Today's Date: Job 7:21 Why then do You not pardon my transgression, And take away my iniquity? For now I will lie down in the dust, And You will seek me diligently, But I will no longer be."(nkjv) ======= Job 8:1 ============ Job 8:1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,(nas) Job 8:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Βαλδαδ ὁ Σαυχίτης λέγει (lxx) Job 8:1 Respondens autem Baldad Suhites, dixit:(vulgate) 1 ׃8 וַ֭יַּעַן בִּלְדַּ֥ד הַשּׁוּחִ֗י וַיֹאמַֽר׃ Job Job 8:1 Da antwortete Bildad von Suah und sprach:(dhs) Job 8:1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 8:2 ============ Job 8:2 "How long will you say these things, And the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?(nas) Job 8:2 μέχρι τίνος λαλήσεις ταῦτα πνεῦμα πολυρῆμον τοῦ στόματός σου (lxx) Job 8:2 [Usquequo loqueris talia, et spiritus multiplex sermones oris tui?(vulgate) 2 ׃8 עַד־אָ֥ן תְּמַלֶּל־אֵ֑לֶּה וְר֥וּחַ כַּ֝בִּיר אִמְרֵי־פִֽיךָ׃ Job Job 8:2 Wie lange willst du solches reden und sollen die Reden deines Mundes so einen stolzen Mut haben?(dhs) Job 8:2 "How long will you speak these things, And the words of your mouth be like a strong wind?(nkjv) ======= Job 8:3 ============ Job 8:3 "Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert what is right?(nas) Job 8:3 μὴ ὁ κύριος ἀδικήσει κρίνων ἢ ὁ τὰ πάντα ποιήσας ταράξει τὸ δίκαιον (lxx) Job 8:3 Numquid Deus supplantat judicium? aut Omnipotens subvertit quod justum est?(vulgate) 3 ׃8 הַ֭אֵל יְעַוֵּ֣ת מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וְאִם־שַׁ֝דַּ֗י יְעַוֵּֽת־צֶֽדֶק׃ Job Job 8:3 Meinst du, daß Gott unrecht richte oder der Allmächtige das Recht verkehre?(dhs) Job 8:3 Does God subvert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice?(nkjv) ======= Job 8:4 ============ Job 8:4 "If your sons sinned against Him, Then He delivered them into the power of their transgression.(nas) Job 8:4 εἰ οἱ υἱοί σου ἥμαρτον ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ ἀπέστειλεν ἐν χειρὶ ἀνομίας αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 8:4 Etiam si filii tui peccaverunt ei, et dimisit eos in manu iniquitatis suæ:(vulgate) 4 ׃8 אִם־בָּנֶ֥יךָ חָֽטְאוּ־ל֑וֹ וַֽ֝יְשַׁלְּחֵ֗ם בְּיַד־פִּשְׁעָֽם׃ Job Job 8:4 Haben deine Söhne vor ihm gesündigt, so hat er sie verstoßen um ihrer Missetat willen.(dhs) Job 8:4 If your sons have sinned against Him, He has cast them away for their transgression.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:5 ============ Job 8:5 "If you would seek God And implore the compassion of the Almighty,(nas) Job 8:5 σὺ δὲ ὄρθριζε πρὸς κύριον παντοκράτορα δεόμενος (lxx) Job 8:5 tu tamen si diluculo consurrexeris ad Deum, et Omnipotentem fueris deprecatus;(vulgate) 5 ׃8 אִם־אַ֭תָּה תְּשַׁחֵ֣ר אֶל־אֵ֑ל וְאֶל־שַׁ֝דַּ֗י תִּתְחַנָּֽן׃ Job Job 8:5 So du aber dich beizeiten zu Gott tust und zu dem Allmächtigen flehst,(dhs) Job 8:5 If you would earnestly seek God And make your supplication to the Almighty,(nkjv) ======= Job 8:6 ============ Job 8:6 If you are pure and upright, Surely now He would rouse Himself for you And restore your righteous estate.