and Israel strengthened himself and sat up on the bed.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:3 ============ Gen 48:3 Then Jacob said to Joseph, "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,(nasb) Gen 48:3 Et ingresso ad se ait: Deus omnipotens apparuit mihi in Luza, quæ est in terra Chanaan: benedixitque mihi,(vulgate) Génesis 48:3 y Jacob dijo a José: El Dios Omnipotente me apareció en Luz en la tierra de Canaán, y me bendijo,(E) Genèse 48:3 Jacob dit à Joseph: Le Dieu tout-puissant m'est apparu à Luz, dans le pays de Canaan, et il m'a béni.(F) Gen 48:3 und sprach zu Joseph: Der allmächtige Gott erschien mir zu Lus im Lande Kanaan und segnete mich(D) Gen 48:3 καὶ εἶπεν Ιακωβ τῷ Ιωσηφ ὁ θεός μου ὤφθη μοι ἐν Λουζα ἐν γῇ Χανααν καὶ εὐλόγησέν με(lxx) Gen 48:3 Then Jacob said to Joseph: "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:4 ============ Gen 48:4 and He said to me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful and numerous, and I will make you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your descendants after you for an everlasting possession.'(nasb) Gen 48:4 et ait: Ego te augebo et multiplicabo, et faciam te in turbas populorum: daboque tibi terram hanc, et semini tuo post te in possessionem sempiternam.(vulgate) Génesis 48:4 y me dijo: He aquí, yo te haré crecer, y te multiplicaré, y te pondré por estirpe de naciones: y daré esta tierra a tu simiente después de ti por heredad perpetua.(E) Genèse 48:4 Il m'a dit: Je te rendrai fécond, je te multiplierai, et je ferai de toi une multitude de peuples; je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité après toi, pour qu'elle le possède à toujours.(F) Gen 48:4 und sprach zu mir: Siehe, ich will dich wachsen lassen und mehren und will dich zum Haufen Volks machen und will dies Land zu eigen geben deinem Samen nach dir ewiglich.(D) Gen 48:4 καὶ εἶπέν μοι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ αὐξανῶ σε καὶ πληθυνῶ σε καὶ ποιήσω σε εἰς συναγωγὰς ἐθνῶν καὶ δώσω σοι τὴν γῆν ταύτην καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς κατάσχεσιν αἰώνιον(lxx) Gen 48:4 and said to me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession.'(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:5 ============ Gen 48:5 Now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh shall be mine, as Reuben and Simeon are.(nasb) Gen 48:5 Duo ergo filii tui, qui nati sunt tibi in terra Ægypti antequam huc venirem ad te, mei erunt: Ephraim et Manasses, sicut Ruben et Simeon reputabuntur mihi.(vulgate) Génesis 48:5 Y ahora tus dos hijos Efraín y Manasés, que te nacieron en la tierra de Egipto, antes que viniese a ti a la tierra de Egipto, míos son; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:7 ============ Gen 48:7 Now as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died, to my sorrow, in the land of Canaan on the journey, when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath; and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem)."(nasb) Gen 48:7 Mihi enim, quando veniebam de Mesopotamia, mortua est Rachel in terra Chanaan in ipso itinere, eratque vernum tempus: et ingrediebar Ephratam, et sepelivi eam juxta viam Ephratæ, quæ alio nomine appellatur Bethlehem.(vulgate) Génesis 48:7 Porque cuando yo venía de Padan-aram, se me murió Raquel en la tierra de Canaán, en el camino, como media legua de tierra viniendo a Efrata; y la sepulté allí en el camino de Efrata, que es Belén.(E) Genèse 48:7 A mon retour de Paddan, Rachel mourut en route auprès de moi, dans le pays de Canaan, à quelque distance d'Ephrata; et c'est là que je l'ai enterrée, sur le chemin d'Ephrata, qui est Bethléhem.(F) Gen 48:7 Und da ich aus Mesopotamien kam starb mir Rahel im Lande Kanaan auf dem Weg, da noch ein Feld Weges war gen Ephrath; und ich begrub sie daselbst an dem Wege Ephraths, das nun Bethlehem heißt.