Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 8:1 ============ Jer 8:1 "At that time," declares the Lord, "they will bring out the bones of the kings of Judah and the bones of its princes, and the bones of the priests and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem from their graves.(nasb) Jer 8:1 [In illo tempore, ait Dominus, ejicient ossa regum Juda, et ossa principum ejus, et ossa sacerdotum, et ossa prophetarum, et ossa eorum qui habitaverunt Jerusalem, de sepulchris suis:(vulgate) Jeremías 8:1 En aquel tiempo, dice Jehová, sacarán los huesos de los reyes de Judá, y los huesos de sus príncipes, y los huesos de los sacerdotes, y los huesos de los profetas, y los huesos de los moradores de Jerusalén, fuera de sus sepulcros;(E) Jérémie 8:1 En ce temps-là, dit l'Eternel, on tirera de leurs sépulcres les os des rois de Juda, les os de ses chefs, les os des sacrificateurs, les os des prophètes, et les os des habitants de Jérusalem.(F) Jer 8:1 Zu derselben Zeit, spricht der HERR, wird man die Gebeine der Könige Juda's, die Gebeine ihrer Fürsten, die Gebeine der Priester, die Gebeine der Propheten, die Gebeine der Bürger zu Jerusalem aus ihren Gräbern werfen;(D) Jer 8:1 ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ λέγει κύριος ἐξοίσουσιν τὰ ὀστᾶ τῶν βασιλέων Ιουδα καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ τῶν ἀρχόντων αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ τῶν ἱερέων καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ τῶν προφητῶν καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ τῶν κατοικούντων Ιερουσαλημ ἐκ τῶν τάφων αὐτῶν(lxx) Jer 8:1 "At that time," says the Lord, "they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of its princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:2 ============ Jer 8:2 They will spread them out to the sun, the moon and to all the host of heaven, which they have loved and which they have served, and which they have gone after and which they have sought, and which they have worshiped. They will not be gathered or buried; they will be as dung on the face of the ground.(nasb) Jer 8:2 et expandent ea ad solem, et lunam, et omnem militiam cæli, quæ dilexerunt, et quibus servierunt, et post quæ ambulaverunt, et quæ quæsierunt, et adoraverunt. Non colligentur, et non sepelientur: in sterquilinium super faciem terræ erunt.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:2 y los esparcirán al sol y a la luna y a todo el ejército del cielo, a quienes amaron y a quienes sirvieron, y en pos de quienes anduvieron, a quienes consultaron, y a quienes adoraron. No serán recogidos, ni enterrados; serán como estiércol sobre la faz de la tierra.(E) Jérémie 8:2 On les étendra devant le soleil, devant la lune, et devant toute l'armée des cieux, qu'ils ont aimés, qu'ils ont servis, qu'ils ont suivis, qu'ils ont recherchés, et devant lesquels ils se sont prosternés; on ne les recueillera point, on ne les enterrera point, et ils seront comme du fumier sur la terre.(F) Jer 8:2 und wird sie hinstreuen unter Sonne, Mond und alles Heer des Himmels, welche sie geliebt und denen sie gedient haben, denen sie nachgefolgt sind und die sie gesucht und angebetet haben. Sie sollen nicht wieder aufgelesen und begraben werden, sondern Kot auf der Erde sein.(D) Jer 8:2 καὶ ψύξουσιν αὐτὰ πρὸς τὸν ἥλιον καὶ τὴν σελήνην καὶ πρὸς πάντας τοὺς ἀστέρας καὶ πρὸς πᾶσαν τὴν στρατιὰν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἃ ἠγάπησαν καὶ οἷς ἐδούλευσαν καὶ ὧν ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω αὐτῶν καὶ ὧν ἀντείχοντο καὶ οἷς προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς οὐ κοπήσονται καὶ οὐ ταφήσονται καὶ ἔσονται εἰς παράδειγμα ἐπὶ προσώπου τῆς γῆς(lxx) Jer 8:2 They shall spread them before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and which they have served and after which they have walked, which they have sought and which they have worshiped. They shall not be gathered nor buried; they shall be like refuse on the face of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:3 ============ Jer 8:3 And death will be chosen rather than life by all the remnant that remains of this evil family, that remains in all the places to which I have driven them," declares the Lord of hosts.(nasb) Jer 8:3 Et eligent magis mortem quam vitam, omnes qui residui fuerint de cognatione hac pessima, in universis locis quæ derelicta sunt, ad quæ ejeci eos, dicit Dominus exercituum.]