Today's Date: ======= Genesis 17:1 ============ Gen 17:1 Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.(nasb) Gen 17:1 Postquam vero nonaginta et novem annorum esse cœperat, apparuit ei Dominus, dixitque ad eum: Ego Deus omnipotens: ambula coram me, et esto perfectus.(vulgate) Génesis 17:1 Y siendo Abram de edad de noventa y nueve años, Jehová apareció a Abram, y le dijo: Yo [soy] el Dios Todopoderoso; anda delante de mí, y sé perfecto.(E) Genèse 17:1 Lorsque Abram fut âgé de quatre-vingt-dix-neuf ans, l'Eternel apparut à Abram, et lui dit: Je suis le Dieu tout-puissant. Marche devant ma face, et sois intègre.(F) Gen 17:1 Als nun Abram neunundneunzig Jahre alt war, erschien ihm der HERR und sprach zu ihm: Ich bin der allmächtige Gott; wandle vor mir und sei fromm.(D) Gen 17:1 ἐγένετο δὲ Αβραμ ἐτῶν ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα καὶ ὤφθη κύριος τῷ Αβραμ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεός σου εὐαρέστει ἐναντίον ἐμοῦ καὶ γίνου ἄμεμπτος(lxx) Gen 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:2 ============ Gen 17:2 "I will establish My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly."(nasb) Gen 17:2 Ponamque fœdus meum inter me et te, et multiplicabo te vehementer nimis.(vulgate) Génesis 17:2 Y yo estableceré mi pacto contigo, y te multiplicaré en gran manera.(E) Genèse 17:2 J'établirai mon alliance entre moi et toi, et je te multiplierai à l'infini.(F) Gen 17:2 Und ich will meinen Bund zwischen mir und dir machen und ich will dich gar sehr mehren.(D) Gen 17:2 καὶ θήσομαι τὴν διαθήκην μου ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον σοῦ καὶ πληθυνῶ σε σφόδρα(lxx) Gen 17:2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:3 ============ Gen 17:3 Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,(nasb) Gen 17:3 Cecidit Abram pronus in faciem.(vulgate) Génesis 17:3 Entonces Abram cayó sobre su rostro, y Dios habló con él diciendo:(E) Genèse 17:3 Abram tomba sur sa face; et Dieu lui parla, en disant:(F) Gen 17:3 Da fiel Abram auf sein Angesicht. Und Gott redete weiter mit ihm und sprach:(D) Gen 17:3 καὶ ἔπεσεν Αβραμ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεὸς λέγων(lxx) Gen 17:3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying:(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:4 ============ Gen 17:4 "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And you will be the father of a multitude of nations.(nasb) Gen 17:4 Dixitque ei Deus: Ego sum, et pactum meum tecum, erisque pater multarum gentium.(vulgate) Génesis 17:4 He aquí mi pacto [es] contigo: Serás padre de muchas naciones:(E) Genèse 17:4 Voici mon alliance, que je fais avec toi. Tu deviendras père d'une multitude de nations.(F) Gen 17:4 Siehe, ich bin's und habe meinen Bund mit dir, und du sollst ein Vater vieler Völker werden.(D) Gen 17:4 καὶ ἐγὼ ἰδοὺ ἡ διαθήκη μου μετὰ σοῦ καὶ ἔσῃ πατὴρ πλήθους ἐθνῶν(lxx) Gen 17:4 "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:5 ============ Gen 17:5 "No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.(nasb) Gen 17:5 Nec ultra vocabitur nomen tuum Abram, sed appellaberis Abraham: quia patrem multarum gentium constitui te.(vulgate) Génesis 17:5 Y no se llamará más tu nombre Abram, sino que será tu nombre Abraham, porque te he puesto por padre de muchedumbre de gentes.(E) Genèse 17:5 On ne t'appellera plus Abram; mais ton nom sera Abraham, car je te rends père d'une multitude de nations.