(D) Gen 48:7 ἐγὼ δὲ ἡνίκα ἠρχόμην ἐκ Μεσοποταμίας τῆς Συρίας ἀπέθανεν Ραχηλ ἡ μήτηρ σου ἐν γῇ Χανααν ἐγγίζοντός μου κατὰ τὸν ἱππόδρομον χαβραθα τῆς γῆς τοῦ ἐλθεῖν Εφραθα καὶ κατώρυξα αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ τοῦ ἱπποδρόμου αὕτη ἐστὶν Βαιθλεεμ(lxx) Gen 48:7 But as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died beside me in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath; So he said, "Bring them to me, please, that I may bless them."(nasb) Gen 48:9 Respondit: Filii mei sunt, quos donavit mihi Deus in hoc loco. Adduc, inquit, eos ad me, ut benedicam illis.(vulgate) Génesis 48:9 Y respondió José a su padre: Son mis hijos, que Dios me ha dado aquí. Y él dijo: Acércalos ahora a mí, y los bendeciré.(E) Genèse 48:9 Joseph répondit à son père: Ce sont mes fils, que Dieu m'a donnés ici. Israël dit: Fais-les, je te prie, approcher de moi, pour que je les bénisse.(F) Gen 48:9 Joseph antwortete seinem Vater: Es sind meine Söhne, die mir Gott hier gegeben hat. Er sprach: Bringe sie her zu mir, daß ich sie segne.(D) Gen 48:9 εἶπεν δὲ Ιωσηφ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ υἱοί μού εἰσιν οὓς ἔδωκέν μοι ὁ θεὸς ἐνταῦθα καὶ εἶπεν Ιακωβ προσάγαγέ μοι αὐτούς ἵνα εὐλογήσω αὐτούς(lxx) Gen 48:9 And Joseph said to his father, "They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place." And he said, "Please bring them to me, and I will bless them."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:10 ============ Gen 48:10 Now the eyes of Israel were so dim from age that he could not see. Then Joseph brought them close to him, and he kissed them and embraced them.(nasb) Gen 48:10 Oculi enim Israël caligabant præ nimia senectute, et clare videre non poterat. Applicitosque ad se, deosculatus et circumplexus eos,(vulgate) Génesis 48:10 Y los ojos de Israel estaban tan agravados de la vejez, que no podía ver. Les hizo, pues, acercarse a él, y él los besó y abrazó.(E) Genèse 48:10 Les yeux d'Israël étaient appesantis par la vieillesse; il ne pouvait plus voir. Joseph les fit approcher de lui; et Israël leur donna un baiser, et les embrassa.(F) Gen 48:10 Denn die Augen Israels waren dunkel geworden vor Alter, und er konnte nicht wohl sehen. Und er brachte sie zu ihm. Er aber küßte sie und herzte sie(D) Gen 48:10 οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ Ισραηλ ἐβαρυώπησαν ἀπὸ τοῦ γήρους καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο βλέπειν καὶ ἤγγισεν αὐτοὺς πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ ἐφίλησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ περιέλαβεν αὐτούς(lxx) Gen 48:10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim with age, so that he could not see. und siehe, Gott hat mich auch deinen Samen sehen lassen.(D) Gen 48:11 καὶ εἶπεν Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσηφ ἰδοὺ τοῦ προσώπου σου οὐκ ἐστερήθην καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔδειξέν μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου(lxx) Gen 48:11 And Israel said to Joseph, "I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:12 ============ Gen 48:12 Then Joseph took them from his knees, and bowed with his face to the ground.(nasb) Gen 48:12 Cumque tulisset eos Joseph de gremio patris, adoravit pronus in terram.(vulgate) Génesis 48:12 Entonces José los sacó de entre sus rodillas, y se inclinó a tierra.(E) Genèse 48:12 Joseph les retira des genoux de son père, et il se prosterna en terre devant lui.(F) Gen 48:12 Und Joseph nahm sie von seinem Schoß und neigte sich zur Erde gegen sein Angesicht.(D) Gen 48:12 καὶ ἐξήγαγεν Ιωσηφ αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν γονάτων αὐτοῦ καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτῷ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς(lxx) Gen 48:12 So Joseph brought them from beside his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the earth.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:13 ============ Gen 48:13 Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel's left, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel's right, and brought them close to him.(nasb) Gen 48:13 Et posuit Ephraim ad dexteram suam, id est, ad sinistram Israël: Manassen vero in sinistra sua, ad dexteram scilicet patris, applicuitque ambos ad eum.