(nasb) ======= Amos 6:2 ============ Amo 6:2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?(KJV) Amos 6:2 Goe you vnto Calneh, and see: and from thence goe you to Hamath the great: then goe downe to Gath of the Philistims: be they better then these kingdomes? or the border of their land greater then your border,(Geneva) Amos 6:2 Passez à Calné et voyez, Allez de là jusqu'à Hamath la grande, Et descendez à Gath chez les Philistins: Ces villes sont-elles plus prospères que vos deux royaumes, Et leur territoire est-il plus étendu que le vôtre?...(FR) 2 ׃6 עִבְר֤וּ כַֽלְנֵה֙ וּרְא֔וּ וּלְכ֥וּ מִשָּׁ֖ם חֲמַ֣ת רַבָּ֑ה וּרְד֣וּ גַת־פְּלִשְׁתּ֗ים הֲטוֹבִים֙ מִן־הַמַּמְלָכ֣וֹת הָאֵ֔לֶּה אִם־רַ֥ב גְּבוּלָ֖ם מִגְּבֻלְכֶֽם׃ Amos Amo 6:2 Go over to Calneh and look, And go from there to Hamath the great, Then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms, Or is their territory greater than yours? (nasb) ======= Amos 6:3 ============ Amo 6:3 Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;(KJV) Amos 6:3 Ye that put farre away the euill day, and approch to the seate of iniquitie?(Geneva) Amos 6:3 Vous croyez éloigné le jour du malheur, Et vous faites approcher le règne de la violence.(FR) 3 ׃6 הַֽמְנַדִּ֖ים לְי֣וֹם רָ֑ע וַתַּגִּישׁ֖וּן שֶׁ֥בֶת חָמָֽס׃ Amos Amo 6:3 Do you put off the day of calamity, And would you bring near the seat of violence? (nasb) ======= Amos 6:4 ============ Amo 6:4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;(KJV) Amos 6:4 They lie vpon beddes of yuorie, & stretch themselues vpon their beddes, & eate the lambes of the flocke, and the calues out of the stall.(Geneva) Amos 6:4 Ils reposent sur des lits d'ivoire, Ils sont mollement étendus sur leurs couches; Ils mangent les agneaux du troupeau, Les veaux mis à l'engrais.(FR) 4 ׃6 הַשֹּֽׁכְבִים֙ עַל־מִטּ֣וֹת שֵׁ֔ן וּסְרֻחִ֖ים עַל־עַרְשׂוֹתָ֑ם וְאֹכְלִ֤ים כָּרִים֙ מִצֹּ֔אן וַעֲגָלִ֖ים מִתּ֥וֹךְ מַרְבֵּֽק׃ Amos Amo 6:4 Those who recline on beds of ivory And sprawl on their couches, And eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall, (nasb) ======= Amos 6:5 ============ Amo 6:5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;(KJV) Amos 6:5 They sing to the sounde of the viole: they inuent to themselues instruments of musike like Dauid.(Geneva) Amos 6:5 Ils extravaguent au son du luth, Ils se croient habiles comme David sur les instruments de musique.(FR) 5 ׃6 הַפֹּרְטִ֖ים עַל־פִּ֣י הַנָּ֑בֶל כְּדָוִ֕יד חָשְׁב֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם כְּלֵי־שִֽׁיר׃ Amos Amo 6:5 Who improvise to the sound of the harp, And like David have composed songs for themselves, (nasb) ======= Amos 6:6 ============ Amo 6:6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.(KJV) Amos 6:6 They drinke wine in bowles, and anoynt themselues with the chiefe ointments, but no man is sory for the affliction of Ioseph.(Geneva) Amos 6:6 Ils boivent le vin dans de larges coupes, Ils s'oignent avec la meilleure huile, Et ils ne s'attristent pas sur la ruine de Joseph!(FR) 6 ׃6 הַשֹּׁתִ֤ים בְּמִזְרְקֵי֙ יַ֔יִן וְרֵאשִׁ֥ית שְׁמָנִ֖ים יִמְשָׁ֑חוּ וְלֹ֥א נֶחְל֖וּ עַל־שֵׁ֥בֶר יוֹסֵֽף Amos Amo 6:6 Who drink wine from sacrificial bowls While they anoint themselves with the finest of oils, Yet they have not grieved over the ruin of Joseph. (nasb) ======= Amos 6:7 ============ Amo 6:7 Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.(KJV) Amos 6:7 Therefore nowe shal they go captiue with the first that go captiue, and the sorow of them that stretched themselues, is at hand.(Geneva) Amos 6:7 C'est pourquoi ils seront emmenés à la tête des captifs; Et les cris de joie de ces voluptueux cesseront.(FR) 7 ׃6 לָכֵ֛ן עַתָּ֥ה יִגְל֖וּ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ גֹּלִ֑ים וְסָ֖ר מִרְזַ֥ח סְרוּחִֽים׃ פ Amos Amo 6:7 Therefore, they will now go into exile at the head of the exiles, And the sprawlers' banqueting will pass away. (nasb) ======= Amos 6:8 ============ Amo 6:8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.(KJV) Amos 6:8 The Lord God hath sworne by himselfe, saith the Lord God of hostes, I abhorre the excellencie of Iaakob, & hate his palaces: therefore wil I deliuer vp the citie with all that is therein.(Geneva) Amos 6:8 Le Seigneur, l'Eternel, l'a juré par lui-même; L'Eternel, le Dieu des armées, a dit: J'ai en horreur l'orgueil de Jacob, Et je hais ses palais; Je livrerai la ville et tout ce qu'elle renferme.