And to which of the holy ones will you turn?(nas) Job 5:1 ἐπικάλεσαι δέ εἴ τίς σοι ὑπακούσεται ἢ εἴ τινα ἀγγέλων ἁγίων ὄψῃ (lxx) Job 5:1 [Voca ergo, si est qui tibi respondeat, et ad aliquem sanctorum convertere.(vulgate) 1 ׃5 קְֽרָא־נָ֭א הֲיֵ֣שׁ עוֹנֶ֑ךָּ וְאֶל־מִ֖י מִקְּדֹשִׁ֣ים תִּפְנֶֽה׃ Job Job 5:1 Rufe doch! was gilts, ob einer dir antworte? Und an welchen von den Heiligen willst du dich wenden?(dhs) Job 5:1 "Call out now; Is there anyone who will answer you? And to which of the holy ones will you turn?(nkjv) ======= Job 5:2 ============ Job 5:2 "For anger slays the foolish man, And jealousy kills the simple.(nas) Job 5:2 καὶ γὰρ ἄφρονα ἀναιρεῖ ὀργή πεπλανημένον δὲ θανατοῖ ζῆλος (lxx) Job 5:2 Vere stultum interficit iracundia, et parvulum occidit invidia.(vulgate) 2 ׃5 כִּֽי־לֶֽ֭אֱוִיל יַהֲרָג־כָּ֑עַשׂ וּ֝פֹתֶ֗ה תָּמִ֥ית קִנְאָֽה׃ Job Job 5:2 Einen Toren aber erwürgt wohl der Unmut, und den Unverständigen tötet der Eifer.(dhs) Job 5:2 For wrath kills a foolish man, And envy slays a simple one.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:3 ============ Job 5:3 "I have seen the foolish taking root, And I cursed his abode immediately.(nas) Job 5:3 ἐγὼ δὲ ἑώρακα ἄφρονας ῥίζαν βάλλοντας ἀλλ᾽ εὐθέως ἐβρώθη αὐτῶν ἡ δίαιτα (lxx) Job 5:3 Ego vidi stultum firma radice, et maledixi pulchritudini ejus statim.(vulgate) 3 ׃5 אֲֽנִי־רָ֭אִיתִי אֱוִ֣יל מַשְׁרִ֑ישׁ וָאֶקּ֖וֹב נָוֵ֣הוּ פִתְאֹֽם׃ Job Job 5:3 Ich sah einen Toren eingewurzelt, und ich fluchte plötzlich seinem Hause.(dhs) Job 5:3 I have seen the foolish taking root, But suddenly I cursed his dwelling place.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:4 ============ Job 5:4 "His sons are far from safety, They are even oppressed in the gate, And there is no deliverer.(nas) Job 5:4 πόρρω γένοιντο οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν ἀπὸ σωτηρίας κολαβρισθείησαν δὲ ἐπὶ θύραις ἡσσόνων καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ ἐξαιρούμενος (lxx) Job 5:4 Longe fient filii ejus a salute, et conterentur in porta, et non erit qui eruat.(vulgate) 4 ׃5 יִרְחֲק֣וּ בָנָ֣יו מִיֶּ֑שַׁע וְיִֽדַּכְּא֥וּ בַ֝שַּׁ֗עַר וְאֵ֣ין מַצִּֽיל׃ Job Job 5:4 Seine Kinder werden fern sein vom Heil und werden zerschlagen werden im Tor, da kein Erretter sein wird.(dhs) Job 5:4 His sons are far from safety, They are crushed in the gate, And there is no deliverer.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:5 ============ Job 5:5 "His harvest the hungry devour And take it to a place of thorns, And the schemer is eager for their wealth.(nas) Job 5:5 ἃ γὰρ ἐκεῖνοι συνήγαγον δίκαιοι ἔδονται αὐτοὶ δὲ ἐκ κακῶν οὐκ ἐξαίρετοι ἔσονται ἐκσιφωνισθείη αὐτῶν ἡ ἰσχύς (lxx) Job 5:5 Cujus messem famelicus comedet, et ipsum rapiet armatus, et bibent sitientes divitias ejus.(vulgate) 5 ׃5 אֲשֶׁ֤ר קְצִיר֨וֹ ׀ רָ֘עֵ֤ב יֹאכֵ֗ל וְאֶֽל־מִצִנִּ֥ים יִקָּחֵ֑הוּ וְשָׁאַ֖ף צַמִּ֣ים חֵילָֽם׃ Job Job 5:5 Seine Ernte wird essen der Hungrige und auch aus den Hecken sie holen, und sein Gut werden die Durstigen aussaufen.(dhs) Job 5:5 Because the hungry eat up his harvest, Taking it even from the thorns, And a snare snatches their substance.