Today's Date: ======= 2 Chronicles 20:1 ============ 2Ch 20:1 Now it came about after this that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, together with some of the Meunites, came to make war against Jehoshaphat.(nas) 2Ch 20:1 καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἦλθον οἱ υἱοὶ Μωαβ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐκ τῶν Μιναίων πρὸς Ιωσαφατ εἰς πόλεμον (lxx) 2Ch 20:1 Post hæc congregati sunt filii Moab et filii Ammon, et cum eis de Ammonitis, ad Josaphat, ut pugnarent contra eum.(vulgate) 1 ׃20 וַיְהִ֣י אֽ͏ַחֲרֵי[c]כֵ֡ן בָּ֣אוּ בְנֵי־מוֹאָב֩ וּבְנֵ֨י עַמּ֜וֹן וְעִמָּהֶ֧ם ׀ מֵֽהָעַמּוֹנִ֛ים עַל־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:1 Nach diesem kamen die Kinder Moab, die Kinder Ammon und mit ihnen auch Meuniter, wider Josaphat zu streiten.(dhs) 2Ch 20:1 It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:2 ============ 2Ch 20:2 Then some came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, out of Aram and behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (that is Engedi)."(nas) 2Ch 20:2 καὶ ἦλθον καὶ ὑπέδειξαν τῷ Ιωσαφατ λέγοντες ἥκει ἐπὶ σὲ πλῆθος πολὺ ἐκ πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης ἀπὸ Συρίας καὶ ἰδού εἰσιν ἐν Ασασανθαμαρ αὕτη ἐστὶν Ενγαδδι (lxx) 2Ch 20:2 Veneruntque nuntii, et indicaverunt Josaphat, dicentes: Venit contra te multitudo magna de his locis quæ trans mare sunt, et de Syria: et ecce consistunt in Asasonthamar, quæ est Engaddi.(vulgate) 2 ׃20 וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ וַיַּגִּ֤ידוּ לִֽיהוֹשָׁפָט֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר בָּ֣א עָלֶ֜יךָ הָמ֥וֹן רָ֛ב מֵעֵ֥בֶר לַיָּ֖ם מֵאֲרָ֑ם וְהִנָּם֙ בְּחַֽצְצ֣וֹן תָּמָ֔ר הִ֖יא עֵ֥ין גֶּֽדִי׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:2 Und man kam und sagte es Josaphat an und sprach: Es kommt wider dich eine große Menge von jenseits des Meeres, von Syrien; und siehe, sie sind zu Hazezon-Thamar, das ist Engedi.(dhs) 2Ch 20:2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar" (which is En Gedi).(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:3 ============ 2Ch 20:3 Jehoshaphat was afraid and turned his attention to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.(nas) 2Ch 20:3 καὶ ἐφοβήθη καὶ ἔδωκεν Ιωσαφατ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον καὶ ἐκήρυξεν νηστείαν ἐν παντὶ Ιουδα (lxx) 2Ch 20:3 Josaphat autem timore perterritus, totum se contulit ad rogandum Dominum, et prædicavit jejunium universo Juda.(vulgate) 3 ׃20 וַיִּרָ֕א וַיִּתֵּ֧ן יְהוֹשָׁפָ֛ט אֶת־פָּנָ֖יו לִדְר֣וֹשׁ לַיהוָ֑ה וַיִּקְרָא־צ֖וֹם עַל־כָּל־יְהוּדָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:3 Josaphat aber fürchtete sich und stellte sein Angesicht, zu suchen den HERRN, und ließ ein Fasten ausrufen unter ganz Juda.(dhs) 2Ch 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:4 ============ 2Ch 20:4 So Judah gathered together to seek help from the Lord; they even came from all the cities of Judah to seek the Lord.(nas) 2Ch 20:4 καὶ συνήχθη Ιουδας ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον καὶ ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν πόλεων Ιουδα ἦλθον ζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον (lxx) 2Ch 20:4 Congregatusque est Judas ad deprecandum Dominum: sed et omnes de urbibus suis venerunt ad obsecrandum eum.(vulgate) 4 ׃20 וַיִּקָּבְצ֣וּ יְהוּדָ֔ה לְבַקֵּ֖שׁ מֵֽיְהוָ֑ה גַּ֚ם מִכָּל־עָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה בָּ֖אוּ לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:4 Und Juda kam zusammen, den HERRN zu suchen; auch kamen sie aus allen Städten Juda's, den HERRN zu suchen.