Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 9:1 ============ Jer 9:1 Oh that my head were waters And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!(nasb) Jer 9:1 [Quis dabit capiti meo aquam, et oculis meis fontem lacrimarum, et plorabo die ac nocte interfectos filiæ populi mei?(vulgate) Jeremías 9:1 ¡Oh si mi cabeza se hiciese aguas, y mis ojos fuentes de lágrimas, para que llore día y noche los muertos de la hija de mi pueblo!(E) Jérémie 9:1 Oh! si ma tête était remplie d'eau, Si mes yeux étaient une source de larmes, Je pleurerais jour et nuit Les morts de la fille de mon peuple!(F) Jer 9:1 Ach, daß ich Wasser genug hätte in meinem Haupte und meine Augen Tränenquellen wären, daß ich Tag und Nacht beweinen möchte die Erschlagenen in meinem Volk!(D) Jer 9:1 τίς δῴη μοι ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ σταθμὸν ἔσχατον καὶ καταλείψω τὸν λαόν μου καὶ ἀπελεύσομαι ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ὅτι πάντες μοιχῶνται σύνοδος ἀθετούντων(lxx) Jer 9:1 Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:2 ============ Jer 9:2 Oh that I had in the desert A wayfarers' lodging place; That I might leave my people And go from them! For all of them are adulterers, An assembly of treacherous men.(nasb) Jer 9:2 Quis dabit me in solitudine diversorium viatorum, et derelinquam populum meum, et recedam ab eis? quia omnes adulteri sunt, cœtus prævaricatorum.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:2 ¡Oh quién me diese en el desierto un mesón de caminantes, para que dejase a mi pueblo, y de ellos me apartase! Porque todos ellos son adúlteros, congregación de prevaricadores.(E) Jérémie 9:2 Oh! si j'avais au désert une cabane de voyageurs, J'abandonnerais mon peuple, je m'en éloignerais! Car ce sont tous des adultères, C'est une troupe de perfides.(F) Jer 9:2 Ach, daß ich eine Herberge hätte in der Wüste, so wollte ich mein Volk verlassen und von ihnen ziehen! Denn es sind eitel Ehebrecher und ein frecher Haufe.(D) Jer 9:2 καὶ ἐνέτειναν τὴν γλῶσσαν αὐτῶν ὡς τόξον ψεῦδος καὶ οὐ πίστις ἐνίσχυσεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὅτι ἐκ κακῶν εἰς κακὰ ἐξήλθοσαν καὶ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν(lxx) Jer 9:2 Oh, that I had in the wilderness A lodging place for travelers; That I might leave my people, And go from them! For they are all adulterers, An assembly of treacherous men.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:3 ============ Jer 9:3 "They bend their tongue like their bow; Lies and not truth prevail in the land; For they proceed from evil to evil, And they do not know Me," declares the Lord.(nasb) Jer 9:3 Et extenderunt linguam suam quasi arcum mendacii et non veritatis: confortati sunt in terra, quia de malo ad malum egressi sunt, et me non cognoverunt, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:3 Tensan su lengua [como] su arco, [para lanzar] mentiras; pero no son valientes para la verdad en la tierra; porque de mal en mal procedieron, y me han desconocido, dice Jehová.(E) Jérémie 9:3 Ils ont la langue tendue comme un arc et lancent le mensonge; Ce n'est pas par la vérité qu'ils sont puissants dans le pays; Car ils vont de méchanceté en méchanceté, Et ils ne me connaissent pas, dit l'Eternel.(F) Jer 9:3 Sie schießen mit ihren Zungen eitel Lüge und keine Wahrheit und treiben's mit Gewalt im Lande und gehen von einer Bosheit zur andern und achten mich nicht, spricht der HERR.(D) Jer 9:3 ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ φυλάξασθε καὶ ἐπ᾽ ἀδελφοῖς αὐτῶν μὴ πεποίθατε ὅτι πᾶς ἀδελφὸς πτέρνῃ πτερνιεῖ καὶ πᾶς φίλος δολίως πορεύσεται(lxx) Jer 9:3 "And like their bow they have bent their tongues for lies. They are not valiant for the truth on the earth. For they proceed from evil to evil, And they do not know Me," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:4 ============ Jer 9:4 "Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor, And do not trust any brother; Because every brother deals craftily, And every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.