(nasb) ======= Amos 3:4 ============ Amo 3:4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?(KJV) Amos 3:4 Will a lion roare in ye forest, when he hath no pray? or wil a lions whelpe cry out of his den, if he haue taken nothing?(Geneva) Amos 3:4 Le lion rugit-il dans la forêt, Sans avoir une proie? Le lionceau pousse-t-il des cris du fond de sa tanière, Sans avoir fait une capture?(FR) 4 ׃3 הֲיִשְׁאַ֤ג אַרְיֵה֙ בַּיַּ֔עַר וְטֶ֖רֶף אֵ֣ין ל֑וֹ הֲיִתֵּ֨ן כְּפִ֤יר קוֹלוֹ֙ מִמְּעֹ֣נָת֔וֹ בִּלְתִּ֖י אִם־לָכָֽד׃ Amos Amo 3:4 Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? (nasb) ======= Amos 3:5 ============ Amo 3:5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?(KJV) Amos 3:5 Can a birde fall in a snare vpon the earth, where no fouler is? or will he take vp the snare from the earth, and haue taken nothing at all?(Geneva) Amos 3:5 L'oiseau tombe-t-il dans le filet qui est à terre, Sans qu'il y ait un piège? Le filet s'élève-t-il de terre, Sans qu'il y ait rien de pris?(FR) 5 ׃3 הֲתִפֹּ֤ל צִפּוֹר֙ עַל־פַּ֣ח הָאָ֔רֶץ וּמוֹקֵ֖שׁ אֵ֣ין לָ֑הּ הֲיַֽעֲלֶה־פַּח֙ מִן־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה וְלָכ֖וֹד לֹ֥א יִלְכּֽוֹד׃ Amos Amo 3:5 Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no bait in it? Does a trap spring up from the earth when it captures nothing at all? (nasb) ======= Amos 3:6 ============ Amo 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?(KJV) Amos 3:6 Or shall a trumpet be blowen in the citie, and the people be not afraide? or shall there be euil in a citie, and the Lord hath not done it?(Geneva) Amos 3:6 Sonne-t-on de la trompette dans une ville, Sans que le peuple soit dans l'épouvante? Arrive-t-il un malheur dans une ville, Sans que l'Eternel en soit l'auteur?(FR) 6 ׃3 אִם־יִתָּקַ֤ע שׁוֹפָר֙ בְּעִ֔יר וְעָ֖ם לֹ֣א יֶחֱרָ֑דוּ אִם־תִּהְיֶ֤ה רָעָה֙ בְּעִ֔יר וַיהוָ֖ה לֹ֥א עָשָֽׂה׃ Amos Amo 3:6 If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the Lord done it? (nasb) ======= Amos 3:7 ============ Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.(KJV) Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will doe nothing, but he reueileth his secrete vnto his seruantes the Prophets.(Geneva) Amos 3:7 Car le Seigneur, l'Eternel, ne fait rien Sans avoir révélé son secret à ses serviteurs les prophètes.(FR) 7 ׃3 כִּ֣י לֹ֧א יַעֲשֶׂ֛ה אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִ֖ה דָּבָ֑ר כִּ֚י אִם־גָּלָ֣ה סוֹד֔וֹ אֶל־עֲבָדָ֖יו הַנְּבִיאִֽים׃ Amos Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets. (nasb) ======= Amos 3:8 ============ Amo 3:8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?(KJV) Amos 3:8 The lyon hath roared: who will not bee afraide? the Lord God hath spoken: who can but prophecie?(Geneva) Amos 3:8 Le lion rugit: qui ne serait effrayé? (nasb) ======= Amos 3:9 ============ Amo 3:9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.(KJV) Amos 3:9 Proclayme in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the lande of Egypt, and saye, Assemble your selues vpon the mountaines of Samaria: so beholde the great tumultes in the middes thereof, and the oppressed in the middes thereof.(Geneva) Amos 3:9 Faites retentir votre voix dans les palais d'Asdod Et dans les palais du pays d'Egypte, Et dites: Rassemblez-vous sur les montagnes de Samarie, Et voyez quelle immense confusion au milieu d'elle, Quelles violences dans son sein!(FR) 9 ׃3 הַשְׁמִ֙יעוּ֙ עַל־אַרְמְנ֣וֹת בְּאַשְׁדּ֔וֹד וְעַֽל־אַרְמְנ֖וֹת בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְאִמְר֗וּ הֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ עַל־הָרֵ֣י שֹׁמְר֔וֹן וּרְא֞וּ מְהוּמֹ֤ת רַבּוֹת֙ בְּתוֹכָ֔הּ וַעֲשׁוּקִ֖ים בְּקִרְבָּֽהּ׃ Amos Amo 3:9 Proclaim on the citadels in Ashdod and on the citadels in the land of Egypt and say, "Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see the great tumults within her and the oppressions in her midst. (nasb) ======= Amos 3:10 ============ Amo 3:10 For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.