para que bebiesen en ellos el rey y sus príncipes, sus esposas y sus concubinas.(E) Daniel 5:2 Belschatsar, quand il eut goûté au vin, fit apporter les vases d'or et d'argent que son père Nebucadnetsar avait enlevés du temple de Jérusalem, afin que le roi et ses grands, ses femmes et ses concubines, s'en servissent pour boire.(F) Dan 5:2 Und da er trunken war, hieß er die goldenen und silbernen Gefäße herbringen, die sein Vater Nebukadnezar aus dem Tempel zu Jerusalem weggenommen hatte, daß der König mit seinen Gewaltigen, mit seinen Weibern und mit seinen Kebsweibern daraus tränken.(D) Dan 5:2 καὶ ἀνυψώθη ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν ἐνέγκαι τὰ σκεύη τὰ χρυσᾶ καὶ τὰ ἀργυρᾶ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ ἃ ἤνεγκε Ναβουχοδονοσορ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ οἰνοχοῆσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς τοῖς ἑταίροις αὐτοῦ(lxx) Dan 5:2 While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:3 ============ Dan 5:3 Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken out of the temple, the house of God which was in Jerusalem; and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines drank from them.(nasb) Dan 5:3 Tunc allata sunt vasa aurea, et argentea, quae asportaverat de templo, quod fuerat in Ierusalem: et biberunt in eis rex, et optimates ejus, uxores et concubinae illius.(vulgate) Daniel 5:3 Entonces fueron traídos los vasos de oro que habían sido sacados del templo, la casa de Dios que [estaba] en Jerusalén, y bebieron en ellos el rey y sus príncipes, sus esposas y sus concubinas.(E) Daniel 5:3 Alors on apporta les vases d'or qui avaient été enlevés du temple, de la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem; und der König, seine Gewaltigen, seine Weiber und Kebsweiber tranken daraus.(D) Dan 5:3 καὶ ἠνέχθη καὶ ἔπινον ἐν αὐτοῖς(lxx) Dan 5:3 Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:4 ============ Dan 5:4 They drank the wine and praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.(nasb) Dan 5:4 Bibebant vinum, et laudabant deos suos aureos et argenteos, aereos, ferreos, ligneosque et lapideos.(vulgate) Daniel 5:4 Bebieron vino, y alabaron a los dioses de oro y de plata, de bronce, de hierro, de madera y de piedra.(E) Daniel 5:4 Ils burent du vin, et ils louèrent les dieux d'or, d'argent, d'airain, de fer, de bois et de pierre.(F) Dan 5:4 Und da sie so soffen, lobten sie die goldenen, silbernen, ehernen, eisernen, hölzernen und steinernen Götter.(D) Dan 5:4 καὶ ηὐλόγουν τὰ εἴδωλα τὰ χειροποίητα αὐτῶν καὶ τὸν θεὸν τοῦ αἰῶνος οὐκ εὐλόγησαν τὸν ἔχοντα τὴν ἐξουσίαν τοῦ πνεύματος αὐτῶν(lxx) Dan 5:4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:5 ============ Dan 5:5 Suddenly the fingers of a man's hand emerged and began writing opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace, and the king saw the back of the hand that did the writing.(nasb) Dan 5:5 In eadem hora apparuerunt digiti, quasi manus hominis scribentis contra candelabrum in superficie parietis aulae regiae: et rex aspiciebat articulos manus scribentis.(vulgate) Daniel 5:5 En aquella misma hora salieron unos dedos de mano de hombre, y escribían delante del candelero sobre lo encalado de la pared del palacio real, y el rey veía la palma de la mano que escribía.(E) Daniel 5:5 En ce moment, apparurent les doigts d'une main d'homme, et ils écrivirent, en face du chandelier, sur la chaux de la muraille du palais royal. Le roi vit cette extrémité de main qui écrivait.(F) Dan 5:5 Eben zu derselben Stunde gingen hervor Finger wie einer Menschenhand, die schrieben, gegenüber dem Leuchter, auf die getünchte Wand in dem königlichen Saal; und der König ward gewahr der Hand, die da schrieb.