Today's Date: ======= Mark 8:1 ============ Mar 8:1 In those days, when there was again a large crowd and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples and said to them,(nasb) Mar 8:1 ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις πάλιν πολλοῦ ὄχλου ὄντος καὶ μὴ ἐχόντων τί φάγωσιν, προσκαλεσάμενος τοὺς μαθητὰς λέγει αὐτοῖς,(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:1 In diebus illis iterum cum turba multa esset, nec haberent quod manducarent, convocatis discipulis, ait illis:(vulgate) Mar 8:1 Zu der Zeit, da viel Volks da war, und hatten nichts zu essen, rief Jesus seine Jünger zu sich und sprach zu ihnen:(dhs) Mar 8:1 In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples to Him and said to them,(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:2 ============ Mar 8:2 "I feel compassion for the people because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat.(nasb) Mar 8:2 σπλαγχνίζομαι ἐπὶ τὸν ὄχλον ὅτι ἤδη ἡμέραι τρεῖς προσμένουσίν μοι καὶ οὐκ ἔχουσιν τί φάγωσιν·(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:2 Misereor super turbam: quia ecce jam triduo sustinent me, nec habent quod manducent:(vulgate) Mar 8:2 Mich jammert des Volks; denn sie haben nun drei Tage bei mir beharrt und haben nichts zu essen;(dhs) Mar 8:2 "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:3 ============ Mar 8:3 If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from a great distance."(nasb) Mar 8:3 καὶ ἐὰν ἀπολύσω αὐτοὺς νήστεις εἰς οἶκον αὐτῶν, ἐκλυθήσονται ἐν τῇ ὁδῶ· καί τινες αὐτῶν ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἥκασιν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:3 et si dimisero eos jejunos in domum suam, deficient in via: quidam enim ex eis de longe venerunt.(vulgate) Mar 8:3 und wenn ich sie ungegessen von mir heim ließe gehen, würden sie auf dem Wege verschmachten; denn etliche sind von ferne gekommen.(dhs) Mar 8:3 And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:4 ============ Mar 8:4 And His disciples answered Him, "Where will anyone be able to find enough bread here in this desolate place to satisfy these people?"(nasb) Mar 8:4 καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ὅτι πόθεν τούτους δυνήσεταί τις ὧδε χορτάσαι ἄρτων ἐπ᾽ ἐρημίας;(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:4 Et responderunt ei discipuli sui: Unde illos quis poterit saturare panibus in solitudine?(vulgate) Mar 8:4 Seine Jünger antworteten ihm: Woher nehmen wir Brot hier in der Wüste, daß wir sie sättigen?(dhs) Mar 8:4 Then His disciples answered Him, "How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?"(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:5 ============ Mar 8:5 And He was asking them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven."(nasb) Mar 8:5 καὶ ἠρώτα αὐτούς, πόσους ἔχετε ἄρτους; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν, ἑπτά.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:5 Et interrogavit eos: Quot panes habetis? Qui dixerunt: Septem.(vulgate) Mar 8:5 Und er fragte sie: Wieviel habt ihr Brote? Sie sprachen: Sieben.(dhs) Mar 8:5 He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:6 ============ Mar 8:6 And He directed the people to sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and broke them, and started giving them to His disciples to serve to them, and they served them to the people.(nasb) Mar 8:6 καὶ παραγγέλλει τῶ ὄχλῳ ἀναπεσεῖν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς· καὶ λαβὼν τοὺς ἑπτὰ ἄρτους εὐχαριστήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ ἐδίδου τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ἵνα παρατιθῶσιν καὶ παρέθηκαν τῶ ὄχλῳ.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:6 Et præcepit turbæ discumbere super terram. Et accipiens septem panes, gratias agens fregit, et dabat discipulis suis ut apponerent, et apposuerunt turbæ.(vulgate) Mar 8:6 Und er gebot dem Volk, daß sie sich auf der Erde lagerten. Und er nahm die sieben Brote und dankte und brach sie und gab sie seinen Jüngern, daß sie dieselben vorlegten; und sie legten dem Volk vor.(dhs) Mar 8:6 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:7 ============ Mar 8:7 They also had a few small fish; and after He had blessed them, He ordered these to be served as well.(nasb) Mar 8:7 καὶ εἶχον ἰχθύδια ὀλίγα· καὶ εὐλογήσας αὐτὰ εἶπεν καὶ ταῦτα παρατιθέναι.