(F) Gen 17:5 Darum sollst du nicht mehr Abram heißen, sondern Abraham soll dein Name sein; denn ich habe dich gemacht zum Vater vieler Völker(D) Gen 17:5 καὶ οὐ κληθήσεται ἔτι τὸ ὄνομά σου Αβραμ ἀλλ᾽ ἔσται τὸ ὄνομά σου Αβρααμ ὅτι πατέρα πολλῶν ἐθνῶν τέθεικά σε(lxx) Gen 17:5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:6 ============ Gen 17:6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you.(nasb) Gen 17:6 Faciamque te crescere vehementissime, et ponam te in gentibus, regesque ex te egredientur.(vulgate) Génesis 17:6 Y te multiplicaré mucho en gran manera, y de ti haré naciones, y reyes saldrán de ti.(E) Genèse 17:6 Je te rendrai fécond à l'infini, je ferai de toi des nations; et des rois sortiront de toi.(F) Gen 17:6 und will dich gar sehr fruchtbar machen und will von dir Völker machen, und sollen auch Könige von dir kommen.(D) Gen 17:6 καὶ αὐξανῶ σε σφόδρα σφόδρα καὶ θήσω σε εἰς ἔθνη καὶ βασιλεῖς ἐκ σοῦ ἐξελεύσονται(lxx) Gen 17:6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:7 ============ Gen 17:7 I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.(nasb) Gen 17:7 Et statuam pactum meum inter me et te, et inter semen tuum post te in generationibus suis, fœdere sempiterno: ut sim Deus tuus, et seminis tui post te.(vulgate) Génesis 17:7 Y estableceré mi pacto contigo y [con] tu simiente después de ti en sus generaciones, por pacto perpetuo, para ser Dios tuyo y de tu simiente después de ti.(E) Genèse 17:7 J'établirai mon alliance entre moi et toi, et tes descendants après toi, selon leurs générations: ce sera une alliance perpétuelle, en vertu de laquelle je serai ton Dieu et celui de ta postérité après toi.(F) Gen 17:7 Und ich will aufrichten meinen Bund zwischen mir und dir und deinem Samen nach dir, bei ihren Nachkommen, daß es ein ewiger Bund sei, also daß ich dein Gott sei und deines Samens nach dir,(D) Gen 17:7 καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον σοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σπέρματός σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς γενεὰς αὐτῶν εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον εἶναί σου θεὸς καὶ τοῦ σπέρματός σου μετὰ σέ(lxx) Gen 17:7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:8 ============ Gen 17:8 I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."(nasb) Gen 17:8 Daboque tibi et semini tuo terram peregrinationis tuæ, omnem terram Chanaan in possessionem æternam, eroque Deus eorum.~(vulgate) Génesis 17:8 Y te daré a ti, y a tu simiente después de ti, la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, toda la tierra de Canaán en heredad perpetua; y seré el Dios de ellos.(E) Genèse 17:8 Je te donnerai, et à tes descendants après toi, le pays que tu habites comme étranger, tout le pays de Canaan, en possession perpétuelle, et je serai leur Dieu.(F) Gen 17:8 und ich will dir und deinem Samen nach dir geben das Land, darin du ein Fremdling bist, das ganze Land Kanaan, zu ewiger Besitzung, und will ihr Gott sein.(D) Gen 17:8 καὶ δώσω σοι καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου μετὰ σὲ τὴν γῆν ἣν παροικεῖς πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν Χανααν εἰς κατάσχεσιν αἰώνιον καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς θεός(lxx) Gen 17:8 Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:9 ============ Gen 17:9 God said further to Abraham, "Now as for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.(nasb) Gen 17:9 Dixit iterum Deus ad Abraham: Et tu ergo custodies pactum meum, et semen tuum post te in generationibus suis.