(D) Dan 5:5 ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐξῆλθον δάκτυλοι ὡσεὶ χειρὸς ἀνθρώπου καὶ ἔγραψαν ἐπὶ τοῦ τοίχου τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοῦ κονιάματος κατέναντι τοῦ φωτὸς ἔναντι τοῦ βασιλέως Βαλτασαρ καὶ εἶδε χεῖρα γράφουσαν(lxx) Dan 5:5 In the same hour the fingers of a man's hand appeared and wrote opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace; and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:6 ============ Dan 5:6 Then the king's face grew pale and his thoughts alarmed him, and his hip joints went slack and his knees began knocking together.(nasb) Dan 5:6 Tunc facies regis commutata est, et cogitationes ejus conturbabant eum: et compages renum ejus solvebantur, et genua ejus ad se invicem collidebantur.(vulgate) Daniel 5:6 Entonces se demudó el semblante del rey, y sus pensamientos lo turbaron, y se soltaron las coyunturas de sus lomos y sus rodillas se batían la una con la otra.(E) Daniel 5:6 Alors le roi changea de couleur, et ses pensées le troublèrent; les jointures de ses reins se relâchèrent, et ses genoux se heurtèrent l'un contre l'autre.(F) Dan 5:6 Da entfärbte sich der König, und seine Gedanken erschreckten ihn, daß ihm die Lenden schütterten und die Beine zitterten.(D) Dan 5:6 καὶ ἡ ὅρασις αὐτοῦ ἠλλοιώθη καὶ φόβοι καὶ ὑπόνοιαι αὐτὸν κατέσπευδον ἔσπευσεν οὖν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἐξανέστη καὶ ἑώρα τὴν γραφὴν ἐκείνην καὶ οἱ συνεταῖροι κύκλῳ αὐτοῦ ἐκαυχῶντο(lxx) Dan 5:6 Then the king's countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his hips were loosened and his knees knocked against each other.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:7 ============ Dan 5:7 The king called aloud to bring in the conjurers, the Chaldeans and the diviners. The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, "Any man who can read this inscription and explain its interpretation to me shall be clothed with purple and have a necklace of gold around his neck, and have authority as third ruler in the kingdom."(nasb) Dan 5:7 Exclamavit itaque rex fortiter ut introducerent magos, Chaldaeos, et aruspices. Et proloquens rex ait sapientibus Babylonis: Quicumque legerit scripturam hanc, et interpretationem ejus manifestam mihi fecerit, purpura vestietur, et torquem auream habebit in collo, et tertius in regno meo erit.(vulgate) Daniel 5:7 El rey gritó en alta voz que hiciesen venir astrólogos, caldeos, y adivinos. Habló el rey, y dijo a los sabios de Babilonia: Cualquiera que leyere esta escritura, y me mostrare su interpretación, será vestido de púrpura, y [tendrá] collar de oro a su cuello; y gobernará como el tercero en el reino.(E) Daniel 5:7 Le roi cria avec force qu'on fît venir les astrologues, les Chaldéens et les devins; et le roi prit la parole et dit aux sages de Babylone: Quiconque lira cette écriture et m'en donnera l'explication sera revêtu de pourpre, portera un collier d'or à son cou, et aura la troisième place dans le gouvernement du royaume.(F) Dan 5:7 Und der König rief überlaut, daß man die Weisen, Chaldäer und Wahrsager hereinbringen sollte. Und er ließ den Weisen zu Babel sagen: Welcher Mensch diese Schrift liest und sagen kann, was sie bedeute, der soll in Purpur gekleidet werden und eine goldene Kette am Halse tragen und der dritte Herr sein in meinem Königreiche.