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:7 Et habebant pisciculos paucos: et ipsos benedixit, et jussit apponi.(vulgate) Mar 8:7 Und hatten ein wenig Fischlein; und er dankte und hieß die auch vortragen.(dhs) Mar 8:7 They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:8 ============ Mar 8:8 And they ate and were satisfied; and they picked up seven large baskets full of what was left over of the broken pieces.(nasb) Mar 8:8 καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἐχορτάσθησαν, καὶ ἦραν περισσεύματα κλασμάτων ἑπτὰ σπυρίδας.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:8 Et manducaverunt, et saturati sunt, et sustulerunt quod superaverat de fragmentis, septem sportas.(vulgate) Mar 8:8 Sie aßen aber und wurden satt; und hoben die übrigen Brocken auf, sieben Körbe.(dhs) Mar 8:8 So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:9 ============ Mar 8:9 About four thousand were there; and He sent them away.(nasb) Mar 8:9 ἦσαν δὲ ὡς τετρακισχίλιοι. καὶ ἀπέλυσεν αὐτούς.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:9 Erant autem qui manducaverunt, quasi quatuor millia: et dimisit eos.~(vulgate) Mar 8:9 Und ihrer waren bei viertausend, die da gegessen hatten; und er ließ sie von sich.(dhs) Mar 8:9 Now those who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away,(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:10 ============ Mar 8:10 And immediately He entered the boat with His disciples and came to the district of Dalmanutha.(nasb) Mar 8:10 καὶ εὐθὺς ἐμβὰς εἰς τὸ πλοῖον μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ἦλθεν εἰς τὰ μέρη δαλμανουθά.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:10 Et statim ascendens navim cum discipulis suis, venit in partes Dalmanutha.(vulgate) Mar 8:10 Und alsbald trat er in ein Schiff mit seinen Jüngern und kam in die Gegend von Dalmanutha.(dhs) Mar 8:10 immediately got into the boat with His disciples, and came to the region of Dalmanutha.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:11 ============ Mar 8:11 The Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, to test Him.(nasb) Mar 8:11 καὶ ἐξῆλθον οἱ φαρισαῖοι καὶ ἤρξαντο συζητεῖν αὐτῶ, ζητοῦντες παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ σημεῖον ἀπὸ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, πειράζοντες αὐτόν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:11 Et exierunt pharisæi, et cœperunt conquirere cum eo, quærentes ab illo signum de cælo, tentantes eum.(vulgate) Mar 8:11 Und die Pharisäer gingen heraus und fingen an, sich mit ihm zu befragen, versuchten ihn und begehrten von ihm ein Zeichen vom Himmel.(dhs) Mar 8:11 Then the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:12 ============ Mar 8:12 Sighing deeply in His spirit, He said, "Why does this generation seek for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation."(nasb) Mar 8:12 καὶ ἀναστενάξας τῶ πνεύματι αὐτοῦ λέγει, τί ἡ γενεὰ αὕτη ζητεῖ σημεῖον; ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, εἰ δοθήσεται τῇ γενεᾷ ταύτῃ σημεῖον.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:12 Et ingemiscens spiritu, ait: Quid generatio ista signum quærit? Amen dico vobis, si dabitur generationi isti signum.(vulgate) Mar 8:12 Und er seufzte in seinem Geist und sprach: Was sucht doch dies Geschlecht Zeichen? Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es wird diesem Geschlecht kein Zeichen gegeben.(dhs) Mar 8:12 But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:13 ============ Mar 8:13 Leaving them, He again embarked and went away to the other side.(nasb) Mar 8:13 καὶ ἀφεὶς αὐτοὺς πάλιν ἐμβὰς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸ πέραν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:13 Et dimittens eos, ascendit iterum navim et abiit trans fretum.~(vulgate) Mar 8:13 Und er ließ sie und trat wiederum in das Schiff und fuhr herüber.(dhs) Mar 8:13 And He left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:14 ============ Mar 8:14 And they had forgotten to take bread, and did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them.(nasb) Mar 8:14 καὶ ἐπελάθοντο λαβεῖν ἄρτους, καὶ εἰ μὴ ἕνα ἄρτον οὐκ εἶχον μεθ᾽ ἑαυτῶν ἐν τῶ πλοίῳ.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:14 Et obliti sunt panes sumere: et nisi unum panem non habebant secum in navi.