(nasb) Jer 9:4 Unusquisque se a proximo suo custodiat, et in omni fratre suo non habeat fiduciam: quia omnis frater supplantans supplantabit, et omnis amicus fraudulenter incedet.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:4 Guárdese cada uno de su compañero, y en ningún hermano tenga confianza: porque todo hermano engaña con falacia, y todo compañero anda con calumniadores.(E) Jérémie 9:4 Que chacun se tienne en garde contre son ami, Et qu'on ne se fie à aucun de ses frères; Car tout frère cherche à tromper, Et tout ami répand des calomnies.(F) Jer 9:4 Ein jeglicher hüte sich vor seinem Freunde und traue auch seinem Bruder nicht; denn ein Bruder unterdrückt den andern, und ein Freund verrät den andern.(D) Jer 9:4 ἕκαστος κατὰ τοῦ φίλου αὐτοῦ καταπαίξεται ἀλήθειαν οὐ μὴ λαλήσωσιν μεμάθηκεν ἡ γλῶσσα αὐτῶν λαλεῖν ψευδῆ ἠδίκησαν καὶ οὐ διέλιπον τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι(lxx) Jer 9:4 "Everyone take heed to his neighbor, And do not trust any brother; For every brother will utterly supplant, And every neighbor will walk with slanderers.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:5 ============ Jer 9:5 "Everyone deceives his neighbor And does not speak the truth, They have taught their tongue to speak lies; They weary themselves committing iniquity.(nasb) Jer 9:5 Et vir fratrem suum deridebit, et veritatem non loquentur: docuerunt enim linguam suam loqui mendacium; ut inique agerent laboraverunt.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:5 Y cada uno engaña a su compañero, y no habla verdad: enseñaron su lengua a hablar mentira y se ocupan de hacer perversamente.(E) Jérémie 9:5 Ils se jouent les uns des autres, Et ne disent point la vérité; Ils exercent leur langue à mentir, Ils s'étudient à faire le mal.(F) Jer 9:5 Ein Freund täuscht den andern und reden kein wahres Wort; sie fleißigen sich darauf, wie einer den andern betrüge, und ist ihnen nicht leid, daß sie es ärger machen können.(D) Jer 9:5 τόκος ἐπὶ τόκῳ δόλος ἐπὶ δόλῳ οὐκ ἤθελον εἰδέναι με(lxx) Jer 9:5 Everyone will deceive his neighbor, And will not speak the truth; They have taught their tongue to speak lies; They weary themselves to commit iniquity.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:6 ============ Jer 9:6 "Your dwelling is in the midst of deceit; Through deceit they refuse to know Me," declares the Lord.(nasb) Jer 9:6 Habitatio tua in medio doli: in dolo renuerunt scire me, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:6 Tu morada [es] en medio de engaño; de muy engañadores no quisieron conocerme, dice Jehová.(E) Jérémie 9:6 Ta demeure est au sein de la fausseté; C'est par fausseté qu'ils refusent de me connaître, Dit l'Eternel.(F) Jer 9:6 Es ist allenthalben eitel Trügerei unter ihnen, und vor Trügerei wollen sie mich nicht kennen, spricht der HERR.(D) Jer 9:6 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ πυρώσω αὐτοὺς καὶ δοκιμῶ αὐτούς ὅτι ποιήσω ἀπὸ προσώπου πονηρίας θυγατρὸς λαοῦ μου(lxx) Jer 9:6 Your dwelling place is in the midst of deceit; Through deceit they refuse to know Me," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:7 ============ Jer 9:7 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts," Behold, I will refine them and assay them; For what else can I do, because of the daughter of My people?(nasb) Jer 9:7 Propterea hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Ecce ego conflabo, et probabo eos: quid enim aliud faciam a facie filiæ populi mei?(vulgate) Jeremías 9:7 Por tanto, así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que yo los fundiré, y los probaré; porque ¿cómo he de hacer por la hija de mi pueblo?(E) Jérémie 9:7 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées: Voici je les sonderai, je les éprouverai. Car comment agir à l'égard de la fille de mon peuple?(F) Jer 9:7 Darum spricht der HERR Zebaoth also: Siehe, ich will sie schmelzen und prüfen. Denn was soll ich sonst tun, wenn ich ansehe die Tochter meines Volks?