Today's Date: ======= 2 Chronicles 19:1 ============ 2Ch 19:1 Then Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned in safety to his house in Jerusalem.(nas) 2Ch 19:1 καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ἐν εἰρήνῃ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Ch 19:1 Reversus est autem Josaphat rex Juda in domum suam pacifice in Jerusalem.(vulgate) 1 ׃19 וַ֠יָּשָׁב יְהוֹשָׁפָ֨ט מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֧ה אֶל־בֵּית֛וֹ בְּשָׁל֖וֹם לִֽירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:1 Josaphat aber, der König Juda's, kam wieder heim mit Frieden gen Jerusalem.(dhs) 2Ch 19:1 Then Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned safely to his house in Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:2 ============ 2Ch 19:2 Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat, "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord and so bring wrath on yourself from the Lord?(nas) 2Ch 19:2 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτοῦ Ιου ὁ τοῦ Ανανι ὁ προφήτης καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ βασιλεῦ Ιωσαφατ εἰ ἁμαρτωλῷ σὺ βοηθεῖς ἢ μισουμένῳ ὑπὸ κυρίου φιλιάζεις διὰ τοῦτο ἐγένετο ἐπὶ σὲ ὀργὴ παρὰ κυρίου (lxx) 2Ch 19:2 Cui occurrit Jehu filius Henani videns, et ait ad eum: Impio præbes auxilium, et his qui oderunt Dominum amicitia jungeris, et idcirco iram quidem Domini merebaris:(vulgate) 2 ׃19 וַיֵּצֵ֣א אֶל־פָּנָ֗יו יֵה֣וּא בֶן־חֲנָ֘נִי֮ הַחֹזֶה֒ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יְהוֹשָׁפָ֔ט הֲלָרָשָׁ֣ע לַעְזֹ֔ר וּלְשֹׂנְאֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה תֶּאֱהָ֑ב וּבָזֹאת֙ עָלֶ֣יךָ קֶּ֔צֶף מִלִּפְנֵ֖י יְהוָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:2 Und es gingen ihm entgegen hinaus Jehu, der Sohn Hananis, der Seher, und sprach zum König Josaphat: Sollst du so dem Gottlosen helfen, und lieben, die den HERRN hassen? Und um deswillen ist über dir der Zorn vom HERRN.(dhs) 2Ch 19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:3 ============ 2Ch 19:3 But there is some good in you, for you have removed the Asheroth from the land and you have set your heart to seek God."(nas) 2Ch 19:3 ἀλλ᾽ ἢ λόγοι ἀγαθοὶ ηὑρέθησαν ἐν σοί ὅτι ἐξῆρας τὰ ἄλση ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς Ιουδα καὶ κατηύθυνας τὴν καρδίαν σου ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον (lxx) 2Ch 19:3 sed bona opera inventa sunt in te, eo quod abstuleris lucos de terra Juda, et præparaveris cor tuum ut requireres Dominum Deum patrum tuorum.~(vulgate) 3 ׃19 אֲבָ֕ל דְּבָרִ֥ים טוֹבִ֖ים נִמְצְא֣וּ עִמָּ֑ךְ כִּֽי־בִעַ֤רְתָּ הָאֲשֵׁרוֹת֙ מִן־הָאָ֔רֶץ וַהֲכִינ֥וֹתָ לְבָבְךָ֖ לִדְרֹ֥שׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִֽים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:3 Aber doch ist etwas Gutes an dir gefunden, daß du die Ascherabilder hast ausgefegt aus dem Lande und hast dein Herz gerichtet, Gott zu suchen.(dhs) 2Ch 19:3 Nevertheless good things are found in you, in that you have removed the wooden images from the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God."(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:4 ============ 2Ch 19:4 So Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem and went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim and brought them back to the Lord, the God of their fathers.