(D) Dan 5:7 καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐφώνησε φωνῇ μεγάλῃ καλέσαι τοὺς ἐπαοιδοὺς καὶ φαρμακοὺς καὶ Χαλδαίους καὶ γαζαρηνοὺς ἀπαγγεῖλαι τὸ σύγκριμα τῆς γραφῆς καὶ εἰσεπορεύοντο ἐπὶ θεωρίαν ἰδεῖν τὴν γραφήν καὶ τὸ σύγκριμα τῆς γραφῆς οὐκ ἐδύναντο συγκρῖναι τῷ βασιλεῖ τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐξέθηκε πρόσταγμα λέγων πᾶς ἀνήρ ὃς ἂν ὑποδείξῃ τὸ σύγκριμα τῆς γραφῆς στολιεῖ αὐτὸν πορφύραν καὶ μανιάκην χρυσοῦν περιθήσει αὐτῷ καὶ δοθήσεται αὐτῷ ἐξουσία τοῦ τρίτου μέρους τῆς βασιλείας(lxx) Dan 5:7 The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. The king spoke, saying to the wise men of Babylon, "Whoever reads this writing, and tells me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck; and he shall be the third ruler in the kingdom."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:8 ============ Dan 5:8 Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the inscription or make known its interpretation to the king.(nasb) Dan 5:8 Tunc ingressi omnes sapientes regis non potuerunt nec scripturam legere, nec interpretationem indicare regi.(vulgate) Daniel 5:8 Entonces fueron introducidos todos los sabios del rey, y no pudieron leer la escritura, ni mostrar al rey su interpretación.(E) Daniel 5:8 Tous les sages du roi entrèrent; mais ils ne purent pas lire l'écriture et en donner au roi l'explication.(F) Dan 5:8 Da wurden alle Weisen des Königs hereingebracht; aber sie konnten weder die Schrift lesen noch die Deutung dem König anzeigen.(D) Dan 5:8 καὶ εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ ἐπαοιδοὶ καὶ φαρμακοὶ καὶ γαζαρηνοί καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο οὐδεὶς τὸ σύγκριμα τῆς γραφῆς ἀπαγγεῖλαι(lxx) Dan 5:8 Now all the king's wise men came, but they could not read the writing, or make known to the king its interpretation.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:9 ============ Dan 5:9 Then King Belshazzar was greatly alarmed, his face grew even paler, and his nobles were perplexed.(nasb) Dan 5:9 Unde rex Baltassar satis conturbatus est, et vultus illius immutatus est; sed et optimates ejus turbabantur.(vulgate) Daniel 5:9 Entonces el rey Belsasar se turbó en gran manera, y se le demudó su semblante y sus príncipes quedaron atónitos.(E) Daniel 5:9 Sur quoi le roi Belschatsar, fut très effrayé, il changea de couleur, et ses grands furent consternés.(F) Dan 5:9 Darüber erschrak der König Belsazer noch härter und verlor ganz seine Farbe; und seinen Gewaltigen ward bange.(D) Dan 5:9 τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκάλεσε τὴν βασίλισσαν περὶ τοῦ σημείου καὶ ὑπέδειξεν αὐτῇ ὡς μέγα ἐστί καὶ ὅτι πᾶς ἄνθρωπος οὐ δύναται ἀπαγγεῖλαι τῷ βασιλεῖ τὸ σύγκριμα τῆς γραφῆς(lxx) Dan 5:9 Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, his countenance was changed, and his lords were astonished.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:10 ============ Dan 5:10 The queen entered the banquet hall because of the words of the king and his nobles; the queen spoke and said, "O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts alarm you or your face be pale.(nasb) Dan 5:10 Regina autem pro re, quae acciderat regi et optimatibus ejus, domum convivii ingressa est: et proloquens ait: Rex, in aeternum vive! non te conturbent cogitationes tuae, neque facies tua immutetur.(vulgate) Daniel 5:10 La reina, por las palabras del rey y de sus príncipes, entró a la sala del banquete. Y habló la reina, y dijo: Rey, para siempre vive, no te asombren tus pensamientos, ni demude tu semblante.(E) Daniel 5:10 La reine, à cause des paroles du roi et de ses grands, entra dans la salle du festin, et prit ainsi la parole: O roi, vis éternellement! Que tes pensées ne te troublent pas, et que ton visage ne change pas de couleur!