Today's Date: ======= 2 Chronicles 21:1 ============ 2Ch 21:1 Then Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son became king in his place.(nas) 2Ch 21:1 καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιωσαφατ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη παρὰ τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωραμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 21:1 Dormivit autem Josaphat cum patribus suis, et sepultus est cum eis in civitate David: regnavitque Joram filius ejus pro eo.(vulgate) 1 ׃21 וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵ֥ר עִם־אֲבֹתָ֖יו בְּעִ֣יר דָּוִ֑יד וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ יְהוֹרָ֥ם בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:1 Und Josaphat entschlief mit seinen Vätern und ward begraben bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids. Und sein Sohn Joram ward König an seiner Statt.(dhs) 2Ch 21:1 And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David. Then Jehoram his son reigned in his place.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:2 ============ 2Ch 21:2 He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azaryahu, Michael and Shephatiah. All these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.(nas) 2Ch 21:2 καὶ αὐτῷ ἀδελφοὶ υἱοὶ Ιωσαφατ ἕξ Αζαριας καὶ Ιιηλ καὶ Ζαχαριας καὶ Αζαριας καὶ Μιχαηλ καὶ Σαφατιας πάντες οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ιωσαφατ βασιλέως Ιουδα (lxx) 2Ch 21:2 Qui habuit fratres filios Josaphat, Azariam, et Jahiel, et Zachariam, et Azariam, et Michaël, et Saphatiam: omnes hi filii Josaphat regis Juda.(vulgate) 2 ׃21 וְלֽוֹ־אַחִ֞ים בְּנֵ֣י יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט עֲזַרְיָ֤ה וִֽיחִיאֵל֙ וּזְכַרְיָ֣הוּ וַעֲזַרְיָ֔הוּ וּמִיכָאֵ֖ל וּשְׁפַטְיָ֑הוּ כָּל־אֵ֕לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט מֶ֥לֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:2 Und er hatte Brüder, Josaphats Söhne: Asarja, Jehiel, Sacharja, Asarja, Michael und Sephatja; diese alle waren Kinder Josaphats, des Königs in Juda.(dhs) 2Ch 21:2 He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azaryahu, Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:3 ============ 2Ch 21:3 Their father gave them many gifts of silver, gold and precious things, with fortified cities in Judah, but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.(nas) 2Ch 21:3 καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ὁ πατὴρ αὐτῶν δόματα πολλά ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον καὶ ὅπλα μετὰ πόλεων τετειχισμένων ἐν Ιουδα καὶ τὴν βασιλείαν ἔδωκεν τῷ Ιωραμ ὅτι οὗτος ὁ πρωτότοκος (lxx) 2Ch 21:3 Deditque eis pater suus multa munera argenti et auri, et pensitationes, cum civitatibus munitissimis in Juda: regnum autem tradidit Joram, eo quod esset primogenitus.(vulgate) 3 ׃21 וַיִּתֵּ֣ן לָהֶ֣ם ׀ אֲ֠בִיהֶם מַתָּנ֨וֹת רַבּ֜וֹת לְכֶ֤סֶף וּלְזָהָב֙ וּלְמִגְדָּנ֔וֹת עִם־עָרֵ֥י מְצֻר֖וֹת בִּֽיהוּדָ֑ה וְאֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָ֛ה נָתַ֥ן לִֽיהוֹרָ֖ם כִּי־ה֥וּא הַבְּכֽוֹר׃ פ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:3 Und ihr Vater gab ihnen viel Gaben von Silber, Gold und Kleinoden, mit festen Städten in Juda; aber das Königreich gab er Joram, denn er war der Erstgeborene.(dhs) 2Ch 21:3 Their father gave them great gifts of silver and gold and precious things, with fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:4 ============ 2Ch 21:4 Now when Jehoram had taken over the kingdom of his father and made himself secure, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and some of the rulers of Israel also.