(dhs) 2Ch 20:4 So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:5 ============ 2Ch 20:5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord before the new court,(nas) 2Ch 20:5 καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωσαφατ ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ Ιουδα ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου κατὰ πρόσωπον τῆς αὐλῆς τῆς καινῆς (lxx) 2Ch 20:5 Cumque stetisset Josaphat in medio cœtu Juda et Jerusalem, in domo Domini ante atrium novum,(vulgate) 5 ׃20 וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט בִּקְהַ֧ל יְהוּדָ֛ה וִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בְּבֵ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה לִפְנֵ֖י הֶחָצֵ֥ר הַחֲדָשָֽׁה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:5 Und Josaphat trat unter die Gemeinde Juda's und Jerusalems im Hause des HERRN vor dem neuen Hofe(dhs) 2Ch 20:5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court,(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:6 ============ 2Ch 20:6 and he said, "O Lord, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You.(nas) 2Ch 20:6 καὶ εἶπεν κύριε ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν οὐχὶ σὺ εἶ θεὸς ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ σὺ κυριεύεις πασῶν τῶν βασιλειῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν καὶ ἐν τῇ χειρί σου ἰσχὺς δυναστείας καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν πρὸς σὲ ἀντιστῆναι (lxx) 2Ch 20:6 ait: Domine Deus patrum nostrorum, tu es Deus in cælo, et dominaris cunctis regnis gentium: in manu tua est fortitudo et potentia, nec quisquam tibi potest resistere.(vulgate) 6 ׃20 וַיֹּאמַ֗ר יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י אֲבֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ הֲלֹ֨א אַתָּֽה־ה֤וּא אֱלֹהִים֙ בַּשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְאַתָּ֣ה מוֹשֵׁ֔ל בְּכֹ֖ל מַמְלְכ֣וֹת הַגּוֹיִ֑ם וּבְיָדְךָ֙ כֹּ֣חַ וּגְבוּרָ֔ה וְאֵ֥ין עִמְּךָ֖ לְהִתְיַצֵּֽב׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:6 und sprach: HERR, unser Väter Gott, bist du nicht Gott im Himmel und Herrscher in allen Königreichen der Heiden? Und in deiner Hand ist Kraft und Macht, und ist niemand, der wider dich zu stehen vermöge.(dhs) 2Ch 20:6 and said: "O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You?(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:7 ============ 2Ch 20:7 Did You not, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel and give it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?(nas) 2Ch 20:7 οὐχὶ σὺ εἶ ὁ κύριος ὁ ἐξολεθρεύσας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν ταύτην ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ λαοῦ σου Ισραηλ καὶ ἔδωκας αὐτὴν σπέρματι Αβρααμ τῷ ἠγαπημένῳ σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα (lxx) 2Ch 20:7 Nonne tu, Deus noster, interfecisti omnes habitatores terræ hujus coram populo tuo Israël, et dedisti eam semini Abraham amici tui in sempiternum?(vulgate) 7 ׃20 הֲלֹ֣א ׀ אַתָּ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ הוֹרַ֙שְׁתָּ֙ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵי֙ הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את מִלִּפְנֵ֖י עַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַֽתִּתְּנָ֗הּ לְזֶ֛רַע אַבְרָהָ֥ם אֹֽהַבְךָ֖ לְעוֹלָֽם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:7 Hast du, unser Gott, nicht die Einwohner dieses Landes vertrieben vor deinem Volk Israel und hast es gegeben dem Samen Abrahams, deines Liebhabers, ewiglich,(dhs) 2Ch 20:7 Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:8 ============ 2Ch 20:8 They have lived in it, and have built You a sanctuary there for Your name, saying,(nas) 2Ch 20:8 καὶ κατῴκησαν ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν ἐν αὐτῇ ἁγίασμα τῷ ὀνόματί σου λέγοντες (lxx) 2Ch 20:8 Habitaveruntque in ea, et exstruxerunt in illa sanctuarium nomini tuo, dicentes:(vulgate) 8 ׃20 וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ־בָ֑הּ וַיִּבְנ֨וּ לְךָ֧ ׀ בָּ֛הּ מִקְדָּ֖שׁ לְשִׁמְךָ֥ לֵאמֹֽר׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:8 daß sie darin gewohnt und dir ein Heiligtum für deinen Namen darin gebaut haben und gesagt:(dhs) 2Ch 20:8 And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying,(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:9 ============ 2Ch 20:9 'Should evil come upon us, the sword, or judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for Your name is in this house) and cry to You in our distress, and You will hear and deliver us.'