And no one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain;(nasb) Mar 5:3 ὃς τὴν κατοίκησιν εἶχεν ἐν τοῖς μνήμασιν· καὶ οὐδὲ ἁλύσει οὐκέτι οὐδεὶς ἐδύνατο αὐτὸν δῆσαι,(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:3 qui domicilium habebat in monumentis, et neque catenis jam quisquam poterat eum ligare:(vulgate) Mar 5:3 der seine Wohnung in den Gräbern hatte; und niemand konnte ihn binden, auch nicht mit Ketten.(dhs) Mar 5:3 who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains,(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:4 ============ Mar 5:4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him.(nasb) Mar 5:4 διὰ τὸ αὐτὸν πολλάκις πέδαις καὶ ἁλύσεσιν δεδέσθαι καὶ διεσπάσθαι ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ τὰς ἁλύσεις καὶ τὰς πέδας συντετρῖφθαι, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἴσχυεν αὐτὸν δαμάσαι·(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:4 quoniam sæpe compedibus et catenis vinctus, dirupisset catenas, et compedes comminuisset, et nemo poterat eum domare:(vulgate) Mar 5:4 Denn er war oft mit Fesseln und Ketten gebunden gewesen, und hatte die Ketten abgerissen und die Fesseln zerrieben; und niemand konnte ihn zähmen.(dhs) Mar 5:4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. I implore You by God, do not torment me!"(nasb) Mar 5:7 καὶ κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγει, τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί, ἰησοῦ υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου; ὁρκίζω σε τὸν θεόν, μή με βασανίσῃς.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:7 et clamans voce magna dixit: Quid mihi et tibi, Jesu Fili Dei altissimi? adjuro te per Deum, ne me torqueas.(vulgate) Mar 5:7 Was habe ich mit dir zu tun, o Jesu, du Sohn Gottes, des Allerhöchsten? Ich beschwöre dich bei Gott, daß du mich nicht quälest!(dhs) Mar 5:7 And he cried out with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? And he answered, saying, "My name is Legion; for we are many."(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:10 ============ Mar 5:10 And he began to implore Him earnestly not to send them out of the country.(nasb) Mar 5:10 καὶ παρεκάλει αὐτὸν πολλὰ ἵνα μὴ αὐτὰ ἀποστείλῃ ἔξω τῆς χώρας.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:10 Et deprecabatur eum multum, ne se expelleret extra regionem.(vulgate) Mar 5:10 Und er bat ihn sehr, daß er sie nicht aus der Gegend triebe.(dhs) Mar 5:10 Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:11 ============ Mar 5:11 Now there was a large herd of swine feeding nearby on the mountain.(nasb) Mar 5:11 ἦν δὲ ἐκεῖ πρὸς τῶ ὄρει ἀγέλη χοίρων μεγάλη βοσκομένη·(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:11 Erat autem ibi circa montem grex porcorum magnus, pascens.(vulgate) Mar 5:11 Und es war daselbst an den Bergen eine große Herde Säue auf der Weide.(dhs) Mar 5:11 Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:12 ============ Mar 5:12 The demons implored Him, saying, "Send us into the swine so that we may enter them."(nasb) Mar 5:12 καὶ παρεκάλεσαν αὐτὸν λέγοντες, πέμψον ἡμᾶς εἰς τοὺς χοίρους, ἵνα εἰς αὐτοὺς εἰσέλθωμεν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:12 Et deprecabantur eum spiritus, dicentes: Mitte nos in porcos ut in eos introëamus.(vulgate) Mar 5:12 Und die Teufel baten ihn alle und sprachen: Laß uns in die Säue fahren!(dhs) Mar 5:12 So all the demons begged Him, saying, "Send us to the swine, that we may enter them."(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:13 ============ Mar 5:13 Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea.(nasb) Mar 5:13 καὶ ἐπέτρεψεν αὐτοῖς. καὶ ἐξελθόντα τὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἀκάθαρτα εἰσῆλθον εἰς τοὺς χοίρους, καὶ ὥρμησεν ἡ ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, ὡς δισχίλιοι, καὶ ἐπνίγοντο ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:13 Et concessit eis statim Jesus. Et exeuntes spiritus immundi introierunt in porcos: et magno impetu grex præcipitatus est in mare ad duo millia, et suffocati sunt in mari.(vulgate) Mar 5:13 Und alsbald erlaubte es ihnen Jesus. Da fuhren die unsauberen Geister aus und fuhren in die Säue; und die Herde stürzte sich von dem Abhang ins Meer (ihrer waren aber bei zweitausend) und ersoffen im Meer.