Today's Date: ======= Esther 7:1 ============ Est 7:1 Now the king and Haman came to drink wine with Esther the queen.(nasb) Est 7:1 Intravit itaque rex et Aman, ut biberent cum regina.(vulgate) Esther 7:1 Vino, pues, el rey con Amán al banquete con la reina Esther.(E) Esther 7:1 Le roi et Haman allèrent au festin chez la reine Esther.(F) Est 7:1 Und da der König mit Haman kam zum Mahl, das die Königin Est r zugerichtet hatte,(D) Est 7:1 εἰσῆλθεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ Αμαν συμπιεῖν τῇ βασιλίσσῃ(lxx) Est 7:1 So the king and Haman went to dine with Queen Esther.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:2 ============ Est 7:2 And the king said to Esther on the second day also as they drank their wine at the banquet, "What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request? Even to half of the kingdom it shall be done."(nasb) Est 7:2 Dixitque ei rex etiam secunda die, postquam vino incaluerat: Quæ est petitio tua, Esther, ut detur tibi? et quid vis fieri? etiam si dimidiam partem regni mei petieris, impetrabis.(vulgate) Esther 7:2 Y también el segundo día dijo el rey a Esther en el convite del vino: ¿Cuál [es] tu petición, reina Esther, y se te concederá? ¿Cuál [es] tu demanda? Aunque sea la mitad del reino, y te será hecho.(E) Esther 7:2 Ce second jour, le roi dit encore à Esther, pendant qu'on buvait le vin: Quelle est ta demande, reine Esther? Elle te sera accordée. Que désires-tu? Quand ce serait la moitié du royaume, tu l'obtiendras.(F) Est 7:2 sprach der König zu Est r auch des andern Tages, da er Wein getrunken hatte: Was bittest du, Königin Est r, daß man's dir gebe? Und was forderst du? Auch das halbe Königreich, es soll geschehen.(D) Est 7:2 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς Εσθηρ τῇ δευτέρᾳ ἡμέρᾳ ἐν τῷ πότῳ τί ἐστιν Εσθηρ βασίλισσα καὶ τί τὸ αἴτημά σου καὶ τί τὸ ἀξίωμά σου καὶ ἔστω σοι ἕως τοῦ ἡμίσους τῆς βασιλείας μου(lxx) Est 7:2 And on the second day, at the banquet of wine, the king again said to Esther, "What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request, up to half the kingdom? It shall be done!"(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:3 ============ Est 7:3 Then Queen Esther replied, "If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me as my petition, and my people as my request;(nasb) Est 7:3 Ad quem illa respondit: Si inveni gratiam in oculis tuis o rex, et si tibi placet, dona mihi animam meam pro qua rogo, et populum meum pro quo obsecro.(vulgate) Esther 7:3 Entonces la reina Esther respondió y dijo: Oh rey, si he hallado gracia en tus ojos, y si le place al rey, me sea dada mi vida por mi petición, y mi pueblo por mi demanda.(E) Esther 7:3 La reine Esther répondit: Si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, ô roi, et si le roi le trouve bon, accorde-moi la vie, voilà ma demande, et sauve mon peuple, voilà mon désir!(F) Est 7:3 Est r, die Königin, antwortete und sprach: habe ich Gnade vor dir gefunden, o König, und gefällt es dem König, so gib mir mein Leben um meiner Bitte willen und mein Volk um meines Begehrens willen.(D) Est 7:3 καὶ ἀποκριθεῖσα εἶπεν εἰ εὗρον χάριν ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως δοθήτω ἡ ψυχή μου τῷ αἰτήματί μου καὶ ὁ λαός μου τῷ ἀξιώματί μου(lxx) Est 7:3 Then Queen Esther answered and said, "If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:4 ============ Est 7:4 for we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be killed and to be annihilated. Now if we had only been sold as slaves, men and women, I would have remained silent, for the trouble would not be commensurate with the annoyance to the king."(nasb) Est 7:4 Traditi enim sumus ego et populus meus, ut conteramur, jugulemur, et pereamus. Atque utinam in servos et famulas venderemur: esset tolerabile malum, et gemens tacerem: nunc autem hostis noster est, cujus crudelitas redundat in regem.(vulgate) Esther 7:4 Porque vendidos estamos yo y mi pueblo para ser destruidos, para ser muertos y exterminados. Y si para ser siervos y siervas fuéramos vendidos, yo callaría, aunque el enemigo no compensaría el daño del rey.(E) Esther 7:4 Car nous sommes vendus, moi et mon peuple, pour être détruits, égorgés, anéantis. Encore si nous étions vendus pour devenir esclaves et servantes, je me tairais, mais l'ennemi ne saurait compenser le dommage fait au roi.(F) Est 7:4 Denn wir sind verkauft, ich und mein Volk, daß wir vertilgt, erwürgt und umgebracht werden. Und wären wir doch nur zu Knechten und Mägden verkauft, so wollte ich schweigen; so würde der Feind doch dem König nicht schaden.