(D) Jer 9:7 βολὶς τιτρώσκουσα ἡ γλῶσσα αὐτῶν δόλια τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ στόματος αὐτῶν τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ λαλεῖ εἰρηνικὰ καὶ ἐν ἑαυτῷ ἔχει τὴν ἔχθραν(lxx) Jer 9:7 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: "Behold, I will refine them and try them; For how shall I deal with the daughter of My people?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:8 ============ Jer 9:8 "Their tongue is a deadly arrow; It speaks deceit; With his mouth one speaks peace to his neighbor, But inwardly he sets an ambush for him.(nasb) Jer 9:8 Sagitta vulnerans lingua eorum, dolum locuta est. In ore suo pacem cum amico suo loquitur, et occulte ponit ei insidias.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:8 Saeta afilada [es] la lengua de ellos; engaño habla; con su boca habla paz con su amigo, pero dentro de sí pone sus asechanzas.(E) Jérémie 9:8 Leur langue est un trait meurtrier, Ils ne disent que des mensonges; De la bouche ils parlent de paix à leur prochain, Et au fond du coeur ils lui dressent des pièges.(F) Jer 9:8 Ihre falschen Zungen sind mörderische Pfeile; mit ihrem Munde reden sie freundlich gegen den Nächsten, aber im Herzen lauern sie auf ihn.(D) Jer 9:8 μὴ ἐπὶ τούτοις οὐκ ἐπισκέψομαι λέγει κύριος ἢ ἐν λαῷ τῷ τοιούτῳ οὐκ ἐκδικήσει ἡ ψυχή μου(lxx) Jer 9:8 Their tongue is an arrow shot out; It speaks deceit; One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, But in his heart he lies in wait.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:9 ============ Jer 9:9 "Shall I not punish them for these things?" declares the Lord. "On a nation such as this Shall I not avenge Myself?(nasb) Jer 9:9 Numquid super his non visitabo, dicit Dominus, aut in gente hujusmodi non ulciscetur anima mea?(vulgate) Jeremías 9:9 ¿No habré de castigarles por estas cosas? dice Jehová. ¿No ha de vengarse mi alma de una gente como ésta?(E) Jérémie 9:9 Ne les châtierais-je pas pour ces choses-là, dit l'Eternel, Ne me vengerais-je pas d'une pareille nation?(F) Jer 9:9 Sollte ich nun solches nicht heimsuchen an ihnen, spricht der HERR, und meine Seele sollte sich nicht rächen an solchem Volk, wie dies ist?(D) Jer 9:9 ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη λάβετε κοπετὸν καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς τρίβους τῆς ἐρήμου θρῆνον ὅτι ἐξέλιπον παρὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ἀνθρώπους οὐκ ἤκουσαν φωνὴν ὑπάρξεως ἀπὸ πετεινῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἕως κτηνῶν ἐξέστησαν ᾤχοντο(lxx) Jer 9:9 Shall I not punish them for these things?" says the Lord. "Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?"(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:10 ============ Jer 9:10 "For the mountains I will take up a weeping and wailing, And for the pastures of the wilderness a dirge, Because they are laid waste so that no one passes through, And the lowing of the cattle is not heard; Both the birds of the sky and the beasts have fled; they are gone.(nasb) Jer 9:10 Super montes assumam fletum ac lamentum, et super speciosa deserti planctum, quoniam incensa sunt, eo quod non sit vir pertransiens, et non audierunt vocem possidentis: a volucre cæli usque ad pecora transmigraverunt et recesserunt.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:10 Sobre los montes levantaré lloro y lamentación, y llanto sobre los pastos del desierto; porque desolados fueron hasta no quedar quien pase, ni oyeron bramido de ganado; desde las aves del cielo hasta las bestias de la tierra huyeron, y se fueron.(E) Jérémie 9:10 Sur les montagnes je veux pleurer et gémir, Sur les plaines du désert je prononce une complainte; Car elles sont brûlées, personne n'y passe, On n'y entend plus la voix des troupeaux; Les oiseaux du ciel et les bêtes ont pris la fuite, ont disparu. -(F) Jer 9:10 Ich muß auf den Bergen weinen und heulen und bei den Hürden in der Wüste klagen; denn sie sind so gar verheert, daß niemand da wandelt und man auch nicht ein Vieh schreien hört. Es ist beides, Vögel des Himmels und das Vieh, alles weg.