע֣וֹר בְּעַד־ע֗וֹר וְכֹל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לָאִ֔ישׁ יִתֵּ֖ן בְּעַ֥ד נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ Job Job 2:4 Satan answered the Lord and said, "Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.(nasb) ======= Job 2:5 ============ Job 2:5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.(KJV) Job 2:5 But stretch now out thine hand, and touch his bones and his flesh, to see if he will not blaspheme thee to thy face.(Geneva) Job 2:5 Mais étends ta main, touche à ses os et à sa chair, et je suis sûr qu'il te maudit en face.(FR) 5 ׃2 אוּלָם֙ שְֽׁלַֽח־נָ֣א יָֽדְךָ֔ וְגַ֥ע אֶל־עַצְמ֖וֹ וְאֶל־בְּשָׂר֑וֹ אִם־לֹ֥א אֶל־פָּנֶ֖יךָ יְבָרֲכֶֽךָּ׃ Job Job 2:5 However, put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face."(nasb) ======= Job 2:6 ============ Job 2:6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.(KJV) Job 2:6 Then the Lorde said vnto Satan, Lo, he is in thine hand, but saue his life.(Geneva) Job 2:6 L'Eternel dit à Satan: Voici, je te le livre: seulement, épargne sa vie.(FR) 6 ׃2 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־הַשָּׂטָ֖ן הִנּ֣וֹ בְיָדֶ֑ךָ אַ֖ךְ אֶת־נַפְשׁ֥וֹ שְׁמֹֽר׃ Job Job 2:6 So the Lord said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life."(nasb) ======= Job 2:7 ============ Job 2:7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.(KJV) Job 2:7 So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord, and smote Iob with sore boyles, from the sole of his foote vnto his crowne.(Geneva) Job 2:7 Et Satan se retira de devant la face de l'Eternel. Maudis Dieu, et meurs!(FR) 9 ׃2 וַתֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ עֹדְךָ֖ מַחֲזִ֣יק בְּתֻמָּתֶ֑ךָ בָּרֵ֥ךְ אֱלֹהִ֖ים וָמֻֽת׃ Job Job 2:9 Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!"(nasb) ======= Job 2:10 ============ Job 2:10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.(KJV) Job 2:10 But he said vnto her, Thou speakest like a foolish woman: what? shall we receiue good at the hande of God, and not receiue euill? In all this did not Iob sinne with his lippes.(Geneva) Job 2:10 Mais Job lui répondit: Tu parles comme une femme insensée. Quoi! nous recevons de Dieu le bien, et nous ne recevrions pas aussi le mal! En tout cela Job ne pécha point par ses lèvres.(FR) 10 ׃2 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלֶ֗יהָ כְּדַבֵּ֞ר אַחַ֤ת הַנְּבָלוֹת֙ תְּדַבֵּ֔רִי גַּ֣ם אֶת־הַטּ֗וֹב נְקַבֵּל֙ מֵאֵ֣ת הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וְאֶת־הָרָ֖ע לֹ֣א נְקַבֵּ֑ל בְּכָל־זֹ֛את לֹא־חָטָ֥א אִיּ֖וֹב בִּשְׂפָתָֽיו׃ פ Job Job 2:10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.(nasb) ======= Job 2:11 ============ Job 2:11 Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.(KJV) Job 2:11 Nowe when Iobs three friends heard of all this euill that was come vpon him, they came euery one from his owne place, to wit, Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they were agreed together to come to lament with him, and to comfort him.(Geneva) Job 2:11 Trois amis de Job, Eliphaz de Théman, Bildad de Schuach, et Tsophar de Naama, apprirent tous les malheurs qui lui étaient arrivés. Ils se concertèrent et partirent de chez eux pour aller le plaindre et le consoler!(FR) 11 ׃2 וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֞וּ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת ׀ רֵעֵ֣י אִיּ֗וֹב אֵ֣ת כָּל־הָרָעָ֣ה הַזֹּאת֮ הַבָּ֣אָה עָלָיו֒ וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ מִמְּקֹמ֔וֹ אֱלִיפַ֤ז הַתֵּימָנִי֙ וּבִלְדַּ֣ד הַשּׁוּחִ֔י וְצוֹפַ֖ר הַנַּֽעֲמָתִ֑י וַיִּוָּעֲד֣וּ יַחְדָּ֔ו לָב֥וֹא לָנֽוּד־ל֖וֹ וּֽלְנַחֲמֽוֹ׃ Job Job 2:11 Now when Job's three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, they came each one from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and comfort him.(nasb) ======= Job 2:12 ============ Job 2:12 And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.(KJV) Job 2:12 So when they lift vp their eyes a farre off, they knewe him not: therefore they lift vp their voyces and wept, and euery one of them rent his garment, and sprinkled dust vpon their heads toward the heauen.(Geneva) Job 2:12 Ayant de loin porté les regards sur lui, ils ne le reconnurent pas, et ils élevèrent la voix et pleurèrent. Ils déchirèrent leurs manteaux, et ils jetèrent de la poussière en l'air au-dessus de leur tête.(FR) 12 ׃2 וַיִּשְׂא֨וּ אֶת־עֵינֵיהֶ֤ם מֵרָחוֹק֙ וְלֹ֣א הִכִּירֻ֔הוּ וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ קוֹלָ֖ם וַיִּבְכּ֑וּ וַֽיִּקְרְעוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ מְעִל֔וֹ וַיִּזְרְק֥וּ עָפָ֛ר עַל־רָאשֵׁיהֶ֖ם הַשָּׁמָֽיְמָה׃ Job Job 2:12 When they lifted up their eyes at a distance and did not recognize him, they raised their voices and wept. And each of them tore his robe and they threw dust over their heads toward the sky.(nasb) ======= Job 2:13 ============ Job 2:13 So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.(kjv) Job 2:13 So they sate by him vpon the ground seuen dayes, and seuen nights, and none spake a worde vnto him: for they sawe, that the griefe was very great.(Geneva) Job 2:13 Et ils se tinrent assis à terre auprès de lui sept jours et sept nuits, sans lui dire une parole, car ils voyaient combien sa douleur était grande.(FR) 13 ׃2 וַיֵּשְׁב֤וּ אִתּוֹ֙ לָאָ֔רֶץ שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים וְשִׁבְעַ֣ת לֵיל֑וֹת וְאֵין־דֹּבֵ֤ר אֵלָיו֙ דָּבָ֔ר כִּ֣י רָא֔וּ כִּֽי־גָדַ֥ל הַכְּאֵ֖ב מְאֹֽד׃ Job Job 2:13 Then they sat down on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights with no one speaking a word to him, for they saw that his pain was very great.
