Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 5:1 ============ Jer 5:1 "Roam to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, And look now and take note. And seek in her open squares, If you can find a man, If there is one who does justice, who seeks truth, Then I will pardon her.(nasb) Jer 5:1 [Circuite vias Jerusalem, et aspicite, et considerate, et quærite in plateis ejus, an inveniatis virum facientem judicium, et quærentem fidem: et propitius ero ei.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:1 Recorred las calles de Jerusalén, y mirad ahora, y sabed, y buscad en sus plazas si podéis hallar algún hombre, si hay [alguno] que haga juicio, que busque verdad; y yo la perdonaré.(E) Jérémie 5:1 Parcourez les rues de Jérusalem, Regardez, informez-vous, cherchez dans les places, S'il s'y trouve un homme, s'il y en a un Qui pratique la justice, qui s'attache à la vérité, Et je pardonne à Jérusalem.(F) Jer 5:1 Gehet durch die Gassen zu Jerusalem und schauet und erfahret und suchet auf ihrer Straße, ob ihr jemand findet, der recht tue und nach dem Glauben frage, so will ich dir gnädig sein.(D) Jer 5:1 περιδράμετε ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἴδετε καὶ γνῶτε καὶ ζητήσατε ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις αὐτῆς ἐὰν εὕρητε ἄνδρα εἰ ἔστιν ποιῶν κρίμα καὶ ζητῶν πίστιν καὶ ἵλεως ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς λέγει κύριος(lxx) Jer 5:1 "Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:2 ============ Jer 5:2 "And although they say, 'As the Lord lives, 'Surely they swear falsely."(nasb) Jer 5:2 Quod si etiam: Vivit Dominus, dixerint, et hoc falso jurabunt.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:2 Y aunque digan: Vive Jehová; ciertamente juran falsamente.(E) Jérémie 5:2 Même quand ils disent: L'Eternel est vivant! C'est faussement qu'ils jurent.(F) Jer 5:2 Und wenn sie schon sprechen: "Bei dem lebendigen Gott!", so schwören sie doch falsch.(D) Jer 5:2 ζῇ κύριος λέγουσιν διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἐπὶ ψεύδεσιν ὀμνύουσιν(lxx) Jer 5:2 Though they say, 'As the Lord lives,' Surely they swear falsely."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:3 ============ Jer 5:3 O Lord, do not Your eyes look for truth? You have smitten them, But they did not weaken; You have consumed them, But they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to repent.(nasb) Jer 5:3 Domine, oculi tui respiciunt fidem: percussisti eos, et non doluerunt; attrivisti eos, et renuerunt accipere disciplinam: induraverunt facies suas supra petram, et noluerunt reverti.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:3 Oh Jehová, ¿no miran tus ojos a la verdad? Los azotaste, y no les dolió; los consumiste, [pero] no quisieron recibir corrección; endurecieron sus rostros más que la piedra, no quisieron arrepentirse.(E) Jérémie 5:3 Eternel, tes yeux n'aperçoivent-ils pas la vérité? Tu les frappes, et ils ne sentent rien; Tu les consumes, et ils ne veulent pas recevoir instruction; Ils prennent un visage plus dur que le roc, Ils refusent de se convertir.(F) Jer 5:3 HERR, deine Augen sehen nach dem Glauben. Du schlägst sie, aber sie fühlen's nicht; du machst es schier aus mit ihnen, aber sie bessern sich nicht. Sie haben ein härter Angesicht denn ein Fels und wollen sich nicht bekehren.(D) Jer 5:3 κύριε οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου εἰς πίστιν ἐμαστίγωσας αὐτούς καὶ οὐκ ἐπόνεσαν συνετέλεσας αὐτούς καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησαν δέξασθαι παιδείαν ἐστερέωσαν τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ὑπὲρ πέτραν καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησαν ἐπιστραφῆναι(lxx) Jer 5:3 O Lord, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, But they have not grieved; You have consumed them, But they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to return.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:4 ============ Jer 5:4 Then I said, "They are only the poor, They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the Lord Or the ordinance of their God.