(D) Jer 9:10 καὶ δώσω τὴν Ιερουσαλημ εἰς μετοικίαν καὶ εἰς κατοικητήριον δρακόντων καὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα εἰς ἀφανισμὸν θήσομαι παρὰ τὸ μὴ κατοικεῖσθαι(lxx) Jer 9:10 I will take up a weeping and wailing for the mountains, And for the dwelling places of the wilderness a lamentation, Because they are burned up, So that no one can pass through; Nor can men hear the voice of the cattle. Both the birds of the heavens and the beasts have fled; They are gone.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:11 ============ Jer 9:11 "I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, A haunt of jackals; And I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant."(nasb) Jer 9:11 Et dabo Jerusalem in acervos arenæ, et cubilia draconum: et civitates Juda dabo in desolationem, eo quod non sit habitator.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:11 Y convertiré a Jerusalén en un montón de ruinas, en guarida de dragones; y de las ciudades de Judá haré asolamiento, que no quede morador.(E) Jérémie 9:11 Je ferai de Jérusalem un monceau de ruines, un repaire de chacals, Et je réduirai les villes de Juda en un désert sans habitants. -(F) Jer 9:11 Und ich will Jerusalem zum Steinhaufen und zur Wohnung der Schakale machen und will die Städte Juda's wüst machen, daß niemand darin wohnen soll.(D) Jer 9:11 τίς ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ συνετός καὶ συνέτω τοῦτο καὶ ᾧ λόγος στόματος κυρίου πρὸς αὐτόν ἀναγγειλάτω ὑμῖν ἕνεκεν τίνος ἀπώλετο ἡ γῆ ἀνήφθη ὡς ἔρημος παρὰ τὸ μὴ διοδεύεσθαι αὐτήν(lxx) Jer 9:11 "I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a den of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:12 ============ Jer 9:12 Who is the wise man that may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined, laid waste like a desert, so that no one passes through?(nasb) Jer 9:12 Quis est vir sapiens qui intelligat hoc, et ad quem verbum oris Domini fiat, ut annuntiet istud, quare perierit terra, et exusta sit quasi desertum, eo quod non sit qui pertranseat?(vulgate) Jeremías 9:12 ¿Quién [es] varón sabio que entienda esto? ¿Y a quién habló la boca de Jehová, para que pueda declararlo? ¿Por qué causa la tierra ha perecido, ha sido asolada como desierto, que no hay quien pase?(E) Jérémie 9:12 Où est l'homme sage qui comprenne ces choses? Qu'il le dise, celui à qui la bouche de l'Eternel a parlé! Pourquoi le pays est-il détruit, Brûlé comme un désert où personne ne passe?(F) Jer 9:12 Wer nun weise wäre und ließe es sich zu Herzen gehen und verkündigte, was des HERRN Mund zu ihm sagt, warum das Land verderbt und verheert wird wie eine Wüste, da niemand wandelt!(D) Jer 9:12 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με διὰ τὸ ἐγκαταλιπεῖν αὐτοὺς τὸν νόμον μου ὃν ἔδωκα πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς μου(lxx) Jer 9:12 Who is the wise man who may understand this? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:13 ============ Jer 9:13 The Lord said, "Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice nor walked according to it,(nasb) Jer 9:13 Et dixit Dominus: Quia dereliquerunt legem meam quam dedi eis, et non audierunt vocem meam, et non ambulaverunt in ea,(vulgate) Jeremías 9:13 Y dijo Jehová: Porque dejaron mi ley, la cual di delante de ellos, y no obedecieron a mi voz, ni caminaron conforme a ella;(E) Jérémie 9:13 L'Eternel dit: C'est parce qu'ils ont abandonné ma loi, Que j'avais mise devant eux; Parce qu'ils n'ont point écouté ma voix, Et qu'ils ne l'ont point suivie;(F) Jer 9:13 Und der HERR sprach: Darum daß sie mein Gesetz verlassen, daß ich ihnen vorgelegt habe, und gehorchen meiner Rede nicht, leben auch nicht darnach,(D) Jer 9:13 ἀλλ᾽ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω τῶν ἀρεστῶν τῆς καρδίας αὐτῶν τῆς κακῆς καὶ ὀπίσω τῶν εἰδώλων ἃ ἐδίδαξαν αὐτοὺς οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν(lxx) Jer 9:13 And the Lord said, "Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:14 ============ Jer 9:14 but have walked after the stubbornness of their heart and after the Baals, as their fathers taught them,"(nasb) Jer 9:14 et abierunt post pravitatem cordis sui, et post Baalim, quod didicerunt a patribus suis:(vulgate) Jeremías 9:14 antes se fueron tras la imaginación de su corazón, y en pos de los Baales que les enseñaron sus padres.