(vulgate) Génesis 17:9 Y dijo Dios a Abraham: Tú guardarás mi pacto, tú y tu simiente después de ti en sus generaciones.(E) Genèse 17:9 Dieu dit à Abraham: Toi, tu garderas mon alliance, toi et tes descendants après toi, selon leurs générations.(F) Gen 17:9 Und Gott sprach zu Abraham: So halte nun meinen Bund, du und dein Same nach dir, bei ihren Nachkommen.(D) Gen 17:9 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Αβρααμ σὺ δὲ τὴν διαθήκην μου διατηρήσεις σὺ καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς τὰς γενεὰς αὐτῶν(lxx) Gen 17:9 And God said to Abraham: "As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:10 ============ Gen 17:10 This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: every male among you shall be circumcised.(nasb) Gen 17:10 Hoc est pactum meum quod observabitis inter me et vos, et semen tuum post te: circumcidetur ex vobis omne masculinum:(vulgate) Génesis 17:10 Éste [es] mi pacto, que guardaréis entre mí y vosotros y tu simiente después de ti: Será circuncidado todo varón de entre vosotros.(E) Genèse 17:10 C'est ici mon alliance, que vous garderez entre moi et vous, et ta postérité après toi: tout mâle parmi vous sera circoncis.(F) Gen 17:10 Das ist aber mein Bund, den ihr halten sollt zwischen mir und euch und deinem Samen nach dir: Alles, was männlich ist unter euch, soll beschnitten werden.(D) Gen 17:10 καὶ αὕτη ἡ διαθήκη ἣν διατηρήσεις ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σπέρματός σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς τὰς γενεὰς αὐτῶν περιτμηθήσεται ὑμῶν πᾶν ἀρσενικόν(lxx) Gen 17:10 This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised;(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:11 ============ Gen 17:11 And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you.(nasb) Gen 17:11 et circumcidetis carnem præputii vestri, ut sit in signum fœderis inter me et vos.(vulgate) Génesis 17:11 Circuncidaréis, pues, la carne de vuestro prepucio, y será por señal del pacto entre mí y vosotros.(E) Genèse 17:11 Vous vous circoncirez; et ce sera un signe d'alliance entre moi et vous.(F) Gen 17:11 Ihr sollt aber die Vorhaut an eurem Fleisch beschneiden. Das soll ein Zeichen sein des Bundes zwischen mir und euch.(D) Gen 17:11 καὶ περιτμηθήσεσθε τὴν σάρκα τῆς ἀκροβυστίας ὑμῶν καὶ ἔσται ἐν σημείῳ διαθήκης ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ὑμῶν(lxx) Gen 17:11 and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:12 ============ Gen 17:12 And every male among you who is eight days old shall be circumcised throughout your generations, a servant who is born in the house or who is bought with money from any foreigner, who is not of your descendants.(nasb) Gen 17:12 Infans octo dierum circumcidetur in vobis, omne masculinum in generationibus vestris: tam vernaculus, quam emptitius circumcidetur, et quicumque non fuerit de stirpe vestra:(vulgate) Génesis 17:12 Y de edad de ocho días será circuncidado todo varón entre vosotros en vuestras generaciones; el nacido en casa, y el comprado por dinero de cualquier extranjero, que no [fuere] de tu simiente.(E) Genèse 17:12 A l'âge de huit jours, tout mâle parmi vous sera circoncis, selon vos générations, qu'il soit né dans la maison, ou qu'il soit acquis à prix d'argent de tout fils d'étranger, sans appartenir à ta race.(F) Gen 17:12 Ein jegliches Knäblein, wenn's acht Tage alt ist, sollt ihr beschneiden bei euren Nachkommen.