(nas) 2Ch 19:4 καὶ κατῴκησεν Ιωσαφατ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ πάλιν ἐξῆλθεν εἰς τὸν λαὸν ἀπὸ Βηρσαβεε ἕως ὄρους Εφραιμ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ κύριον θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν (lxx) 2Ch 19:4 Habitavit ergo Josaphat in Jerusalem, rursumque egressus est ad populum de Bersabee usque ad montem Ephraim, et revocavit eos ad Dominum Deum patrum suorum.(vulgate) 4 ׃19 וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם ס וַיָּ֜שָׁב וַיֵּצֵ֣א בָעָ֗ם מִבְּאֵ֥ר שֶׁ֙בַע֙ עַד־הַ֣ר אֶפְרַ֔יִם וַיְשִׁיבֵ֕ם אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:4 Also blieb Josaphat zu Jerusalem. Und er zog wiederum aus unter das Volk von Beer-Seba an bis auf das Gebirge Ephraim und brachte sie wieder zu dem HERRN, ihrer Väter Gott.(dhs) 2Ch 19:4 So Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them back to the Lord God of their fathers.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:5 ============ 2Ch 19:5 He appointed judges in the land in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city.(nas) 2Ch 19:5 καὶ κατέστησεν κριτὰς ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα ταῖς ὀχυραῖς ἐν πόλει καὶ πόλει (lxx) 2Ch 19:5 Constituitque judices terræ in cunctis civitatibus Juda munitis per singula loca,(vulgate) 5 ׃19 וַיַּעֲמֵ֨ד שֹֽׁפְטִ֜ים בָּאָ֗רֶץ בְּכָל־עָרֵ֧י יְהוּדָ֛ה הַבְּצֻר֖וֹת לְעִ֥יר וָעִֽיר׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:5 Und er bestellte Richter im Lande in allen festen Städten Juda's, in einer jeglichen Stadt etliche,(dhs) 2Ch 19:5 Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:6 ============ 2Ch 19:6 He said to the judges, "Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment.(nas) 2Ch 19:6 καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς κριταῖς ἴδετε τί ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε ὅτι οὐκ ἀνθρώπῳ ὑμεῖς κρίνετε ἀλλ᾽ ἢ τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν λόγοι τῆς κρίσεως (lxx) 2Ch 19:6 et præcipiens judicibus: Videte, ait, quid faciatis: non enim hominis exercetis judicium, sed Domini: et quodcumque judicaveritis, in vos redundabit.(vulgate) 6 ׃19 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־הַשֹּֽׁפְטִ֗ים רְאוּ֙ מָֽה־אַתֶּ֣ם עֹשִׂ֔ים כִּ֣י לֹ֧א לְאָדָ֛ם תִּשְׁפְּט֖וּ כִּ֣י לַיהוָ֑ה וְעִמָּכֶ֖ם בִּדְבַ֥ר מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:6 Und sprach zu den Richtern: Sehet zu, was ihr tut! denn ihr haltet das Gericht nicht den Menschen, sondern dem HERRN; und er ist mit euch im Gericht.(dhs) 2Ch 19:6 and said to the judges, "Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:7 ============ 2Ch 19:7 Now then let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be very careful what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in unrighteousness or partiality or the taking of a bribe."(nas) 2Ch 19:7 καὶ νῦν γενέσθω φόβος κυρίου ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς καὶ φυλάσσετε καὶ ποιήσετε ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν μετὰ κυρίου θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἀδικία οὐδὲ θαυμάσαι πρόσωπον οὐδὲ λαβεῖν δῶρα (lxx) 2Ch 19:7 Sit timor Domini vobiscum, et cum diligentia cuncta facite: non est enim apud Dominum Deum nostrum iniquitas, nec personarum acceptio, nec cupido munerum.