(nas) Job 8:6 εἰ καθαρὸς εἶ καὶ ἀληθινός δεήσεως ἐπακούσεταί σου ἀποκαταστήσει δέ σοι δίαιταν δικαιοσύνης (lxx) Job 8:6 si mundus et rectus incesseris: statim evigilabit ad te, et pacatum reddet habitaculum justitiæ tuæ,(vulgate) 6 ׃8 אִם־זַ֥ךְ וְיָשָׁ֗ר אָ֥תָּה כִּי־עַ֭תָּה יָעִ֣יר עָלֶ֑יךָ וְ֝שִׁלַּ֗ם נְוַ֣ת צִדְקֶֽךָ׃ Job Job 8:6 und so du rein und fromm bist, so wird er aufwachen zu dir und wird wieder aufrichten deine Wohnung um deiner Gerechtigkeit willen;(dhs) Job 8:6 If you were pure and upright, Surely now He would awake for you, And prosper your rightful dwelling place.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:7 ============ Job 8:7 "Though your beginning was insignificant, Yet your end will increase greatly.(nas) Job 8:7 ἔσται οὖν τὰ μὲν πρῶτά σου ὀλίγα τὰ δὲ ἔσχατά σου ἀμύθητα (lxx) Job 8:7 in tantum ut si priora tua fuerint parva, et novissima tua multiplicentur nimis.(vulgate) 7 ׃8 וְהָיָ֣ה רֵאשִׁיתְךָ֣ מִצְעָ֑ר וְּ֝אַחֲרִיתְךָ֗ יִשְׂגֶּ֥ה מְאֹֽד׃ Job Job 8:7 und was du zuerst wenig gehabt hast, wird hernach gar sehr zunehmen.(dhs) Job 8:7 Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:8 ============ Job 8:8 "Please inquire of past generations, And consider the things searched out by their fathers.(nas) Job 8:8 ἐπερώτησον γὰρ γενεὰν πρώτην ἐξιχνίασον δὲ κατὰ γένος πατέρων (lxx) Job 8:8 Interroga enim generationem pristinam, et diligenter investiga patrum memoriam(vulgate) 8 ׃8 כִּֽי־שְׁאַל־נָ֭א לְדֹ֣ר רִישׁ֑וֹן וְ֝כוֹנֵ֗ן לְחֵ֣קֶר אֲבוֹתָֽם׃ Job Job 8:8 Denn frage die vorigen Geschlechter und merke auf das, was ihr Väter erforscht haben;(dhs) Job 8:8 "For inquire, please, of the former age, And consider the things discovered by their fathers;(nkjv) ======= Job 8:9 ============ Job 8:9 "For we are only of yesterday and know nothing, Because our days on earth are as a shadow.(nas) Job 8:9 χθιζοὶ γάρ ἐσμεν καὶ οὐκ οἴδαμεν σκιὰ γάρ ἐστιν ἡμῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὁ βίος (lxx) Job 8:9 (hesterni quippe sumus, et ignoramus, quoniam sicut umbra dies nostri sunt super terram),(vulgate) 9 ׃8 כִּֽי־תְמ֣וֹל אֲ֭נַחְנוּ וְלֹ֣א נֵדָ֑ע כִּ֤י צֵ֖ל יָמֵ֣ינוּ עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ Job Job 8:9 denn wir sind von gestern her und wissen nichts; unser Leben ist ein Schatten auf Erden.(dhs) Job 8:9 For we were born yesterday, and know nothing, Because our days on earth are a shadow.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:10 ============ Job 8:10 "Will they not teach you and tell you, And bring forth words from their minds?(nas) Job 8:10 ἦ οὐχ οὗτοί σε διδάξουσιν καὶ ἀναγγελοῦσιν καὶ ἐκ καρδίας ἐξάξουσιν ῥήματα (lxx) Job 8:10 et ipsi docebunt te, loquentur tibi, et de corde suo proferent eloquia.(vulgate) 10 ׃8 הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם י֭וֹרוּךָ יֹ֣אמְרוּ לָ֑ךְ וּ֝מִלִּבָּ֗ם יוֹצִ֥אוּ מִלִּֽים׃ Job Job 8:10 Sie werden dich's lehren und dir sagen und ihre Rede aus ihrem Herzen hervorbringen:(dhs) Job 8:10 Will they not teach you and tell you, And utter words from their heart?(nkjv) ======= Job 8:11 ============ Job 8:11 "Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh? Can the rushes grow without water?(nas) Job 8:11 μὴ θάλλει πάπυρος ἄνευ ὕδατος ἢ ὑψωθήσεται βούτομον ἄνευ πότου (lxx) Job 8:11 Numquid vivere potest scirpus absque humore? aut crescere carectum sine aqua?(vulgate) 11 ׃8 הֲיִֽגְאֶה־גֹּ֭מֶא בְּלֹ֣א בִצָּ֑ה יִשְׂגֶּה־אָ֥חוּ בְלִי־מָֽיִם׃ Job Job 8:11 "Kann auch ein Rohr aufwachsen, wo es nicht feucht steht? oder Schilf wachsen ohne Wasser?(dhs) Job 8:11 "Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh? Can the reeds flourish without water?