Today's Date: ======= Daniel 6:1 ============ Dan 6:1 It seemed good to Darius to appoint 120 satraps over the kingdom, that they would be in charge of the whole kingdom,(nasb) Dan 6:1 Placuit Dario, et constituit super regnum satrapas centum viginti ut essent in toto regno suo.(vulgate) Daniel 6:1 Pareció bien a Darío constituir sobre el reino ciento veinte gobernadores, que estuviesen en todo el reino.(E) Daniel 6:1 Darius trouva bon d'établir sur le royaume cent vingt satrapes, qui devaient être dans tout le royaume.(F) Dan 6:1 Und Darius sah es für gut an, daß er über das ganze Königreich setzte hundertzwanzig Landvögte.(D) Dan 6:1 καὶ Ἀρταξέρξης ὁ τῶν Μήδων παρέλαβε τὴν βασιλείαν καὶ Δαρεῖος πλήρης τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ ἔνδοξος ἐν γήρει(lxx) Dan 6:1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom;(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:2 ============ Dan 6:2 and over them three commissioners (of whom Daniel was one), that these satraps might be accountable to them, and that the king might not suffer loss.(nasb) Dan 6:2 Et super eos principes tres, ex quibus Daniel unus erat: ut satrapae illis redderent rationem, et rex non sustineret molestiam.(vulgate) Daniel 6:2 Y sobre ellos tres presidentes (de los cuales Daniel [era] el primero), a quienes estos gobernadores diesen cuenta, para que el rey no recibiese daño.(E) Daniel 6:2 Il mit à leur tête trois chefs, au nombre desquels était Daniel, afin que ces satrapes leur rendissent compte, et que le roi ne souffrît aucun dommage.(F) Dan 6:2 Über diese setzte er drei Fürsten, deren einer Dan el war, welchen die Landvögte sollten Rechnung tun, daß der König keinen Schaden litte.(D) Dan 6:2 καὶ κατέστησε σατράπας ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ἑπτὰ ἐπὶ πάσης τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ(lxx) Dan 6:2 and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:3 ============ Dan 6:3 Then this Daniel began distinguishing himself among the commissioners and satraps because he possessed an extraordinary spirit, and the king planned to appoint him over the entire kingdom.(nasb) Dan 6:3 Igitur Daniel superabat omnes principes et satrapas, quia spiritus Dei amplior erat in illo.(vulgate) Daniel 6:3 Pero el mismo Daniel era más estimado que estos gobernadores y presidentes, porque en él [había] un espíritu excelente; y el rey pensaba en ponerlo sobre todo el reino.(E) Daniel 6:3 Daniel surpassait les chefs et les satrapes, parce qu'il y avait en lui un esprit supérieur; et le roi pensait à l'établir sur tout le royaume.(F) Dan 6:3 Dan el aber übertraf die Fürsten und Landvögte alle, denn es war ein hoher Geist in ihm; darum gedachte der König, ihn über das ganze Königreich zu setzen.(D) Dan 6:3 καὶ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν ἄνδρας τρεῖς ἡγουμένους αὐτῶν καὶ Δανιηλ εἷς ἦν τῶν τριῶν ἀνδρῶν(lxx) Dan 6:3 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:4 ============ Dan 6:4 Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or evidence of corruption, inasmuch as he was faithful, and no negligence or corruption was to be found in him.(nasb) Dan 6:4 Porro rex cogitabat constituere eum super omne regnum: unde principes, et satrapae quaerebant occasionem ut invenirent Danieli ex latere regis: nullamque causam, et suspicionem reperire potuerunt, eo quod fidelis esset, et omnis culpa, et suspicio non inveniretur in eo.(vulgate) Daniel 6:4 Entonces los presidentes y gobernadores buscaban ocasiones contra Daniel por parte del reino; mas no podían hallar alguna ocasión o falta, porque él era fiel, y ningún vicio ni falta fue hallado en él.(E) Daniel 6:4 Alors les chefs et les satrapes cherchèrent une occasion d'accuser Daniel en ce qui concernait les affaires du royaume. Mais ils ne purent trouver aucune occasion, ni aucune chose à reprendre, parce qu'il était fidèle, et qu'on n'apercevait chez lui ni faute, ni rien de mauvais.(F) Dan 6:4 Derhalben trachteten die Fürsten und Landvögte darnach, wie sie eine Sache an Dan el fänden, die wider das Königreich wäre. Aber sie konnten keine Sache noch Übeltat finden; denn er war treu, daß man ihm keine Schuld noch Übeltat an ihm finden mochte.