(nas) 2Ch 21:4 καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωραμ ἐπὶ τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκραταιώθη καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν πάντας τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀρχόντων Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Ch 21:4 Surrexit ergo Joram super regnum patris sui: cumque se confirmasset, occidit omnes fratres suos gladio, et quosdam de principibus Israël.(vulgate) 4 ׃21 וַיָּ֨קָם יְהוֹרָ֜ם עַל־מַמְלֶ֤כַת אָבִיו֙ וַיִּתְחַזַּ֔ק וַיַּהֲרֹ֥ג אֶת־כָּל־אֶחָ֖יו בֶּחָ֑רֶב וְגַ֖ם מִשָּׂרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:4 Da aber Joram aufkam über das Königreich seines Vaters und mächtig ward, erwürgte er seine Brüder alle mit dem Schwert, dazu auch etliche Oberste in Israel.(dhs) 2Ch 21:4 Now when Jehoram was established over the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself and killed all his brothers with the sword, and also others of the princes of Israel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:5 ============ 2Ch 21:5 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.(nas) 2Ch 21:5 ὄντος αὐτοῦ τριάκοντα καὶ δύο ἐτῶν κατέστη Ιωραμ ἐπὶ τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ καὶ ὀκτὼ ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Ch 21:5 Triginta duorum annorum erat Joram cum regnare cœpisset, et octo annis regnavit in Jerusalem.(vulgate) 5 ׃21 בֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וּשְׁתַּ֛יִם שָׁנָ֖ה יְהוֹרָ֣ם בְּמָלְכ֑וֹ וּשְׁמוֹנֶ֣ה שָׁנִ֔ים מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:5 Zweiunddreißig Jahre alt war Joram, da er König ward, und regierte acht Jahre zu Jerusalem(dhs) 2Ch 21:5 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:6 ============ 2Ch 21:6 He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab did (for Ahab's daughter was his wife), and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.(nas) 2Ch 21:6 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν ὁδῷ βασιλέων Ισραηλ ὡς ἐποίησεν οἶκος Αχααβ ὅτι θυγάτηρ Αχααβ ἦν αὐτοῦ γυνή καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου (lxx) 2Ch 21:6 Ambulavitque in viis regum Israël, sicut egerat domus Achab: filia quippe Achab erat uxor ejus: et fecit malum in conspectu Domini.(vulgate) 6 ׃21 וַיֵּ֜לֶךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ ׀ מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשׂוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית אַחְאָ֔ב כִּ֚י בַּת־אַחְאָ֔ב הָ֥יְתָה לּ֖וֹ אִשָּׁ֑ה וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:6 und wandelte in dem Wege der Könige Israels, wie das Haus Ahab getan hatte; denn Ahabs Tochter war sein Weib. Und er tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel;(dhs) 2Ch 21:6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for he had the daughter of Ahab as a wife; and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:7 ============ 2Ch 21:7 Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David because of the covenant which He had made with David, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.(nas) 2Ch 21:7 καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο κύριος ἐξολεθρεῦσαι τὸν οἶκον Δαυιδ διὰ τὴν διαθήκην ἣν διέθετο τῷ Δαυιδ καὶ ὡς εἶπεν αὐτῷ δοῦναι αὐτῷ λύχνον καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας (lxx) 2Ch 21:7 Noluit autem Dominus disperdere domum David propter pactum quod inierat cum eo: et quia promiserat ut daret ei lucernam, et filiis ejus omni tempore.(vulgate) 7 ׃21 וְלֹא־אָבָ֣ה יְהוָ֗ה לְהַשְׁחִית֙ אֶת־בֵּ֣ית דָּוִ֔יד לְמַ֣עַן הַבְּרִ֔ית אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖ת לְדָוִ֑יד וְכַאֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמַ֗ר לָתֵ֨ת ל֥וֹ נִ֛יר וּלְבָנָ֖יו כָּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:7 aber der HERR wollte das Haus David nicht verderben um des Bundes willen, den er mit David gemacht hatte, und wie er verheißen hatte, ihm eine Leuchte zu geben und seinen Kindern immerdar.