Today's Date: ======= Genesis 15:1 ============ Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great."(nasb) Gen 15:1 His itaque transactis, factus est sermo Domini ad Abram per visionem dicens: Noli timere, Abram: ego protector tuus sum, et merces tua magna nimis.(vulgate) Génesis 15:1 Después de estas cosas vino la palabra de Jehová a Abram en visión, diciendo: No temas, Abram; yo [soy] tu escudo, [y soy] tu galardón sobremanera grande.(E) Genèse 15:1 Après ces événements, la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Abram dans une vision, et il dit: Abram, ne crains point; je suis ton bouclier, et ta récompense sera très grande.(F) Gen 15:1 Nach diesen Geschichten begab sich's, daß zu Abram geschah das Wort des HERRN im Gesicht und sprach: Fürchte dich nicht Abram! Ich bin dein Schild und dein sehr großer Lohn.(D) Gen 15:1 μετὰ δὲ τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα ἐγενήθη ῥῆμα κυρίου πρὸς Αβραμ ἐν ὁράματι λέγων μὴ φοβοῦ Αβραμ ἐγὼ ὑπερασπίζω σου ὁ μισθός σου πολὺς ἔσται σφόδρα(lxx) Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:2 ============ Gen 15:2 Abram said, "O Lord God, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?"(nasb) Gen 15:2 Dixitque Abram: Domine Deus, quid dabis mihi? ego vadam absque liberis, et filius procuratoris domus meæ iste Damascus Eliezer.(vulgate) Génesis 15:2 Y respondió Abram: Señor Jehová ¿qué me has de dar, siendo así que ando sin hijos, y el mayordomo de mi casa [es] ese damasceno Eliezer?(E) Genèse 15:2 Abram répondit: Seigneur Eternel, que me donneras-tu? Je m'en vais sans enfants; et l'héritier de ma maison, c'est Eliézer de Damas.(F) Gen 15:2 Abram sprach aber: HERR HERR, was willst du mir geben? Ich gehe dahin ohne Kinder; und dieser Elieser von Damaskus wird mein Haus besitzen.(D) Gen 15:2 λέγει δὲ Αβραμ δέσποτα τί μοι δώσεις ἐγὼ δὲ ἀπολύομαι ἄτεκνος ὁ δὲ υἱὸς Μασεκ τῆς οἰκογενοῦς μου οὗτος Δαμασκὸς Ελιεζερ(lxx) Gen 15:2 But Abram said, "Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:3 ============ Gen 15:3 And Abram said, "Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir."(nasb) Gen 15:3 Addiditque Abram: Mihi autem non dedisti semen, et ecce vernaculus meus, hæres meus erit.(vulgate) Génesis 15:3 Dijo más Abram: Mira que no me has dado hijos, y he aquí que es mi heredero uno nacido en mi casa.(E) Genèse 15:3 Et Abram dit: Voici, tu ne m'as pas donné de postérité, et celui qui est né dans ma maison sera mon héritier.(F) Gen 15:3 Und Abram sprach weiter: Mir hast du keinen Samen gegeben; und siehe, einer von meinem Gesinde soll mein Erbe sein.(D) Gen 15:3 καὶ εἶπεν Αβραμ ἐπειδὴ ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἔδωκας σπέρμα ὁ δὲ οἰκογενής μου κληρονομήσει με(lxx) Gen 15:3 Then Abram said, "Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:4 ============ Gen 15:4 Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, "This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir."(nasb) Gen 15:4 Statimque sermo Domini factus est ad eum, dicens: Non erit hic hæres tuus, sed qui egredietur de utero tuo, ipsum habebis hæredem.(vulgate) Génesis 15:4 Y luego [vino] a él la palabra de Jehová, diciendo: No te heredará éste, sino el que saldrá de tus entrañas será el que te herede.(E) Genèse 15:4 Alors la parole de l'Eternel lui fut adressée ainsi: Ce n'est pas lui qui sera ton héritier, mais c'est celui qui sortira de tes entrailles qui sera ton héritier.