~(vulgate) Jeremías 8:3 Y se escogerá la muerte antes que la vida por todo el remanente que quedare de esta mala generación, en todos los lugares adonde arrojaré yo a los que quedaren, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.(E) Jérémie 8:3 La mort sera préférable à la vie pour tous ceux qui resteront de cette race méchante, dans tous les lieux où je les aurai chassés, dit l'Eternel des armées.(F) Jer 8:3 Und alle übrigen von diesem bösen Volk, an welchen Ort sie sein werden, dahin ich sie verstoßen habe, werden lieber tot als lebendig sein wollen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.(D) Jer 8:3 ὅτι εἵλοντο τὸν θάνατον ἢ τὴν ζωήν καὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς καταλοίποις τοῖς καταλειφθεῖσιν ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς ἐκείνης ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ οὗ ἐὰν ἐξώσω αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ(lxx) Jer 8:3 Then death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of those who remain of this evil family, who remain in all the places where I have driven them," says the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:4 ============ Jer 8:4 "You shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord, "Do men fall and not get up again? Will one turn away and not return?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:5 ============ Jer 8:5 "Why then has this people, Jerusalem, Turned away in continual apostasy? They hold fast to deceit, They refuse to return.(nasb) Jer 8:5 Quare ergo aversus est populus iste in Jerusalem aversione contentiosa? Apprehenderunt mendacium, et noluerunt reverti.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:5 ¿Por qué es este pueblo de Jerusalén rebelde con rebeldía perpetua? Sie halten so hart an dem falschen Gottesdienst, daß sie sich nicht wollen abwenden lassen.(D) Jer 8:5 διὰ τί ἀπέστρεψεν ὁ λαός μου οὗτος ἀποστροφὴν ἀναιδῆ καὶ κατεκρατήθησαν ἐν τῇ προαιρέσει αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησαν τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι(lxx) Jer 8:5 Why has this people slidden back, Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit, They refuse to return.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:6 ============ Jer 8:6 "I have listened and heard, They have spoken what is not right; No man repented of his wickedness, Saying, 'What have I done? 'Everyone turned to his course, Like a horse charging into the battle.(nasb) Jer 8:6 Attendi, et auscultavi: nemo quod bonum est loquitur; nullus est qui agat pœnitentiam super peccato suo, dicens: Quid feci? Omnes conversi sunt ad cursum suum, quasi equus impetu vadens ad prælium.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:6 Escuché y oí; [pero] no hablan derecho, no hay hombre que se arrepienta de su mal, diciendo: ¿Qué he hecho? Cada cual se volvió a su carrera, como caballo que arremete con ímpetu a la batalla.(E) Jérémie 8:6 Je suis attentif, et j'écoute: Ils ne parlent pas comme ils devraient; Aucun ne se repent de sa méchanceté, Et ne dit: Qu'ai-je fait? Tous reprennent leur course, Comme un cheval qui s'élance au combat.(F) Jer 8:6 Ich sehe und höre, daß sie nichts Rechtes reden. Keiner ist, dem seine Bosheit Leid wäre und der spräche: Was mache ich doch! Sie laufen alle ihren Lauf wie ein grimmiger Hengst im Streit.(D) Jer 8:6 ἐνωτίσασθε δὴ καὶ ἀκούσατε οὐχ οὕτως λαλήσουσιν οὐκ ἔστιν ἄνθρωπος μετανοῶν ἀπὸ τῆς κακίας αὐτοῦ λέγων τί ἐποίησα διέλιπεν ὁ τρέχων ἀπὸ τοῦ δρόμου αὐτοῦ ὡς ἵππος κάθιδρος ἐν χρεμετισμῷ αὐτοῦ(lxx) Jer 8:6 I listened and heard, But they do not speak aright. No man repented of his wickedness, Saying, 'What have I done?' Everyone turned to his own course, As the horse rushes into the battle.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:7 ============ Jer 8:7 "Even the stork in the sky Knows her seasons; And the turtledove and the swift and the thrush Observe the time of their migration; But My people do not know The ordinance of the Lord.(nasb) Jer 8:7 Milvus in cælo cognovit tempus suum: turtur, et hirundo, et ciconia custodierunt tempus adventus sui: populus autem meus non cognovit judicium Domini.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:7 Aun la cigüeña en el cielo conoce su tiempo, y la tórtola y la grulla y la golondrina guardan el tiempo de su venida; pero mi pueblo no conoce el juicio de Jehová.(E) Jérémie 8:7 Même la cigogne connaît dans les cieux sa saison; La tourterelle, l'hirondelle et la grue Observent le temps de leur arrivée; Mais mon peuple ne connaît pas la loi de l'Eternel.