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:6 ============ Job 5:6 "For affliction does not come from the dust, Nor does trouble sprout from the ground,(nas) Job 5:6 οὐ γὰρ μὴ ἐξέλθῃ ἐκ τῆς γῆς κόπος οὐδὲ ἐξ ὀρέων ἀναβλαστήσει πόνος (lxx) Job 5:6 Nihil in terra sine causa fit, et de humo non oritur dolor.(vulgate) 6 ׃5 כִּ֤י ׀ לֹא־יֵצֵ֣א מֵעָפָ֣ר אָ֑וֶן וּ֝מֵאֲדָמָ֗ה לֹא־יִצְמַ֥ח עָמָֽל׃ Job Job 5:6 Denn Mühsal aus der Erde nicht geht und Unglück aus dem Acker nicht wächst;(dhs) Job 5:6 For affliction does not come from the dust, Nor does trouble spring from the ground;(nkjv) ======= Job 5:7 ============ Job 5:7 For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward.(nas) Job 5:7 ἀλλὰ ἄνθρωπος γεννᾶται κόπῳ νεοσσοὶ δὲ γυπὸς τὰ ὑψηλὰ πέτονται (lxx) Job 5:7 Homo nascitur ad laborem, et avis ad volatum.(vulgate) 7 ׃5 כִּֽי־אָ֭דָם לְעָמָ֣ל יוּלָּ֑ד וּבְנֵי־רֶ֝֗שֶׁף יַגְבִּ֥יהוּ עֽוּף׃ Job Job 5:7 sondern der Mensch wird zu Unglück geboren, wie die Vögel schweben, emporzufliegen.(dhs) Job 5:7 Yet man is born to trouble, As the sparks fly upward.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:8 ============ Job 5:8 "But as for me, I would seek God, And I would place my cause before God;(nas) Job 5:8 οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ ἐγὼ δεηθήσομαι κυρίου κύριον δὲ τὸν πάντων δεσπότην ἐπικαλέσομαι (lxx) Job 5:8 Quam ob rem ego deprecabor Dominum, et ad Deum ponam eloquium meum:(vulgate) 8 ׃5 אוּלָ֗ם אֲ֭נִי אֶדְרֹ֣שׁ אֶל־אֵ֑ל וְאֶל־אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים אָשִׂ֥ים דִּבְרָתִֽי׃ Job Job 5:8 Ich aber würde zu Gott mich wenden und meine Sache vor ihn bringen,(dhs) Job 5:8 "But as for me, I would seek God, And to God I would commit my cause--(nkjv) ======= Job 5:9 ============ Job 5:9 Who does great and unsearchable things, Wonders without number.(nas) Job 5:9 τὸν ποιοῦντα μεγάλα καὶ ἀνεξιχνίαστα ἔνδοξά τε καὶ ἐξαίσια ὧν οὐκ ἔστιν ἀριθμός (lxx) Job 5:9 qui facit magna et inscrutabilia, et mirabilia absque numero;(vulgate) 9 ׃5 עֹשֶׂ֣ה גְ֭דֹלוֹת וְאֵ֣ין חֵ֑קֶר נִ֝פְלָא֗וֹת עַד־אֵ֥ין מִסְפָּֽר׃ Job Job 5:9 der große Dinge tut, die nicht zu erforschen sind, und Wunder, die nicht zu zählen sind:(dhs) Job 5:9 Who does great things, and unsearchable, Marvelous things without number.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:10 ============ Job 5:10 "He gives rain on the earth And sends water on the fields,(nas) Job 5:10 τὸν διδόντα ὑετὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἀποστέλλοντα ὕδωρ ἐπὶ τὴν ὑπ᾽ οὐρανόν (lxx) Job 5:10 qui dat pluviam super faciem terræ, et irrigat aquis universa;(vulgate) 10 ׃5 הַנֹּתֵ֣ן מָ֭טָר עַל־פְּנֵי־אָ֑רֶץ וְשֹׁ֥לֵֽחַ מַ֝יִם עַל־פְּנֵ֥י חוּצֽוֹת׃ Job Job 5:10 der den Regen aufs Land gibt und läßt Wasser kommen auf die Gefilde;(dhs) Job 5:10 He gives rain on the earth, And sends waters on the fields.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:11 ============ Job 5:11 So that He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to safety.(nas) Job 5:11 τὸν ποιοῦντα ταπεινοὺς εἰς ὕψος καὶ ἀπολωλότας ἐξεγείροντα (lxx) Job 5:11 qui ponit humiles in sublime, et mœrentes erigit sospitate;(vulgate) 11 ׃5 לָשׂ֣וּם שְׁפָלִ֣ים לְמָר֑וֹם וְ֝קֹדְרִ֗ים שָׂ֣גְבוּ יֶֽשַׁע׃ Job Job 5:11 der die Niedrigen erhöht und den Betrübten emporhilft.