(F) Gen 15:4 Und siehe, der HERR sprach zu ihm: Er soll nicht dein Erbe sein; sondern der von deinem Leib kommen wird, der soll dein Erbe sein.(D) Gen 15:4 καὶ εὐθὺς φωνὴ κυρίου ἐγένετο πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων οὐ κληρονομήσει σε οὗτος ἀλλ᾽ ὃς ἐξελεύσεται ἐκ σοῦ οὗτος κληρονομήσει σε(lxx) Gen 15:4 And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, "This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:5 ============ Gen 15:5 And He took him outside and said, "Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be."(nasb) Gen 15:5 Eduxitque eum foras, et ait illi: Suscipe cælum, et numera stellas, si potes. Et dixit ei: Sic erit semen tuum.(vulgate) Génesis 15:5 Y le llevó fuera, y dijo: Mira ahora a los cielos, y cuenta las estrellas, si las puedes contar. Y le dijo: Así será tu simiente.(E) Genèse 15:5 Et après l'avoir conduit dehors, il dit: Regarde vers le ciel, et compte les étoiles, si tu peux les compter. Et il lui dit: Telle sera ta postérité.(F) Gen 15:5 Und er hieß ihn hinausgehen und sprach: Siehe gen Himmel und zähle die Sterne; kannst du sie zählen? und sprach zu ihm: Also soll dein Same werden.(D) Gen 15:5 ἐξήγαγεν δὲ αὐτὸν ἔξω καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἀνάβλεψον δὴ εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἀρίθμησον τοὺς ἀστέρας εἰ δυνήσῃ ἐξαριθμῆσαι αὐτούς καὶ εἶπεν οὕτως ἔσται τὸ σπέρμα σου(lxx) Gen 15:5 Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:6 ============ Gen 15:6 Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.(nasb) Gen 15:6 Credidit Abram Deo, et reputatum est illi ad justitiam.(vulgate) Génesis 15:6 Y creyó a Jehová, y Él se lo contó por justicia.(E) Genèse 15:6 Abram eut confiance en l'Eternel, qui le lui imputa à justice.(F) Gen 15:6 Abram glaubte dem HERRN, und das rechnete er ihm zur Gerechtigkeit.(D) Gen 15:6 καὶ ἐπίστευσεν Αβραμ τῷ θεῷ καὶ ἐλογίσθη αὐτῷ εἰς δικαιοσύνην(lxx) Gen 15:6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:7 ============ Gen 15:7 And He said to him, "I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess it."(nasb) Gen 15:7 Dixitque ad eum: Ego Dominus qui eduxi te de Ur Chaldæorum ut darem tibi terram istam, et possideres eam.(vulgate) Génesis 15:7 Y le dijo: Yo [soy] Jehová, que te saqué de Ur de los caldeos, para darte a heredar esta tierra.(E) Genèse 15:7 L'Eternel lui dit encore: Je suis l'Eternel, qui t'ai fait sortir d'Ur en Chaldée, pour te donner en possession ce pays.(F) Gen 15:7 Und er sprach zu ihm: Ich bin der HERR, der dich von Ur in Chaldäa ausgeführt hat, daß ich dir dies Land zu besitzen gebe.(D) Gen 15:7 εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτόν ἐγὼ ὁ θεὸς ὁ ἐξαγαγών σε ἐκ χώρας Χαλδαίων ὥστε δοῦναί σοι τὴν γῆν ταύτην κληρονομῆσαι(lxx) Gen 15:7 Then He said to him, "I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:8 ============ Gen 15:8 He said, "O Lord God, how may I know that I will possess it?"(nasb) Gen 15:8 At ille ait: Domine Deus, unde scire possum quod possessurus sim eam?(vulgate) Génesis 15:8 Y él respondió: Señor Jehová ¿en qué conoceré que la he de heredar?(E) Genèse 15:8 Abram répondit: Seigneur Eternel, à quoi connaîtrai-je que je le posséderai?