(D) Dan 6:4 ὑπὲρ πάντας ἔχων ἐξουσίαν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ καὶ Δανιηλ ἦν ἐνδεδυμένος πορφύραν καὶ μέγας καὶ ἔνδοξος ἔναντι Δαρείου τοῦ βασιλέως καθότι ἦν ἔνδοξος καὶ ἐπιστήμων καὶ συνετός καὶ πνεῦμα ἅγιον ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ εὐοδούμενος ἐν ταῖς πραγματείαις τοῦ βασιλέως αἷς ἔπρασσε τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐβουλεύσατο καταστῆσαι τὸν Δανιηλ ἐπὶ πάσης τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς δύο ἄνδρας οὓς κατέστησε μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ σατράπας ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ἑπτά(lxx) Dan 6:4 So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:5 ============ Dan 6:5 Then these men said, "We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God."(nasb) Dan 6:5 Dixerunt ergo viri illi: Non inveniemus Danieli huic aliquam occasionem, nisi forte in lege Dei sui.(vulgate) Daniel 6:5 Entonces dijeron aquellos hombres: No hallaremos contra este Daniel ocasión alguna, si no [la] hallamos contra él en relación a la ley de su Dios.(E) Daniel 6:5 Et ces hommes dirent: Nous ne trouverons aucune occasion contre ce Daniel, à moins que nous n'en trouvions une dans la loi de son Dieu.(F) Dan 6:5 Da sprachen die Männer: Wir werden keine Sache an Dan el finden außer seinem Gottesdienst.(D) Dan 6:5 ὅτε δὲ ἐβουλεύσατο ὁ βασιλεὺς καταστῆσαι τὸν Δανιηλ ἐπὶ πάσης τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ τότε βουλὴν καὶ γνώμην ἐβουλεύσαντο ἐν ἑαυτοῖς οἱ δύο νεανίσκοι πρὸς ἀλλήλους λέγοντες ἐπεὶ οὐδεμίαν ἁμαρτίαν οὐδὲ ἄγνοιαν ηὕρισκον κατὰ τοῦ Δανιηλ περὶ ἧς κατηγορήσουσιν αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα(lxx) Dan 6:5 Then these men said, "We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:6 ============ Dan 6:6 Then these commissioners and satraps came by agreement to the king and spoke to him as follows. "King Darius, live forever!(nasb) Dan 6:6 Tunc principes et satrapae surripuerunt regi, et sic locuti sunt ei: Dari rex, in aeternum vive!(vulgate) Daniel 6:6 Entonces estos gobernadores y presidentes se juntaron delante del rey, y le dijeron así: Rey Darío, para siempre vive:(E) Daniel 6:6 Puis ces chefs et ces satrapes se rendirent tumultueusement auprès du roi, et lui parlèrent ainsi: Roi Darius, vis éternellement!(F) Dan 6:6 Da kamen die Fürsten und Landvögte zuhauf vor den König und sprachen zu ihm also: Der König Darius lebe ewiglich!(D) Dan 6:6 καὶ εἶπαν δεῦτε στήσωμεν ὁρισμὸν καθ᾽ ἑαυτῶν ὅτι πᾶς ἄνθρωπος οὐκ ἀξιώσει ἀξίωμα καὶ οὐ μὴ εὔξηται εὐχὴν ἀπὸ παντὸς θεοῦ ἕως ἡμερῶν τριάκοντα ἀλλ᾽ ἢ παρὰ Δαρείου τοῦ βασιλέως εἰ δὲ μή ἀποθανεῖται ἵνα ἡττήσωσι τὸν Δανιηλ ἐναντίον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ῥιφῇ εἰς τὸν λάκκον τῶν λεόντων ᾔδεισαν γὰρ ὅτι Δανιηλ προσεύχεται καὶ δεῖται κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ τρὶς τῆς ἡμέρας(lxx) Dan 6:6 So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: "King Darius, live forever!(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:7 ============ Dan 6:7 All the commissioners of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the high officials and the governors have consulted together that the king should establish a statute and enforce an injunction that anyone who makes a petition to any god or man besides you, O king, for thirty days, shall be cast into the lions' den.(nasb) Dan 6:7 consilium inierunt omnes principes regni tui, magistratus, et satrapae, senatores, et judices, ut decretum imperatorium exeat, et edictum: ut omnis, qui petierit aliquam petitionem a quocumque deo et homine usque ad triginta dies, nisi a te, rex, mittatur in lacum leonum.(vulgate) Daniel 6:7 Todos los presidentes del reino, magistrados, gobernadores, grandes y capitanes, han acordado por consejo promulgar un real edicto, y confirmarlo, que cualquiera que demandare petición de cualquier dios u hombre en el espacio de treinta días, excepto de ti, oh rey, sea echado en el foso de los leones.