(nkjv) ======= Job 8:12 ============ Job 8:12 "While it is still green and not cut down, Yet it withers before any other plant.(nas) Job 8:12 ἔτι ὂν ἐπὶ ῥίζης καὶ οὐ μὴ θερισθῇ πρὸ τοῦ πιεῖν πᾶσα βοτάνη οὐχὶ ξηραίνεται (lxx) Job 8:12 Cum adhuc sit in flore, nec carpatur manu, ante omnes herbas arescit.(vulgate) 12 ׃8 עֹדֶ֣נּוּ בְ֭אִבּוֹ לֹ֣א יִקָּטֵ֑ף וְלִפְנֵ֖י כָל־חָצִ֣יר יִיבָֽשׁ׃ Job Job 8:12 Sonst wenn's noch in der Blüte ist, ehe es abgehauen wird, verdorrt es vor allem Gras.(dhs) Job 8:12 While it is yet green and not cut down, It withers before any other plant.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:13 ============ Job 8:13 "So are the paths of all who forget God; And the hope of the godless will perish,(nas) Job 8:13 οὕτως τοίνυν ἔσται τὰ ἔσχατα πάντων τῶν ἐπιλανθανομένων τοῦ κυρίου ἐλπὶς γὰρ ἀσεβοῦς ἀπολεῖται (lxx) Job 8:13 Sic viæ omnium qui obliviscuntur Deum, et spes hypocritæ peribit.(vulgate) 13 ׃8 כֵּ֗ן אָ֭רְחוֹת כָּל־שֹׁ֣כְחֵי אֵ֑ל וְתִקְוַ֖ת חָנֵ֣ף תֹּאבֵֽד׃ Job Job 8:13 So geht es allen denen, die Gottes vergessen; und die Hoffnung der Heuchler wird verloren sein.(dhs) Job 8:13 So are the paths of all who forget God; And the hope of the hypocrite shall perish,(nkjv) ======= Job 8:14 ============ Job 8:14 Whose confidence is fragile, And whose trust a spider's web.(nas) Job 8:14 ἀοίκητος γὰρ αὐτοῦ ἔσται ὁ οἶκος ἀράχνη δὲ αὐτοῦ ἀποβήσεται ἡ σκηνή (lxx) Job 8:14 Non ei placebit vecordia sua, et sicut tela aranearum fiducia ejus.(vulgate) 14 ׃8 אֲשֶׁר־יָק֥וֹט כִּסְל֑וֹ וּבֵ֥ית עַ֝כָּבִ֗[t]ישׁ מִבְטַחֽוֹ׃ Job Job 8:14 Denn seine Zuversicht vergeht, und seine Hoffnung ist eine Spinnwebe.(dhs) Job 8:14 Whose confidence shall be cut off, And whose trust is a spider's web.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:15 ============ Job 8:15 "He trusts in his house, but it does not stand; He holds fast to it, but it does not endure.(nas) Job 8:15 ἐὰν ὑπερείσῃ τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ στῇ ἐπιλαβομένου δὲ αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ὑπομείνῃ (lxx) Job 8:15 Innitetur super domum suam, et non stabit; fulciet eam, et non consurget.(vulgate) 15 ׃8 יִשָּׁעֵ֣ן עַל־בֵּ֭יתוֹ וְלֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֑ד יַחֲזִ֥יק בּ֝֗וֹ וְלֹ֣א יָקֽוּם׃ Job Job 8:15 Er verläßt sich auf sein Haus, und wird doch nicht bestehen; er wird sich daran halten, aber doch nicht stehenbleiben.(dhs) Job 8:15 He leans on his house, but it does not stand. He holds it fast, but it does not endure.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:16 ============ Job 8:16 "He thrives before the sun, And his shoots spread out over his garden.(nas) Job 8:16 ὑγρὸς γάρ ἐστιν ὑπὸ ἡλίου καὶ ἐκ σαπρίας αὐτοῦ ὁ ῥάδαμνος αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται (lxx) Job 8:16 Humectus videtur antequam veniat sol, et in ortu suo germen ejus egredietur.(vulgate) 16 ׃8 רָטֹ֣ב ה֭וּא לִפְנֵי־שָׁ֑מֶשׁ וְעַ֥ל גַּ֝נָּת֗וֹ יֹֽנַקְתּ֥וֹ תֵצֵֽא׃ Job Job 8:16 Er steht voll Saft im Sonnenschein, und seine Reiser wachsen hervor in seinem Garten.(dhs) Job 8:16 He grows green in the sun, And his branches spread out in his garden.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:17 ============ Job 8:17 "His roots wrap around a rock pile, He grasps a house of stones.