(nasb) ======= Amos 5:5 ============ Amo 5:5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.(KJV) Amos 5:5 But seeke not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, & go not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shal goe into captiuitie, and Beth-el shal come to nought.(Geneva) Amos 5:5 Ne cherchez pas Béthel, N'allez pas à Guilgal, Ne passez pas à Beer-Schéba. Car Guilgal sera captif, Et Béthel anéanti.(FR) 5 ׃5 וְאַֽל־תִּדְרְשׁוּ֙ בֵּֽית־אֵ֔ל וְהַגִּלְגָּל֙ לֹ֣א תָבֹ֔אוּ וּבְאֵ֥ר שֶׁ֖בַע לֹ֣א תַעֲבֹ֑רוּ כִּ֤י הַגִּלְגָּל֙ גָּלֹ֣ה יִגְלֶ֔ה וּבֵֽית־אֵ֖ל יִהְיֶ֥ה לְאָֽוֶן׃ Amos Amo 5:5 "But do not resort to Bethel And do not come to Gilgal, Nor cross over to Beersheba; For Gilgal will certainly go into captivity And Bethel will come to trouble. (nasb) ======= Amos 5:6 ============ Amo 5:6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.(KJV) Amos 5:6 Seeke the Lorde, and yee shal liue, least he breake out like fire in the house of Ioseph & deuoure it, & there be none to quench it in Beth-el.(Geneva) Amos 5:6 Cherchez l'Eternel, et vous vivrez! Craignez qu'il ne saisisse comme un feu la maison de Joseph, Et que ce feu ne la dévore, sans personne à Béthel pour l'éteindre,(FR) 6 ׃5 דִּרְשׁ֥וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֖ה וִֽחְי֑וּ פֶּן־יִצְלַ֤ח כָּאֵשׁ֙ בֵּ֣ית יוֹסֵ֔ף וְאָכְלָ֥ה וְאֵין־מְכַבֶּ֖ה לְבֵֽית־אֵֽל׃ Amos Amo 5:6 "Seek the Lord that you may live, Or He will break forth like a fire, O house of Joseph, And it will consume with none to quench it for Bethel, (nasb) ======= Amos 5:7 ============ Amo 5:7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,(KJV) Amos 5:7 They turne iudgement to wormewood, and leaue off righteousnes in the earth.(Geneva) Amos 5:7 O vous qui changez le droit en absinthe, Et qui foulez à terre la justice!(FR) 7 ׃5 הַהֹפְכִ֥ים לְלַעֲנָ֖ה מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וּצְדָקָ֖ה לָאָ֥רֶץ הִנִּֽיחוּ׃ Amos Amo 5:7 For those who turn justice into wormwood And cast righteousness down to the earth."(nasb) ======= Amos 5:8 ============ Amo 5:8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:(KJV) Amos 5:8 He maketh Pleiades, and Orion, and he turneth the shadowe of death into the morning, and he maketh the day darke as night: he calleth the waters of the sea, and powreth them out vpon the open earth: the Lord is his Name.(Geneva) Amos 5:8 Il a créé les Pléiades et l'Orion, Il change les ténèbres en aurore, Il obscurcit le jour pour en faire la nuit, Il appelle les eaux de la mer, Et les répand à la surface de la terre: L'Eternel est son nom.(FR) 8 ׃5 עֹשֵׂ֨ה כִימָ֜ה וּכְסִ֗יל וְהֹפֵ֤ךְ לַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ צַלְמָ֔וֶת וְי֖וֹם לַ֣יְלָה הֶחְשִׁ֑יךְ הַקּוֹרֵ֣א לְמֵֽי־הַיָּ֗ם וַֽיִּשְׁפְּכֵ֛ם עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ יְהוָ֥ה שְׁמֽוֹ׃ ס Amos Amo 5:8 He who made the Pleiades and Orion And changes deep darkness into morning, Who also darkens day into night, Who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the surface of the earth, The Lord is His name. (nasb) ======= Amos 5:9 ============ Amo 5:9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.(KJV) Amos 5:9 He strengtheneth the destroyer against the mightie: and the destroyer shal come against the fortresse.(Geneva) Amos 5:9 Il fait lever la ruine sur les puissants, Et la ruine vient sur les forteresses.(FR) 9 ׃5 הַמַּבְלִ֥יג שֹׁ֖ד עַל־עָ֑ז וְשֹׁ֖ד עַל־מִבְצָ֥ר יָבֽוֹא׃ Amos Amo 5:9 It is He who flashes forth with destruction upon the strong, So that destruction comes upon the fortress. (nasb) ======= Amos 5:12 ============ Amo 5:12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.(KJV) Amos 5:12 For I know your manifold transgressions, and your mightie sinnes: they afflict the iust, they take rewards, & they oppresse the poore in ye gate.(Geneva) Amos 5:12 Car, je le sais, vos crimes sont nombreux, Vos péchés se sont multipliés; Vous opprimez le juste, vous recevez des présents, Et vous violez à la porte le droit des pauvres.(FR) 12 ׃5 כִּ֤י יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ רַבִּ֣ים פִּשְׁעֵיכֶ֔ם וַעֲצֻמִ֖ים חַטֹּֽאתֵיכֶ֑ם צֹרְרֵ֤י צַדִּיק֙ לֹ֣קְחֵי כֹ֔פֶר וְאֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים בַּשַּׁ֥עַר הִטּֽוּ׃ Amos Amo 5:12 For I know your transgressions are many and your sins are great, You who distress the righteous and accept bribes And turn aside the poor in the gate. (nasb) ======= Amos 5:13 ============ Amo 5:13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.(KJV) Amos 5:13 Therefore the prudent shal keepe silence in that time, for it is an euill time.(Geneva) Amos 5:13 Voilà pourquoi, en des temps comme ceux-ci, le sage se tait; Car ces temps sont mauvais.(FR) 13 ׃5 לָכֵ֗ן הַמַּשְׂכִּ֛יל בָּעֵ֥ת הַהִ֖יא יִדֹּ֑ם כִּ֛י עֵ֥ת רָעָ֖ה הִֽיא׃ Amos Amo 5:13 Therefore at such a time the prudent person keeps silent, for it is an evil time. Perhaps the Lord God of hosts May be gracious to the remnant of Joseph. Alas!' They also call the farmer to mourning And professional mourners to lamentation.