(D) Gen 17:12 καὶ παιδίον ὀκτὼ ἡμερῶν περιτμηθήσεται ὑμῖν πᾶν ἀρσενικὸν εἰς τὰς γενεὰς ὑμῶν ὁ οἰκογενὴς τῆς οἰκίας σου καὶ ὁ ἀργυρώνητος ἀπὸ παντὸς υἱοῦ ἀλλοτρίου ὃς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματός σου(lxx) Gen 17:12 He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:13 ============ Gen 17:13 A servant who is born in your house or who is bought with your money shall surely be circumcised; thus shall My covenant be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.(nasb) Gen 17:13 eritque pactum meum in carne vestra in fœdus æternum.(vulgate) Génesis 17:13 Debe ser circuncidado el nacido en tu casa, y el comprado por tu dinero; y estará mi pacto en vuestra carne por pacto perpetuo.(E) Genèse 17:13 On devra circoncire celui qui est né dans la maison et celui qui est acquis à prix d'argent; et mon alliance sera dans votre chair une alliance perpétuelle.(F) Gen 17:13 Beschnitten werden soll alles Gesinde, das dir daheim geboren oder erkauft ist. Und also soll mein Bund an eurem Fleisch sein zum ewigen Bund.(D) Gen 17:13 περιτομῇ περιτμηθήσεται ὁ οἰκογενὴς τῆς οἰκίας σου καὶ ὁ ἀργυρώνητος καὶ ἔσται ἡ διαθήκη μου ἐπὶ τῆς σαρκὸς ὑμῶν εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον(lxx) Gen 17:13 He who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised, and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:14 ============ Gen 17:14 But an uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."(nasb) Gen 17:14 Masculus, cujus præputii caro circumcisa non fuerit, delebitur anima illa de populo suo: quia pactum meum irritum fecit.~(vulgate) Génesis 17:14 Y el varón incircunciso que no hubiere circuncidado la carne de su prepucio, aquella persona será borrada de su pueblo; ha violado mi pacto.(E) Genèse 17:14 Un mâle incirconcis, qui n'aura pas été circoncis dans sa chair, sera exterminé du milieu de son peuple: il aura violé mon alliance.(F) Gen 17:14 Und wo ein Mannsbild nicht wird beschnitten an der Vorhaut seines Fleisches, des Seele soll ausgerottet werden aus seinem Volk, darum daß es meinen Bund unterlassen hat.(D) Gen 17:14 καὶ ἀπερίτμητος ἄρσην ὃς οὐ περιτμηθήσεται τὴν σάρκα τῆς ἀκροβυστίας αὐτοῦ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ὀγδόῃ ἐξολεθρευθήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ ἐκείνη ἐκ τοῦ γένους αὐτῆς ὅτι τὴν διαθήκην μου διεσκέδασεν(lxx) Gen 17:14 And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:15 ============ Gen 17:15 Then God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.(nasb) Gen 17:15 Dixit quoque Deus ad Abraham: Sarai uxorem tuam non vocabis Sarai, sed Saram.(vulgate) Génesis 17:15 Dijo también Dios a Abraham: En cuanto a tu esposa Sarai, no la llamarás Sarai, mas Sara [será] su nombre.(E) Genèse 17:15 Dieu dit à Abraham: Tu ne donneras plus à Saraï, ta femme, le nom de Saraï; mais son nom sera Sara.(F) Gen 17:15 Und Gott sprach abermals zu Abraham: Du sollst dein Weib Sarai nicht mehr Sarai heißen, sondern Sara soll ihr Name sein.(D) Gen 17:15 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῷ Αβρααμ Σαρα ἡ γυνή σου οὐ κληθήσεται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς Σαρα ἀλλὰ Σαρρα ἔσται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς(lxx) Gen 17:15 Then God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:16 ============ Gen 17:16 I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her."(nasb) Gen 17:16 Et benedicam ei, et ex illa dabo tibi filium cui benedicturus sum: eritque in nationes, et reges populorum orientur ex eo.(vulgate) Génesis 17:16 Y la bendeciré, y también te daré de ella hijo; sí, la bendeciré, y vendrá a ser [madre] de naciones; reyes de pueblos serán de ella.