(E) Daniel 6:7 Tous les chefs du royaume, les intendants, les satrapes, les conseillers, et les gouverneurs sont d'avis qu'il soit publié un édit royal, avec une défense sévère, portant que quiconque, dans l'espace de trente jours, adressera des prières à quelque dieu ou à quelque homme, excepté à toi, ô roi, sera jeté dans la fosse aux lions.(F) Dan 6:7 Es haben die Fürsten des Königreichs, die Herren, die Landvögte, die Räte und Hauptleute alle Gedacht, daß man einen königlichen Befehl soll ausgehen lassen und ein strenges Gebot stellen, daß, wer in dreißig Tagen etwas bitten wird von irgend einem Gott oder Menschen außer dir, König, allein, solle zu den Löwen in den Graben geworfen werden.(D) Dan 6:7 τότε προσήλθοσαν οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἐκεῖνοι καὶ εἶπαν ἐναντίον τοῦ βασιλέως(lxx) Dan 6:7 All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:8 ============ Dan 6:8 Now, O king, establish the injunction and sign the document so that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked."(nasb) Dan 6:8 Nunc itaque rex, confirma sententiam, et scribe decretum: ut non immutetur quod statutum est a Medis et Persis, nec praevaricari cuiquam liceat.(vulgate) Daniel 6:8 Ahora, oh rey, confirma el edicto, y firma la escritura, para que no pueda ser cambiada, conforme a la ley de Media y de Persia, la cual no puede ser revocada.(E) Daniel 6:8 Maintenant, ô roi, confirme la défense, et écris le décret, afin qu'il soit irrévocable, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui est immuable.(F) Dan 6:8 Darum, lieber König, sollst du solch Gebot bestätigen und dich unterschreiben, auf daß es nicht geändert werde, nach dem Rechte der Meder und Perser, welches niemand aufheben darf.(D) Dan 6:8 ὁρισμὸν καὶ στάσιν ἐστήσαμεν ὅτι πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἂν εὔξηται εὐχὴν ἢ ἀξιώσῃ ἀξίωμά τι παρὰ παντὸς θεοῦ ἕως ἡμερῶν τριάκοντα ἀλλ᾽ ἢ παρὰ Δαρείου τοῦ βασιλέως ῥιφήσεται εἰς τὸν λάκκον τῶν λεόντων(lxx) Dan 6:8 Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:9 ============ Dan 6:9 Therefore King Darius signed the document, that is, the injunction.(nasb) Dan 6:9 Porro rex Darius proposuit edictum, et statuit.(vulgate) Daniel 6:9 Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:10 ============ Dan 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.(nasb) Dan 6:10 Quod cum Daniel comperisset, id est, constitutam legem, ingressus est domum suam: et fenestris apertis in coenaculo suo contra Jerusalem tribus temporibus in die flectebat genua sua, et adorabat, confitebaturque coram Deo suo sicut et ante facere consueverat.(vulgate) Daniel 6:10 Y Daniel, cuando supo que la escritura estaba firmada, entró en su casa, y abiertas las ventanas de su cámara que estaban hacia Jerusalén, se hincaba de rodillas tres veces al día, y oraba, y daba gracias delante de su Dios, como lo solía hacer antes.(E) Daniel 6:10 Lorsque Daniel sut que le décret était écrit, il se retira dans sa maison, où les fenêtres de la chambre supérieure étaient ouvertes dans la direction de Jérusalem; et trois fois le jour il se mettait à genoux, il priait, et il louait son Dieu, comme il le faisait auparavant.(F) Dan 6:10 Als nun Dan el erfuhr, daß solch Gebot unterschrieben wäre, ging er hinein in sein Haus (er hatte aber an seinem Söller offene Fenster gegen Jerusalem); und er fiel des Tages dreimal auf seine Kniee, betete, lobte und dankte seinem Gott, wie er denn bisher zu tun pflegte.(D) Dan 6:10 καὶ οὕτως ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαρεῖος ἔστησε καὶ ἐκύρωσεν(lxx) Dan 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:11 ============ Dan 6:11 Then these men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.(nasb) Dan 6:11 Viri ergo illi curiosius inquirentes invenerunt Danielem orantem, et obsecrantem Deum suum.(vulgate) Daniel 6:11 Entonces se juntaron aquellos hombres, y hallaron a Daniel orando y suplicando delante de su Dios.(E) Daniel 6:11 Alors ces hommes entrèrent tumultueusement, et ils trouvèrent Daniel qui priait et invoquait son Dieu.(F) Dan 6:11 Da kamen diese Männer zuhauf und fanden Dan el beten und flehen vor seinem Gott.