(D) Est 7:4 ἐπράθημεν γὰρ ἐγώ τε καὶ ὁ λαός μου εἰς ἀπώλειαν καὶ διαρπαγὴν καὶ δουλείαν ἡμεῖς καὶ τὰ τέκνα ἡμῶν εἰς παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας καὶ παρήκουσα οὐ γὰρ ἄξιος ὁ διάβολος τῆς αὐλῆς τοῦ βασιλέως(lxx) Est 7:4 For we have been sold, my people and I, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. Had we been sold as male and female slaves, I would have held my tongue, although the enemy could never compensate for the king's loss."(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:5 ============ Est 7:5 Then King Ahasuerus asked Queen Esther, "Who is he, and where is he, who would presume to do thus?"(nasb) Est 7:5 Respondensque rex Assuerus, ait: Quis est iste, et cujus potentiæ, ut hæc audeat facere?(vulgate) Esther 7:5 Y respondió el rey Asuero, y dijo a la reina Esther: ¿Quién es, y dónde está, aquél que ha concebido en su corazón hacer tal cosa?(E) Esther 7:5 Le roi Assuérus prit la parole et dit à la reine Esther: Qui est-il et où est-il celui qui se propose d'agir ainsi?(F) Est 7:5 Der König Ahasveros redete und sprach zu der Königin Est r: Wer ist der, oder wo ist der, der solches in seinen Sinn nehmen dürfe, also zu tun?(D) Est 7:5 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς τίς οὗτος ὅστις ἐτόλμησεν ποιῆσαι τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο(lxx) Est 7:5 So King Ahasuerus answered and said to Queen Esther, "Who is he, and where is he, who would dare presume in his heart to do such a thing?"(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:6 ============ Est 7:6 Esther said, "A foe and an enemy is this wicked Haman!" Then Haman became terrified before the king and queen.(nasb) Est 7:6 Dixitque Esther: Hostis et inimicus noster pessimus iste est Aman. Quod ille audiens, illico obstupuit, vultum regis ac reginæ ferre non sustinens.(vulgate) Esther 7:6 Y Esther dijo: El enemigo y adversario es este malvado Amán. Entonces se turbó Amán delante del rey y de la reina.(E) Esther 7:6 Esther répondit: L'oppresseur, l'ennemi, c'est Haman, ce méchant-là! Haman fut saisi de terreur en présence du roi et de la reine.(F) Est 7:6 Est r sprach: Der Feind und Widersacher ist dieser böse Haman. Haman entsetzte sich vor dem König und der Königin.(D) Est 7:6 εἶπεν δὲ Εσθηρ ἄνθρωπος ἐχθρὸς Αμαν ὁ πονηρὸς οὗτος Αμαν δὲ ἐταράχθη ἀπὸ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τῆς βασιλίσσης(lxx) Est 7:6 And Esther said, "The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman!" So Haman was terrified before the king and queen.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:7 ============ Est 7:7 The king arose in his anger from drinking wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman stayed to beg for his life from Queen Esther, for he saw that harm had been determined against him by the king.(nasb) Est 7:7 Rex autem iratus surrexit, et de loco convivii intravit in hortum arboribus consitum. Aman quoque surrexit ut rogaret Esther reginam pro anima sua: intellexit enim a rege sibi paratum malum.(vulgate) Esther 7:7 Y se levantó el rey del banquete del vino, y enfurecido [se fue] al huerto del palacio; y se quedó Amán para rogar a la reina Esther por su vida; porque vio que estaba resuelto para él el mal de parte del rey.(E) Esther 7:7 Et le roi, dans sa colère, se leva et quitta le festin, pour aller dans le jardin du palais. Haman resta pour demander grâce de la vie à la reine Esther, car il voyait bien que sa perte était arrêtée dans l'esprit du roi.(F) Est 7:7 Und der König stand auf vom Mahl und vom Wein in seinem Grimm und ging in den Garten am Hause. Und Haman stand auf und bat die Königin Est r um sein Leben; denn er sah, daß ihm ein Unglück vom König schon bereitet war.(D) Est 7:7 ὁ δὲ βασιλεὺς ἐξανέστη ἐκ τοῦ συμποσίου εἰς τὸν κῆπον ὁ δὲ Αμαν παρῃτεῖτο τὴν βασίλισσαν ἑώρα γὰρ ἑαυτὸν ἐν κακοῖς ὄντα(lxx) Est 7:7 Then the king arose in his wrath from the banquet of wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman stood before Queen Esther, pleading for his life, for he saw that evil was determined against him by the king.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:8 ============ Est 7:8 Now when the king returned from the palace garden into the place where they were drinking wine, Haman was falling on the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, "Will he even assault the queen with me in the house?" As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.