(dhs) 2Ch 21:7 Yet the Lord would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that He had made with David, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:8 ============ 2Ch 21:8 In his days Edom revolted against the rule of Judah and set up a king over themselves.(nas) 2Ch 21:8 ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἀπέστη Εδωμ ἀπὸ τοῦ Ιουδα καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν ἐφ᾽ ἑαυτοὺς βασιλέα (lxx) 2Ch 21:8 In diebus illis rebellavit Edom, ne esset subditus Judæ, et constituit sibi regem.(vulgate) 8 ׃21 בְּיָמָיו֙ פָּשַׁ֣ע אֱד֔וֹם מִתַּ֖חַת יַד־יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּ עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מֶֽלֶךְ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:8 Zu seiner Zeit fielen die Edomiter ab von Juda und machten über sich einen König.(dhs) 2Ch 21:8 In his days the Edomites revolted against Judah's authority, and made a king over themselves.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:9 ============ 2Ch 21:9 Then Jehoram crossed over with his commanders and all his chariots with him. And he arose by night and struck down the Edomites who were surrounding him and the commanders of the chariots.(nas) 2Ch 21:9 καὶ ᾤχετο Ιωραμ μετὰ τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ πᾶσα ἡ ἵππος μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγένετο καὶ ἠγέρθη νυκτὸς καὶ ἐπάταξεν Εδωμ τὸν κυκλοῦντα αὐτὸν καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας τῶν ἁρμάτων καὶ ἔφυγεν ὁ λαὸς εἰς τὰ σκηνώματα αὐτῶν (lxx) 2Ch 21:9 Cumque transisset Joram cum principibus suis, et cuncto equitatu qui erat secum, surrexit nocte, et percussit Edom, qui se circumdederat, et omnes duces equitatus ejus.(vulgate) 9 ׃21 וַיַּֽעֲבֹ֤ר יְהוֹרָם֙ עִם־שָׂרָ֔יו וְכָל־הָרֶ֖כֶב עִמּ֑וֹ וַיְהִי֙ קָ֣ם לַ֔יְלָה וַיַּ֗ךְ אֶת־אֱדוֹם֙ הַסּוֹבֵ֣ב אֵלָ֔יו וְאֵ֖ת שָׂרֵ֥י הָרָֽכֶב׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:9 Da zog Joram hinüber mit seinen Obersten und alle Wagen mit ihm und machte sich des Nachts auf und schlug die Edomiter um ihn her und die Obersten der Wagen.(dhs) 2Ch 21:9 So Jehoram went out with his officers, and all his chariots with him. And he rose by night and attacked the Edomites who had surrounded him and the captains of the chariots.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:10 ============ 2Ch 21:10 So Edom revolted against Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time against his rule, because he had forsaken the Lord God of his fathers.(nas) 2Ch 21:10 καὶ ἀπέστη ἀπὸ Ιουδα Εδωμ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης τότε ἀπέστη Λομνα ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀπὸ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἐγκατέλιπεν κύριον θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 21:10 Attamen rebellavit Edom, ne esset sub ditione Juda usque ad hanc diem: eo tempore et Lobna recessit ne esset sub manu illius. Dereliquerat enim Dominum Deum patrum suorum:(vulgate) 10 ׃21 וַיִּפְשַׁ֨ע אֱד֜וֹם מִתַּ֣חַת יַד־יְהוּדָ֗ה עַ֚ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה אָ֣ז תִּפְשַׁ֥ע לִבְנָ֛ה בָּעֵ֥ת הַהִ֖יא מִתַּ֣חַת יָד֑וֹ כִּ֣י עָזַ֔ב אֶת־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבֹתָֽיו׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:10 Doch blieben die Edomiter abtrünnig von Juda bis auf diesen Tag. Zur selben Zeit fiel Libna auch von ihm ab; denn er verließ den HERRN, seiner Väter Gott.(dhs) 2Ch 21:10 Thus Edom has been in revolt against Judah's authority to this day. mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot and led Judah astray.(nas) 2Ch 21:11 καὶ γὰρ αὐτὸς ἐποίησεν ὑψηλὰ ἐν πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσεν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἀπεπλάνησεν τὸν Ιουδαν (lxx) 2Ch 21:11 insuper et excelsa fabricatus est in urbibus Juda, et fornicari fecit habitatores Jerusalem, et prævaricari Judam.