(vulgate) 7 ׃19 וְעַתָּ֕ה יְהִ֥י פַֽחַד־יְהוָ֖ה עֲלֵיכֶ֑ם שִׁמְר֣וּ וַעֲשׂ֔וּ כִּֽי־אֵ֞ין עִם־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ עַוְלָ֛ה וּמַשֹּׂ֥א פָנִ֖ים וּמִקַּח־שֹֽׁחַד׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:7 Darum laßt die Furcht des HERRN bei euch sein und hütet euch und tut's; denn bei dem HERRN, unserm Gott, ist kein Unrecht noch Ansehen der Person noch Annehmen des Geschenks.(dhs) 2Ch 19:7 Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes."(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:8 ============ 2Ch 19:8 In Jerusalem also Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the heads of the fathers' households of Israel, for the judgment of the Lord and to judge disputes among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.(nas) 2Ch 19:8 καὶ γὰρ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ κατέστησεν Ιωσαφατ τῶν ἱερέων καὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν καὶ τῶν πατριαρχῶν Ισραηλ εἰς κρίσιν κυρίου καὶ κρίνειν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Ch 19:8 In Jerusalem quoque constituit Josaphat Levitas, et sacerdotes, et principes familiarum ex Israël, ut judicium et causam Domini judicarent habitatoribus ejus.(vulgate) 8 ׃19 וְגַ֣ם בִּ֠ירוּשָׁלִַם הֶעֱמִ֨יד יְהוֹשָׁפָ֜ט מִן־הַלְוִיִּ֣ם וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים וּמֵרָאשֵׁ֤י הָאָבוֹת֙ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְמִשְׁפַּ֥ט יְהוָ֖ה וְלָרִ֑יב וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:8 Auch bestellte Josaphat zu Jerusalem etliche aus den Leviten und Priestern und aus den Obersten der Vaterhäuser in Israel über das Gericht des HERRN und über die Streitsachen und ließ sie zu Jerusalem wohnen,(dhs) 2Ch 19:8 Moreover in Jerusalem, for the judgment of the Lord and for controversies, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the chief fathers of Israel, when they returned to Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:9 ============ 2Ch 19:9 Then he charged them saying, "Thus you shall do in the fear of the Lord, faithfully and wholeheartedly.(nas) 2Ch 19:9 καὶ ἐνετείλατο πρὸς αὐτοὺς λέγων οὕτως ποιήσετε ἐν φόβῳ κυρίου ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ ἐν πλήρει καρδίᾳ (lxx) 2Ch 19:9 Præcepitque eis, dicens: Sic agetis in timore Domini fideliter et corde perfecto.(vulgate) 9 ׃19 וַיְצַ֥ו עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר כֹּ֤ה תַעֲשׂוּן֙ בְּיִרְאַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה בֶּאֱמוּנָ֖ה וּבְלֵבָ֥ב שָׁלֵֽם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:9 und er gebot ihnen und sprach: Tut also in der Furcht des HERRN, treulich und mit rechtem Herzen.(dhs) 2Ch 19:9 And he commanded them, saying, "Thus you shall act in the fear of the Lord, faithfully and with a loyal heart:(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:10 ============ 2Ch 19:10 Whenever any dispute comes to you from your brethren who live in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you shall warn them so that they may not be guilty before the Lord, and wrath may not come on you and your brethren. Thus you shall do and you will not be guilty.