(vulgate) Mar 8:14 Und sie hatten vergessen, Brot mit sich zu nehmen, und hatten nicht mehr mit sich im Schiff denn ein Brot.(dhs) Mar 8:14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:15 ============ Mar 8:15 And He was giving orders to them, saying, "Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."(nasb) Mar 8:15 καὶ διεστέλλετο αὐτοῖς λέγων, ὁρᾶτε, βλέπετε ἀπὸ τῆς ζύμης τῶν φαρισαίων καὶ τῆς ζύμης ἡρῴδου.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:15 Et præcipiebat eis, dicens: Videte, et cavete a fermento pharisæorum, et fermento Herodis.(vulgate) Mar 8:15 Und er gebot ihnen und sprach: Schauet zu und sehet euch vor vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer und vor dem Sauerteig des Herodes.(dhs) Mar 8:15 Then He charged them, saying, "Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:16 ============ Mar 8:16 They began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread.(nasb) Mar 8:16 καὶ διελογίζοντο πρὸς ἀλλήλους ὅτι ἄρτους οὐκ ἔχουσιν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:16 Et cogitabant ad alterutrum, dicentes: quia panes non habemus.(vulgate) Mar 8:16 Und sie gedachten hin und her und sprachen untereinander: Das ist's, daß wir nicht Brot haben.(dhs) Mar 8:16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "It is because we have no bread."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:17 ============ Mar 8:17 And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart?(nasb) Mar 8:17 καὶ γνοὺς λέγει αὐτοῖς, τί διαλογίζεσθε ὅτι ἄρτους οὐκ ἔχετε; οὔπω νοεῖτε οὐδὲ συνίετε; πεπωρωμένην ἔχετε τὴν καρδίαν ὑμῶν;(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:17 Quo cognito, ait illis Jesus: Quid cogitatis, quia panes non habetis? nondum cognoscetis nec intelligitis? adhuc cæcatum habetis cor vestrum?(vulgate) Mar 8:17 Und Jesus merkte das und sprach zu ihnen: Was bekümmert ihr euch doch, daß ihr nicht Brot habt? Vernehmet ihr noch nichts und seid noch nicht verständig? Habt ihr noch ein erstarrtes Herz in euch?(dhs) Mar 8:17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, "Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:18 ============ Mar 8:18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember,(nasb) Mar 8:18 ὀφθαλμοὺς ἔχοντες οὐ βλέπετε καὶ ὦτα ἔχοντες οὐκ ἀκούετε; καὶ οὐ μνημονεύετε,(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:18 oculos habentes non videtis? et aures habentes non auditis? nec recordamini,(vulgate) Mar 8:18 Ihr habt Augen, und sehet nicht, und habt Ohren, und höret nicht, und denket nicht daran,(dhs) Mar 8:18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:19 ============ Mar 8:19 when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?" They said to Him, "Twelve."(nasb) Mar 8:19 ὅτε τοὺς πέντε ἄρτους ἔκλασα εἰς τοὺς πεντακισχιλίους, πόσους κοφίνους κλασμάτων πλήρεις ἤρατε; λέγουσιν αὐτῶ, δώδεκα.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:19 quando quinque panes fregi in quinque millia: quot cophinos fragmentorum plenos sustulistis? And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him.(nasb) Mar 8:22 καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς βηθσαϊδάν. καὶ φέρουσιν αὐτῶ τυφλὸν καὶ παρακαλοῦσιν αὐτὸν ἵνα αὐτοῦ ἅψηται.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:22 Et veniunt Bethsaidam, et adducunt ei cæcum, et rogabant eum ut illum tangeret.(vulgate) Mar 8:22 Und er kam gen Bethsaida. Und sie brachten zu ihm einen Blinden und baten ihn, daß er ihn anrührte.(dhs) Mar 8:22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:23 ============ Mar 8:23 Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, "Do you see anything?"(nasb) Mar 8:23 καὶ ἐπιλαβόμενος τῆς χειρὸς τοῦ τυφλοῦ ἐξήνεγκεν αὐτὸν ἔξω τῆς κώμης, καὶ πτύσας εἰς τὰ ὄμματα αὐτοῦ, ἐπιθεὶς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶ, ἐπηρώτα αὐτόν, εἴ τι βλέπεις;(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:23 Et apprehensa manu cæci, eduxit eum extra vicum: et exspuens in oculos ejus impositis manibus suis, interrogavit eum si quid videret.(vulgate) Mar 8:23 Und er nahm den Blinden bei der Hand und führte ihn hinaus vor den Flecken; spützte in seine Augen und legte seine Hände auf ihn und fragte ihn, ob er etwas sähe?(dhs) Mar 8:23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:24 ============ Mar 8:24 And he looked up and said, "I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around."