(D) Dan 6:11 ἐπιγνοὺς δὲ Δανιηλ τὸν ὁρισμόν ὃν ἔστησε κατ᾽ αὐτοῦ θυρίδας ἤνοιξεν ἐν τῷ ὑπερῴῳ αὐτοῦ κατέναντι Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἔπιπτεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ τρὶς τῆς ἡμέρας καθὼς ἐποίει ἔμπροσθεν καὶ ἐδεῖτο(lxx) Dan 6:11 Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:12 ============ Dan 6:12 Then they approached and spoke before the king about the king's injunction, "Did you not sign an injunction that any man who makes a petition to any god or man besides you, O king, for thirty days, is to be cast into the lions' den?" The king replied, "The statement is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked."(nasb) Dan 6:12 Et accedentes locuti sunt regi super edicto: Rex, numquid non constituisti ut omnis homo qui rogaret quemquam de diis et hominibus usque ad dies triginta, nisi te, rex, mitteretur in lacum leonum? Ad quos respondens rex, ait: Verus est sermo juxta decretum Medorum atque Persarum, quod praevaricari non licet.(vulgate) Daniel 6:12 Se llegaron luego, y hablaron delante del rey acerca del edicto real: ¿No has confirmado edicto que cualquiera que pidiere a cualquier dios u hombre en el espacio de treinta días, excepto a ti, oh rey, fuese echado en el foso de los leones? Respondió el rey y dijo: Verdad [es], conforme a la ley de Media y de Persia, la cual no se abroga.(E) Daniel 6:12 Puis ils se présentèrent devant le roi, et lui dirent au sujet de la défense royale: N'as-tu pas écrit une défense portant que quiconque dans l'espace de trente jours adresserait des prières à quelque dieu ou à quelque homme, excepté à toi, ô roi, serait jeté dans la fosse aux lions? Le roi répondit: La chose est certaine, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui est immuable.(F) Dan 6:12 Und traten hinzu und redeten mit dem König von dem königlichen Gebot: Herr König, hast du nicht ein Gebot unterschrieben, daß, wer in dreißig Tagen etwas bitten würde von irgend einem Gott oder Menschen außer dir, König, allein, solle zu den Löwen in den Graben geworfen werden? Der König antwortete und sprach: Es ist wahr, und das Recht der Meder und Perser soll niemand aufheben.(D) Dan 6:12 καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐτήρησαν τὸν Δανιηλ καὶ κατελάβοσαν αὐτὸν εὐχόμενον τρὶς τῆς ἡμέρας καθ᾽ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν(lxx) Dan 6:12 And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king's decree: "Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?" The king answered and said, "The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:13 ============ Dan 6:13 Then they answered and spoke before the king, "Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the injunction which you signed, but keeps making his petition three times a day."(nasb) Dan 6:13 Tunc respondentes dixerunt coram rege: Daniel de filiis captivitatis Juda, non curavit de lege tua, et de edicto quod constituisti: sed tribus temporibus per diem orat obsecratione sua.(vulgate) Daniel 6:13 Entonces respondieron y dijeron delante del rey: Ese Daniel, que es de los hijos de la cautividad de los judíos, no ha hecho cuenta de ti, oh rey, ni del edicto que confirmaste; antes tres veces al día hace su petición.(E) Daniel 6:13 Ils prirent de nouveau la parole et dirent au roi: Daniel, l'un des captifs de Juda, n'a tenu aucun compte de toi, ô roi, ni de la défense que tu as écrite, et il fait sa prière trois fois le jour.(F) Dan 6:13 Sie antworteten und sprachen vor dem König: Dan el, der Gefangenen aus Juda einer, der achtet weder dich noch dein Gebot, das du verzeichnet hast; denn er betet des Tages dreimal.(D) Dan 6:13 τότε οὗτοι οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἐνέτυχον τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ εἶπαν Δαρεῖε βασιλεῦ οὐχ ὁρισμὸν ὡρίσω ἵνα πᾶς ἄνθρωπος μὴ εὔξηται εὐχὴν μηδὲ ἀξιώσῃ ἀξίωμα παρὰ παντὸς θεοῦ ἕως ἡμερῶν τριάκοντα ἀλλὰ παρὰ σοῦ βασιλεῦ εἰ δὲ μή ῥιφήσεται εἰς τὸν λάκκον τῶν λεόντων ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἀκριβὴς ὁ λόγος καὶ μενεῖ ὁ ὁρισμός Dan 6:13 So they answered and said before the king, "That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:14 ============ Dan 6:14 Then, as soon as the king heard this statement, he was deeply distressed and set his mind on delivering Daniel; and even until sunset he kept exerting himself to rescue him.