(nas) 2Ch 20:9 ἐὰν ἐπέλθῃ ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς κακά ῥομφαία κρίσις θάνατος λιμός στησόμεθα ἐναντίον τοῦ οἴκου τούτου καὶ ἐναντίον σου ὅτι τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπὶ τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ καὶ βοησόμεθα πρὸς σὲ ἀπὸ τῆς θλίψεως καὶ ἀκούσῃ καὶ σώσεις (lxx) 2Ch 20:9 Si irruerint super nos mala, gladius judicii, pestilentia, et fames, stabimus coram domo hac in conspectu tuo, in qua invocatum est nomen tuum: et clamabimus ad te in tribulationibus nostris, et exaudies, salvosque facies.(vulgate) 9 ׃20 אִם־תָּב֨וֹא עָלֵ֜ינוּ רָעָ֗ה חֶרֶב֮ שְׁפוֹט֮ וְדֶ֣בֶר וְרָעָב֒ נַֽעַמְדָ֞ה לִפְנֵ֨י הַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ וּלְפָנֶ֔יךָ כִּ֥י שִׁמְךָ֖ בַּבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּ֑ה וְנִזְעַ֥ק אֵלֶ֛יךָ מִצָּרָתֵ֖נוּ וְתִשְׁמַ֥ע וְתוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:9 Wenn ein Unglück, Schwert, Strafe, Pestilenz oder Teuerung über uns kommt, sollen wir stehen vor diesem Hause vor dir (denn dein Name ist in diesem Hause) und schreien zu dir in unsrer Not, so wollest du hören und helfen?(dhs) 2Ch 20:9 'If disaster comes upon us--sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine--we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.'(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:10 ============ 2Ch 20:10 Now behold, the sons of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom You did not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt (they turned aside from them and did not destroy them),(nas) 2Ch 20:10 καὶ νῦν ἰδοὺ υἱοὶ Αμμων καὶ Μωαβ καὶ ὄρος Σηιρ εἰς οὓς οὐκ ἔδωκας τῷ Ισραηλ διελθεῖν δι᾽ αὐτῶν ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ὅτι ἐξέκλιναν ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐξωλέθρευσαν αὐτούς (lxx) 2Ch 20:10 Nunc igitur, ecce filii Ammon, et Moab, et mons Seir, per quos non concessisti Israël ut transirent quando egrediebantur de Ægypto, sed declinaverunt ab eis, et non interfecerunt illos,(vulgate) 10 ׃20 וְעַתָּ֡ה הִנֵּה֩ בְנֵֽי־עַמּ֨וֹן וּמוֹאָ֜ב וְהַר־שֵׂעִ֗יר אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹֽא־נָתַ֤תָּה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לָב֣וֹא בָהֶ֔ם בְּבֹאָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּ֛י סָ֥רוּ מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם וְלֹ֥א הִשְׁמִידֽוּם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:10 Nun siehe, die Kinder Ammon und Moab und die vom Gebirge Seir, durch welche du die Kinder Israel nicht ziehen ließest, da sie aus Ägyptenland zogen, sondern sie mußten von ihnen weichen und durften sie nicht vertilgen;(dhs) 2Ch 20:10 And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir--whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them--(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:11 ============ 2Ch 20:11 see how they are rewarding us by coming to drive us out from Your possession which You have given us as an inheritance.(nas) 2Ch 20:11 καὶ νῦν ἰδοὺ αὐτοὶ ἐπιχειροῦσιν ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς ἐξελθεῖν ἐκβαλεῖν ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ τῆς κληρονομίας ἡμῶν ἧς ἔδωκας ἡμῖν (lxx) 2Ch 20:11 e contrario agunt, et nituntur ejicere nos de possessione quam tradidisti nobis.(vulgate) 11 ׃20 וְהִ֨נֵּה־הֵ֔ם גֹּמְלִ֖ים עָלֵ֑ינוּ לָבוֹא֙ לְגָ֣רְשֵׁ֔נוּ מִיְּרֻשָּׁתְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֽוֹרַשְׁתָּֽנוּ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:11 und siehe, sie lassen uns das entgelten und kommen, uns auszustoßen aus deinem Erbe, das du uns gegeben hast.(dhs) 2Ch 20:11 here they are, rewarding us by coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:12 ============ 2Ch 20:12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You."(nas) 2Ch 20:12 κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν οὐ κρινεῖς ἐν αὐτοῖς ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἡμῖν ἰσχὺς τοῦ ἀντιστῆναι πρὸς τὸ πλῆθος τὸ πολὺ τοῦτο τὸ ἐλθὸν ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς καὶ οὐκ οἴδαμεν τί ποιήσωμεν αὐτοῖς ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ἐπὶ σοὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμῶν (lxx) 2Ch 20:12 Deus noster, ergo non judicabis eos? in nobis quidem non est tanta fortitudo, ut possimus huic multitudini resistere, quæ irruit super nos. Sed cum ignoremus quid agere debeamus, hoc solum habemus residui, ut oculos nostros dirigamus ad te.