(F) Dan 5:10 Da ging die Königin um solcher Sache des Königs und seiner Gewaltigen willen hinein in den Saal und sprach: Der König lebe ewiglich! Laß dich deine Gedanken nicht so erschrecken und entfärbe dich nicht also!(D) Dan 5:10 τότε ἡ βασίλισσα ἐμνήσθη πρὸς αὐτὸν περὶ τοῦ Δανιηλ ὃς ἦν ἐκ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας τῆς Ιουδαίας(lxx) Dan 5:10 The queen, because of the words of the king and his lords, came to the banquet hall. The queen spoke, saying, "O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your countenance change.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:11 ============ Dan 5:11 There is a man in your kingdom in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, illumination, insight and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him. And King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, your father the king, appointed him chief of the magicians, conjurers, Chaldeans and diviners.(nasb) Dan 5:11 Est vir in regno tuo, qui spiritum deorum sanctorum habet in se, et in diebus patris tui scientia et sapientia inventae sunt in eo: nam et rex Nabuchodonosor pater tuus principem magorum, incantatorum, Chaldaeorum, et aruspicum constituit eum, pater, inquam, tuus, o rex:(vulgate) Daniel 5:11 En tu reino hay un varón, en el cual mora el espíritu de los dioses santos; y en los días de tu padre se halló en él luz e inteligencia y sabiduría, como la sabiduría de los dioses; al cual tu padre el rey Nabucodonosor, [digo], tu padre el rey, constituyó príncipe sobre todos los magos, astrólogos, caldeos y adivinos;(E) Daniel 5:11 Il y a dans ton royaume un homme qui a en lui l'esprit des dieux saints; et du temps de ton père, on trouva chez lui des lumières, de l'intelligence, et une sagesse semblable à la sagesse des dieux. Aussi le roi Nebucadnetsar, ton père, le roi, ton père, l'établit chef des magiciens, des astrologues, des Chaldéens, des devins,(F) Dan 5:11 Es ist ein Mann in deinem Königreich, der den Geist der heiligen Götter hat. Denn zu deines Vaters Zeit ward bei ihm Erleuchtung gefunden, Klugheit und Weisheit, wie der Götter Weisheit ist; und dein Vater, König Nebukadnezar, setzte ihn über die Sternseher, Weisen, Chaldäer und Wahrsager,(D) Dan 5:11 καὶ εἶπε τῷ βασιλεῖ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐπιστήμων ἦν καὶ σοφὸς καὶ ὑπερέχων πάντας τοὺς σοφοὺς Βαβυλῶνος(lxx) Dan 5:11 There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father--your father the king--made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:12 ============ Dan 5:12 This was because an extraordinary spirit, knowledge and insight, interpretation of dreams, explanation of enigmas and solving of difficult problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Let Daniel now be summoned and he will declare the interpretation."(nasb) Dan 5:12 quia spiritus amplior, et prudentia, intelligentiaque et interpretatio somniorum, et ostensio secretorum, ac solutio ligatorum inventae sunt in eo, hoc est in Daniele: cui rex posuit nomen Baltassar. Nunc itaque Daniel vocetur, et interpretationem narrabit.(vulgate) Daniel 5:12 por cuanto fue hallado en él un mayor espíritu y conocimiento e inteligencia, [para] interpretar sueños, descifrar enigmas y deshacer dudas, [es decir], en Daniel; al cual el rey puso por nombre Beltsasar. Llámese, pues, ahora a Daniel, y él mostrará la interpretación.(E) Daniel 5:12 parce qu'on trouva chez lui, chez Daniel, nommé par le roi Beltschatsar, un esprit supérieur, de la science et de l'intelligence, la faculté d'interpréter les songes, d'expliquer les énigmes, et de résoudre les questions difficiles. Que Daniel soit donc appelé, et il donnera l'explication.