(nasb) Dan 6:14 Quod verbum cum audisset rex, satis contristatus est: et pro Daniele posuit cor ut liberaret eum, et usque ad occasum solis laborabat ut erueret illum.(vulgate) Daniel 6:14 Entonces el rey, al oír [estas] palabras, se disgustó mucho consigo mismo y dispuso su corazón para librar a Daniel, y trabajó hasta la puesta del sol para librarlo.(E) Daniel 6:14 Le roi fut très affligé quand il entendit cela; il prit à coeur de délivrer Daniel, et jusqu'au coucher du soleil il s'efforça de le sauver.(F) Dan 6:14 Da der König solches hörte, ward er sehr betrübt und tat großen Fleiß, daß er Dan el erlöste, und mühte sich bis die Sonne unterging, daß er ihn errettete.(D) Dan 6:14 καὶ εἶπαν ἰδοὺ εὕρομεν Δανιηλ τὸν φίλον σου εὐχόμενον καὶ δεόμενον τοῦ προσώπου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ τρὶς τῆς ἡμέρας(lxx) Dan 6:14 And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:15 ============ Dan 6:15 Then these men came by agreement to the king and said to the king, "Recognize, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no injunction or statute which the king establishes may be changed."(nasb) Dan 6:15 Viri autem illi, intelligentes regem, dixerunt ei: Scito, rex, quia lex Medorum atque Persarum est ut omne decretum, quod constituerit rex, non liceat immutari.(vulgate) Daniel 6:15 Pero aquellos hombres se reunieron cerca del rey, y dijeron al rey: Sepas, oh rey, que [es] ley de Media y de Persia, que ningún decreto u ordenanza que el rey confirmare puede ser cambiado.(E) Daniel 6:15 Mais ces hommes insistèrent auprès du roi, et lui dirent: Sache, ô roi, que la loi des Mèdes et des Perses exige que toute défense ou tout décret confirmé par le roi soit irrévocable.(F) Dan 6:15 Aber die Männer kamen zuhauf zu dem König und sprachen zu ihm: Du weißt, Herr König, daß der Meder und Perser Recht ist, daß alle Gebote und Befehle, so der König beschlossen hat, sollen unverändert bleiben.(D) Dan 6:15 καὶ λυπούμενος ὁ βασιλεὺς εἶπεν ῥιφῆναι τὸν Δανιηλ εἰς τὸν λάκκον τῶν λεόντων κατὰ τὸν ὁρισμόν ὃν ἔστησε κατ᾽ αὐτοῦ τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς σφόδρα ἐλυπήθη ἐπὶ τῷ Δανιηλ καὶ ἐβοήθει τοῦ ἐξελέσθαι αὐτὸν ἕως δυσμῶν ἡλίου ἀπὸ τῶν χειρῶν τῶν σατραπῶν(lxx) Dan 6:15 Then these men approached the king, and said to the king, "Know, O king, that it is the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:16 ============ Dan 6:16 Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions' den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you."(nasb) Dan 6:16 Tunc rex praecepit, et adduxerunt Danielem, et miserunt eum in lacum leonum. Dixitque rex Danieli: Deus tuus, quem colis semper, ipse liberabit te.(vulgate) Daniel 6:16 Entonces el rey mandó, y trajeron a Daniel, y [le] echaron en el foso de los leones. Y hablando el rey dijo a Daniel: El Dios tuyo, a quien tú continuamente sirves, Él te librará.(E) Daniel 6:16 Alors le roi donna l'ordre qu'on amenât Daniel, et qu'on le jetât dans la fosse aux lions. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel: Puisse ton Dieu, que tu sers avec persévérance, te délivrer!(F) Dan 6:16 Da befahl der König, daß man Dan el herbrächte; und sie warfen ihn zu den Löwen in den Graben. Der König aber sprach zu Dan el: Dein Gott, dem du ohne Unterlaß dienst, der helfe dir!(D) Dan 6:16 καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο ἐξελέσθαι αὐτὸν ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν(lxx) Dan 6:16 So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:17 ============ Dan 6:17 A stone was brought and laid over the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing would be changed in regard to Daniel.(nasb) Dan 6:17 Allatusque est lapis unus, et positus est super os laci: quem obsignavit rex annulo suo, et annulo optimatum suorum, ne quid fieret contra Danielem.