~(vulgate) 12 ׃20 אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ הֲלֹ֣א תִשְׁפָּט־בָּ֔ם כִּ֣י אֵ֥ין בָּ֙נוּ֙ כֹּ֔חַ לִ֠פְנֵי הֶהָמ֥וֹן הָרָ֛ב הַזֶּ֖ה הַבָּ֣א עָלֵ֑ינוּ וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ לֹ֤א נֵדַע֙ מַֽה־נַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה כִּ֥י עָלֶ֖יךָ עֵינֵֽינוּ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:12 Unser Gott, willst du sie nicht richten? Denn in uns ist nicht Kraft gegen diesen großen Haufen, der wider uns kommt. Wir wissen nicht, was wir tun sollen; sondern unsre Augen sehen nach dir.(dhs) 2Ch 20:12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You."(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:13 ============ 2Ch 20:13 All Judah was standing before the Lord, with their infants, their wives and their children.(nas) 2Ch 20:13 καὶ πᾶς Ιουδας ἑστηκὼς ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ τὰ παιδία αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες (lxx) 2Ch 20:13 Omnis vero Juda stabat coram Domino cum parvulis, et uxoribus, et liberis suis.(vulgate) 13 ׃20 וְכָ֨ל־יְהוּדָ֔ה עֹמְדִ֖ים לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה גַּם־טַפָּ֖ם נְשֵׁיהֶ֥ם וּבְנֵיהֶֽם׃ פ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:13 Und das ganze Juda stand vor dem HERRN mit ihren Kindern, Weibern und Söhnen.(dhs) 2Ch 20:13 Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before the Lord.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:14 ============ 2Ch 20:14 Then in the midst of the assembly the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite of the sons of Asaph;(nas) 2Ch 20:14 καὶ τῷ Οζιηλ τῷ τοῦ Ζαχαριου τῶν υἱῶν Βαναιου τῶν υἱῶν Ελεηλ τοῦ Μανθανιου τοῦ Λευίτου ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ασαφ ἐγένετο ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα κυρίου ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ (lxx) 2Ch 20:14 Erat autem Jahaziel filius Zachariæ filii Banaiæ filii Jehiel filii Mathaniæ, Levites de filiis Asaph, super quem factus est spiritus Domini, in medio turbæ,(vulgate) 14 ׃20 וְיַחֲזִיאֵ֡ל בֶּן־זְכַרְיָ֡הוּ בֶּן־בְּ֠נָיָה בֶּן־יְעִיאֵ֧ל בֶּן־מַתַּנְיָ֛ה הַלֵּוִ֖י מִן־בְּנֵ֣י אָסָ֑ף הָיְתָ֤ה עָלָיו֙ ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֔ה בְּת֖וֹךְ הַקָּהָֽל׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:14 Aber auf Jahasiel, den Sohn Sacharjas, des Sohnes Benajas, des Sohnes Jehiels, des Sohnes Matthanjas, den Leviten aus den Kindern Asaph, kam der Geist des HERRN mitten in der Gemeinde,(dhs) 2Ch 20:14 Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 20:15 ============ 2Ch 20:15 and he said, "Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the Lord to you, 'Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God's.(nas) 2Ch 20:15 καὶ εἶπεν ἀκούσατε πᾶς Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωσαφατ τάδε λέγει κύριος ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς μὴ φοβεῖσθε μηδὲ πτοηθῆτε ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ ὄχλου τοῦ πολλοῦ τούτου ὅτι οὐχ ὑμῖν ἐστιν ἡ παράταξις ἀλλ᾽ ἢ τῷ θεῷ (lxx) 2Ch 20:15 et ait: Attendite, omnis Juda, et qui habitatis Jerusalem, et tu, rex Josaphat: hæc dicit Dominus vobis: Nolite timere, nec paveatis hanc multitudinem: non est enim vestra pugna, sed Dei.(vulgate) 15 ׃20 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הַקְשִׁ֤יבוּ כָל־יְהוּדָה֙ וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם וְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ יְהוֹשָׁפָ֑ט כֹּֽה־אָמַ֨ר יְהוָ֜ה לָכֶ֗ם אַ֠תֶּם אַל־תִּֽירְא֤וּ וְאַל־תֵּחַ֙תּוּ֙ מִפְּנֵ֨י הֶהָמ֤וֹן הָרָב֙ הַזֶּ֔ה כִּ֣י לֹ֥א לָכֶ֛ם הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה כִּ֥י לֵאלֹהִֽים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 20:15 und er sprach: Merkt auf, ganz Juda und ihr Einwohner zu Jerusalem und du, König Josaphat!