(nasb) Mar 8:24 καὶ ἀναβλέψας ἔλεγεν, βλέπω τοὺς ἀνθρώπους, ὅτι ὡς δένδρα ὁρῶ περιπατοῦντας.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:24 Et aspiciens, ait: Video homines velut arbores ambulantes.(vulgate) Mar 8:24 Und er sah auf und sprach: Ich sehe Menschen gehen, als sähe ich Bäume.(dhs) Mar 8:24 And he looked up and said, "I see men like trees, walking."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:25 ============ Mar 8:25 Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.(nasb) Mar 8:25 εἶτα πάλιν ἐπέθηκεν τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ, καὶ διέβλεψεν, καὶ ἀπεκατέστη, καὶ ἐνέβλεπεν τηλαυγῶς ἅπαντα.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:25 Deinde iterum imposuit manus super oculos ejus: et cœpit videre: et restitutus est ita ut clare videret omnia.(vulgate) Mar 8:25 Darnach legte er abermals die Hände auf seine Augen und hieß ihn abermals sehen; und er ward wieder zurechtgebracht, daß er alles scharf sehen konnte.(dhs) Mar 8:25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:26 ============ Mar 8:26 And He sent him to his home, saying, "Do not even enter the village."(nasb) Mar 8:26 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὸν εἰς οἶκον αὐτοῦ λέγων, μηδὲ εἰς τὴν κώμην εἰσέλθῃς.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:26 Et misit illum in domum suam, dicens: Vade in domum tuam: et si in vicum introieris, nemini dixeris.~(vulgate) Mar 8:26 Und er schickte ihn heim und sprach: Gehe nicht hinein in den Flecken und sage es auch niemand drinnen.(dhs) Mar 8:26 Then He sent him away to his house, saying, "Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:27 ============ Mar 8:27 Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, "Who do people say that I am?"(nasb) Mar 8:27 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὰς κώμας καισαρείας τῆς φιλίππου· καὶ ἐν τῇ ὁδῶ ἐπηρώτα τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ λέγων αὐτοῖς, τίνα με λέγουσιν οἱ ἄνθρωποι εἶναι;(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:27 Et egressus est Jesus, et discipuli ejus in castella Cæsareæ Philippi: et in via interrogabat discipulos suos, dicens eis: Quem me dicunt esse homines?(vulgate) Mar 8:27 Und Jesus ging aus mit seinen Jüngern in die Märkte der Stadt Cäsarea Philippi. Und auf dem Wege fragte er seine Jünger und sprach zu ihnen: Wer sagen die Leute, daß ich sei?(dhs) Mar 8:27 Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, "Who do men say that I am?"(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:28 ============ Mar 8:28 They told Him, saying, "John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; but others, one of the prophets."(nasb) Mar 8:28 οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῶ λέγοντες [ὅτι] ἰωάννην τὸν βαπτιστήν, καὶ ἄλλοι, ἠλίαν, ἄλλοι δὲ ὅτι εἷς τῶν προφητῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:28 Qui responderunt illi, dicentes: Joannem Baptistam, alii Eliam, alii vero quasi unum de prophetis.(vulgate) Mar 8:28 Sie antworteten: Sie sagen du seiest Johannes der Täufer; etliche sagen, du seiest Elia; etliche, du seiest der Propheten einer.(dhs) Mar 8:28 So they answered, "John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets."(nkjv) ======= Mark 8:29 ============ Mar 8:29 And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said to Him, "You are the Christ."(nasb) Mar 8:29 καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπηρώτα αὐτούς, ὑμεῖς δὲ τίνα με λέγετε εἶναι; ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ πέτρος λέγει αὐτῶ, σὺ εἶ ὁ χριστός.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:29 Tunc dicit illis: Vos vero quem me esse dicitis? Respondens Petrus, ait ei: Tu es Christus.(vulgate) Mar 8:29 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr aber, wer sagt ihr, daß ich sei? Da antwortete Petrus und sprach zu ihm: Du bist Christus!(dhs) Mar 8:29 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.(nasb) Mar 8:32 καὶ παρρησίᾳ τὸν λόγον ἐλάλει. καὶ προσλαβόμενος ὁ πέτρος αὐτὸν ἤρξατο ἐπιτιμᾶν αὐτῶ.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 8:32 Et palam verbum loquebatur. Et apprehendens eum Petrus, cœpit increpare eum.(vulgate) Mar 8:32 Und er redete das Wort frei offenbar. Und Petrus nahm ihn zu sich, fing an, ihm zu wehren.(dhs) Mar 8:32 He spoke this word openly.