(F) Gen 15:8 Abram aber sprach: HERR HERR, woran soll ich merken, daß ich's besitzen werde?(D) Gen 15:8 εἶπεν δέ δέσποτα κύριε κατὰ τί γνώσομαι ὅτι κληρονομήσω αὐτήν(lxx) Gen 15:8 And he said, "Lord God, how shall I know that I will inherit it?"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:9 ============ Gen 15:9 So He said to him, "Bring Me a three year old heifer, and a three year old female goat, and a three year old ram, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon."(nasb) Gen 15:9 Et respondens Dominus: Sume, inquit, mihi vaccam triennem, et capram trimam, et arietem annorum trium, turturem quoque et columbam.(vulgate) Génesis 15:9 Y le dijo: Apártame una becerra de tres años, y una cabra de tres años, y un carnero de tres años, una tórtola también, y un palomino.(E) Genèse 15:9 Et l'Eternel lui dit: Prends une génisse de trois ans, une chèvre de trois ans, un bélier de trois ans, une tourterelle et une jeune colombe.(F) Gen 15:9 Und er sprach zu ihm: Bringe mir eine dreijährige Kuh und eine dreijährige Ziege und einen dreijährigen Widder und eine Turteltaube und eine junge Taube.(D) Gen 15:9 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ λαβέ μοι δάμαλιν τριετίζουσαν καὶ αἶγα τριετίζουσαν καὶ κριὸν τριετίζοντα καὶ τρυγόνα καὶ περιστεράν(lxx) Gen 15:9 So He said to him, "Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:10 ============ Gen 15:10 Then he brought all these to Him and cut them in two, and laid each half opposite the other; but he did not cut the birds.(nasb) Gen 15:10 Qui tollens universa hæc, divisit ea per medium, et utrasque partes contra se altrinsecus posuit; aves autem non divisit.(vulgate) Génesis 15:10 Y tomó él todas estas cosas, y las partió por la mitad, y puso cada mitad una enfrente de otra; mas no partió las aves.(E) Genèse 15:10 Abram prit tous ces animaux, les coupa par le milieu, et mit chaque morceau l'un vis-à-vis de l'autre; mais il ne partagea point les oiseaux.(F) Gen 15:10 Und er brachte ihm solches alles und zerteilte es mitten voneinander und legte einen Teil dem andern gegenüber; aber die Vögel zerteilte er nicht.(D) Gen 15:10 ἔλαβεν δὲ αὐτῷ πάντα ταῦτα καὶ διεῖλεν αὐτὰ μέσα καὶ ἔθηκεν αὐτὰ ἀντιπρόσωπα ἀλλήλοις τὰ δὲ ὄρνεα οὐ διεῖλεν(lxx) Gen 15:10 Then he brought all these to Him and cut them in two, down the middle, and placed each piece opposite the other; but he did not cut the birds in two.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:11 ============ Gen 15:11 The birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away.(nasb) Gen 15:11 Descenderuntque volucres super cadavera, et abigebat eas Abram.(vulgate) Génesis 15:11 Y descendían aves sobre los cuerpos muertos, y Abram las ahuyentaba.(E) Genèse 15:11 Les oiseaux de proie s'abattirent sur les cadavres; et Abram les chassa.(F) Gen 15:11 Und die Raubvögel fielen auf die Aase; aber Abram scheuchte sie davon.(D) Gen 15:11 κατέβη δὲ ὄρνεα ἐπὶ τὰ σώματα τὰ διχοτομήματα αὐτῶν καὶ συνεκάθισεν αὐτοῖς Αβραμ(lxx) Gen 15:11 And when the vultures came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:12 ============ Gen 15:12 Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, terror and great darkness fell upon him.(nasb) Gen 15:12 Cumque sol occumberet, sopor irruit super Abram, et horror magnus et tenebrosus invasit eum.