(F) Jer 8:7 Ein Storch unter dem Himmel weiß seine Zeit, eine Turteltaube, Kranich und Schwalbe merken ihre Zeit, wann sie wiederkommen sollen, aber mein Volk will das Recht des HERRN nicht wissen.(D) Jer 8:7 καὶ ἡ ασιδα ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἔγνω τὸν καιρὸν αὐτῆς τρυγὼν καὶ χελιδών ἀγροῦ στρουθία ἐφύλαξαν καιροὺς εἰσόδων αὐτῶν ὁ δὲ λαός μου οὐκ ἔγνω τὰ κρίματα κυρίου(lxx) Jer 8:7 "Even the stork in the heavens Knows her appointed times; And the turtledove, the swift, and the swallow Observe the time of their coming. But My people do not know the judgment of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:8 ============ Jer 8:8 "How can you say, 'We are wise, And the law of the Lord is with us'? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes Has made it into a lie.(nasb) Jer 8:8 Quomodo dicitis: Sapientes nos sumus, et lex Domini nobiscum est? vere mendacium operatus est stylus mendax scribarum!(vulgate) Jeremías 8:8 ¿Cómo decís: Nosotros [somos] sabios, y la ley de Jehová [está] con nosotros? Ciertamente, he aquí que en vano se cortó la pluma, por demás fueron los escribas.(E) Jérémie 8:8 Comment pouvez-vous dire: Nous sommes sages, La loi de l'Eternel est avec nous? C'est bien en vain que s'est mise à l'oeuvre La plume mensongère des scribes.(F) Jer 8:8 Wie mögt ihr doch sagen: "Wir wissen, was recht ist, und haben die heilige Schrift vor uns"? Ist's doch eitel Lüge, was die Schriftgelehrten setzen.(D) Jer 8:8 πῶς ἐρεῖτε ὅτι σοφοί ἐσμεν ἡμεῖς καὶ νόμος κυρίου ἐστὶν μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν εἰς μάτην ἐγενήθη σχοῖνος ψευδὴς γραμματεῦσιν(lxx) Jer 8:8 "How can you say, 'We are wise, And the law of the Lord is with us'? Look, the false pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:9 ============ Jer 8:9 "The wise men are put to shame, They are dismayed and caught; Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord, And what kind of wisdom do they have?(nasb) Jer 8:9 Confusi sunt sapientes; perterriti et capti sunt: verbum enim Domini projecerunt, et sapientia nulla est in eis.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:9 Los sabios se avergonzaron, se espantaron y fueron presos: he aquí que aborrecieron la palabra de Jehová; ¿y qué sabiduría tienen?(E) Jérémie 8:9 Les sages sont confondus, Ils sont consternés, ils sont pris; Voici, ils ont méprisé la parole de l'Eternel, Et quelle sagesse ont-ils?(F) Jer 8:9 Darum müssen solche Lehrer zu Schanden, erschreckt und gefangen werden; denn was können sie Gutes lehren, weil sie des HERRN Wort verwerfen?(D) Jer 8:9 ᾐσχύνθησαν σοφοὶ καὶ ἐπτοήθησαν καὶ ἑάλωσαν ὅτι τὸν λόγον κυρίου ἀπεδοκίμασαν σοφία τίς ἐστιν ἐν αὐτοῖς(lxx) Jer 8:9 The wise men are ashamed, They are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; So what wisdom do they have?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:10 ============ Jer 8:10 "Therefore I will give their wives to others, Their fields to new owners; Because from the least even to the greatest Everyone is greedy for gain; From the prophet even to the priest Everyone practices deceit.(nasb) Jer 8:10 Propterea dabo mulieres eorum exteris, agros eorum hæredibus, quia a minimo usque ad maximum omnes avaritiam sequuntur: a propheta usque ad sacerdotem cuncti faciunt mendacium.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:10 Por tanto, daré sus esposas a otros, [y] sus campos a quienes los posean; porque desde el chico hasta el grande cada uno sigue la avaricia, desde el profeta hasta el sacerdote todos practican el engaño.(E) Jérémie 8:10 C'est pourquoi je donnerai leurs femmes à d'autres, Et leurs champs à ceux qui les déposséderont. Denn sie geizen allesamt, beide, klein und groß; und beide, Priester und Propheten, gehen mit Lügen um(D) Jer 8:10 διὰ τοῦτο δώσω τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτῶν ἑτέροις καὶ τοὺς ἀγροὺς αὐτῶν τοῖς κληρονόμοις(lxx) Jer 8:10 Therefore I will give their wives to others, And their fields to those who will inherit them; Because from the least even to the greatest Everyone is given to covetousness; From the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:11 ============ Jer 8:11 "They heal the brokenness of the daughter of My people superficially, Saying, 'Peace, peace, 'But there is no peace.(nasb) Jer 8:11 Et sanabant contritionem filiæ populi mei ad ignominiam, dicentes: Pax, pax! cum non esset pax.