(FR) 8 ׃6 נִשְׁבַּע֩ אֲדֹנָ֨י יְהוִ֜ה בְּנַפְשׁ֗וֹ נְאֻם־יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י צְבָא֔וֹת מְתָאֵ֤ב אָֽנֹכִי֙ אֶת־גְּא֣וֹן יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וְאַרְמְנֹתָ֖יו שָׂנֵ֑אתִי וְהִסְגַּרְתִּ֖י עִ֥יר וּמְלֹאָֽהּ׃ Amos Amo 6:8 The Lord God has sworn by Himself, the Lord God of hosts has declared: "I loathe the arrogance of Jacob, And detest his citadels; Therefore I will deliver up the city and all it contains."(nasb) ======= Amos 6:9 ============ Amo 6:9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.(KJV) Amos 6:9 And if there remaine ten men in one house, they shal die.(Geneva) Amos 6:9 Et s'il reste dix hommes dans une maison, ils mourront.(FR) 9 ׃6 וְהָיָ֗ה אִם־יִוָּ֨תְר֜וּ עֲשָׂרָ֧ה אֲנָשִׁ֛ים בְּבַ֥יִת אֶחָ֖ד וָמֵֽתוּ׃ Amos Amo 6:9 And it will be, if ten men are left in one house, they will die. (nasb) ======= Amos 6:10 ============ Amo 6:10 And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.(KJV) Amos 6:10 And his vncle shall take him vp & burne him to cary out the bones out of the house, and shal say vnto him, that is by ye sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? And he shal say, None. Then shal he say, Holde thy tongue: for we may not remember the Name of the Lord.(Geneva) Amos 6:10 Lorsqu'un parent prendra un mort pour le brûler Et qu'il enlèvera de la maison les ossements, Il dira à celui qui est au fond de la maison: Y a-t-il encore quelqu'un avec toi? Et cet homme répondra: Personne... Et l'autre dira: Silence! Ce n'est pas le moment de prononcer le nom de l'Eternel.(FR) 10 ׃6 וּנְשָׂא֞וֹ דּוֹד֣וֹ וּמְסָרְפ֗וֹ לְהוֹצִ֣יא עֲצָמִים֮ מִן־הַבַּיִת֒ וְאָמַ֞ר לַאֲשֶׁ֨ר בְּיַרְכְּתֵ֥י הַבַּ֛יִת הַע֥וֹד עִמָּ֖ךְ וְאָמַ֣ר אָ֑פֶס וְאָמַ֣ר הָ֔ס כִּ֛י לֹ֥א לְהַזְכִּ֖יר בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהוָֽה׃ Amos Amo 6:10 Then one's uncle, or his undertaker, will lift him up to carry out his bones from the house, and he will say to the one who is in the innermost part of the house, "Is anyone else with you?" And that one will say, "No one." Then he will answer, "Keep quiet. (nasb) ======= Amos 6:12 ============ Amo 6:12 Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:(KJV) Amos 6:12 Shal horses runne vpon the rocke? or wil one plowe there with oxen? for yee haue turned iudgement into gall, and the fruite of righteousnes into wormewood.(Geneva) Amos 6:12 Est-ce que les chevaux courent sur un rocher, Est-ce qu'on y laboure avec des boeufs, Pour que vous ayez changé la droiture en poison, Et le fruit de la justice en absinthe?(FR) 12 ׃6 הַיְרֻצ֤וּן בַּסֶּ֙לַע֙ סוּסִ֔ים אִֽם־יַחֲר֖וֹשׁ בַּבְּקָרִ֑ים כִּֽי־הֲפַכְתֶּ֤ם לְרֹאשׁ֙ מִשְׁפָּ֔ט וּפְרִ֥י צְדָקָ֖ה לְלַעֲנָֽה׃ Amos Amo 6:12 Do horses run on rocks? Or does one plow them with oxen? Yet you have turned justice into poison And the fruit of righteousness into wormwood, (nasb) ======= Amos 6:13 ============ Amo 6:13 Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?(KJV) Amos 6:13 Ye reioyce in a thing of nought: yee say, Haue not wee gotten vs hornes by our owne strength?(Geneva) Amos 6:13 Vous vous réjouissez de ce qui n'est que néant, Vous dites: N'est-ce pas par notre force Que nous avons acquis de la puissance?(FR) 13 ׃6 הַשְּׂמֵחִ֖ים לְלֹ֣א דָבָ֑ר הָאֹ֣מְרִ֔ים הֲל֣וֹא בְחָזְקֵ֔נוּ לָקַ֥חְנוּ לָ֖נוּ קַרְנָֽיִם׃ Amos Amo 6:13 You who rejoice in Lodebar, And say, "Have we not by our own strength taken Karnaim for ourselves?"(nasb) ======= Amos 6:14 ============ Amo 6:14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.(kjv) Amos 6:14 But behold, I wil raise vp against you a nation, O house of Israel, sayeth the Lorde God of hostes: and they shal afflict you, from the entring in of Hamath vnto the riuer of the wildernes.(Geneva) Amos 6:14 C'est pourquoi voici, je ferai lever contre vous, maison d'Israël, Dit l'Eternel, le Dieu des armées, une nation Qui vous opprimera depuis l'entrée de Hamath Jusqu'au torrent du désert.(FR) 14 ׃6 כִּ֡י הִנְנִי֩ מֵקִ֨ים עֲלֵיכֶ֜ם בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל נְאֻם־יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י הַצְּבָא֖וֹת גּ֑וֹי וְלָחֲצ֥וּ אֶתְכֶ֛ם מִלְּב֥וֹא חֲמָ֖ת עַד־נַ֥חַל הָעֲרָבָֽה׃ ס Amos Amo 6:14 "For behold, I am going to raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel," declares the Lord God of hosts, "And they will afflict you from the entrance of Hamath To the brook of the Arabah."