(nas) 2Ch 19:10 πᾶς ἀνὴρ κρίσιν τὴν ἐλθοῦσαν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν τῶν κατοικούντων ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν ἀνὰ μέσον αἵματος αἷμα καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον προστάγματος καὶ ἐντολῆς καὶ δικαιώματα καὶ κρίματα καὶ διαστελεῖσθε αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσονται τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς ὀργὴ καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν οὕτως ποιήσετε καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσεσθε (lxx) 2Ch 19:10 Omnem causam quæ venerit ad vos fratrum vestrorum, qui habitant in urbibus suis inter cognationem et cognationem, ubicumque quæstio est de lege, de mandato, de cæremoniis, de justificationibus: ostendite eis, ut non peccent in Dominum, et ne veniat ira super vos et super fratres vestros: sic ergo agentes non peccabitis.(vulgate) 10 ׃19 וְכָל־רִיב֩ אֲשֶׁר־יָב֨וֹא עֲלֵיכֶ֜ם מֵאֲחֵיכֶ֣ם ׀ הַיֹּשְׁבִ֣ים בְּעָרֵיהֶ֗ם בֵּֽין־דָּ֣ם ׀ לְדָם֮ בֵּין־תּוֹרָ֣ה לְמִצְוָה֮ לְחֻקִּ֣ים וּלְמִשְׁפָּטִים֒ וְהִזְהַרְתֶּ֣ם אֹתָ֔ם וְלֹ֤א יֶאְשְׁמוּ֙ לַיהוָ֔ה וְהָֽיָה־קֶ֥צֶף עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם וְעַל־אֲחֵיכֶ֑ם כֹּ֥ה תַעֲשׂ֖וּן וְלֹ֥א תֶאְשָֽׁמוּ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:10 In allen Sachen, die zu euch kommen von euren Brüdern, die in ihren Städten wohnen, zwischen Blut und Blut, zwischen Gesetz und Gebot, zwischen Sitten und Rechten, sollt ihr sie unterrichten, daß sie sich nicht verschulden am HERRN und ein Zorn über euch und eure Brüder komme. Tut also, so werdet ihr euch nicht verschulden.(dhs) 2Ch 19:10 Whatever case comes to you from your brethren who dwell in their cities, whether of bloodshed or offenses against law or commandment, against statutes or ordinances, you shall warn them, lest they trespass against the Lord and wrath come upon you and your brethren. Do this, and you will not be guilty.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 19:11 ============ 2Ch 19:11 Behold, Amariah the chief priest will be over you in all that pertains to the Lord, and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all that pertains to the king. Also the Levites shall be officers before you. Act resolutely, and the Lord be with the upright."(nas) 2Ch 19:11 καὶ ἰδοὺ Αμαριας ὁ ἱερεὺς ἡγούμενος ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς εἰς πᾶν λόγον κυρίου καὶ Ζαβδιας υἱὸς Ισμαηλ ὁ ἡγούμενος εἰς οἶκον Ιουδα πρὸς πᾶν λόγον βασιλέως καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν ἰσχύσατε καὶ ποιήσατε καὶ ἔσται κύριος μετὰ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 19:11 Amarias autem sacerdos et pontifex vester in his quæ ad Deum pertinent, præsidebit: porro Zabadias filius Ismahel, qui est dux in domo Juda, super ea opera erit quæ ad regis officium pertinent: habetisque magistros Levitas coram vobis. Confortamini, et agite diligenter, et erit Dominus vobiscum in bonis.(vulgate) 11 ׃19 וְהִנֵּ֡ה אֲמַרְיָ֣הוּ כֹהֵן֩ הָרֹ֨אשׁ עֲלֵיכֶ֜ם לְכֹ֣ל דְּבַר־יְהוָ֗ה וּזְבַדְיָ֨הוּ בֶן־יִשְׁמָעֵ֜אל הַנָּגִ֤יד לְבֵית־יְהוּדָה֙ לְכֹ֣ל דְּבַר־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְשֹׁטְרִ֥ים הַלְוִיִּ֖ם לִפְנֵיכֶ֑ם חִזְק֣וּ וַעֲשׂ֔וּ וִיהִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה עִם־הַטּֽוֹב׃ פ Chronicles2 2Ch 19:11 Siehe, Amarja, der oberste Priester, ist über euch in allen Sachen des HERRN, und Sebadja, der Sohn Ismaels, der Fürst im Hause Juda's, in allen Sachen des Königs, und als Amtleute habt ihr die Leviten vor euch. Seid getrost und tut's, und der HERR wird mit dem Guten sein.(dhs) 2Ch 19:11 And take notice: Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters; also the Levites will be officials before you.