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:11 Y curaron el quebrantamiento de la hija de mi pueblo con liviandad, diciendo: Paz, paz; y no [hay] paz.(E) Jérémie 8:11 Ils pansent à la légère la plaie de la fille de mon peuple: Paix! paix! disent-ils. When there is no peace.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:12 ============ Jer 8:12 "Were they ashamed because of the abomination they had done? They certainly were not ashamed, And they did not know how to blush; Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time of their punishment they shall be brought down," Says the Lord.(nasb) Jer 8:12 Confusi sunt, quia abominationem fecerunt: quinimmo confusione non sunt confusi, et erubescere nescierunt. Idcirco cadent inter corruentes: in tempore visitationis suæ corruent, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:12 ¿Se avergonzaron de haber hecho abominación? Ciertamente no se han avergonzado, ni siquiera se han ruborizado; por tanto, caerán entre los que caigan, cuando los castigue, caerán, dice Jehová.(E) Jérémie 8:12 Ils seront confus, car ils commettent des abominations; Ils ne rougissent pas, ils ne connaissent pas la honte; C'est pourquoi ils tomberont avec ceux qui tombent, Ils seront renversés quand je les châtierai, Dit l'Eternel.(F) Jer 8:12 Darum werden sie mit Schanden bestehen, daß sie solche Greuel treiben; wiewohl sie wollen ungeschändet sein und wollen sich nicht schämen. Darum müssen sie fallen auf einen Haufen; und wenn ich sie heimsuchen werde, sollen sie stürzen, spricht der HERR.(D) Jer 8:12 (listed as 23) τίς δώσει κεφαλῇ μου ὕδωρ καὶ ὀφθαλμοῖς μου πηγὴν δακρύων καὶ κλαύσομαι τὸν λαόν μου τοῦτον ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός τοὺς τετραυματισμένους θυγατρὸς λαοῦ μου(lxx) Jer 8:12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, Nor did they know how to blush. No [habrá] uvas en la vid, ni higos en la higuera, y se caerá la hoja; y [lo que] les he dado pasará de ellos.(E) Jérémie 8:13 Je veux en finir avec eux, dit l'Eternel; Il n'y aura plus de raisins à la vigne, Plus de figues au figuier, Et les feuilles se flétriront; Ce que je leur avais donné leur échappera. -(F) Jer 8:13 Ich will sie also ablesen, spricht der HERR, daß keine Trauben am Weinstock und keine Feigen am Feigenbaum bleiben, ja auch die Blätter wegfallen sollen; und was ich ihnen gegeben habe, das soll ihnen genommen werden.(D) Jer 8:13 καὶ συνάξουσιν τὰ γενήματα αὐτῶν λέγει κύριος οὐκ ἔστιν σταφυλὴ ἐν ταῖς ἀμπέλοις καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν σῦκα ἐν ταῖς συκαῖς καὶ τὰ φύλλα κατερρύηκεν(lxx) Jer 8:13 "I will surely consume them," says the Lord. "No grapes shall be on the vine, Nor figs on the fig tree, And the leaf shall fade; And the things I have given them shall pass away from them." ' "(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 8:14 ============ Jer 8:14 Why are we sitting still? Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the fortified cities And let us perish there, Because the Lord our God has doomed us And given us poisoned water to drink, For we have sinned against the Lord.(nasb) Jer 8:14 Quare sedemus? convenite, et ingrediamur civitatem munitam, et sileamus ibi: quia Dominus Deus noster silere nos fecit, et potum dedit nobis aquam fellis: peccavimus enim Domino.(vulgate) Jeremías 8:14 ¿Por qué nos estamos sentados? Congregaos, y entremos en las ciudades fortificadas, y allí reposaremos; porque Jehová nuestro Dios nos ha hecho callar, dándonos a beber bebida de hiel, porque pecamos contra Jehová.(E) Jérémie 8:14 Pourquoi restons-nous assis? Rassemblez-vous, et allons dans les villes fortes, Pour y périr! Car l'Eternel, notre Dieu, nous destine à la mort, Il nous fait boire des eaux empoisonnées, Parce que nous avons péché contre l'Eternel.(F) Jer 8:14 Wo werden wir dann wohnen? Ja, sammelt euch dann und laßt uns in die festen Städte ziehen, daß wir daselbst umkommen. Denn der HERR, unser Gott, wird uns umkommen lassen und tränken mit einem bitteren Trunk, daß wir so gesündigt haben wider den HERRN.(D) Jer 8:14 ἐπὶ τί ἡμεῖς καθήμεθα συνάχθητε καὶ εἰσέλθωμεν εἰς τὰς πόλεις τὰς ὀχυρὰς καὶ ἀπορριφῶμεν ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ἀπέρριψεν ἡμᾶς καὶ ἐπότισεν ἡμᾶς ὕδωρ χολῆς ὅτι ἡμάρτομεν ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ(lxx) Jer 8:14 "Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves, And let us enter the fortified cities, And let us be silent there.