(dhs) Mar 5:13 And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:14 ============ Mar 5:14 Their herdsmen ran away and reported it in the city and in the country. And the people came to see what it was that had happened.(nasb) Mar 5:14 καὶ οἱ βόσκοντες αὐτοὺς ἔφυγον καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ εἰς τοὺς ἀγρούς· καὶ ἦλθον ἰδεῖν τί ἐστιν τὸ γεγονός.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:14 Qui autem pascebant eos, fugerunt, et nuntiaverunt in civitatem et in agros. Et egressi sunt videre quid esset factum:(vulgate) Mar 5:14 Und die Sauhirten flohen und verkündigten das in der Stadt und auf dem Lande. Und sie gingen hinaus, zu sehen, was da geschehen war,(dhs) Mar 5:14 So those who fed the swine fled, and they told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had happened.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:15 ============ Mar 5:15 They came to Jesus and observed the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had had the "legion"; and they became frightened.(nasb) Mar 5:15 καὶ ἔρχονται πρὸς τὸν ἰησοῦν, καὶ θεωροῦσιν τὸν δαιμονιζόμενον καθήμενον ἱματισμένον καὶ σωφρονοῦντα, τὸν ἐσχηκότα τὸν λεγιῶνα, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:15 et veniunt ad Jesum: et vident illum qui a dæmonio vexabatur, sedentem, vestitum, et sanæ mentis, et timuerunt.(vulgate) Mar 5:15 und kamen zu Jesu und sahen den, der von den Teufeln besessen war, daß er saß und war bekleidet und vernünftig, und fürchteten sich.(dhs) Mar 5:15 Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:16 ============ Mar 5:16 Those who had seen it described to them how it had happened to the demon-possessed man, and all about the swine.(nasb) Mar 5:16 καὶ διηγήσαντο αὐτοῖς οἱ ἰδόντες πῶς ἐγένετο τῶ δαιμονιζομένῳ καὶ περὶ τῶν χοίρων.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:16 Et narraverunt illis, qui viderant, qualiter factum esset ei qui dæmonium habuerat, et de porcis.(vulgate) Mar 5:16 Und die es gesehen hatten, sagten ihnen, was dem Besessenen widerfahren war, und von den Säuen.(dhs) Mar 5:16 And those who saw it told them how it happened to him who had been demon-possessed, and about the swine.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:17 ============ Mar 5:17 And they began to implore Him to leave their region.(nasb) Mar 5:17 καὶ ἤρξαντο παρακαλεῖν αὐτὸν ἀπελθεῖν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:17 Et rogare cœperunt eum ut discederet de finibus eorum.(vulgate) Mar 5:17 Und sie fingen an und baten ihn, daß er aus ihrer Gegend zöge.(dhs) Mar 5:17 Then they began to plead with Him to depart from their region.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:18 ============ Mar 5:18 As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed was imploring Him that he might accompany Him.(nasb) Mar 5:18 καὶ ἐμβαίνοντος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πλοῖον παρεκάλει αὐτὸν ὁ δαιμονισθεὶς ἵνα μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ᾖ.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:18 Cumque ascenderet navim, cœpit illum deprecari, qui a dæmonio vexatus fuerat, ut esset cum illo,(vulgate) Mar 5:18 Und da er in das Schiff trat, bat ihn der Besessene, daß er möchte bei ihm sein.(dhs) Mar 5:18 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:19 ============ Mar 5:19 And He did not let him, but He said to him, "Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you."(nasb) Mar 5:19 καὶ οὐκ ἀφῆκεν αὐτόν, ἀλλὰ λέγει αὐτῶ, ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου πρὸς τοὺς σούς, καὶ ἀπάγγειλον αὐτοῖς ὅσα ὁ κύριός σοι πεποίηκεν καὶ ἠλέησέν σε.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:19 et non admisit eum, sed ait illi: Vade in domum tuam ad tuos, et annuntia illis quanta tibi Dominus fecerit, et misertus sit tui.(vulgate) Mar 5:19 Aber Jesus ließ es nicht zu, sondern sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin in dein Haus und zu den Deinen und verkündige ihnen, wie große Wohltat dir der HERR getan und sich deiner erbarmt hat.(dhs) Mar 5:19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, "Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you."