(F) Dan 5:12 darum daß ein hoher Geist bei ihm gefunden ward, dazu Verstand und Klugheit, Träume zu deuten, dunkle Sprüche zu erraten und verborgene Sachen zu offenbaren: nämlich Dan el, den der König ließ Beltsazar nennen. So rufe man nun Dan el; der wird sagen, was es bedeutet.(D) Dan 5:12 καὶ πνεῦμα ἅγιον ἐν αὐτῷ ἐστι καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ πατρός σου τοῦ βασιλέως συγκρίματα ὑπέρογκα ὑπέδειξε Ναβουχοδονοσορ τῷ πατρί σου(lxx) Dan 5:12 Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:13 ============ Dan 5:13 Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Are you that Daniel who is one of the exiles from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah?(nasb) Dan 5:13 Igitur introductus est Daniel coram rege: ad quem praefatus rex ait: Tu es Daniel de filiis captivitatis Judae, quem adduxit pater meus rex de Judaea?(vulgate) Daniel 5:13 Entonces Daniel fue traído delante del rey. Y habló el rey, y dijo a Daniel: [¿Eres] tú aquel Daniel de los hijos de la cautividad de Judá, que mi padre trajo de Judea?(E) Daniel 5:13 Alors Daniel fut introduit devant le roi. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel: Es-tu ce Daniel, l'un des captifs de Juda, que le roi, mon père, a amenés de Juda?(F) Dan 5:13 Da ward Dan el hinein vor den König gebracht. The king spoke, and said to Daniel, "Are you that Daniel who is one of the captives from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah?(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:14 ============ Dan 5:14 Now I have heard about you that a spirit of the gods is in you, and that illumination, insight and extraordinary wisdom have been found in you.(nasb) Dan 5:14 audivi de te, quoniam spiritum deorum habeas, et scientia, intelligentiaque ac sapientia ampliores inventae sunt in te.(vulgate) Daniel 5:14 Yo he oído de ti que el espíritu de los dioses santos [está] en ti, y que en ti se halló luz, y entendimiento y mayor sabiduría.(E) Daniel 5:14 J'ai appris sur ton compte que tu as en toi l'esprit des dieux, et qu'on trouve chez toi des lumières, de l'intelligence, et une sagesse extraordinaire.(F) Dan 5:14 Ich habe von dir hören sagen, daß du den Geist der Götter hast und Erleuchtung, Verstand und hohe Weisheit bei dir gefunden sei.(D) Dan 5:14 --(lxx) Dan 5:14 I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:15 ============ Dan 5:15 Just now the wise men and the conjurers were brought in before me that they might read this inscription and make its interpretation known to me, but they could not declare the interpretation of the message.(nasb) Dan 5:15 Et nunc introgressi sunt in conspectu meo sapientes magi, ut scripturam hanc legerent, et interpretationem ejus indicarent mihi: et nequiverunt sensum hujus sermonis edicere.(vulgate) Daniel 5:15 Y ahora fueron traídos delante de mí, sabios, astrólogos, que leyesen esta escritura, y me mostrasen su interpretación: pero no han podido mostrar la declaración del asunto.(E) Daniel 5:15 On vient d'amener devant moi les sages et les astrologues, afin qu'ils lussent cette écriture et m'en donnassent l'explication; mais ils n'ont pas pu donner l'explication des mots.(F) Dan 5:15 Nun habe ich vor mich fordern lassen die Klugen und Weisen, daß sie mir diese Schrift lesen und anzeigen sollen, was sie bedeutet: und sie können mir nicht sagen, was solches bedeutet.(D) Dan 5:15 --(lxx) Dan 5:15 Now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not give the interpretation of the thing.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 5:16 ============ Dan 5:16 But I personally have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and solve difficult problems.