(nasb) Jer 5:4 Ego autem dixi: Forsitan pauperes sunt et stulti, ignorantes viam Domini, judicium Dei sui.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:4 Pero yo dije: Ciertamente ellos [son] pobres, han enloquecido, pues no conocen el camino de Jehová, el juicio de su Dios.(E) Jérémie 5:4 Je disais: Ce ne sont que les petits; Ils agissent en insensés, parce qu'ils ne connaissent pas la voie de l'Eternel, La loi de leur Dieu.(F) Jer 5:4 Ich dachte aber: Wohlan, der arme Haufe ist unverständig, weiß nichts um des HERRN Weg und um ihres Gottes Recht.(D) Jer 5:4 καὶ ἐγὼ εἶπα ἴσως πτωχοί εἰσιν διότι οὐκ ἐδυνάσθησαν ὅτι οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ὁδὸν κυρίου καὶ κρίσιν θεοῦ(lxx) Jer 5:4 Therefore I said, "Surely these are poor. They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the Lord, The judgment of their God.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:5 ============ Jer 5:5 "I will go to the great And will speak to them, For they know the way of the Lord And the ordinance of their God." But they too, with one accord, have broken the yoke And burst the bonds.(nasb) Jer 5:5 Ibo igitur ad optimates, et loquar eis: ipsi enim cognoverunt viam Domini, judicium Dei sui: et ecce magis hi simul confregerunt jugum; ruperunt vincula.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:5 Me iré a los grandes, y les hablaré; porque ellos conocen el camino de Jehová, el juicio de su Dios. Pero ellos también quebraron el yugo [y] rompieron las coyundas.(E) Jérémie 5:5 J'irai vers les grands, et je leur parlerai; Car eux, ils connaissent la voie de l'Eternel, La loi de leur Dieu; Mais ils ont tous aussi brisé le joug, Rompu les liens.(F) Jer 5:5 Ich will zu den Gewaltigen gehen und mit ihnen reden; die werden um des HERRN Weg und ihres Gottes Recht wissen. Aber sie allesamt hatten das Joch zerbrochen und die Seile zerrissen.(D) Jer 5:5 πορεύσομαι πρὸς τοὺς ἁδροὺς καὶ λαλήσω αὐτοῖς ὅτι αὐτοὶ ἐπέγνωσαν ὁδὸν κυρίου καὶ κρίσιν θεοῦ καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁμοθυμαδὸν συνέτριψαν ζυγόν διέρρηξαν δεσμούς(lxx) Jer 5:5 I will go to the great men and speak to them, For they have known the way of the Lord, The judgment of their God." But these have altogether broken the yoke And burst the bonds.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:6 ============ Jer 5:6 Therefore a lion from the forest will slay them, A wolf of the deserts will destroy them, A leopard is watching their cities. Everyone who goes out of them will be torn in pieces, Because their transgressions are many, Their apostasies are numerous.(nasb) Jer 5:6 Idcirco percussit eos leo de silva; lupus ad vesperam vastavit eos: pardus vigilans super civitates eorum: omnis qui egressus fuerit ex eis capietur: quia multiplicatæ sunt prævaricationes eorum; confortatæ sunt aversiones eorum.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:6 Por tanto, el león de la selva los herirá, los destruirá el lobo del desierto, el leopardo acechará sobre sus ciudades; cualquiera que de ellas saliere, será despedazado: porque sus rebeliones se han multiplicado, se han aumentado sus deslealtades.(E) Jérémie 5:6 C'est pourquoi le lion de la forêt les tue, Le loup du désert les détruit, La panthère est aux aguets devant leurs villes; Tous ceux qui en sortiront seront déchirés; Car leurs transgressions sont nombreuses, Leurs infidélités se sont multipliées.(F) Jer 5:6 Darum wird sie auch der Löwe, der aus dem Walde kommt, zerreißen, und der Wolf aus der Wüste wird sie verderben, und der Parder wird um ihre Städte lauern; alle, die daselbst herausgehen, wird er fressen. Denn ihrer Sünden sind zuviel, und sie bleiben verstockt in ihrem Ungehorsam.(D) Jer 5:6 διὰ τοῦτο ἔπαισεν αὐτοὺς λέων ἐκ τοῦ δρυμοῦ καὶ λύκος ἕως τῶν οἰκιῶν ὠλέθρευσεν αὐτούς καὶ πάρδαλις ἐγρηγόρησεν ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν πάντες οἱ ἐκπορευόμενοι ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν θηρευθήσονται ὅτι ἐπλήθυναν ἀσεβείας αὐτῶν ἴσχυσαν ἐν ταῖς ἀποστροφαῖς αὐτῶν(lxx) Jer 5:6 Therefore a lion from the forest shall slay them, A wolf of the deserts shall destroy them; A leopard will watch over their cities. Your sons have forsaken Me And sworn by those who are not gods. When I had fed them to the full, They committed adultery And trooped to the harlot's house.