(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:20 ============ Mar 5:20 And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.(nasb) Mar 5:20 καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ ἤρξατο κηρύσσειν ἐν τῇ δεκαπόλει ὅσα ἐποίησεν αὐτῶ ὁ ἰησοῦς, καὶ πάντες ἐθαύμαζον.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:20 Et abiit, et cœpit prædicare in Decapoli, quanta sibi fecisset Jesus: et omnes mirabantur.(vulgate) Mar 5:20 Und er ging hin und fing an, auszurufen in den zehn Städten, wie große Wohltat ihm Jesus getan hatte; und jedermann verwunderte sich.(dhs) Mar 5:20 And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:21 ============ Mar 5:21 When Jesus had crossed over again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him; and so He stayed by the seashore.(nasb) Mar 5:21 καὶ διαπεράσαντος τοῦ ἰησοῦ [ἐν τῶ πλοίῳ] πάλιν εἰς τὸ πέραν συνήχθη ὄχλος πολὺς ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν, καὶ ἦν παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:21 Et cum transcendisset Jesus in navi rursum trans fretum, convenit turba multa ad eum, et erat circa mare.~(vulgate) Mar 5:21 Und da Jesus wieder herüberfuhr im Schiff, versammelte sich viel Volks zu ihm, und er war an dem Meer.(dhs) Mar 5:21 Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:22 ============ Mar 5:22 One of the synagogue officials named Jairus came up, and on seeing Him, fell at His feet(nasb) Mar 5:22 καὶ ἔρχεται εἷς τῶν ἀρχισυναγώγων, ὀνόματι ἰάϊρος, καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὸν πίπτει πρὸς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:22 Et venit quidam de archisynagogis nomine Jairus, et videns eum procidit ad pedes ejus,(vulgate) Mar 5:22 Und siehe, da kam der Obersten einer von der Schule, mit Namen Jairus; und da er ihn sah, fiel er ihm zu Füßen(dhs) Mar 5:22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:23 ============ Mar 5:23 and implored Him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live."(nasb) Mar 5:23 καὶ παρακαλεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ λέγων ὅτι τὸ θυγάτριόν μου ἐσχάτως ἔχει, ἵνα ἐλθὼν ἐπιθῇς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῇ ἵνα σωθῇ καὶ ζήσῃ.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:23 et deprecabatur eum multum, dicens: Quoniam filia mea in extremis est, veni, impone manum super eam, ut salva sit, et vivat.(vulgate) Mar 5:23 und bat ihn sehr und sprach: Meine Tochter ist in den letzten Zügen; Du wollest kommen und deine Hand auf sie legen, daß sie gesund werde und lebe.(dhs) Mar 5:23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live."(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:24 ============ Mar 5:24 And He went off with him; and a large crowd was following Him and pressing in on Him.(nasb) Mar 5:24 καὶ ἀπῆλθεν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ. καὶ ἠκολούθει αὐτῶ ὄχλος πολύς, καὶ συνέθλιβον αὐτόν.(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:24 Et abiit cum illo, et sequebatur eum turba multa, et comprimebant eum.(vulgate) Mar 5:24 Und er ging hin mit ihm; und es folgte ihm viel Volks nach, und sie drängten ihn.(dhs) Mar 5:24 So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:25 ============ Mar 5:25 A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years,(nasb) Mar 5:25 καὶ γυνὴ οὗσα ἐν ῥύσει αἵματος δώδεκα ἔτη(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:25 Et mulier, quæ erat in profluvio sanguinis annis duodecim,(vulgate) Mar 5:25 Und da war ein Weib, das hatte den Blutgang zwölf Jahre gehabt(dhs) Mar 5:25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,(nkjv) ======= Mark 5:26 ============ Mar 5:26 and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse--(nasb) Mar 5:26 καὶ πολλὰ παθοῦσα ὑπὸ πολλῶν ἰατρῶν καὶ δαπανήσασα τὰ παρ᾽ αὐτῆς πάντα καὶ μηδὲν ὠφεληθεῖσα ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον εἰς τὸ χεῖρον ἐλθοῦσα,(Nestle-Aland) Mar 5:26 et fuerat multa perpessa a compluribus medicis: et erogaverat omnia sua, nec quidquam profecerat, sed magis deterius habebat:(vulgate) Mar 5:26 und viel erlitten von vielen Ärzten und hatte all ihr Gut darob verzehrt, und half ihr nichts, sondern vielmehr ward es ärger mit ihr.(dhs) Mar 5:26 and had suffered many things from many physicians.