~(vulgate) 11 ׃21 גַּם־ה֥וּא עָשָֽׂה־בָמ֖וֹת בְּהָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיֶּ֙זֶן֙ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַיַּדַּ֖ח אֶת־יְהוּדָֽה׃ פ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:11 Auch machte er Höhen auf den Bergen in Juda und machte die zu Jerusalem abgöttisch und verführte Juda.(dhs) 2Ch 21:11 Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit harlotry, and led Judah astray.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:12 ============ 2Ch 21:12 Then a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet saying, "Thus says the Lord God of your father David, 'Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father and the ways of Asa king of Judah,(nas) 2Ch 21:12 καὶ ἦλθεν αὐτῷ ἐγγραφὴ παρὰ Ηλιου τοῦ προφήτου λέγων τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρός σου ἀνθ᾽ ὧν οὐκ ἐπορεύθης ἐν ὁδῷ Ιωσαφατ τοῦ πατρός σου καὶ ἐν ὁδοῖς Ασα βασιλέως Ιουδα (lxx) 2Ch 21:12 Allatæ sunt autem ei litteræ ab Elia propheta, in quibus scriptum erat: Hæc dicit Dominus Deus David patris tui: Quoniam non ambulasti in viis Josaphat patris tui, et in viis Asa regis Juda,(vulgate) 12 ׃21 וַיָּבֹ֤א אֵלָיו֙ מִכְתָּ֔ב מֵֽאֵלִיָּ֥הוּ הַנָּבִ֖יא לֵאמֹ֑ר כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אֱלֹהֵי֙ דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֔יךָ תַּ֗חַת אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־הָלַ֙כְתָּ֙ בְּדַרְכֵי֙ יְהוֹשָׁפָ֣ט אָבִ֔יךָ וּבְדַרְכֵ֖י אָסָ֥א מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:12 Es kam aber Schrift zu ihm von dem Propheten Elia, die lautete also: So spricht der HERR, der Gott deines Vaters David: Darum daß du nicht gewandelt hast in den Wegen deines Vaters Josaphat noch in den Wegen Asas, des Königs in Juda,(dhs) 2Ch 21:12 And a letter came to him from Chronicles 21:13 ============ 2Ch 21:13 but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot as the house of Ahab played the harlot, and you have also killed your brothers, your own family, who were better than you,(nas) 2Ch 21:13 καὶ ἐπορεύθης ἐν ὁδοῖς βασιλέων Ισραηλ καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσας τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ὡς ἐξεπόρνευσεν οἶκος Αχααβ καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου υἱοὺς τοῦ πατρός σου τοὺς ἀγαθοὺς ὑπὲρ σὲ ἀπέκτεινας (lxx) 2Ch 21:13 sed incessisti per iter regum Israël, et fornicari fecisti Judam et habitatores Jerusalem, imitatus fornicationem domus Achab, insuper et fratres tuos, domum patris tui, meliores te, occidisti:(vulgate) 13 ׃21 וַתֵּ֗לֶךְ בְּדֶ֙רֶךְ֙ מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַתַּזְנֶ֤ה אֶת־יְהוּדָה֙ וְאֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם כְּהַזְנ֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית אַחְאָ֑ב וְגַ֨ם אֶת־אַחֶ֧יךָ בֵית־אָבִ֛יךָ הַטּוֹבִ֥ים מִמְּךָ֖ הָרָֽגְתָּ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:13 sondern wandelst in dem Wege der Könige Israels und machst Juda und die zu Jerusalem abgöttisch nach der Abgötterei des Hauses Ahab, und hast dazu deine Brüder, deines Vaters Haus, erwürgt, die besser waren als du:(dhs) 2Ch 21:13 but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot like the harlotry of the house of Ahab, and also have killed your brothers, those of your father's household, who were better than yourself,(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:14 ============ 2Ch 21:14 behold, the Lord is going to strike your people, your sons, your wives and all your possessions with a great calamity;(nas) 2Ch 21:14 ἰδοὺ κύριος πατάξει σε πληγὴν μεγάλην ἐν τῷ λαῷ σου καὶ ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς σου καὶ ἐν γυναιξίν σου καὶ ἐν πάσῃ τῇ ἀποσκευῇ σου (lxx) 2Ch 21:14 ecce Dominus percutiet te plaga magna cum populo tuo, et filiis, et uxoribus tuis, universaque substantia tua.