(nasb) Jer 5:7 Super quo propitius tibi esse potero? filii tui dereliquerunt me, et jurant in his qui non sunt dii. Saturavi eos, et mœchati sunt, et in domo meretricis luxuriabantur.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:7 ¿Cómo te he de perdonar por esto? Tus hijos me dejaron, y juraron por [lo que] no [es] Dios. Los sacié, y adulteraron, y en casa de rameras se juntaron en compañías.(E) Jérémie 5:7 Pourquoi te pardonnerais-je? Tes enfants m'ont abandonné, Et ils jurent par des dieux qui n'existent pas. J'ai reçu leurs serments, et ils se livrent à l'adultère, Ils sont en foule dans la maison de la prostituée.(F) Jer 5:7 Wie soll ich dir denn gnädig sein, weil mich meine Kinder verlassen und schwören bei dem, der nicht Gott ist? und nun ich ihnen vollauf gegeben habe, treiben sie Ehebruch und laufen ins Hurenhaus.(D) Jer 5:7 ποίᾳ τούτων ἵλεως γένωμαί σοι οἱ υἱοί σου ἐγκατέλιπόν με καὶ ὤμνυον ἐν τοῖς οὐκ οὖσιν θεοῖς καὶ ἐχόρτασα αὐτούς καὶ ἐμοιχῶντο καὶ ἐν οἴκοις πορνῶν κατέλυον(lxx) Jer 5:7 "How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me And sworn by those that are not gods. When I had fed them to the full, Then they committed adultery And assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:8 ============ Jer 5:8 "They were well-fed lusty horses, Each one neighing after his neighbor's wife.(nasb) Jer 5:8 Equi amatores et emissarii facti sunt: unusquisque ad uxorem proximi sui hinniebat.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:8 Como caballos bien alimentados de mañana, cada cual relinchaba tras la esposa de su prójimo.(E) Jérémie 5:8 Semblables à des chevaux bien nourris, qui courent çà et là, Ils hennissent chacun après la femme de son prochain.(F) Jer 5:8 Ein jeglicher wiehert nach seines Nächsten Weib wie die vollen, müßigen Hengste.(D) Jer 5:8 ἵπποι θηλυμανεῖς ἐγενήθησαν ἕκαστος ἐπὶ τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐχρεμέτιζον(lxx) Jer 5:8 They were like well-fed lusty stallions; Every one neighed after his neighbor's wife.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:9 ============ Jer 5:9 "Shall I not punish these people," declares the Lord, "And on a nation such as this Shall I not avenge Myself?(nasb) Jer 5:9 Numquid super his non visitabo, dicit Dominus, et in gente tali non ulciscetur anima mea?(vulgate) Jeremías 5:9 ¿No he de castigar por esto? dice Jehová. De una gente como ésta ¿no se ha de vengar mi alma?(E) Jérémie 5:9 Ne châtierais-je pas ces choses-là, dit l'Eternel, Ne me vengerais-je pas d'une pareille nation?(F) Jer 5:9 Und ich sollte sie um solches nicht heimsuchen? spricht der HERR, und meine Seele sollte sich nicht rächen an solchem Volk, wie dies ist?(D) Jer 5:9 μὴ ἐπὶ τούτοις οὐκ ἐπισκέψομαι λέγει κύριος ἢ ἐν ἔθνει τοιούτῳ οὐκ ἐκδικήσει ἡ ψυχή μου(lxx) Jer 5:9 Shall I not punish them for these things?" says the Lord. "And shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:10 ============ Jer 5:10 "Go up through her vine rows and destroy, But do not execute a complete destruction; Strip away her branches, For they are not the Lord's.(nasb) Jer 5:10 Ascendite muros ejus, et dissipate: consummationem autem nolite facere: auferte propagines ejus, quia non sunt Domini.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:10 Escalad sus muros, y destruid; mas no hagáis consumación: quitad las almenas de sus muros, porque no [son] de Jehová.(E) Jérémie 5:10 Montez sur ses murailles, et abattez, Mais ne détruisez pas entièrement! Enlevez ses ceps Qui n'appartiennent point à l'Eternel!(F) Jer 5:10 Stürmet ihre Mauern und werfet sie um, und macht's nicht gar aus! Führet ihre Reben weg, denn sie sind nicht des HERRN;(D) Jer 5:10 ἀνάβητε ἐπὶ τοὺς προμαχῶνας αὐτῆς καὶ κατασκάψατε συντέλειαν δὲ μὴ ποιήσητε ὑπολίπεσθε τὰ ὑποστηρίγματα αὐτῆς ὅτι τοῦ κυρίου εἰσίν(lxx) Jer 5:10 "Go up on her walls and destroy, But do not make a complete end. Et le malheur ne viendra pas sur nous, Nous ne verrons ni l'épée ni la famine.