(dhs) Job 5:11 He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to safety.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:12 ============ Job 5:12 "He frustrates the plotting of the shrewd, So that their hands cannot attain success.(nas) Job 5:12 διαλλάσσοντα βουλὰς πανούργων καὶ οὐ μὴ ποιήσουσιν αἱ χεῖρες αὐτῶν ἀληθές (lxx) Job 5:12 qui dissipat cogitationes malignorum, ne possint implere manus eorum quod cœperant;(vulgate) 12 ׃5 מֵ֭פֵר מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת עֲרוּמִ֑ים וְֽלֹא־תַעֲשֶׂ֥ינָה יְ֝דֵיהֶ֗ם תּוּשִׁיָּֽה׃ Job Job 5:12 Er macht zunichte die Anschläge der Listigen, daß es ihre Hand nicht ausführen kann;(dhs) Job 5:12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot carry out their plans.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:13 ============ Job 5:13 "He captures the wise by their own shrewdness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.(nas) Job 5:13 ὁ καταλαμβάνων σοφοὺς ἐν τῇ φρονήσει βουλὴν δὲ πολυπλόκων ἐξέστησεν (lxx) Job 5:13 qui apprehendit sapientes in astutia eorum, et consilium pravorum dissipat.(vulgate) 13 ׃5 לֹכֵ֣ד חֲכָמִ֣ים בְּעָרְמָ֑ם וַעֲצַ֖ת נִפְתָּלִ֣ים נִמְהָֽרָה׃ Job Job 5:13 er fängt die Weisen in ihrer Listigkeit und stürzt der Verkehrten Rat,(dhs) Job 5:13 He catches the wise in their own craftiness, And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:14 ============ Job 5:14 "By day they meet with darkness, And grope at noon as in the night.(nas) Job 5:14 ἡμέρας συναντήσεται αὐτοῖς σκότος τὸ δὲ μεσημβρινὸν ψηλαφήσαισαν ἴσα νυκτί (lxx) Job 5:14 Per diem incurrent tenebras, et quasi in nocte, sic palpabunt in meridie.(vulgate) 14 ׃5 יוֹמָ֥ם יְפַגְּשׁוּ־חֹ֑שֶׁךְ וְ֝כַלַּ֗יְלָה יְֽמַשְׁשׁ֥וּ בַֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃ Job Job 5:14 daß sie des Tages in der Finsternis laufen und tappen am Mittag wie in der Nacht.(dhs) Job 5:14 They meet with darkness in the daytime, And grope at noontime as in the night.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:15 ============ Job 5:15 "But He saves from the sword of their mouth, And the poor from the hand of the mighty.(nas) Job 5:15 ἀπόλοιντο δὲ ἐν πολέμῳ ἀδύνατος δὲ ἐξέλθοι ἐκ χειρὸς δυνάστου (lxx) Job 5:15 Porro salvum faciet egenum a gladio oris eorum, et de manu violenti pauperem.(vulgate) 15 ׃5 וַיֹּ֣שַׁע מֵ֭חֶרֶב מִפִּיהֶ֑ם וּמִיַּ֖ד חָזָ֣ק אֶבְיֽוֹן׃ Job Job 5:15 Er hilft den Armen von dem Schwert, von ihrem Munde und von der Hand des Mächtigen,(dhs) Job 5:15 But He saves the needy from the sword, From the mouth of the mighty, And from their hand.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:16 ============ Job 5:16 "So the helpless has hope, And unrighteousness must shut its mouth.(nas) Job 5:16 εἴη δὲ ἀδυνάτῳ ἐλπίς ἀδίκου δὲ στόμα ἐμφραχθείη (lxx) Job 5:16 Et erit egeno spes; iniquitas autem contrahet os suum.(vulgate) 16 ׃5 וַתְּהִ֣י לַדַּ֣ל תִּקְוָ֑ה וְ֝עֹלָ֗תָה קָ֣פְצָה פִּֽיהָ׃ Job Job 5:16 und ist des Armen Hoffnung, daß die Bosheit wird ihren Mund müssen zuhalten.(dhs) Job 5:16 So the poor have hope, And injustice shuts her mouth.