(KJV) Amos 3:10 For they knowe not to doe right, sayth the Lorde: they store vp violence, and robbery in their palaces.(Geneva) Amos 3:10 Ils ne savent pas agir avec droiture, dit l'Eternel, Ils entassent dans leurs palais les produits de la violence et de la rapine.(FR) 10 ׃3 וְלֹֽא־יָדְע֥וּ עֲשׂוֹת־נְכֹחָ֖ה נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה הָאֽוֹצְרִ֛ים חָמָ֥ס וָשֹׁ֖ד בְּאַרְמְנֽוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ פ Amos Amo 3:10 But they do not know how to do what is right," declares the Lord, "these who hoard up violence and devastation in their citadels."(nasb) ======= Amos 3:11 ============ Amo 3:11 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.(KJV) Amos 3:11 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, An aduersary shall come euen rounde about the countrey, and shall bring downe thy strength fro thee, and thy palaces shalbe spoyled.(Geneva) Amos 3:11 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: L'ennemi investira le pays, Il détruira ta force, Et tes palais seront pillés.(FR) 11 ׃3 לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה צַ֖ר וּסְבִ֣יב הָאָ֑רֶץ וְהוֹרִ֤ד מִמֵּךְ֙ עֻזֵּ֔ךְ וְנָבֹ֖זּוּ אַרְמְנוֹתָֽיִךְ׃ Amos Amo 3:11 Therefore, thus says the Lord God, "An enemy, even one surrounding the land, Will pull down your strength from you And your citadels will be looted."(nasb) ======= Amos 3:12 ============ Amo 3:12 Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.(KJV) Amos 3:12 Thus saieth the Lorde, As the shephearde taketh out of the mouth of the lyon two legges, or a piece of an eare: so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus, as in a couche.(Geneva) Amos 3:12 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Comme le berger arrache de la gueule du lion Deux jambes ou un bout d'oreille, Ainsi se sauveront les enfants d'Israël qui sont assis dans Samarie A l'angle d'un lit et sur des tapis de damas.(FR) 12 ׃3 כֹּה֮ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָה֒ כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ יַצִּ֨יל הָרֹעֶ֜ה מִפִּ֧י הָאֲרִ֛י שְׁתֵּ֥י כְרָעַ֖יִם א֣וֹ בְדַל־אֹ֑זֶן כֵּ֣ן יִנָּצְל֞וּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן בִּפְאַ֥ת מִטָּ֖ה וּבִדְמֶ֥שֶׁק עָֽרֶשׂ׃ Amos Amo 3:12 Thus says the Lord, "Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion's mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, So will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be snatched away-- With the corner of a bed and the cover of a couch! (nasb) ======= Amos 3:13 ============ Amo 3:13 Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,(KJV) Amos 3:13 Heare, and testifie in the house of Iaakob, saith the Lord God, the God of hostes.(Geneva) Amos 3:13 Ecoutez, et déclarez ceci à la maison de Jacob! Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel, le Dieu des armées.(FR) 13 ׃3 שִׁמְע֥וּ וְהָעִ֖ידוּ בְּבֵ֣ית יַֽעֲקֹ֑ב נְאֻם־אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י הַצְּבָאֽוֹת׃ Amos Amo 3:13 "Hear and testify against the house of Jacob," Declares the Lord God, the God of hosts. (nasb) ======= Amos 3:15 ============ Amo 3:15 And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.(kjv) Amos 3:15 And I wil smite the winter house with the sommer house, and the houses of yuorie shal perish, and the great houses shalbe consumed, sayth the Lord.(Geneva) Amos 3:15 Je renverserai les maisons d'hiver et les maisons d'été; Les palais d'ivoire périront, Les maisons des grands disparaîtront, dit l'Eternel.(FR) 15 ׃3 וְהִכֵּיתִ֥י בֵית־הַחֹ֖רֶף עַל־בֵּ֣ית הַקָּ֑יִץ וְאָבְד֞וּ בָּתֵּ֣י הַשֵּׁ֗ן וְסָפ֛וּ בָּתִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ ס Amos Amo 3:15 "I will also smite the winter house together with the summer house; The houses of ivory will also perish And the great houses will come to an end," Declares the Lord.