(vulgate) 14 ׃21 הִנֵּ֣ה יְהוָ֗ה נֹגֵ֛ף מַגֵּפָ֥ה גְדוֹלָ֖ה בְּעַמֶּ֑ךָ וּבְבָנֶ֥יךָ וּבְנָשֶׁ֖יךָ וּבְכָל־רְכוּשֶֽׁךָ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:14 siehe, so wird dich der HERR mit einer großen Plage schlagen an deinem Volk, an deinen Kindern, an deinen Weibern und an aller deiner Habe;(dhs) 2Ch 21:14 behold, the Lord will strike your people with a serious affliction--your children, your wives, and all your possessions;(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:15 ============ 2Ch 21:15 and you will suffer severe sickness, a disease of your bowels, until your bowels come out because of the sickness, day by day.'"(nas) 2Ch 21:15 καὶ σὺ ἐν μαλακίᾳ πονηρᾷ ἐν νόσῳ κοιλίας ἕως οὗ ἐξέλθῃ ἡ κοιλία σου μετὰ τῆς μαλακίας ἐξ ἡμερῶν εἰς ἡμέρας (lxx) 2Ch 21:15 Tu autem ægrotabis pessimo languore uteri tui, donec egrediantur vitalia tua paulatim per singulos dies.(vulgate) 15 ׃21 וְאַתָּ֛ה בָּחֳלָיִ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים בְּמַחֲלֵ֣ה מֵעֶ֑יךָ עַד־יֵצְא֤וּ מֵעֶ֙יךָ֙ מִן־הַחֹ֔לִי יָמִ֖ים עַל־יָמִֽים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:15 du aber wirst viel Krankheit haben in deinem Eingeweide, bis daß dein Eingeweide vor Krankheit herausgehe in Jahr und Tag.(dhs) 2Ch 21:15 and you will become very sick with a disease of your intestines, until your intestines come out by reason of the sickness, day by day.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:16 ============ 2Ch 21:16 Then the Lord stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and the Arabs who bordered the Ethiopians;(nas) 2Ch 21:16 καὶ ἐπήγειρεν κύριος ἐπὶ Ιωραμ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ τοὺς Ἄραβας καὶ τοὺς ὁμόρους τῶν Αἰθιόπων (lxx) 2Ch 21:16 Suscitavit ergo Dominus contra Joram spiritum Philisthinorum, et Arabum qui confines sunt Æthiopibus:(vulgate) 16 ׃21 וַיָּ֨עַר יְהוָ֜ה עַל־יְהוֹרָ֗ם אֵ֣ת ר֤וּחַ הַפְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ וְהָ֣עַרְבִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־יַ֥ד כּוּשִֽׁים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:16 Also erweckte der HERR wider Joram den Geist der Philister und Araber, die neben den Mohren wohnen;(dhs) 2Ch 21:16 Moreover the Lord stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and the Arabians who were near the Ethiopians.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:17 ============ 2Ch 21:17 and they came against Judah and invaded it, and carried away all the possessions found in the king's house together with his sons and his wives, so that no son was left to him except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.(nas) 2Ch 21:17 καὶ ἀνέβησαν ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ κατεδυνάστευον καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν πᾶσαν τὴν ἀποσκευήν ἣν εὗρον ἐν οἴκῳ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ κατελείφθη αὐτῷ υἱὸς ἀλλ᾽ ἢ Οχοζιας ὁ μικρότατος τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 21:17 et ascenderunt in terram Juda, et vastaverunt eam, diripueruntque cunctam substantiam quæ inventa est in domo regis, insuper et filios ejus, et uxores: nec remansit ei filius, nisi Joachaz, qui minimus natu erat.(vulgate) 17 ׃21 וַיַּעֲל֤וּ בִֽיהוּדָה֙ וַיִּבְקָע֔וּהָ וַיִּשְׁבּ֗וּ אֵ֤ת כָּל־הָרְכוּשׁ֙ הַנִּמְצָ֣א לְבֵית־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְגַם־בָּנָ֖יו וְנָשָׁ֑יו וְלֹ֤א נִשְׁאַר־לוֹ֙ בֵּ֔ן כִּ֥י אִם־יְהוֹאָחָ֖ז קְטֹ֥ן בָּנָֽיו׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:17 und sie zogen herauf und brachen ein in Juda und führten weg alle Habe, die vorhanden war im Hause des Königs, dazu seine Söhne und seine Weiber, daß ihm kein Sohn übrigblieb, außer Joahas, sein jüngster Sohn.