(E) Jérémie 9:14 Parce qu'ils ont suivi les penchants de leur coeur, Et qu'ils sont allés après les Baals, Comme leurs pères le leur ont appris.(F) Jer 9:14 sondern folgen ihres Herzens Gedünken und den Baalim, wie sie ihre Väter gelehrt haben:(D) Jer 9:14 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ψωμιῶ αὐτοὺς ἀνάγκας καὶ ποτιῶ αὐτοὺς ὕδωρ χολῆς(lxx) Jer 9:14 but they have walked according to the dictates of their own hearts and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them,"(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:15 ============ Jer 9:15 therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,"behold, I will feed them, this people, with wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink.(nasb) Jer 9:15 idcirco hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël: Ecce ego cibabo populum istum absinthio, et potum dabo eis aquam fellis.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:15 Por tanto así dice Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que a este pueblo yo les daré a comer ajenjo, y les daré a beber aguas de hiel.(E) Jérémie 9:15 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Voici, je vais nourrir ce peuple d'absinthe, Et je lui ferai boire des eaux empoisonnées.(F) Jer 9:15 darum spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, also: Siehe ich will dies Volk mit Wermut speisen und mit Galle tränken;(D) Jer 9:15 καὶ διασκορπιῶ αὐτοὺς ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εἰς οὓς οὐκ ἐγίνωσκον αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπαποστελῶ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς τὴν μάχαιραν ἕως τοῦ ἐξαναλῶσαι αὐτοὺς ἐν αὐτῇ(lxx) Jer 9:15 therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: "Behold, I will feed them, this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:16 ============ Jer 9:16 I will scatter them among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them until I have annihilated them."(nasb) Jer 9:16 Et dispergam eos in gentibus quas non noverunt ipsi et patres eorum, et mittam post eos gladium, donec consumantur.(vulgate) Jeremías 9:16 Y los esparciré entre gentes que ni ellos ni sus padres conocieron; y enviaré espada en pos de ellos, hasta que yo los acabe.(E) Jérémie 9:16 Je les disperserai parmi des nations Que n'ont connues ni eux ni leurs pères, Et j'enverrai derrière eux l'épée, Jusqu'à ce que je les aie exterminés.(F) Jer 9:16 ich will sie unter die Heiden zerstreuen, welche weder sie noch ihre Väter gekannt haben, und will das Schwert hinter sie schicken, bis daß es aus mit ihnen sei.(D) Jer 9:16 τάδε λέγει κύριος καλέσατε τὰς θρηνούσας καὶ ἐλθέτωσαν καὶ πρὸς τὰς σοφὰς ἀποστείλατε καὶ φθεγξάσθωσαν(lxx) Jer 9:16 I will scatter them also among the Gentiles, whom neither they nor their fathers have known. And I will send a sword after them until I have consumed them."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 9:17 ============ Jer 9:17 Thus says the Lord of hosts, "Consider and call for the mourning women, that they may come; And send for the wailing women, that they may come!(nasb) Jer 9:17 Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël: Contemplamini, et vocate lamentatrices, et veniant: et ad eas quæ sapientes sunt mittite, et properent:(vulgate) Jeremías 9:17 Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Considerad, y llamad plañideras que vengan; y enviad por las [mujeres] hábiles, que vengan;(E) Jérémie 9:17 Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées: Cherchez, appelez les pleureuses, et qu'elles viennent!
