Now David and his men were sitting in the inner recesses of the cave.(nasb) 1Sa 24:3 Et venit ad caulas ovium, quæ se offerebant vianti: eratque ibi spelunca, quam ingressus est Saul ut purgaret ventrem: porro David et viri ejus in interiore parte speluncæ latebant.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:3 Y llegó a un redil de ovejas en el camino, donde [había] una cueva, y entró Saúl [en ella] para cubrir sus pies; y David y sus hombres estaban en los rincones de la cueva.(E) 1 Samuel 24:3 Il arriva à des parcs de brebis, qui étaient près du chemin; et là se trouvait une caverne, où il entra pour se couvrir les pieds. David aber und seine Männer saßen hinten in der Höhle.(D) 1Sa 24:3 καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὰς ἀγέλας τῶν ποιμνίων τὰς ἐπὶ τῆς ὁδοῦ καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ σπήλαιον καὶ Σαουλ εἰσῆλθεν παρασκευάσασθαι καὶ Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ ἐσώτερον τοῦ σπηλαίου ἐκάθηντο(lxx) 1Sa 24:3 So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to attend to his needs. (David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.)(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:4 ============ 1Sa 24:4 The men of David said to him, "Behold, this is the day of which the Lord said to you, 'Behold; I am about to give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it seems good to you.'" Then David arose and cut off the edge of Saul's robe secretly.(nasb) 1Sa 24:4 Et dixerunt servi David ad eum: Ecce dies de qua locutus est Dominus ad te: Ego tradam tibi inimicum tuum, ut facias ei sicut placuerit in oculis tuis. Surrexit ergo David, et præcidit oram chlamydis Saul silenter.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:4 Entonces los de David le dijeron: He aquí el día que te ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que entregó tu enemigo en tus manos, y harás con él como te pareciere. Und David stand auf und schnitt leise einen Zipfel vom Rock Sauls.(D) 1Sa 24:4 καὶ εἶπον οἱ ἄνδρες Δαυιδ πρὸς αὐτόν ἰδοὺ ἡ ἡμέρα αὕτη ἣν εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς σὲ παραδοῦναι τὸν ἐχθρόν σου εἰς τὰς χεῖράς σου καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτῷ ὡς ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ἀνέστη Δαυιδ καὶ ἀφεῖλεν τὸ πτερύγιον τῆς διπλοΐδος τῆς Σαουλ λαθραίως(lxx) 1Sa 24:4 Then the men of David said to him, "This is the day of which the Lord said to you, 'Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.' " And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:5 ============ 1Sa 24:5 It came about afterward that David's conscience bothered him because he had cut off the edge of Saul's robe.(nasb) 1Sa 24:5 Post hæc percussit cor suum David, eo quod abscidisset oram chlamydis Saul.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:5 Sucedió después de esto que el corazón de David le golpeaba, por haber cortado la orilla del manto de Saúl.(E) 1 Samuel 24:5 Après cela le coeur lui battit, parce qu'il avait coupé le pan du manteau de Saül.(F) 1Sa 24:5 Aber darnach schlug ihm sein Herz, daß er den Zipfel Sauls hatte abgeschnitten,(D) 1Sa 24:5 καὶ ἐγενήθη μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἐπάταξεν καρδία Δαυιδ αὐτόν ὅτι ἀφεῖλεν τὸ πτερύγιον τῆς διπλοΐδος αὐτοῦ(lxx) 1Sa 24:5 Now it happened afterward that David's heart troubled him because he had cut Saul's robe.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:6 ============ 1Sa 24:6 So he said to his men, "Far be it from me because of the Lord that I should do this thing to my lord, the Lord's anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, since he is the Lord's anointed."(nasb) 1Sa 24:6 Dixitque ad viros suos: Propitius sit mihi Dominus, ne faciam hanc rem domino meo, christo Domini, ut mittam manum meam in eum: quia christus Domini est.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:6 Y dijo a los suyos: Jehová me guarde de hacer tal cosa contra mi señor, el ungido de Jehová, que yo extienda mi mano contra él; porque [es] el ungido de Jehová.