(F) Jer 5:12 Sie verleugnen den HERRN und sprechen: "Das ist er nicht, und so übel wird es uns nicht gehen; Schwert und Hunger werden wir nicht sehen.(D) Jer 5:12 ἐψεύσαντο τῷ κυρίῳ ἑαυτῶν καὶ εἶπαν οὐκ ἔστιν ταῦτα οὐχ ἥξει ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς κακά καὶ μάχαιραν καὶ λιμὸν οὐκ ὀψόμεθα(lxx) Jer 5:12 They have lied about the Lord, And said, "It is not He. Neither will evil come upon us, Nor shall we see sword or famine.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:13 ============ Jer 5:13 "The prophets are as wind, And the word is not in them. Thus it will be done to them!"(nasb) Jer 5:13 Prophetæ fuerunt in ventum locuti, et responsum non fuit in eis: hæc ergo evenient illis.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:13 y los profetas serán como el viento, y no [hay] en ellos palabra; así se hará a ellos.(E) Jérémie 5:13 Les prophètes ne sont que du vent, Et personne ne parle en eux. Qu'il leur soit fait ainsi!(F) Jer 5:13 Ja, die Propheten sind Schwätzer und haben auch Gottes Wort nicht; es gehe über sie selbst also!"(D) Jer 5:13 οἱ προφῆται ἡμῶν ἦσαν εἰς ἄνεμον καὶ λόγος κυρίου οὐχ ὑπῆρχεν ἐν αὐτοῖς οὕτως ἔσται αὐτοῖς(lxx) Jer 5:13 And the prophets become wind, For the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:14 ============ Jer 5:14 Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts," Because you have spoken this word, Behold, I am making My words in your mouth fire And this people wood, and it will consume them.(nasb) Jer 5:14 Hæc dicit Dominus Deus exercituum: Quia locuti estis verbum istud, ecce ego do verba mea in ore tuo in ignem, et populum istum in ligna, et vorabit eos.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:14 Por tanto, así dice Jehová Dios de los ejércitos: Porque hablasteis esta palabra, he aquí yo pongo mis palabras en tu boca por fuego, y a este pueblo por leña, y los consumirá.(E) Jérémie 5:14 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel, le Dieu des armées: Parce que vous avez dit cela, Voici, je veux que ma parole dans ta bouche soit du feu, Et ce peuple du bois, et que ce feu les consume.(F) Jer 5:14 Darum spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth: Weil ihr solche Rede treibt, siehe, so will ich meine Worte in deinem Munde zu Feuer machen, und dies Volk zu Holz, und es soll sie verzehren.(D) Jer 5:14 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ἐλαλήσατε τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δέδωκα τοὺς λόγους μου εἰς τὸ στόμα σου πῦρ καὶ τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον ξύλα καὶ καταφάγεται αὐτούς(lxx) Jer 5:14 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: "Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 5:15 ============ Jer 5:15 "Behold, I am bringing a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel," declares the Lord." It is an enduring nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know, Nor can you understand what they say.(nasb) Jer 5:15 Ecce ego adducam super vos gentem de longinquo, domus Israël, ait Dominus: gentem robustam, gentem antiquam, gentem cujus ignorabis linguam, nec intelliges quid loquatur.(vulgate) Jeremías 5:15 He aquí yo traigo sobre vosotros gente de lejos, oh casa de Israel, dice Jehová; gente robusta, gente antigua, gente cuya lengua ignorarás, y no entenderás lo que hablare.(E) Jérémie 5:15 Voici, je fais venir de loin une nation contre vous, maison d'Israël, Dit l'Eternel; C'est une nation forte, c'est une nation ancienne, Une nation dont tu ne connais pas la langue, Et dont tu ne comprendras point les paroles.(F) Jer 5:15 Siehe, ich will über euch vom Hause Israel, spricht der HERR, ein Volk von ferne bringen, ein mächtiges Volk, dessen Sprache du nicht verstehst, und kannst nicht vernehmen, was sie reden.(D) Jer 5:15 ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς ἔθνος πόρρωθεν οἶκος Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος ἔθνος οὗ οὐκ ἀκούσῃ τῆς φωνῆς τῆς γλώσσης αὐτοῦ(lxx) Jer 5:15 Behold, I will bring a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel," says the Lord.