(E) Genèse 17:16 Je la bénirai, et je te donnerai d'elle un fils; je la bénirai, et elle deviendra des nations; des rois de peuples sortiront d'elle.(F) Gen 17:16 Denn ich will sie segnen, und auch von ihr will ich dir einen Sohn geben; denn ich will sie segnen, und Völker sollen aus ihr werden und Könige über viele Völker.(D) Gen 17:16 εὐλογήσω δὲ αὐτὴν καὶ δώσω σοι ἐξ αὐτῆς τέκνον καὶ εὐλογήσω αὐτόν καὶ ἔσται εἰς ἔθνη καὶ βασιλεῖς ἐθνῶν ἐξ αὐτοῦ ἔσονται(lxx) Gen 17:16 And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:17 ============ Gen 17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to a man one hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"(nasb) Gen 17:17 Cecidit Abraham in faciem suam, et risit, dicens in corde suo: Putasne centenario nascetur filius? et Sara nonagenaria pariet?(vulgate) Génesis 17:17 Entonces Abraham cayó sobre su rostro, y se rió, y dijo en su corazón: ¿A hombre de cien años ha de nacer [hijo]? ¿Y Sara, ya de noventa años, ha de dar a luz?(E) Genèse 17:17 Abraham tomba sur sa face; il rit, et dit en son coeur: Naîtrait-il un fils à un homme de cent ans? et Sara, âgée de quatre-vingt-dix ans, enfanterait-elle?(F) Gen 17:17 Da fiel Abraham auf sein Angesicht und lachte, und sprach in seinem Herzen: Soll mir, hundert Jahre alt, ein Kind geboren werden, und Sara, neunzig Jahre alt, gebären?(D) Gen 17:17 καὶ ἔπεσεν Αβρααμ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον καὶ ἐγέλασεν καὶ εἶπεν ἐν τῇ διανοίᾳ αὐτοῦ λέγων εἰ τῷ ἑκατονταετεῖ γενήσεται καὶ εἰ Σαρρα ἐνενήκοντα ἐτῶν οὖσα τέξεται(lxx) Gen 17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:18 ============ Gen 17:18 And Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before You!"(nasb) Gen 17:18 Dixitque ad Deum: Utinam Ismaël vivat coram te.(vulgate) Génesis 17:18 Y dijo Abraham a Dios: Te ruego que Ismael viva delante de ti.(E) Genèse 17:18 Et Abraham dit à Dieu: Oh! qu'Ismaël vive devant ta face!(F) Gen 17:18 Und Abraham sprach zu Gott: Ach, daß Ismael leben sollte vor dir!(D) Gen 17:18 εἶπεν δὲ Αβρααμ πρὸς τὸν θεόν Ισμαηλ οὗτος ζήτω ἐναντίον σου(lxx) Gen 17:18 And Abraham said to God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:19 ============ Gen 17:19 But God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.(nasb) Gen 17:19 Et ait Deus ad Abraham: Sara uxor tua pariet tibi filium, vocabisque nomen ejus Isaac, et constituam pactum meum illi in fœdus sempiternum, et semini ejus post eum.(vulgate) Génesis 17:19 Y respondió Dios: Ciertamente Sara tu esposa te dará a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Isaac; y confirmaré mi pacto con él, [y] con su simiente después de él por pacto perpetuo.(E) Genèse 17:19 Dieu dit: Certainement Sara, ta femme, t'enfantera un fils; et tu l'appelleras du nom d'Isaac. J'établirai mon alliance avec lui comme une alliance perpétuelle pour sa postérité après lui.(F) Gen 17:19 Da sprach Gott: Ja, Sara, dein Weib, soll dir einen Sohn gebären, den sollst du Isaak heißen; denn mit ihm will ich meinen ewigen Bund aufrichten und mit seinem Samen nach ihm.(D) Gen 17:19 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῷ Αβρααμ ναί ἰδοὺ Σαρρα ἡ γυνή σου τέξεταί σοι υἱόν καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ισαακ καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον καὶ τῷ σπέρματι αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτόν(lxx) Gen 17:19 Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 17:20 ============ Gen 17:20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly.