(E) 1 Samuel 24:6 Et il dit à ses gens: Que l'Eternel me garde de commettre contre mon seigneur, l'oint de l'Eternel, une action telle que de porter ma main sur lui! car il est l'oint de l'Eternel.(F) 1Sa 24:6 und er sprach zu seinen Männern: Das lasse der HERR ferne von mir sein, daß ich das tun sollte und meine Hand legen an meinen Herrn, den Gesalbten des HERRN; denn er ist der Gesalbte des HERRN.(D) 1Sa 24:6 καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς τοὺς ἄνδρας αὐτοῦ μηδαμῶς μοι παρὰ κυρίου εἰ ποιήσω τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο τῷ κυρίῳ μου τῷ χριστῷ κυρίου ἐπενέγκαι χεῖρά μου ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν ὅτι χριστὸς κυρίου ἐστὶν οὗτος(lxx) 1Sa 24:6 And he said to his men, "The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the Lord's anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:7 ============ 1Sa 24:7 David persuaded his men with these words and did not allow them to rise up against Saul. And Saul arose, left the cave, and went on his way.(nasb) 1Sa 24:7 Et confregit David viros suos sermonibus, et non permisit eos ut consurgerent in Saul: porro Saul exsurgens de spelunca, pergebat cœpto itinere.~(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:7 Así reprimió David a sus siervos con estas palabras, y no les permitió que se levantasen contra Saúl. Da aber Saul sich aufmachte aus der Höhle und ging des Weges,(D) 1Sa 24:7 καὶ ἔπεισεν Δαυιδ τοὺς ἄνδρας αὐτοῦ ἐν λόγοις καὶ οὐκ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ἀναστάντας θανατῶσαι τὸν Σαουλ καὶ ἀνέστη Σαουλ καὶ κατέβη εἰς τὴν ὁδόν(lxx) 1Sa 24:7 So David restrained his servants with these words, and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul got up from the cave and went on his way.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:8 ============ 1Sa 24:8 Now afterward David arose and went out of the cave and called after Saul, saying, "My lord the king!" And when Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the ground and prostrated himself.(nasb) 1Sa 24:8 Surrexit autem et David post eum: et egressus de spelunca, clamavit post tergum Saul, dicens: Domine mi rex. Et respexit Saul post se: et inclinans se David pronus in terram adoravit,(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:8 También David se levantó después, y saliendo de la cueva dio voces a las espaldas de Saúl, diciendo: ¡Mi señor el rey! Y como Saúl miró atrás, David inclinó su rostro a tierra, e hizo reverencia.(E) 1 Samuel 24:8 Après cela, David se leva et sortit de la caverne. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:9 ============ 1Sa 24:9 David said to Saul, "Why do you listen to the words of men, saying, 'Behold, David seeks to harm you'?(nasb) 1Sa 24:9 dixitque ad Saul: Quare audis verba hominum loquentium: David quærit malum adversum te?(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:9 Y dijo David a Saúl: ¿Por qué oyes las palabras de los que dicen: Mira que David procura tu mal?(E) 1 Samuel 24:9 David dit à Saül: Pourquoi écoutes-tu les propos des gens qui disent: Voici, David cherche ton malheur?(F) 1Sa 24:9 und sprach zu Saul: Warum gehorchst du der Menschen Wort, die da sagen: David sucht dein Unglück?(D) 1Sa 24:9 καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Σαουλ ἵνα τί ἀκούεις τῶν λόγων τοῦ λαοῦ λεγόντων ἰδοὺ Δαυιδ ζητεῖ τὴν ψυχήν σου(lxx) 1Sa 24:9 And David said to Saul: "Why do you listen to the words of men who say, 'Indeed David seeks your harm'?(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:10 ============ 1Sa 24:10 Behold, this day your eyes have seen that the Lord had given you today into my hand in the cave, and some said to kill you, but my eye had pity on you; and I said, 'I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord's anointed.'(nasb) 1Sa 24:10 Ecce hodie viderunt oculi tui quod tradiderit te Dominus in manu mea in spelunca: et cogitavi ut occiderem te, sed pepercit tibi oculus meus: dixi enim: Non extendam manum meam in dominum meum, quia christus Domini est.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:10 He aquí han visto hoy tus ojos como Jehová te ha puesto hoy en mis manos en la cueva; y dijeron que te matase, mas te perdoné, porque dije: No extenderé mi mano contra mi señor, porque [es] el ungido de Jehová.