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:17 ============ Job 5:17 "Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves, So do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.(nas) Job 5:17 μακάριος δὲ ἄνθρωπος ὃν ἤλεγξεν ὁ κύριος νουθέτημα δὲ παντοκράτορος μὴ ἀπαναίνου (lxx) Job 5:17 Beatus homo qui corripitur a Deo: increpationem ergo Domini ne reprobes:(vulgate) 17 ׃5 הִנֵּ֤ה אַשְׁרֵ֣י אֱ֭נוֹשׁ יוֹכִחֶ֣נּֽוּ אֱל֑וֹהַּ וּמוּסַ֥ר שַׁ֝דַּ֗י אַל־תִּמְאָֽס׃ Job Job 5:17 Siehe, selig ist der Mensch, den Gott straft; darum weigere dich der Züchtigung des Allmächtigen nicht.(dhs) Job 5:17 "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:18 ============ Job 5:18 "For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, and His hands also heal.(nas) Job 5:18 αὐτὸς γὰρ ἀλγεῖν ποιεῖ καὶ πάλιν ἀποκαθίστησιν ἔπαισεν καὶ αἱ χεῖρες αὐτοῦ ἰάσαντο (lxx) Job 5:18 quia ipse vulnerat, et medetur; percutit, et manus ejus sanabunt.(vulgate) 18 ׃5 כִּ֤י ה֣וּא יַכְאִ֣יב וְיֶחְבָּ֑שׁ יִ֝מְחַ֗ץ *וידו **וְיָדָ֥יו תִּרְפֶּֽינָה׃ Job Job 5:18 Denn er verletzt und verbindet; er zerschlägt und seine Hand heilt.(dhs) Job 5:18 For He bruises, but He binds up; He wounds, but His hands make whole.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:19 ============ Job 5:19 "From six troubles He will deliver you, Even in seven evil will not touch you.(nas) Job 5:19 ἑξάκις ἐξ ἀναγκῶν σε ἐξελεῖται ἐν δὲ τῷ ἑβδόμῳ οὐ μὴ ἅψηταί σου κακόν (lxx) Job 5:19 In sex tribulationibus liberabit te, et in septima non tangent te malum.(vulgate) 19 ׃5 בְּשֵׁ֣שׁ צָ֭רוֹת יַצִּילֶ֑ךָּ וּבְשֶׁ֓בַע ׀ לֹא־יִגַּ֖ע בְּךָ֣ רָֽע׃ Job Job 5:19 Aus sechs Trübsalen wird er dich erretten, und in der siebenten wird dich kein Übel rühren:(dhs) Job 5:19 He shall deliver you in six troubles, Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:20 ============ Job 5:20 "In famine He will redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword.(nas) Job 5:20 ἐν λιμῷ ῥύσεταί σε ἐκ θανάτου ἐν πολέμῳ δὲ ἐκ χειρὸς σιδήρου λύσει σε (lxx) Job 5:20 In fame eruet te de morte, et in bello de manu gladii.(vulgate) 20 ׃5 בְּ֭רָעָב פָּֽדְךָ֣ מִמָּ֑וֶת וּ֝בְמִלְחָמָ֗ה מִ֣ידֵי חָֽרֶב׃ Job Job 5:20 in der Teuerung wird er dich vom Tod erlösen und im Kriege von des Schwertes Hand;(dhs) Job 5:20 In famine He shall redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:21 ============ Job 5:21 "You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, And you will not be afraid of violence when it comes.(nas) Job 5:21 ἀπὸ μάστιγος γλώσσης σε κρύψει καὶ οὐ μὴ φοβηθῇς ἀπὸ κακῶν ἐρχομένων (lxx) Job 5:21 A flagello linguæ absconderis, et non timebis calamitatem cum venerit.(vulgate) 21 ׃5 בְּשׁ֣וֹט לָ֭שׁוֹן תֵּחָבֵ֑א וְֽלֹא־תִירָ֥א מִ֝שֹּׁ֗ד כִּ֣י יָבֽוֹא׃ Job Job 5:21 Er wird dich verbergen vor der Geißel Zunge, daß du dich nicht fürchtest vor dem Verderben, wenn es kommt;(dhs) Job 5:21 You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, And you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:22 ============ Job 5:22 "You will laugh at violence and famine, And you will not be afraid of wild beasts.(nas) Job 5:22 ἀδίκων καὶ ἀνόμων καταγελάσῃ ἀπὸ δὲ θηρίων ἀγρίων οὐ μὴ φοβηθῇς (lxx) Job 5:22 In vastitate et fame ridebis, et bestias terræ non formidabis.