(dhs) 2Ch 21:17 And they came ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν κύριος εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν μαλακίᾳ ἐν ᾗ οὐκ ἔστιν ἰατρεία (lxx) 2Ch 21:18 Et super hæc omnia percussit eum Dominus alvi languore insanabili.(vulgate) 18 ׃21 וְאַחֲרֵ֖י כָּל־זֹ֑את נְגָפ֨וֹ יְהוָ֧ה ׀ בְּמֵעָ֛יו לָחֳלִ֖י לְאֵ֥ין מַרְפֵּֽא׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:18 Und nach alledem plagte ihn der HERR in seinem Eingeweide mit solcher Krankheit, die nicht zu heilen war.(dhs) 2Ch 21:18 After all this the Lord struck him in his intestines with an incurable disease.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:19 ============ 2Ch 21:19 Now it came about in the course of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels came out because of his sickness and he died in great pain. And his people made no fire for him like the fire for his fathers.(nas) 2Ch 21:19 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐξ ἡμερῶν εἰς ἡμέρας καὶ ὡς ἦλθεν καιρὸς τῶν ἡμερῶν ἡμέρας δύο ἐξῆλθεν ἡ κοιλία αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῆς νόσου καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐν μαλακίᾳ πονηρᾷ καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησεν ὁ λαὸς αὐτοῦ ἐκφορὰν καθὼς ἐκφορὰν πατέρων αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 21:19 Cumque diei succederet dies, et temporum spatia volverentur, duorum annorum expletus est circulus: et sic longa consumptus tabe, ita ut egereret etiam viscera sua, languore pariter, et vita caruit. Mortuusque est in infirmitate pessima, et non fecit ei populus secundum morem combustionis exequias, sicut fecerat majoribus ejus.(vulgate) 19 ׃21 וַיְהִ֣י לְיָמִ֣ים ׀ מִיָּמִ֡ים וּכְעֵת֩ צֵ֨את הַקֵּ֜ץ לְיָמִ֣ים שְׁנַ֗יִם יָצְא֤וּ מֵעָיו֙ עִם־חָלְי֔וֹ וַיָּ֖מָת בְּתַחֲלֻאִ֣ים רָעִ֑ים וְלֹא־עָ֨שׂוּ ל֥וֹ עַמּ֛וֹ שְׂרֵפָ֖ה כִּשְׂרֵפַ֥ת אֲבֹתָֽיו׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:19 Und das währte von Tag zu Tag, als die Zeit zweier Jahre um war, ging sein Eingeweide von ihm in seiner Krankheit, und er starb in schlimmen Schmerzen. Und sie machten ihm keinen Brand, wie sie seinen Vätern getan hatten.(dhs) 2Ch 21:19 Then it happened in the course of time, after the end of two years, that his intestines came out because of his sickness; so he died in severe pain. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning for his fathers.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 21:20 ============ 2Ch 21:20 He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years; and he departed with no one's regret, and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.(nas) 2Ch 21:20 ἦν τριάκοντα καὶ δύο ἐτῶν ὅτε ἐβασίλευσεν καὶ ὀκτὼ ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν οὐκ ἐπαίνῳ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ οὐκ ἐν τάφοις τῶν βασιλέων (lxx) 2Ch 21:20 Triginta duorum annorum fuit cum regnare cœpisset, et octo annis regnavit in Jerusalem. Ambulavitque non recte, et sepelierunt eum in civitate David, verumtamen non in sepulchro regum.(vulgate) 20 ׃21 בֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וּשְׁתַּ֙יִם֙ הָיָ֣ה בְמָלְכ֔וֹ וּשְׁמוֹנֶ֣ה שָׁנִ֔ים מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ בְּלֹ֣א חֶמְדָּ֔ה וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֙הוּ֙ בְּעִ֣יר דָּוִ֔יד וְלֹ֖א בְּקִבְר֥וֹת הַמְּלָכִֽים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 21:20 Zweiunddreißig Jahre alt war er, da er König ward, und regierte acht Jahre zu Jerusalem und wandelte, daß es nicht fein war. Und sie begruben ihn in der Stadt Davids, aber nicht in der Könige Gräbern.(dhs) 2Ch 21:20 He was thirty-two years old when he became king.