(nas) Job 8:17 ἐπὶ συναγωγὴν λίθων κοιμᾶται ἐν δὲ μέσῳ χαλίκων ζήσεται (lxx) Job 8:17 Super acervum petrarum radices ejus densabuntur, et inter lapides commorabitur.(vulgate) 17 ׃8 עַל־גַּ֭ל שָֽׁרָשָׁ֣יו יְסֻבָּ֑כוּ בֵּ֖ית אֲבָנִ֣ים יֶחֱזֶֽה׃ Job Job 8:17 Seine Saat steht dick bei den Quellen und sein Haus auf Steinen.(dhs) Job 8:17 His roots wrap around the rock heap, And look for a place in the stones.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:18 ============ Job 8:18 "If he is removed from his place, Then it will deny him, saying, 'I never saw you.'(nas) Job 8:18 ἐὰν καταπίῃ ὁ τόπος ψεύσεται αὐτόν οὐχ ἑόρακας τοιαῦτα (lxx) Job 8:18 Si absorbuerit eum de loco suo, negabit eum, et dicet: Non novi te.(vulgate) 18 ׃8 אִם־יְבַלְּעֶ֥נּוּ מִמְּקוֹמ֑וֹ וְכִ֥חֶשׁ בּ֝֗וֹ לֹ֣א רְאִיתִֽיךָ׃ Job Job 8:18 Wenn er ihn aber verschlingt von seiner Stätte, wird sie sich gegen ihn stellen, als kennte sie ihn nicht.(dhs) Job 8:18 If he is destroyed from his place, Then it will deny him, saying, 'I have not seen you.'(nkjv) ======= Job 8:19 ============ Job 8:19 "Behold, this is the joy of His way; And out of the dust others will spring.(nas) Job 8:19 ὅτι καταστροφὴ ἀσεβοῦς τοιαύτη ἐκ δὲ γῆς ἄλλον ἀναβλαστήσει (lxx) Job 8:19 Hæc est enim lætitia viæ ejus, ut rursum de terra alii germinentur.(vulgate) 19 ׃8 הֶן־ה֭וּא מְשׂ֣וֹשׂ דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וּ֝מֵעָפָ֗ר אַחֵ֥ר יִצְמָֽחוּ׃ Job Job 8:19 Siehe, das ist die Freude seines Wesens; und aus dem Staube werden andere wachsen."(dhs) Job 8:19 "Behold, this is the joy of His way, And out of the earth others will grow.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:20 ============ Job 8:20 "Lo, God will not reject a man of integrity, Nor will He support the evildoers.(nas) Job 8:20 ὁ γὰρ κύριος οὐ μὴ ἀποποιήσηται τὸν ἄκακον πᾶν δὲ δῶρον ἀσεβοῦς οὐ δέξεται (lxx) Job 8:20 Deus non projiciet simplicem, nec porriget manum malignis,(vulgate) 20 ׃8 הֶן־אֵ֭ל לֹ֣א יִמְאַס־תָּ֑ם וְלֹֽא־יַ֝חֲזִ֗יק בְּיַד־מְרֵעִֽים׃ Job Job 8:20 Darum siehe, daß Gott nicht verwirft die Frommen und erhält nicht die Hand der Boshaften,(dhs) Job 8:20 Behold, God will not cast away the blameless, Nor will He uphold the evildoers.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:21 ============ Job 8:21 "He will yet fill your mouth with laughter And your lips with shouting.(nas) Job 8:21 ἀληθινῶν δὲ στόμα ἐμπλήσει γέλωτος τὰ δὲ χείλη αὐτῶν ἐξομολογήσεως (lxx) Job 8:21 donec impleatur risu os tuum, et labia tua jubilo.(vulgate) 21 ׃8 עַד־יְמַלֵּ֣ה שְׂח֣וֹק פִּ֑יךָ וּשְׂפָתֶ֥יךָ תְרוּעָֽה׃ Job Job 8:21 bis daß dein Mund voll Lachens werde und deine Lippen voll Jauchzens.(dhs) Job 8:21 He will yet fill your mouth with laughing, And your lips with rejoicing.(nkjv) ======= Job 8:22 ============ Job 8:22 "Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, And the tent of the wicked will be no longer."(nas) Job 8:22 οἱ δὲ ἐχθροὶ αὐτῶν ἐνδύσονται αἰσχύνην δίαιτα δὲ ἀσεβοῦς οὐκ ἔσται (lxx) Job 8:22 Qui oderunt te induentur confusione, et tabernaculum impiorum non subsistet.](vulgate) 22 ׃8 שֹׂנְאֶ֥יךָ יִלְבְּשׁוּ־בֹ֑שֶׁת וְאֹ֖הֶל רְשָׁעִ֣ים אֵינֶֽנּוּ׃ פ Job Job 8:22 Die dich aber hassen, werden zu Schanden werden, und der Gottlosen Hütte wird nicht bestehen.(dhs) Job 8:22 Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, And the dwelling place of the wicked will come to nothing."(nkjv) ======= Job 9:1 ============ top of the page