(vulgate) 22 ׃5 לְשֹׁ֣ד וּלְכָפָ֣ן תִּשְׂחָ֑ק וּֽמֵחַיַּ֥ת הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ אַל־תִּירָֽא׃ Job Job 5:22 im Verderben und im Hunger wirst du lachen und dich vor den wilden Tieren im Lande nicht fürchten;(dhs) Job 5:22 You shall laugh at destruction and famine, And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:23 ============ Job 5:23 "For you will be in league with the stones of the field, And the beasts of the field will be at peace with you.(nas) Job 5:23 θῆρες γὰρ ἄγριοι εἰρηνεύσουσίν σοι (lxx) Job 5:23 Sed cum lapidibus regionum pactum tuum, et bestiæ terræ pacificæ erunt tibi.(vulgate) 23 ׃5 כִּ֤י עִם־אַבְנֵ֣י הַשָּׂדֶ֣ה בְרִיתֶ֑ךָ וְחַיַּ֥ת הַ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה הָשְׁלְמָה־לָֽךְ׃ Job Job 5:23 sondern sein Bund wird sein mit den Steinen auf dem Felde, und die wilden Tiere im Lande werden Frieden mit dir halten.(dhs) Job 5:23 For you shall have a covenant with the stones of the field, And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:24 ============ Job 5:24 "You will know that your tent is secure, For you will visit your abode and fear no loss.(nas) Job 5:24 εἶτα γνώσῃ ὅτι εἰρηνεύσει σου ὁ οἶκος ἡ δὲ δίαιτα τῆς σκηνῆς σου οὐ μὴ ἁμάρτῃ (lxx) Job 5:24 Et scies quod pacem habeat tabernaculum tuum; et visitans speciem tuam, non peccabis.(vulgate) 24 ׃5 וְֽ֭יָדַעְתָּ כִּי־שָׁל֣וֹם אָהֳלֶ֑ךָ וּֽפָקַדְתָּ֥ נָ֝וְךָ וְלֹ֣א תֶחֱטָֽא׃ Job Job 5:24 Und du wirst erfahren, daß deine Hütte Frieden hat, und wirst deine Behausung versorgen und nichts vermissen,(dhs) Job 5:24 You shall know that your tent is in peace; You shall visit your dwelling and find nothing amiss.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:25 ============ Job 5:25 "You will know also that your descendants will be many, And your offspring as the grass of the earth.(nas) Job 5:25 γνώσῃ δὲ ὅτι πολὺ τὸ σπέρμα σου τὰ δὲ τέκνα σου ἔσται ὥσπερ τὸ παμβότανον τοῦ ἀγροῦ (lxx) Job 5:25 Scies quoque quoniam multiplex erit semen tuum, et progenies tua quasi herba terræ.(vulgate) 25 ׃5 וְֽ֭יָדַעְתָּ כִּי־רַ֣ב זַרְעֶ֑ךָ וְ֝צֶאֱצָאֶ֗יךָ כְּעֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Job Job 5:25 und wirst erfahren, daß deines Samens wird viel werden und deine Nachkommen wie das Gras auf Erden,(dhs) Job 5:25 You shall also know that your descendants shall be many, And your offspring like the grass of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:26 ============ Job 5:26 "You will come to the grave in full vigor, Like the stacking of grain in its season.(nas) Job 5:26 ἐλεύσῃ δὲ ἐν τάφῳ ὥσπερ σῖτος ὥριμος κατὰ καιρὸν θεριζόμενος ἢ ὥσπερ θιμωνιὰ ἅλωνος καθ᾽ ὥραν συγκομισθεῖσα (lxx) Job 5:26 Ingredieris in abundantia sepulchrum, sicut infertur acervus tritici in tempore suo.(vulgate) 26 ׃5 תָּב֣וֹא בְכֶ֣לַח אֱלֵי־קָ֑בֶר כַּעֲל֖וֹת גָּדִ֣ישׁ בְּעִתּֽוֹ׃ Job Job 5:26 und wirst im Alter zum Grab kommen, wie Garben eingeführt werden zu seiner Zeit.(dhs) Job 5:26 You shall come to the grave at a full age, As a sheaf of grain ripens in its season.(nkjv) ======= Job 5:27 ============ Job 5:27 "Behold this; we have investigated it, and so it is.