(nasb) Est 7:8 Qui cum reversus esset de horto nemoribus consito, et intrasset convivii locum, reperit Aman super lectulum corruisse in quo jacebat Esther, et ait: Etiam reginam vult opprimere, me præsente, in domo mea. Necdum verbum de ore regis exierat, et statim operuerunt faciem ejus.(vulgate) Esther 7:8 Volvió después el rey del huerto del palacio al aposento del banquete del vino, y Amán había caído sobre el lecho en que [estaba] Esther. Entonces dijo el rey: ¿Querrá también forzar a la reina estando yo en casa? Y al salir esta palabra de la boca del rey, cubrieron el rostro a Amán.(E) Esther 7:8 Lorsque le roi revint du jardin du palais dans la salle du festin, il vit Haman qui s'était précipité vers le lit sur lequel était Esther, et il dit: Serait-ce encore pour faire violence à la reine, chez moi, dans le palais? Dès que cette parole fut sortie de la bouche du roi, on voila le visage d'Haman.(F) Est 7:8 Und da der König wieder aus dem Garten am Hause in den Saal, da man gegessen hatte, kam, lag Haman an der Bank, darauf Est r saß. Da sprach der König: Will er auch der Königin Gewalt tun bei mir im Hause? Da das Wort aus des Königs Munde ging, verhüllten sie Haman das Antlitz.(D) Est 7:8 ἐπέστρεψεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκ τοῦ κήπου Αμαν δὲ ἐπιπεπτώκει ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην ἀξιῶν τὴν βασίλισσαν εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς ὥστε καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα βιάζῃ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ μου Αμαν δὲ ἀκούσας διετράπη τῷ προσώπῳ(lxx) Est 7:8 When the king returned from the palace garden to the place of the banquet of wine, Haman had fallen across the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, "Will he also assault the queen while I am in the house?" As the word left the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:9 ============ Est 7:9 Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs who were before the king said, "Behold indeed, the gallows standing at Haman's house fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai who spoke good on behalf of the king!" And the king said, "Hang him on it."(nasb) Est 7:9 Dixitque Harbona, unus de eunuchis, qui stabant in ministerio regis: En lignum quod paraverat Mardochæo, qui locutus est pro rege, stat in domo Aman, habens altitudinis quinquaginta cubitos. Cui dixit rex: Appendite eum in eo.(vulgate) Esther 7:9 Y dijo Harbona, uno de los eunucos de delante del rey: He aquí también la horca de cincuenta codos de altura que hizo Amán para Mardoqueo, el cual había hablado bien por el rey, está en casa de Amán. Entonces el rey dijo: Colgadlo en ella.(E) Esther 7:9 Et Harbona, l'un des eunuques, dit en présence du roi: Voici, le bois préparé par Haman pour Mardochée, qui a parlé pour le bien du roi, est dressé dans la maison d'Haman, à une hauteur de cinquante coudées. Le roi dit: Qu'on y pende Haman!(F) Est 7:9 Und Harbona, der Kämmerer einer vor dem König, sprach: Siehe, es steht ein Baum im Hause Haman, fünfzig Ellen hoch, den er Mardochai gemacht hatte, der Gutes für den König geredet hat. Der König sprach: Laßt ihn daran hängen!(D) Est 7:9 εἶπεν δὲ Βουγαθαν εἷς τῶν εὐνούχων πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ἰδοὺ καὶ ξύλον ἡτοίμασεν Αμαν Μαρδοχαίῳ τῷ λαλήσαντι περὶ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ὤρθωται ἐν τοῖς Αμαν ξύλον πηχῶν πεντήκοντα εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς σταυρωθήτω ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ(lxx) Est 7:9 Now Harbonah, one of the eunuchs, said to the king, "Look! The gallows, fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai, who spoke good on the king's behalf, is standing at the house of Haman." Then the king said, "Hang him on it!"(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:10 ============ Est 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king's anger subsided.(nasb) Est 7:10 Suspensus est itaque Aman in patibulo quod paraverat Mardochæo: et regis ira quievit.(vulgate) Esther 7:10 Así colgaron a Amán en la horca que él había preparado para Mardoqueo; y se apaciguó la ira del rey.(E) Esther 7:10 Et l'on pendit Haman au bois qu'il avait préparé pour Mardochée. Et la colère du roi s'apaisa.(F) Est 7:10 Also hängte man Haman an den Baum, den er Mardochai gemacht hatte. Da legte sich des Königs Zorn.(D) Est 7:10 καὶ ἐκρεμάσθη Αμαν ἐπὶ τοῦ ξύλου ὃ ἡτοίμασεν Μαρδοχαίῳ καὶ τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκόπασεν τοῦ θυμοῦ(lxx) Est 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai.