(vulgate) Daniel 6:17 Y fue traída una piedra, y puesta sobre la puerta del foso, la cual selló el rey con su anillo, y con el anillo de sus príncipes, para que el acuerdo acerca de Daniel no se cambiase.(E) Daniel 6:17 On apporta une pierre, et on la mit sur l'ouverture de la fosse; le roi la scella de son anneau et de l'anneau de ses grands, afin que rien ne fût changé à l'égard de Daniel.(F) Dan 6:17 Und sie brachten einen Stein, den legten sie vor die Tür am Graben; den versiegelte der König mit seinem eigenen Ring und mit dem Ring der Gewaltigen, auf daß nichts anderes mit Dan el geschähe.(D) Dan 6:17 ἀναβοήσας δὲ Δαρεῖος ὁ βασιλεὺς εἶπε τῷ Δανιηλ ὁ θεός σου ᾧ σὺ λατρεύεις ἐνδελεχῶς τρὶς τῆς ἡμέρας αὐτὸς ἐξελεῖταί σε ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν λεόντων ἕως πρωὶ θάρρει(lxx) Dan 6:17 Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:18 ============ Dan 6:18 Then the king went off to his palace and spent the night fasting, and no entertainment was brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.(nasb) Dan 6:18 Et abiit rex in domum suam, et dormivit incoenatus, cibique non sunt allati coram eo, insuper et somnus recessit ab eo.(vulgate) Daniel 6:18 Se fue luego el rey a su palacio, y pasó la noche en ayuno; ni instrumentos de música fueron traídos delante de él, y se le fue el sueño.(E) Daniel 6:18 Le roi se rendit ensuite dans son palais; il passa la nuit à jeun, il ne fit point venir de concubine auprès de lui, et il ne put se livrer au sommeil.(F) Dan 6:18 Und der König ging weg in seine Burg und blieb ungegessen und ließ auch kein Essen vor sich bringen, konnte auch nicht schlafen.(D) Dan 6:18 τότε Δανιηλ ἐρρίφη εἰς τὸν λάκκον τῶν λεόντων καὶ ἠνέχθη λίθος καὶ ἐτέθη εἰς τὸ στόμα τοῦ λάκκου καὶ ἐσφραγίσατο ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν τῷ δακτυλίῳ ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἐν τοῖς δακτυλίοις τῶν μεγιστάνων αὐτοῦ ὅπως μὴ ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ἀρθῇ ὁ Δανιηλ ἢ ὁ βασιλεὺς αὐτὸν ἀνασπάσῃ ἐκ τοῦ λάκκου(lxx) Dan 6:18 Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:19 ============ Dan 6:19 Then the king arose at dawn, at the break of day, and went in haste to the lions' den.(nasb) Dan 6:19 Tunc rex primo diluculo consurgens, festinus ad lacum leonum perrexit:(vulgate) Daniel 6:19 Entonces el rey se levantó muy de mañana, y fue aprisa al foso de los leones:(E) Daniel 6:19 Le roi se leva au point du jour, avec l'aurore, et il alla précipitamment à la fosse aux lions.(F) Dan 6:19 Des Morgens früh, da der Tag anbrach, stand der König auf und ging eilend zum Graben, da die Löwen waren.(D) Dan 6:19 τότε ὑπέστρεψεν ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς τὰ βασίλεια αὐτοῦ καὶ ηὐλίσθη νῆστις καὶ ἦν λυπούμενος περὶ τοῦ Δανιηλ τότε ὁ θεὸς τοῦ Δανιηλ πρόνοιαν ποιούμενος αὐτοῦ ἀπέκλεισε τὰ στόματα τῶν λεόντων καὶ οὐ παρηνώχλησαν τῷ Δανιηλ(lxx) Dan 6:19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:20 ============ Dan 6:20 When he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?"(nasb) Dan 6:20 appropinquansque lacui, Danielem voce lacrimabili inclamavit, et affatus est eum: Daniel serve Dei viventis, Deus tuus, cui tu servis semper, putasne valuit te liberare a leonibus?(vulgate) Daniel 6:20 y llegándose cerca del foso llamó a voces a Daniel con voz triste. [Y] el rey habló a Daniel y le dijo: Daniel, siervo del Dios viviente, el Dios tuyo, a quien tú continuamente sirves ¿te ha podido librar de los leones?(E) Daniel 6:20 En s'approchant de la fosse, il appela Daniel d'une voix triste. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel: Daniel, serviteur du Dieu vivant, ton Dieu, que tu sers avec persévérance, a-t-il pu te délivrer des lions?(F) Dan 6:20 Und als er zum Graben kam rief er Dan el mit kläglicher Stimme. Und der König sprach zu Dan el: Dan el, du Knecht des lebendigen Gottes, hat dich auch dein Gott, dem du ohne Unterlaß dienst, können vor den Löwen erlösen?(D) Dan 6:20 καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαρεῖος ὤρθρισε πρωὶ καὶ παρέλαβε μεθ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ τοὺς σατράπας καὶ πορευθεὶς ἔστη ἐπὶ τοῦ στόματος τοῦ λάκκου τῶν λεόντων(lxx) Dan 6:20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?"