(vulgate) Génesis 48:13 Y los tomó José a ambos, Efraín a su derecha, a la izquierda de Israel; y a Manasés a su izquierda, a la derecha de Israel; y les acercó a él.(E) Genèse 48:13 Puis Joseph les prit tous deux, Ephraïm de sa main droite à la gauche d'Israël, et Manassé de sa main gauche à la droite d'Israël, et il les fit approcher de lui.(F) Gen 48:13 Da nahm sie Joseph beide, Ephraim in seine rechte Hand gegen Israels linke Hand und Manasse in seine Linke Hand gegen Israels rechte Hand, und brachte sie zu ihm.(D) Gen 48:13 λαβὼν δὲ Ιωσηφ τοὺς δύο υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ τόν τε Εφραιμ ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν δὲ Ισραηλ τὸν δὲ Μανασση ἐν τῇ ἀριστερᾷ ἐκ δεξιῶν δὲ Ισραηλ ἤγγισεν αὐτοὺς αὐτῷ(lxx) Gen 48:13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near him.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:14 ============ Gen 48:14 But Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh's head, crossing his hands, although Manasseh was the firstborn.(nasb) Gen 48:14 Qui extendens manum dexteram, posuit super caput Ephraim minoris fratris: sinistram autem super caput Manasse qui major natu erat, commutans manus.(vulgate) Génesis 48:14 Entonces Israel extendió su diestra, y la puso sobre la cabeza de Efraín, que era el menor, y su izquierda sobre la cabeza de Manasés, colocando así sus manos adrede, aunque Manasés era el primogénito.(E) Genèse 48:14 Israël étendit sa main droite et la posa sur la tête d'Ephraïm qui était le plus jeune, et il posa sa main gauche sur la tête de Manassé: ce fut avec intention qu'il posa ses mains ainsi, car Manassé était le premier-né.(F) Gen 48:14 Aber Israel streckte seine rechte Hand aus und legte sie auf Ephraims, des Jüngeren, Haupt und seine linke auf Manasses Haupt und tat wissend also mit seinen Händen, denn Manasse war der Erstgeborene.(D) Gen 48:14 ἐκτείνας δὲ Ισραηλ τὴν χεῖρα τὴν δεξιὰν ἐπέβαλεν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Εφραιμ οὗτος δὲ ἦν ὁ νεώτερος καὶ τὴν ἀριστερὰν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Μανασση ἐναλλὰξ τὰς χεῖρας(lxx) Gen 48:14 Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh's head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:15 ============ Gen 48:15 He blessed Joseph, and said, "The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,(nasb) Gen 48:15 Benedixitque Jacob filiis Joseph, et ait: Deus, in cujus conspectu ambulaverunt patres mei Abraham, et Isaac; Deus qui pascit me ab adolescentia mea usque in præsentem diem:(vulgate) Génesis 48:15 Y bendijo a José, y dijo: El Dios en cuya presencia anduvieron mis padres Abraham e Isaac, el Dios que me mantiene desde que yo soy hasta este día,(E) Genèse 48:15 Il bénit Joseph, et dit: Que le Dieu en présence duquel ont marché mes pères, Abraham et Isaac, que le Dieu qui m'a conduit depuis que j'existe jusqu'à ce jour,(F) Gen 48:15 Und er segnete Joseph und sprach: Der Gott, vor dem meine Väter, Abraham und Isaak, gewandelt haben, der Gott, der mein Hirte gewesen ist mein Leben lang bis auf diesen Tag,(D) Gen 48:15 καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός ᾧ εὐηρέστησαν οἱ πατέρες μου ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ Αβρααμ καὶ Ισαακ ὁ θεὸς ὁ τρέφων με ἐκ νεότητος ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης(lxx) Gen 48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said: "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 48:16 ============ Gen 48:16 The angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads; And may my name live on in them, And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."(nasb) Gen 48:16 angelus, qui eruit me de cunctis malis, benedicat pueris istis: et invocetur super eos nomen meum, nomina quoque patrum meorum Abraham et Isaac, et crescant in multitudinem super terram.(vulgate) Génesis 48:16 el Ángel que me liberta de todo mal, bendiga a estos muchachos; y mi nombre sea nombrado en ellos, y el nombre de mis padres Abraham e Isaac, y multiplíquense en gran manera en medio de la tierra.(E) Genèse 48:16 que l'ange qui m'a délivré de tout mal, bénisse ces enfants!