(E) 1 Samuel 24:10 Tu vois maintenant de tes propres yeux que l'Eternel t'avait livré aujourd'hui entre mes mains dans la caverne. On m'excitait à te tuer; mais je t'ai épargné, et j'ai dit: Je ne porterai pas la main sur mon seigneur, car il est l'oint de l'Eternel.(F) 1Sa 24:10 Siehe, heutigestages sehen deine Augen, daß dich der HERR heute hat in meine Hände gegeben in der Höhle, und es ward gesagt, daß ich dich sollte erwürgen. Aber es ward dein verschont; denn ich sprach: Ich will meine Hand nicht an meinen Herrn legen; denn er ist der Gesalbte des HERRN.(D) 1Sa 24:10 ἰδοὺ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ ἑοράκασιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ὡς παρέδωκέν σε κύριος σήμερον εἰς χεῖρά μου ἐν τῷ σπηλαίῳ καὶ οὐκ ἠβουλήθην ἀποκτεῖναί σε καὶ ἐφεισάμην σου καὶ εἶπα οὐκ ἐποίσω χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ κύριόν μου ὅτι χριστὸς κυρίου οὗτός ἐστιν(lxx) 1Sa 24:10 Look, this day your eyes have seen that the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, 'I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord's anointed.'(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:11 ============ 1Sa 24:11 Now, my father, see! Indeed, see the edge of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the edge of your robe and did not kill you, know and perceive that there is no evil or rebellion in my hands, and I have not sinned against you, though you are lying in wait for my life to take it.(nasb) 1Sa 24:11 Quin potius pater mi, vide, et cognosce oram chlamydis tuæ in manu mea: quoniam cum præscinderem summitatem chlamydis tuæ, nolui extendere manum meam in te: animadverte, et vide, quoniam non est in manu mea malum, neque iniquitas, neque peccavi in te: tu autem insidiaris animæ meæ ut auferas eam.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:11 Y mira, padre mío, mira el borde de tu manto en mi mano; porque yo corté el borde de tu manto, y no te maté. Conoce, pues, y ve que no [hay] mal ni traición en mi mano, ni he pecado contra ti; con todo, tú andas a caza de mi vida para quitármela.(E) 1 Samuel 24:11 Vois, mon père, vois donc le pan de ton manteau dans ma main. Puisque j'ai coupé le pan de ton manteau et que je ne t'ai pas tué, sache et reconnais qu'il n'y a dans ma conduite ni méchanceté ni révolte, et que je n'ai point péché contre toi. Et toi, tu me dresses des embûches, pour m'ôter la vie!(F) 1Sa 24:11 Mein Vater, siehe doch den Zipfel von deinem Rock in meiner Hand, daß ich dich nicht erwürgen wollte, da ich den Zipfel von deinem Rock schnitt. Erkenne und sieh, daß nichts Böses in meiner Hand ist noch keine Übertretung. Ich habe auch an dir nicht gesündigt, und du jagst meine Seele, daß du sie wegnehmest.(D) 1Sa 24:11 καὶ ἰδοὺ τὸ πτερύγιον τῆς διπλοΐδος σου ἐν τῇ χειρί μου ἐγὼ ἀφῄρηκα τὸ πτερύγιον καὶ οὐκ ἀπέκταγκά σε καὶ γνῶθι καὶ ἰδὲ σήμερον ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν κακία ἐν τῇ χειρί μου οὐδὲ ἀσέβεια καὶ ἀθέτησις καὶ οὐχ ἡμάρτηκα εἰς σέ καὶ σὺ δεσμεύεις τὴν ψυχήν μου λαβεῖν αὐτήν(lxx) 1Sa 24:11 Moreover, my father, see! Yes, see the corner of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the corner of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor rebellion in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. But my hand shall not be against you.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:14 ============ 1Sa 24:14 After whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom are you pursuing? A flea?(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 24:15 ============ 1Sa 24:15 The Lord therefore be judge and decide between you and me; and may He see and plead my cause and deliver me from your hand."(nasb) 1Sa 24:15 Sit Dominus judex, et judicet inter me et te: et videat, et judicet causam meam, et eruat me de manu tua.(vulgate) 1 Samuel 24:15 Jehová, pues, será Juez, y Él juzgará entre tú y yo. Then Saul lifted up his voice and wept.(nasb) 1Sa 24:16 Cum autem complesset David loquens sermones hujuscemodi ad Saul, dixit Saul: Numquid vox hæc tua est, fili mi David?