(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:21 ============ Dan 6:21 Then Daniel spoke to the king. "O king, live forever!(nasb) Dan 6:21 Et Daniel regi respondens ait: Rex, in aeternum vive!(vulgate) Daniel 6:21 Entonces habló Daniel con el rey: Oh rey, para siempre vive.(E) Daniel 6:21 Et Daniel dit au roi: Roi, vis éternellement?(F) Dan 6:21 Dan el aber redete mit dem König: Der König lebe ewiglich!(D) Dan 6:21 τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκάλεσε τὸν Δανιηλ φωνῇ μεγάλῃ μετὰ κλαυθμοῦ λέγων ὦ Δανιηλ εἰ ἄρα ζῇς καὶ ὁ θεός σου ᾧ λατρεύεις ἐνδελεχῶς σέσωκέ σε ἀπὸ τῶν λεόντων καὶ οὐκ ἠχρείωκάν σε(lxx) Dan 6:21 Then Daniel said to the king, "O king, live forever!(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:22 ============ Dan 6:22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime."(nasb) Dan 6:22 Deus meus misit angelum suum, et conclusit ora leonum, et non nocuerunt mihi: quia coram eo justitia inventa est in me: sed et coram te, rex, delictum non feci.(vulgate) Daniel 6:22 El Dios mío envió su ángel, el cual cerró la boca de los leones, para que no me hiciesen mal: porque delante de Él fui hallado inocente; y aun delante de ti, oh rey, yo no he hecho ningún mal.(E) Daniel 6:22 Mon Dieu a envoyé son ange et fermé la gueule des lions, qui ne m'ont fait aucun mal, parce que j'ai été trouvé innocent devant lui; et devant toi non plus, ô roi, je n'ai rien fait de mauvais.(F) Dan 6:22 Mein Gott hat seinen Engel gesandt, der den Löwen den Rachen zugehalten hat, daß sie mir kein Leid getan haben; denn vor ihm bin ich unschuldig erfunden; so habe ich auch wider dich, Herr König, nichts getan.(D) Dan 6:22 τότε Δανιηλ ἐπήκουσε φωνῇ μεγάλῃ καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεῦ ἔτι εἰμὶ ζῶν(lxx) Dan 6:22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:23 ============ Dan 6:23 Then the king was very pleased and gave orders for Daniel to be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no injury whatever was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.(nasb) Dan 6:23 Tunc vehementer rex gavisus est super eo, et Danielem praecepit educi de lacu: eductusque est Daniel de lacu, et nulla laesio inventa est in eo, quia credidit Deo suo.(vulgate) Daniel 6:23 Entonces se alegró el rey en gran manera a causa de él, y mandó sacar a Daniel del foso. Y Daniel fue sacado del foso, y ninguna lesión se halló en él, porque creyó en su Dios.(E) Daniel 6:23 Alors le roi fut très joyeux, et il ordonna qu'on fît sortir Daniel de la fosse. Daniel fut retiré de la fosse, et on ne trouva sur lui aucune blessure, parce qu'il avait eu confiance en son Dieu.(F) Dan 6:23 Da ward der König sehr froh und hieß Dan el aus dem Graben ziehen. Und sie zogen Dan el aus dem Graben, und man spürte keinen Schaden an ihm; denn er hatte seinem Gott vertraut.(D) Dan 6:23 καὶ σέσωκέ με ὁ θεὸς ἀπὸ τῶν λεόντων καθότι δικαιοσύνη ἐν ἐμοὶ εὑρέθη ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐναντίον δὲ σοῦ βασιλεῦ οὔτε ἄγνοια οὔτε ἁμαρτία εὑρέθη ἐν ἐμοί σὺ δὲ ἤκουσας ἀνθρώπων πλανώντων βασιλεῖς καὶ ἔρριψάς με εἰς τὸν λάκκον τῶν λεόντων εἰς ἀπώλειαν(lxx) Dan 6:23 Then the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:24 ============ Dan 6:24 The king then gave orders, and they brought those men who had maliciously accused Daniel, and they cast them, their children and their wives into the lions' den; and they had not reached the bottom of the den before the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.(nasb) Dan 6:24 Jubente autem rege, adducti sunt viri illi, qui accusaverant Danielem: et in lacum leonum missi sunt, ipsi, et filii, et uxores eorum: et non pervenerunt usque ad pavimentum laci, donec arriperent eos leones, et omnia ossa eorum comminuerunt.(vulgate) Daniel 6:24 Y el rey ordenó que fueran traídos aquellos hombres que habían acusado a Daniel, y fueron echados en el foso de los leones, ellos, sus hijos y sus esposas; y aún no habían llegado al suelo del foso, cuando los leones se apoderaron de ellos y quebraron todos sus huesos.