(vulgate) Génesis 15:12 Mas a la caída del sol sobrecogió el sueño a Abram, y he aquí que el pavor de una grande oscuridad cayó sobre él.(E) Genèse 15:12 Au coucher du soleil, un profond sommeil tomba sur Abram; et voici, une frayeur et une grande obscurité vinrent l'assaillir.(F) Gen 15:12 Da nun die Sonne am Untergehen war, fiel ein tiefer Schlaf auf Abram; und siehe, Schrecken und große Finsternis überfiel ihn.(D) Gen 15:12 περὶ δὲ ἡλίου δυσμὰς ἔκστασις ἐπέπεσεν τῷ Αβραμ καὶ ἰδοὺ φόβος σκοτεινὸς μέγας ἐπιπίπτει αὐτῷ(lxx) Gen 15:12 Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:13 ============ Gen 15:13 God said to Abram, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years.(nasb) Gen 15:13 Dictumque est ad eum: Scito prænoscens quod peregrinum futurum sit semen tuum in terra non sua, et subjicient eos servituti, et affligent quadringentis annis.(vulgate) Génesis 15:13 Entonces dijo a Abram: Ten por cierto que tu simiente será peregrina en tierra no suya, y servirá a los [de allí] y será afligida por cuatrocientos años.(E) Genèse 15:13 Et l'Eternel dit à Abram: Sache que tes descendants seront étrangers dans un pays qui ne sera point à eux; ils y seront asservis, et on les opprimera pendant quatre cents ans.(F) Gen 15:13 Da sprach er zu Abram: Das sollst du wissen, daß dein Same wird fremd sein in einem Lande, das nicht sein ist; und da wird man sie zu dienen zwingen und plagen vierhundert Jahre.(D) Gen 15:13 καὶ ἐρρέθη πρὸς Αβραμ γινώσκων γνώσῃ ὅτι πάροικον ἔσται τὸ σπέρμα σου ἐν γῇ οὐκ ἰδίᾳ καὶ δουλώσουσιν αὐτοὺς καὶ κακώσουσιν αὐτοὺς καὶ ταπεινώσουσιν αὐτοὺς τετρακόσια ἔτη(lxx) Gen 15:13 Then He said to Abram: "Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:14 ============ Gen 15:14 But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions.(nasb) Gen 15:14 Verumtamen gentem, cui servituri sunt, ego judicabo: et post hæc egredientur cum magna substantia.(vulgate) Génesis 15:14 Mas también a la nación a quien servirán, juzgaré yo; you shall be buried at a good old age.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:16 ============ Gen 15:16 Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete."(nasb) Gen 15:16 Generatione autem quarta revertentur huc: necdum enim completæ sunt iniquitates Amorrhæorum usque ad præsens tempus.(vulgate) Génesis 15:16 Y en la cuarta generación volverán acá; porque la maldad del amorreo aún no [ha llegado] a su colmo.(E) Genèse 15:16 A la quatrième génération, ils reviendront ici; car l'iniquité des Amoréens n'est pas encore à son comble.(F) Gen 15:16 Sie aber sollen nach vier Mannesaltern wieder hierher kommen; denn die Missetat der Amoriter ist noch nicht voll.(D) Gen 15:16 τετάρτη δὲ γενεὰ ἀποστραφήσονται ὧδε οὔπω γὰρ ἀναπεπλήρωνται αἱ ἁμαρτίαι τῶν Αμορραίων ἕως τοῦ νῦν(lxx) Gen 15:16 But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 15:17 ============ Gen 15:17 It came about when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a flaming torch which passed between these pieces.(nasb) Gen 15:17 Cum ergo occubuisset sol, facta est caligo tenebrosa, et apparuit clibanus fumans, et lampas ignis transiens inter divisiones illas.(vulgate) Génesis 15:17 Y sucedió que puesto el sol, y ya oscurecido, se dejó ver un horno humeando, y una antorcha de fuego que pasó por entre los animales divididos.(E) Genèse 15:17 Quand le soleil fut couché, il y eut une obscurité profonde;