(E) Daniel 6:24 Le roi ordonna que ces hommes qui avaient accusé Daniel fussent amenés et jetés dans la fosse aux lions, eux, leurs enfants et leurs femmes; et avant qu'ils fussent parvenus au fond de la fosse, les lions les saisirent et brisèrent tous leurs os.(F) Dan 6:24 Da hieß er die Männer, so Dan el verklagt hatten, herbringen und zu den Löwen in den Graben werfen samt ihren Weibern und Kindern. Und ehe sie auf den Boden hinabkamen, ergriffen sie die Löwen und zermalmten alle ihre Gebeine.(D) Dan 6:24 τότε συνήχθησαν πᾶσαι αἱ δυνάμεις καὶ εἶδον τὸν Δανιηλ ὡς οὐ παρηνώχλησαν αὐτῷ οἱ λέοντες(lxx) Dan 6:24 And the king gave the command, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions--them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:25 ============ Dan 6:25 Then Darius the king wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language who were living in all the land: "May your peace abound!(nasb) Dan 6:25 Tunc Darius rex scripsit universis populis, tribubus, et linguis habitantibus in universa terra: Pax vobis multiplicetur.(vulgate) Daniel 6:25 Entonces el rey Darío escribió a todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, que habitan en toda la tierra: Paz os sea multiplicada:(E) Daniel 6:25 Après cela, le roi Darius écrivit à tous les peuples, à toutes les nations, aux hommes de toutes langues, qui habitaient sur toute la terre: Que la paix vous soit donnée avec abondance!(F) Dan 6:25 Da ließ der König Darius schreiben allen Völkern, Leuten und Zungen auf der ganzen Erde: "Viel Friede zuvor!(D) Dan 6:25 τότε οἱ δύο ἄνθρωποι ἐκεῖνοι οἱ καταμαρτυρήσαντες τοῦ Δανιηλ αὐτοὶ καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν ἐρρίφησαν τοῖς λέουσι καὶ οἱ λέοντες ἀπέκτειναν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔθλασαν τὰ ὀστᾶ αὐτῶν(lxx) Dan 6:25 Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:26 ============ Dan 6:26 I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel; For He is the living God and enduring forever, And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, And His dominion will be forever.(nasb) Dan 6:26 A me constitutum est decretum, ut in universo imperio et regno meo, tremiscant et paveant Deum Danielis: ipse est enim Deus vivens, et aeternus in saecula, et regnum ejus non dissipabitur, et potestas ejus usque in aeternum.(vulgate) Daniel 6:26 De parte mía es puesta ordenanza, que en todo el señorío de mi reino todos teman y tiemblen ante la presencia del Dios de Daniel; porque Él [es] el Dios viviente y permanece por la eternidad, y su reino no será destruido, y su señorío [permanecerá] hasta el fin.(E) Daniel 6:26 J'ordonne que, dans toute l'étendue de mon royaume, on ait de la crainte et de la frayeur pour le Dieu de Daniel. Car il est le Dieu vivant, et il subsiste éternellement; son royaume ne sera jamais détruit, et sa domination durera jusqu'à la fin.(F) Dan 6:26 Das ist mein Befehl, daß man in der ganzen Herrschaft meines Königreiches den Gott Dan els fürchten und scheuen soll. Denn er ist der lebendige Gott, der ewiglich bleibt, und sein Königreich ist unvergänglich, und seine Herrschaft hat kein Ende.(D) Dan 6:26 τότε Δαρεῖος ἔγραψε πᾶσι τοῖς ἔθνεσι καὶ χώραις καὶ γλώσσαις τοῖς οἰκοῦσιν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ αὐτοῦ λέγων(lxx) Dan 6:26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 6:27 ============ Dan 6:27 "He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has also delivered Daniel from the power of the lions."(nasb) Dan 6:27 Ipse liberator atque salvator, faciens signa et mirabilia in caelo et in terra: qui liberavit Danielem de lacu leonum.(vulgate) Daniel 6:27 Que salva y libra, y hace señales y maravillas en el cielo y en la tierra; el cual libró a Daniel del poder de los leones.(E) Daniel 6:27 C'est lui qui délivre et qui sauve, qui opère des signes et des prodiges dans les cieux et sur la terre. C'est lui qui a délivré Daniel de la puissance des lions.(F) Dan 6:27 Er ist ein Erlöser und Nothelfer, und er tut Zeichen und Wunder im Himmel und auf Erden.
